I originally booked for 16h15, flight was cancelled and rescheduled to 17h35 (If I had known this was going to happen, i would have opted for another airline). Then boarding time was supposed to be 16h55...after standing in the queue for over 30 mins, passengers complained and only then did the officials advise that they were waiting for passengers to disembark and for the plane to be cleaned! This is unacceptable! Why not tell passengers upfront that the flight is delayed? Why make us all stand waiting? This is also not the first time, I had the same experience when I flew up to Jhb on Wednesday the 11th (around 13h05). I'm never flying this airline again!
name correction
I flew from Bloemfontein to Cape Town on 28 August 2019 (Ref: SMVBCT) .
I booked the flight on the internet and my laptop 'auto complete' function caused my second name to be booked in the place of my surname. I noticed it immediately when I printed the document and tried to correct the Surname on the system but it did not work.
When I came to the airport, I was told that I have to get my name corrected before I can board. I went to the counter and explained what has happened and that it was still me who wants to fly. I was informed that it was a 'name change' and had to pay an extra R350 for it.
I have been an ERP system developer/programmer for 32 years and there is no way you can say that when you have to correct a persons name that it is a 'name change'. It is a correction of the same persons name. I felt that I was taken in by Mango because it was still me and I had my ID to prove it. I can understand that when somebody else needs to fly instead, then it is a 'name change' but adding my surname instead of my second name @ R350 a shot...I find it unacceptable to say the least.
The rest of the flight was great and I have no complaints whatsoever.
delayed flights
Mango service is appalling. Flight from Durban to Cape Town was delayed by 3hrs without any explanation or announcement. This is not the first time I am experiencing this with Mango airlines. It seems like the last flight is always a problem with these airlines. A flight that was due to leave at 17h25 now leaves at 20h20 and no staff or management can give you an answer. One would think they would be apologetic and maybe offer the clients vouchers for food etc as a good gesture but suppose that is asking to much from an airline that does not give a damn. Definitely will look at other airlines.
my bag was broken into
I flew from Durban to Lanseria on a 17h45 flight on Thursday 05 September. I checked in early, about an hour before boarding time. My suitcase was checked in locked, I double checked at the counter.
When I go to Lanseria I picked up my bag and didn't notice anything. When I got home, I tried to unlock my suitcase and realized that the zip was slightly open. The lock was intact but the one side of the hook that we use to hook the lock was cut in the middle. That's how the zip was able to open.
When I opened my suitcase, my closed were all "shoved" in! The shoes were removed from their little bag and strewn all over the suitcase. The toiletries bag was left open, both zips. My clothes were in disarray, definitely not how I packed them before locking my suitcase.
I need an explanation please of who opened my bag, why? For what reason would anyone open my bag and leave my clothes like that. I am still trying to figure out what I could be possibly missing on that bag but so far I haven't realized yet.
Kindly revert with a clear and detailed explanation.

flight changed 4 times!!!
I booked a flight for Monday Morning to Cape Town .The flight was cancelled and unilaterally changed by Mango to a later flight on Monday.This would not be possible as the purpose of the flight was to be in Cape Town at 9am.Had to cut my visit with my 12 year old daughter short, causing great disappointment and many tears. Was promised that flight detail would be sent via email. When I enquired on Sunday at 2pm about confirmation never received, I was informed flight delayed and now departing at 22h20. Arrived at Airport ...flight delayed again...now departing at 01h10(Monday Morning) arriving in Cape Town 03h00 Monday Morning!and home about 04h00.
I commute between Cape Town and Jhb at least 2 to 3 times per month.This was definitely my last flight with Mango Airlines .I shall definitely be broadcasting Mango' s disrespect for its passangers as loud and as far as I can.Mango, you do not deserve a license to operate!

I don't know why flight was delayed ? All I know is that I will NEVER EVER use Mango airlines ever again. And then when I want to submit my complain I am told to type some more word ? Really I don't want to write an sa to get your attention... I mean come on to be delayed for 3 hours is not nice. Your service sucks. I am so disappointed and won't recommend Mango airlines to anyone.
mango reliability and trust
Honestly am so disappointed by this airline! It just continues to be unreliable and never on time.
I booked this flight for a wedding we has to shoot and i got a random email saying my flight has been moved 2 and a half hours later on a Friday evening.
So now instead of landing early enough i only got home at 11pm having to shoot a wedding the next morning.
Then our disappointment continued when we had to wake up 3am to be in time for our 5.55am flight which they casually announce when we are about to board that it is delayed for an hour and a half.
Now yet again i will miss my appointment and will be late for work because your airline cannot commit to a time given to your customers.
We are frequent flyers and regularly make use of mango. But i never want to use this airline again. In fact i will pay double to rather use another airline that will make sure I get to my destination in time.
olive oil

We flew with Mango airlines flight 708, from Cape Town to Lanseria.
We bought 4 bottles of Olive oil, at Oakhurst farm in Tulbagh, which were packed securely, in the original package, and were in our carry on luggage. The lady at the check in confiscated it as she claimed it as dangerous goods. Why we don't really know. I've checked everywhere on the Mango website but could nowhere find anything that olive oil was prohibited.
We lost a lot of money and it was inconvenient.

Flight out of Hell.
Flight JE131, FROM Jhb to Cape town, 25 August 2019, Time:10:25.
Seated in row 32 A.
There were 3 hostesses at the station at the rear of the plane, the third one with no name badge, (dresses in full uniform) was only taking a free trip down to Cape town. The noise they made was unbearable thru-out the flight. They shouted at each other, even whilst standing right next to each other, specially the "third one" . Their laughter and screaming at each other was just irritating and very unprofessional. It made the flight unpleasant, specially if one had a hard day at the office. This makes one think that the training they receive is inadequate.
I use all airlines several times a moth but this will make me think twice using Mango again.

Cabin crew on board je 541
Goodday,
Yesterday my partner and I were on the Mango flight from Jhb to PE (JE 541)- our departure time was 15:30, seat numbers: 32 E and 32 F. The cabin crew were in incredibly rude and LOUD! you have no idea. When the prerecorded message was playing the ladies (looking oh so dressed and the part) were talking on the top of their voices and laughing so much so that we could not hear what was being said!
They just never stopped talking on the top of their voices, it sounded like a Saturday morning flee Market at the back.
They were incredibly rude to the passengers as well. While 2 of them did the drink trolley round the were talking to each other the whole time and then was almost irritated that they had to stop mid sentence to ask someone if they would like anything. I must point out, this complaint is not a "racially" motivated complaint at all as the a very nice African gentleman sitting opposite us was also shaking his head at the chaos from this group of ladies. We had 2 colored ladies in front and they were spoken to so badly! As I said before, they certainly looked the part all dressed up, make up and hair done but their lack of professionalism brought down the whole experience on Mango Airlines. I am curious to see if anybody contacts me. It would really be lovely just to have a chat to someone about this. Hi, I booked a flight with Mango for a future date and just received an sms to say my flight has been changed to a later time! Had it been i wanted to book a later flight i woud have done so!Now im calling the call centre and have been holding for 20 Minutes! Mango you atre losing my business from today! i hsave never dealt with such a useles airline!
Theft of clothes in checked bags
I flew on MANGO on Wednesday 14 August from Cape Town to OR Tambo Flight JE168. It was around 10pm at night so I just took my suitcase from the carousel and did not notice that the cable ties were off. When I arrived home and wanted to open my bag I noticed but could not see immediately was was taken. My K-Way jacked is gone and I am really not happy. Please get back to me as to how you are going to compensate me.

firstly on our flight from durban to capetown my small bag was dammaged was like my bag had been thrown across the room i had all my shower lid etc damaged broken that the stuff had leaked all over my bag the side of my bag the whole plastic broken off and sopaking wet.
secondly on check in at capetown we were getting ready to board at 19;45 and the ladies behind counter just left without tell us only after 10mins were we told the the flight us delayed till 20;50 amd we would board at 20;15 that didnt happen we were left standing with no answer finally we leave to get on the plane at 20;50, captin said sorry but they knew about there be an issue sine the firsst flight so why were not informed sooner about a delay and then threr was a issue with the wheel on plane so we on left at 22;15 that was a whole 2 hours delay i got home at 1am in the morning with my other bag been thrown all over there is scratches all over. i want some sort of compensation for time lost bad attitude from flight attendance and people at the airport.

I flew Mango back from Cape Town on 14 August and booked in early. I had closed my suitcase with cable ties only to find when I got home that the cable ties were cut and my K-Way jacket of more than R2000 was stolen. Cannot the airline take responsibility to ensure that your clothes are safe? They say take out valuables but then must we walk with our clothes draped over our arms as well? I have tried to call, when I started to explained the Mango agent cut off my call...
Stealing money and not confirming flight
So we booked a flight or so we thought for Dec.
Received no confirmation of booking, but they have taken nearly R6k from our account. Checked this with bank. Never answer phones you wait for ever and lose money. Dm on Twitter and asked for a Mgr call. No one called. This airline is a disgrace. And worse thieves as well. Now have to do s chargeback with credit card company due to these idiots. Avoid them like the plague. You have more fun walking to your destination than dealing with this lot!

Delayed Flight (3hrs)
My daughter, Miss Rachel Sarafidis, on Flight JE275 from OR Tambo Jhb to King Shaka Dbn on Thursday night (8 August) was delayed for 3 hours.
We find this totally unacceptable !
The communication about the delay was also very poor ... the plane is here but no cabin crew, then a passenger with heart problems who was already on the plane wouldn't get off ...
I would expect some form of compensation for this as well as for the meal she paid for (she did not check in luggage so she was not awarded any vouchers).
Not only did she have to wait so long to get home but we sat at King Shaka Airport for hours until she arrived at 12am !
She said to me, please don't book me on Mango ever again. And in talking to other people, they too said that Mango is terrible.
What is going on with this airline ?!?!

no notification of flight delay and wrong spelling of name
My daughter was booked on JE632 on 11 August from Durban to Johannesburg, we did not receive an SMS to notify us the flight was delayed for 2 hours and this was a cost factor on us, because we hired and private taxi to pick her up from the airport and drop her off and WITS. Also the person that took the details spelled our surname wrong (I understand we should have checked it when received) but you need to get competent people doing important tasks. The people at the call centre are so bad they talk so soft, cannot spell, unprofessional and we got to keep on repeating words/sentences
continuous delays
I would like to express my disgust with Mango Airlines due to continuous delays in your flights from all airports during the past months. I am a frequent flyer and have never experienced this bad service from any other airline. I have been using Mango Airline due to affordability but last night, flight JE151 OR Tambo to Cape Town that was AGAIN delayed for two and a half hours was the last flight I will ever book with Mango Airlines

I am disgusted at the lack of communication and competence of Mango.
I was scheduled to fly to durban at 8pm. The flight has been delayed until 10.15pm. The time is now 22.12pm and there flight has not boarded as yet.
Do ul think a R120 meal voucher is going to help satisfy customers ?
Pls advise of the relevant regulatory body that I can lay a legal complaint against Mango. I am sick of the lack of Service which has wasted my time and money.
This is unacceptable. Week on week there is technical issues - seems like there are serious technical concerns on mango flights. Therefore there should be an investigation on the mango airlines .
Pls urgently provide me the requested information as above.
delayed flights

The first time I used Mango everything was perfect but the last 2 times I have been making use of mango the departure and arrival flights were delayed, with more than an hour!
The price you pay for the flights and time taken off work in order to be on time for your flight, but only to get there and the flights are delayed with more than an hour.
I am very sorry but this is so unacceptable, i hope my flight in October that i have already booked with mango is not delayed. i fly to Durban every second weekend but i will not book mango again, you only get there what time on a Friday and then you only get back on a Sunday at 22:00 because of the delayed flights.
I will not ever recommend mango again to friends or family if this is the case. you pay the price for that ticket but its not worth my while by paying so much and then i am delayed!
poor treatment, lack of feedback je 645
I sent two Emails regarding the delay of a Flight, regarding the poor treatment received at the Lanseria Airport.
Flight was delayed, no one bothered to assist with infomation as to what was going on.
I would like to receive some feedback from the Airline as to why feedback was given.
I want a full refund for the two tickets purchased, as apart from the delay, i had to pay additional for transport back to my home.
