problems with a returned item
Purchased a pair of pants at Marshall's while visiting Washington DC downtown area and made attempts to return the same item several weeks later in another Marshall's store located near by my home address. I am not complaining about customer service at the Marshall's, Sterling VA store, I am complaining about an internal issue with scanning codes. Apparently, the code on the original receipt could not be found or the item was not shown as a brand carried by the store. I encountered a difficult situation trying to support the return. Even when the item was returned in the same condition that was purchased, including all sales tickets attached, the manager claimed the item was not a store item. The manager called the store in Washington DC and nothing was confirmed. After a long discussion, the manager agreed to grant a store credit.
You are receiving all copies of the receipts and photos of the item returned.
Thanks,
Ms. Valentin, Reston, VA

unethical behavior from supervisor and manager regarding a sales item
On April 21, 2017, at about 18:35 hours (6:35pm), I visited the Marshalls in the "Downtown Crossing" area of Boston, Massachusetts. I spent about 30 minutes in that store and I departed the store very-very disappointed and angry with the Manager on duty that night and her lead Supervisor.
I went into Marshalls that evening to purchase my favorite MENS CLOTH FABRIC UNDERWEAR. I had observed half of the items in the mens sections were our of order and not properly organized. You would have thought there was a rodeo on top of the items. The underwear and T-shirts were a complete mess...items were all over the place; even on the floor. I said to myself: Obviously they have Mix Martial Arts in this part of the store because that section was atrocious!
MY COMPLAINT
My purpose for being in that store that evening was to purchase the "five pack" of the Hanes Mens Boxers...I love those boxers, they feel great. Nonetheless, I noticed virtually all of the items had been ripped open previously by customers. The package I wanted had about nine pieces of scotch tape all over it. It was pitifully displayed and wrapped. I took the packaged to a Supervisor and she said as long as the items are not compromised, we are not going to give you any kind of discount on that package. I could not believe what I heard! I requested to see the store manager and she was just as pathetic...she said the same thing. All I wanted was some sought of discount because the package had been compromised and Marshalls wrapped it up with several layers of Scotch tape...a indication of lack of professionalism, uncoof ethical behavior, tackiness from the manager and supervisor as well as a bottom of the line sales table.
I asked, would you buy your daughters something with Scotch Tape all over it? Would you buy your daughter or sister a wedding dress wrapped up in Scotch Tape. All I wanted was a discount on an inferior looking bag. If your stands is: the items are still good: then that is pathetic. That is not the Marshalls I know and never have experienced. That would have been by fifth pack in five months. I am disappointed that I had that kind of treatment on April 21, 2017 and that many of your items were pathetically wrapped. Take them off the shelf and get your management team some new training...only a suggestion
Thank you for your time,
Drew Troy

products mislabeled and not honoring the price
Hi,
My name is Kim Tran and my e-mail address is [protected]@gmail.com. I encountered mislabeled for one products that I was buying at Costa Mesa Marshalls at Metro Point. The items was clearly marked for $49.99 and other same products was marked for higher price at $69.99. I brought it up tp Rocio, the manager at the time (5/2/2017 @ 10:30am). However, instead of helping, the manager arguing wirh me about price mistake and change it to higher Price. This is totally wrong on the Manager. She is really bad. She shouldn't be the manager and need to take more Customer Care courses. In all, instead of $200 dollars sale, it ends up with nothing and Very Upset Loyal Customer. I usually don't complaint, but in this case the manager is way out of her customer service.

poor services and uneducated associate
it's been the third time this week I have been disrespected by one of the coordinator by the Name of Jasmine C. the young lady has been really disrespectful with an unfriendly attitude and using some cussed words, some people shouldn't be working in customer service or cashier if you are uneducated, I hope the store manager fix that issue and I know I'm not the only one complaining about this matter some of my colleagues have been unfairly treated by that young lady Jasmine C
customer service
I went to the Marshall's Dept. Store at Northa Dekalb Mall in Decatur, GA. I put something on hold a few hours earlier. I went back to purchase the items that I put on hold. I walked in the store at 9:29. I was happy to arrive just in the nick of time to purchase my items. I went to stand in line as there were approximately 9 people in line. A lady, I believe was the manager Erica, yelled at me and stated that they were closed. I told her that o was not there to shop and that I was just going to pick something up that I placed on hold. She refused to provide assistance in spite of the fact that there were others waiting to make a purchase. I have never felt so disrespected and humiliated. There was no harm in allowing me to make that purchase. The manager was very rude and unprofessional. I've been shopping at Marshall's for 20 plus years, I've never received such dishonorable treatment. I'd like to speak with something in upper management.
trump products
I understood that you were no longer carrying Trump products. Now I learn that you still carry them but just do not display them.
I want to be clear. I will no longer shop at any T.J. Maxx or Marshall Dept. stores as long as you are selling any Trump products.
When I know that to be true, I look forward to shopping with you again.
I now understand that this message is not long enough, so I will again make myself clear: NO MORE TRUMP PRODUCTS EVER !
Should have guessed! From Portland, OR- the stupidest people on earth! Well I won't shop at your stores if you DON'T carry Trump products so take your pick. Are you going to be blackmailed or stick up for a very decent, lovely young woman has been doing everything good for women and children. Hey Portland, I hope you don't have any kids cuz they will turn out really nasty! It takes a good man to turn out kids like those--no one in that family drinks, smokes, does drugs, cusses. They have lovely manners and all successful and hard working not just for themselves but charities as well.
not impressed with marshalls
I don't know why are there so many good reviews about this store, it's absolutely terrible and I don't find anything special about it. I made an order here and received an incorrect item and had to waste my time and return it for a refund. Their rep was very pushy, he tried to assure me that refund was a bad choice and tried to offer me a replacement. Even when I told him that I'm not interested he kept offering me a replacement.
It took more than a week until they finally agreed to give my money back. I will not deal with this troublesome company ever again, they are absolutely terrible and unprofessional! I do not recommend Marshalls.

facial wipes
Today 11/27/2016 this morning we went in the store and noticed the facial wipes were on the clearance section red tags said $3.00 not one but 5 of them were marked down .I went to purchase one and she said this is actually not the price I said they are all marked down she said I saw that this morning . I said ok and I told her all of them are marked down she said someone must have put that on there I said this makes no sense you are not selling me this because ? she said I will sell to you for the original price. I normally don't complain but if its on there not one item but all you should at least be able to sell me this for that price .. and you are willing to loose a customer over $3.00 Please advise this is just not right we are regular customers ..Marshals Hoover store on 150 she was the only one in the front of the store @11:00am there should be some type of customer loyalty ..
sandals came apart after two use
I purchase a pair of sandals in late May, yes I worn them at least twice and they started to come apart. I noticed that I should returned them on July 10th. I talked with manager Judy Busch which is seventy years old and a sales associate. Nancy is about far the worst, no people skills and no customers service skills. The manager stated that she couldn't do anything about it and I couldn't returned them nor get a store credit. I asked her what can you do once again, she did not give me any options. I then told them I need something. The two of them them gave me the 1800 Marshalls, I stated I need more contact information. I need to talk with an area manager. Judy refused to give me her area manager. After Nancy walked away, I talked loudly about the I need a contact information to resolved this issue. Judy never stated once, I am sorry for not being able to do anything for you. Judy is a piece of mess and seventy years of age need to go rock her chair and allow a young and vibrate young person to served problem. Judy lacks all skills dealing with people, her team, customers and leading manager. I will no longer shop with TJ Maxx and Marshall for this experience. I will continued to shop at JC Penney and Ross. I can't deal with some old worn out lady, who do not care for the community that she works or the why she is working there!
How many times do they have to tell you there is nothing they can do for you? Giving you the online option is all they need to do. How about calling the manufacturer of the sandals and complain to them?
staff
If you want to be disrespected and humiliated, go to Marshalls in Lancaster, CA (44500 Valley Central Parkway Lancaster, CA 93536). Talk to Casandra, Dolores or the manager and you will see the incompetent people that Marshalls hires to provide customer service.

My husband was not allowed into the family fitting room due to the store policy. We were told that I can take my one year old with me into the fitting room. It is difficult to try on clothes when my baby wants me to pick him up. Also, if I wanted my husband to see how an outfit looks, I would have to leave my baby in the room by himself, or carry him out...

I bought shorts, t-shirts and summer handbag from www.marshallsonline.com. But the seller sent me only wrong items. The colour of all items was wrong and the size of the shorts wasn’t mine. They were too big for me. Of course, I tried to reach the seller, but this person ignored all my emails. I simply took these items and sent them back, as well as I added a note and asked to provide full refund and expanses for the shipping. But this seller decided to ignore me.

I had recently went into my favorite local store. Im a frequent shopper there buying items for myself(which is hard to find because im a different size now) and for my newborn. Im shopping around for bras which they didnt have any in my size that where stylish the store manager (MICKIE.N)decides to come from behind me and look in my carrier and say oh she has nice hair (regarding to my newborn which was asleep) then waits at the end of the rack so i go to the pantie section and she goes into that asile and waits. So then i proceed to go into the home good area to see if they have any baby decor and she right beside me this time she starts looking around in the asile but three steps away literally. So now shes making me feel very uncomfortable shes like having a competition with my shadow thats how close she is to me. So i go to the front desk to speak to maybe someone above her a associate asks me if she can assist me the same manager. That was following me around cuts her off puts her hands on the counter and ask may i help you with a attitude so i politely ask her why she has been following (even though i already know the answer im the only colored person in the store which means im automatically stealing) she says she hasnt i had said yes you have even up here to the front desk she says sorry you feel that way i say stop following me its annoying i cant shop in peace and its creepy. So she has someone else follow me so i brought my daughter a outfit and left. I couldnt deal with her ignorant stereotypical self.
They, rightly or wrongly, probably felt that you were attempting to steal something. This is why they looked in your baby carriage.
rude manager
I purchased a cute outfit for our soon to be new born. After putting it aside for a month I realized that the security tag was still attached, by then the receipt was long gone.
Being 9 months pregnant, I had to think twice about returning it, as everything takes quite abit of effort these days.
When I got to the store on Maryland Pkwy, I spoke to the manager - Margie at the front desk who confronted me with 'Do you have the receipt?... Well we cannot remove the security tag'.
I was disgruntled and told her that it was not my fault that Marshalls staff did not do their job correctly.
I was then told that the tag should have beeped when I left the store. This made me feel like I was being labeled as a criminal. I felt embarrassed and upset.
Totally dismissing me, Margee walked off, having said her piece, leaving me standing there with no one but the other check out staff member.
After telling the staff that this lady was unprofessional and rude the lady received a message on her Walky talky advising her to remove the tag. Then Margie - the incompetent Mananger came out of her store room and removed it herself.
Having been a huge advocate of Marshalls and a customer for years, this experience left me totally disgusted and disappointed.
What ever happened to customer service?!?!

refused to honor their return policy
On 2/3/14, I visited the hedwig village location here in houston texas trying to return 4 pairs of shoes which are unworn with original tags on. According to their return policy on their website as followed: "our customers continue to be our top priority. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, return the merchandise accompanied by a register receipt...
Read full review of Marshallsemployee hours
I am a current employee in the atlanta, ga. Area and I agree with the employee in the florida area. I have worked for the company for several years and after years of just working, the company did give part-time employees some of the same benefits that the full time employees have. However, the employees that has been there, do the job, care about the work do not get treated fairly when it involves hours given to the new employees. The scheduling manager gives more hours to the newer employees, even though they do less work, cause more work to be done and just do less as possible during their shift. Then they call out often right before their shift and the same managers are calling those employees who want to work, will come to work, not late and rarely call out, to see if they can work that employees shift that called out. The managers constantly push customer service, and they cause some of the customer service problems that we do have. I understand working within the payroll hours, however the employees that has been there longer and willing to work more hours/the hours they have been getting/ will always be cut short and given to those employees that make less money and will do less as possible until their shift ends. The district managers and above really should be reading all of the reviews posted and just talk to all of the employees that work in their district just to know if employees are really happy working in the store and job they are working in. I have had opportunity to review managers without being identified. This helped the overall production of the group. These reviews should be conducted for coaching and development for both managers and associates.

In reply to redhatterb71, that wasn't a very kind response, I applaud the poster for expressing how they feel. I have a masters degree in Human Resource Development and still have poor grammar (even with a 4.0). Would you truly have said that response to someone in person in a professional environment? I think not (the ill affects of social media). Here is some feedback for you, character gets people promoted to next level positions in all fields, not just retail. If I was your manager in whatever line of work you do and saw you posting things like this, I would put you on a developmental action plan. To the poster, retail managers are in a tough position. They have a very close budget to follow which means they must balance hours/pay closely. It is really tough to find good help, but trust me, keep doing fantastic work, taking those extra hours, share your career goals and you will benefit in the long-term through promotion and more pay increase. Hang in there.
