My e-mail address is, [protected]@yahoo.com. Could you make your decision to my e-mail address. I am sorry for any inconveniance.
Kind Regards and thankyou,
Alan Porter.

automatic billing / overcharging
I signed up (or resigned up for a brief subscription) and made sure my automatic billing (which has very limited options to remove your credit card numbers or set an end date on your subscription) was turned off. At some point, it was magically turned on. When I finally notice this on my account (credit card, as I did not use the service) I went through the web of entanglement I call customer service. I would finally get a response and a phone number. I was credit for one overcharge, but not the second. I had to cancel my credit card to ensure they do not choose to bill me at their will, not mine. They stand on the additional monthly charge and will not credit me. I am furious as I have discussed this with several friends and we get the same story. Somehow, we are the culprits of it being turned on - when we know automatic renewal was turned off. I believe this is Fraud, and interstate fraud. I am confident on my settings and confident I did not make a mistake. I know this is going on and I would like to hear if others are experiencing this. Perhaps their will be a class action lawsuit. They seem to have an excuse and a good story, but the bottom line... the argument starts with whether or not it was ON (automatic renewal) or OFF. I suspect they turn it ON at somepoint, but again... I think that constitutes FRAUD. If I sign up for any such services (or automatic renewals), I will use a temporary credit card (i.e., stored value card) and only load it with as much money as i am willing to spend. I also think credit cards should be put on alert for such fraudulent charges, or types of activity.

The phone number I called to report my false charge is [protected]. In April I purchased three months as a birthday gift for my friend. I did not know if she wanted to continue so I turned off the auto renewal. Well I just got another charge for $59.97. I called the customer " no" service number above. First I spoke to a rep and she said although it was my credit card she could not help because it was in my friend's name. She said she could not put us on a three way call. Must be to technical for company. I asked several times to speak to a manager and was told there was none...what? She actually hung up on me. I called back, got another rep. This time I called as my friend, since the first person said that's who she needed to talk too. He told me he needed to talk to the card holder. Again I asked several times for a manager, I guess they do not exist. Again unable to receive any help. I'm sure there are more people like us. I will continue my research and see what can be done! If nothing else we can tell every possible outlet about our own stories with match. Social media rules!
I am furious at Match for the on going charges on my bank account since 2012 ! I only noticed the charges when I started doing on line banking. I called customer service to voice my complaint and for them to remove my card charges. Which they did and gave me a refund for 1 month of 35.99 out of being charged for over 3 years, I am floored at Match and want to take legal action to stop ripping off customers who have already cancelled accounts.
Any one wants to jump on the Band Wagon, let join forces to bring legal action.
Who ever has legal experience or ideas on how fight this company, please contact me.
Thank you,
Ms. Ming Rachael Adler

I stumbled across this website just yesterday, and created my profile. And just minutes ago I signed up when I saw that for 6 months they charge some $5. But in fact, they charged me $35. I've been ripped off and this is extremely unfair. I just unsubscribed but did not get a refund or anything. I could not find a phone number there to call them up and ask for a refund. Is there any way I can file a lawsuit and get my refund? I am from India so I don't know how to go about this. Can someone help?
unauthorized charge my credit card

paid membership.
I pre paid a 3 month membership ($87.00) and I had a problem once when they demanded I sign a disclaimer stating I can not talk to members about money. The disclaimer blocked me from using my account. And it only had one button to press (I agree) for me to access my account. I spoke to there online customer servce and told hem I will not sign something like that and I fel I can speak about anything I want to another member. I am not breaking the law if I or another member ask me about my finasnces and I want to answer them.
Anyways now about 2 weeks later I can not access my paid account, I was not re imbursed my money to date. I have continually trid to get customer support online or e mail. I keep etting a message telling me good luck trying to find match.com.
This company has many gimmicks and tricks to beat people for monies I feel.
Can you help me!

fraud
I signed up for match and then turned off auto renewal as an option on my account settings. However they still billed my credit card. They refuse to credit my money back even though u made it clear I no longer wanted the service. I was told they auto bill rather you select it or not! Then why is it an option ?
Please do not use this website! It is a rip off!
taking money out of my acount unauthorized as i canciled my subscripsion amonth ago with them.
They put the wrong person's picture to my profile and are refusing to refund the money they so happily charged me. The lady in the attached picture isn't me, looks nothing like me, and I think the whole thing is a SCAM!
I closed my account with Match.com almost 3 years ago (after I met my wife) and asked that they remove my profile.
They have not removed it and it still appears active even though I have not logged-in for years. However, women are still trying to contact me through them (or so they claim in emails they keep sending me). These women must feel bad because it would appear to them that I ignore/reject them. But the fact is that I cannot see nor respond to them without paying Match.com...
My wife does not appreciate having my profile and photo on Match.com. Nor do I, and I am sure that the women who are fooled by it do not appreciate it either.
By keeping my profile active against my will they make it seem that they have more selection than they actually do. This is fraud.
Attempts to contact them to remove the profile were ignored repeatedly.
BEWARE!
I just got back from the Kirkland police department, assisting a friend in filing a report after being scammed over 65k from a "match" that she made on this site in November (2009).
The guy claimed that he is from a nearby city in Nigeria on business. He spent a month before his "business trip" luring the lonely woman in & when the "trip" took place, all sorts of "bad things" befell him. This included an international credit card that supposedly did not work, an auto accident that required paid medical expenses, & need of a laptop to be shipped to him.
Her life savings is gone, & there is about 20k worth of cash advances for her to pay.
Match.com offers no easy way to contact them to report this in a timely manner. The information is needed immediatly to get the secret service on track, but no luck there.
I know this guy by the name of MORIS WILLIAMS, who claims his wife passed away 5 years ago, while give birth to his second child and he has one son who is 11 years old. He claims he has one fashion shop in UK, Stratford - MOWILL FASHION SHOP. And having two cars. He emailed me from match.com. and from there we chatted at yahoo or msn.
He always claims his webcam spoilt and cannot let me see his face, but he always send me some modellish photos that i do doubt he the person.
He is holding an UK line that starts with +4470, that i later found out this is international call divert. But i have doubt on him. Still i give him chance to be friend.
Thing goes to peak when he said he is bring his son to Benin, Nigeria to get his goods. That i feel so weird. Then after that, he was involved in a robbery that he and his son lost his passport. But somehow he managed to clear that and go back to UK.
But since then his UK line always has nigerian song ring tone, that really trigger my doubts to him. But i remain silent.
Two weeks ago, he told me that he has to go back to benin to get his container back to UK. The day of his departure from benin back to Lagos, he still tell me that he is still one hour away from Lagos. Then there is totally no news about him.
I tried to call him, both his nigeria and UK line -but it does not get through, until few days ago. Someone claims that he is being kidnapped. And only let Moris talk 2 sentences to me. And tell me to pay ransom. Of course, I didn't do so. But I email to UK high comm. In Nigeria. And I also file a request to nigeria Police.
I hereby alert all the girls on this. Attached is how the fraud people using this pretty photos to cheat.
And just be aware, this fraud fellow does not able to differentiate live and leave, this is his typical typo. So when he mimic his son, his son has the same typo. And he will tell his dad is italian, he worked in greece as construction supervisor, then he is now taking over his dad shop in UK. And he is quite good in dress designing...very interesting story line...but be aware, they are asking for money, the ransom they ask me to pay is 20k usd! Then interesting part, is they din call for ransom, they wait you to call to ask for ransom from you...
And MORIS's birthday is 11 dec. And he claims he stays at 42 lympslone garden, peckham, stratford.
I man I met on match.com in mid January is part of an on line dating fraud. His name posted is Caleb Smith from Newtown, PA He told me he was on business in Ghana West Africa and would be back in the states in 3 week.s
We were emailing everyday almost. He appeared to be sincere and charming. He had lost his luggage on his
flight so he ordered some clothes from Dillards in CA and asked me to send them to him after he had them sent to my home address. Unfortunately I did do that. now he is telling me he had to have emergency surgery there
and asked me to wire him $1000.00 for his hospital bill and medication. My story is very similar to other fraud stories I have read on line.

I have been on/off match for several years and most recently have run into a HUGE issue of them claiming I unsubscribed (which I did) then learned several months later they have been billing my credit card at the same amount as signed-up for previously. I had happened accross acharge on my credit card several days after the renewel. Called match.com spoke to Michelle and Theresa (these girls are the sweetest things anyone could hire) they were very king and gracious about my circumstances BUT, under NO circumstances would they refund ANY of my money, with ONLY 2 days into the renewel. I explained to them I have been unsubscribed since May, 2010 and they claimed they have been billing me the entire duration (unbenounced to me)! I requested a copy of my credit card statements and sure enough I have over $300 of unauthorized charges, and moreover, new used their services! Michelle then tells me that I am currently subscribed, I then knew they were operating a con operation. Match.com is able to reinstate, or subscribe a member from their location and especially because they have our credit card on file! I never, ever, received any message as I do with car payments, auto insurance, mortage alerts, from match.com. There is no email for confirmation of payments - zero! They do this on purpose to make money unethically from their members. I asked Michele if the economy has created this dishonesty and unethical billing practices from match? Michelle very sweetly denied it. After learning I was resubscribed AGAIN, I went to the area "my account" I then TRIED to unsubscibe, they request you provide a reason for unsubscribing, you must chose a reason to move to the next question. I said I could not afford this and no longer was interested in on-line dating. A automated response stated that after the renewel period ran out in June, I would then be billed at a lesser amount of $29.99 for the next 3 months after that. There unsubscribe process does NOT allow one to unsubscribe. I contacted the BBB and my credit card company; they are fighting this last charge but, suggests I take them to small claims court for the charges that have spanned over several months that I was unaware of. If you have had a similar experience I highly suggest you file a complaint with the BBB. The more people that do, the better our case.
Let me tell you something...I used Match.com about 3 years ago. No luck, I left. I came back January 2012 and cancelled my membership with at least a week to go in my membership. I was sent an email telling me no further money would be withdrawn and I had until February 6th to re-activate my account if I chose to. Now, just to make sure these people didn't try and debit my account, I made certain my membership was good and cancelled. I essentially cancelled it twice. February 6th I call my bank and see they took $35.99 and as a result of their unauthorized debit, I was popped $38.00 for insufficient funds. I called them immediately and told them they took money our without authorization and as a result, I had a negative balance. I was refunded the money but the customer service rep tried telling me the account was reactivated. In fact EVERYBODY there that I talked to thereafter tried to tell me that. I've been trying for over a month to talk to someone over at Match and all when I finally get a supervisor (I think) on the phone, she tells me they refunded my $35.99 'as a curtesy' and they had no way to refund my insufficient funds (are you reading this, Randa?). I flat out told her they took money out without authorization and they were thieves. She countered by saying they had no way to refund me the $38.00 (Ummm...yes, you do - it's called WRITING A CHECK!) I submitted copies of the emails to my bank with a complaint that I had an authorized debit and I hope my bank can get something from those third-rate zero's.
unauthorised payment
I cancelled my subscription and account and have not been on the site since but found a transaction on my Paypal account of £119.34 on the 18th April - My bank confirm that this transaction was carried out on 16th April at 2200hrs which is when I was at work with no access to the website - I am seriously not happy with Match.com as like a lot of people money is tight at the moment and I literally have to count and account for every penny of my wages!

calling not CULLING...

yah! i know that refund is a bank to bank transaction, the number i gave is the the number that can help us get a fast confirmation of refunding of our money that was pulled out on our account..and i know that it may take 2-14 days for the refund to show up in our bank statement because like what I had said its a bank to bank transaction..and that knowledge comes from FRAUD PREVENTION SPECIALIST by calling them because as soon as their done fixing your problem within 24-48 hours they will send you a confirmation message regarding that refund
here's the number to dial [protected] ) that can help y0u cancel all your account on match.com and refund your money back to your account with 24-48 hours. Rest assure that your concern will be resolve after 24- 48 hours just like my concern. And it's a free of charge.
God Bless!
don't waste your money... it is a rip-off
Match.com doesn't screen its members. My daughter was setup with a man who pretended to be Jim Jones an Italian American from Seattle. He was really a Nigerian Scam artist who joined for the free three day membership and asked my daughter to contact him by instant messenger and e-mail his name is [protected]@yahoo.com. He sent her love letter but hardly ever talked to her on the phone until he went on a mad eup business trip to UK and then call trying to scam her out of $6400 saying he lost his wallet. These ### need to be stopped.
If you are stupid enough to use Match then make sure your match is not on a temporary membership. I have found in different chat rooms numerous scams using match. These creeps are praying on religious people. They use that BS quoting "God this and God that" to get you to believe them.
You need to use E-Harmony at least they scan their members. I meet my husband on e-harmony and we are married for 6 years now. My daughter tried to contact Match.com but they didn't even care.
Don't waste your money...it is a rip-off. You need to use a dating service that is reputable. Most of my friends met someone and got married on e-harmony. It is a wonderful website.
don't waste your money - match.com was good in the 90's.
Its now a haven for scammers. There are more asian and african scammers there than real people.
I joined once and met someone and thought I would try it again. Big mistake.
There are more scammers there than real men or women. Save yourself some heartache and $$$
important
I had subscribed to match.com by a e-check online and it was for the 6month membership and they sent me a confirmation # of [protected] . My email is luvmyskin.[protected]@gmail.com and my mom Maria Turner gave me the check from her account and I am giving her the cash to put in since they charged the full amount of 119.94 . Anyways either way it isn't about the money but I probably would have gone with a plan that didn't charge so much right away. We thought it was the 19.99 bundle for six months and that it would come out once a month for 6 months . Well however they did it we paid in full by check number and I was sent a confirm # and put in the correct login and password and it will not allow me to login at all ! And it keeps driving me back to this page ! I need to know that my account is active and that I can login for what I paid for . I am extremely upset and wondering how it was working earlier today and then just now won't even take the login or password and I have a check floating around with no access to my page . Please let me know A.S.A.P what is going on and why I am not able to login ? And how to resolve this matter .
fraudulent charges
My checking/debit account has been billed $34.99 by WMV*Match.com and I have no relationship whatsoever with that website, or its company. It is obviously a fraud, and I was forced t close that account to prevent further unauthorized debits to occur. Please forward this information to law enforcement authorities for appropriate action.
While checking my credit card statement online, I found a charge for $37.29 to wmv*match.com [protected]. I googled the name and found that many complaints had been filed because of the same kind of charge. I called the number listed, and the company would only "help" if I gave them my credit card number (which I did not give). Thankfully, my credit card company said they would remove the charge and start an investigation into the matter.
If this company is a victim of this scam, too, maybe they need to do something to prevent damage to their name...if they are a part of the scam or refuse to make changes, I hope they go out of business!
don't service african american demographics
Match.com does not offer adequate service for African American matching. Don't waste your money. I called to cancel my 6 month subscription because apparently the site does not service the African American community. I tried the site for 2 months but there were few hits meeting my requirements for an African American match. I called and asked to refund the remaining 4 months because they obviously could not met my need. Instead of crediting my account the remaining 4 months, they insisted that they could not do refunds. Poor customer service. If you can't provide the service, you should be willing to refund the 'unused' portion of the fee. That's all I'm saying.

charging credit card without permission
I signed up for one month of Match.com dating service and paid the higher rate of $39.99 for one month. I even checked the box do no resubscribe. I emailed them a couple of days before my ending date of 3/14/11 and told them I did not want to sign on again. I got a email dtd. 3/17/11 telling me they were sorry that I was leaving, but still they charged my account. I did not use my CC but my debit card, which caused by account to be overdrawn. I received the $39.99 back but not the overdraft fee of $35.00. I tried to negoiate and ask for 1 month free datomg service, they declined. If there is ever a class action suit please include me!

I paid for a 6 month subscription with match.com, had a decent experience, but was waiting for my subscription to run out and to then try another site. Conveniently (for its bottom line if not public reputation) match.com did not send me a reminder or notice that my subscription had expired. Instead they just charged my credit card for $108 for another 6 month subscription. I was unhappy that they had automatically charged me, but stunned that when I called they wouldn't reverse the charge, or even reduce the amount to what it would cost for the month and a half that I had access to the account (access I wasn't interested in having). The customer service rep just kept saying "sorry, it's in our policies, " then his supervisor said the same things just much more argumentatively. She escalated the conflict, then passed me off to someone else who gave me a credit for about half the amount. I won't recommend match.com to anyone as their automatic charge and no refund "policy" seems underhanded and unfriendly to me.
Match.com should change its policy and practice with regard to aggressive revenue generation, and should process refunds without chewing out their customers and turning us into ambassadors for any other dating site but theirs.
total fraud and scam
Just my opinion, based on recent experiences, but I joined Match.com about 2.5 months ago (the first time I ever paid for an internet dating service) and I feel very strongly that Match.com is generating its own user profiles to give the appearance that there are many others using their site. You wouldn't believe the number of profiles that match with me that suddenly disappear overnight and then new ones miraculously appear the next day and then vanish again. I e-mailed about 40 different users, simply asking if they'd respond to confirm they're actual people, and 100% of those resulted in either bogus, generic replies, instructing me to reply to them outside of Match.com at another dating website (which I'd have to pay for, naturally) or they'd provide a bizarre e-mail address, probably trying to phish so they can spam me to death.
Not only that, but Match.com's whole site is very poorly designed when you really start trying to use it, and it takes forever to do the simplest things.
IMO, it's nothing but a scam...
sets you up for failure
Having been a Match.com customer for awhile I can honestly comment that I have met many men to date, but they have set me up for failure. They have technical issues. I can't say they are doing this on purpose and I have reported it several times but it has not be addressed. It's frustrating when you start dating someone on the site and after dating them for many months they want to know why you are always "signed in". I can understand why they might be upset and although I can honestly say that I did stop looking at other profiles after we started dating, but the site keeps signing me in none the less! I lost my last boyfriend off the site to this, but I think my present boyfriend, from the site believes me. Still they're going to "blow it" for me if they don't stop signing me in. Putting the auto-sign in on "off", and hiding my profile didn't work. I get the feeling that they don't want me to succeed. The technical issue to watch for in that if you should open "any" of their email to your address, you will get logged in and remain signed in so check that.

Match.com is a bogus dating service. They never provide contact information or send emails to the people that you intend them for. In addition, they have a fake battery of "Russian women" who write to try to entice men to come back or write back after subscriptions are canceled. Recently I received two identical emails from different "women in Russia" so this is quite obviously a scam.
Match.com is a piece of garbage. I am an attractive man with an awesome sense of humor/personality, I sent over 1, 200 messages and couldn't get 1 date, the site posts fake model profiles that send you winks but when you reply not a single one responds. AVOID MATCH. COM LIKE THE PLAGUE. I paid for 6 months up front but deleted my account after 7 weeks.
you sent 1200 messages and couldn't get a date? You must be a real winner...
Recently had a lovely female from Ghana became friend, and what do you know she want to move here and needs $$, She was friends for only a couple of days and sent me all sorts of risky pictures, even wanted me to send her a phone so we could talk, or a laptop. She even sent me a copy of her Passport.
What's the best way to say see ya later alligator...
Please watch out for a man whol claims his name is Mantero Luiz. Originally from Germany he claims to live in West Palm Beach, Florida. Other attributed include being 51, widowed, owner of Manteroluiz yacht company (had a website and everything). He didn't manage to get any of the money he claimed he needed whol on a business trip in Dubai, but stole my dignity. This is not a dating sites fault! The site is being used by thieves! I hope this warning pops up if anyone else googles his name! Stay away! He doesn't exist!
He recently contacted me but said he was from Switzerland that he owned and built yacht engines. Money was not brought up. But he did ask me if I owned my own home.
Now he is Luiz Mantero from CT, but grew up in Switzerland. He says he repairs yacht engines. He was on ourtime but was kicked off because he tried to describe his phone number in him profile. He wanted my ourtime login information so he could cancel my membership. i.e. identify theift.
I too have been attempted to be scammed by someone who posted fake profiles on match. Women profiles. Usually widowed, self employed, and currently out of the country on business. They will divert you to yahoo messenger and then develop a relationship. After a few days an emergency will develop where they are in need of money unexpectedly. One even sent me a very official looking flight Itinerary from Klm airlines. They only gave up trying to get money from me when I told them to send a supposed check they were going to forward me directly to my bank! they got spooked.
Wouldn't you know a couple of days later I hit another womans profile ran by the same scammers. Once again directed to yahoo messenger. once they recognized my username there all contact stopped. If you are on match be very careful!
I also believe there are tons of fake profiles there put up by match themselves. Over 110 emails sent out by me . got 2 real responses. One person with enough class to write back with a sincere decline. One who I did meet but swear was just a member who gets paid by match to meet members to bolster their success rates. This person admitted she was contacted by match for advertising. She kept acting interested but would never meet again, always an excuse, never a "I just don't wish to persue a relationship" but just the opposite. Even after being asked out right if she wished to meet anymore.. When I go to cancel they are going to say that I had a match and I broke it off.
All those in defending Match.com are wrong. There is no defense for their actions.. Theft by deception is theft by deception. This site exploits vulnerable people due to greed and it's wrong.
Period. I wasted about two years of my life (literally hundreds and hundreds of hours responding to fake profiles) and hundreds of dollars as well on this site. They are robbing people of their discretionary time-their precious quality free time off work that can never be gotten back. All the site did for me in 2 years is help me become a better writer.
I'm so glad to hear they will have their day in court. Sign me up. Send the higher-ups to prison where they belong. And this has nothing to do with being bitter about love. Nobody likes to be manipulated or stolen from. It's that simple.
Now you have heard the truth, and if you delete this, then, you too, are an accomplice and will have to live your life knowing you have contributed to, yet more corporate greed and corruption. Strong choice of words or what truth feels like when you hear it? The later I think.
These are people's lives and heart-felt emotions we are taking about as being at stake. Love lives and the basic human desire for companionship that have now been compromised-the suit has nothing to do with money. The suit is about right and wrong.
I was targeted by a "man" who had a grudge against my ex-husband for courting his then girlfriend in 1989. He pursued me extensively and I admit said all of the right things. We went out on several dates after many phone conversations. It was all a set up to "get back" at my ex. We started to get intimate but something inside me called a halt to it. I later found out he left out of his bio he prefers men. To say I feel violated is an understatement. I have removed myself from Match.
Match.com, just like any other business with an IT/IS department has the ability to block IP addresses. They can view the IP address of everyone who subscribes and creates a profile. This isn't to be sneaky, but it can be used for the good of the website. I work in the IT department (not at Match) as a systems architect and this is basic 101 type stuff. Match has the ability to block the abusers from ever gaining access to their website again by blocking their IP address from gaining access to the Match mail/profile servers. However, Match doesn't do this. They allow the abusers to continually gain access again, even after Match does shut down their fake profiles. The abuser just creates a new profile again. Most of these fake profiles are trying to get your email address to get you to subscribe to their own porn websites. They will send an email to you (using the FREE 3-day trial on Match) asking for your email address, and afterwards they email you a link to their porn sites. Esentially, Match promotes this because they will not put blocks in place to prevent the repeat offenders from ever doing this again. If Match.com is reading this, please tell your IT department to fire to bozo's you have working there and hire a professional staff that knows how to clean up the crap that your current staff ignores.
Yeah 2days world, very easy to get someones personal info.. happens every hour... So dont make it any easier for them.. Internet, not a safe-net...again...
cannot log in
I tried to log into my account several times (5) without success. I rechecked my username and password, and even checked "forgot my password" to get a reply via email. They informed me that my username and password were the same ones I had tried earlier...I returned to their site, and tried again...Try # 6 with MY CORRECT username and password, and I STILL COULD NOT log into MY account, for which I am being charged.
I tried loggin into my account but could not. I was asked to send my mail address, i did but yet no reply.
unknown charges
I have no idea who these people are and how they have come by my credit card no. Withdrawal of 39.65Euros has been made and the bank are telling me here in Spain, that they will try and track it to cancel it. Do I really need to cancel my credit card?
