Roof truss
Purchased 49 roof trusses from them through menards. I am a contractor who has been a devoted menards customer and have spent millions with them over a span of 9 years.
These trusses I purchased all had plate issues and were not manufactured to the correct size per their engineered specs. I requested they replace the trusses through the gm at menards and he said they wouldn't. So they agreed to replace 10 and I asked for a partial refund so I could repair and fix the trusses and add wood to sister for tails so we could make the overhangs proper. They replaced 10 trusses and told me they were gonna do nothing more for me. Midwest is a menards company and they should do whats right. They did not give me what I purchased and performed extremely poorly in customer satisfaction. I even have seen video recording with one of there reps taking measurements and admitting they were not correct sizes.. Do not buy from menards if your looking for quality trusses! If it comes from midwest run the other way.
Desired outcome: 50% minimum refund of the amount I spent .
Ultradeck
Ultradeck advertises that its product does not warp which was the sole basis of my buying their product over other leading competitors. I have purchased over $5000 in ultradeck product and we discovered several boards not cutting straight. We called several contractors out thinking we were doing something wrong only to learn that the product is actually warped which is what was causing the issues with cuts. We had several contractors out who told us they see warping all the time with ultradeck and I needed to complain to get my money back due to the fact there wasn’t anything I could do other than replace the entire deck. I reached out to ultradeck and was connected with Shane who has refused to provide me with his supervisors information and who is ignoring the fact the product is warped. I purchased a brand new board from Menards brought it home, laid it down on the cement and took pictures to show the warping on products directly from the Menards warehouse. This board was not altered in anyway and in my possession for less than an hour and during 70 degree weather and it was clearly warped. Furthermore, ultradeck shared with me the storage requirements which includes not stacking the products higher than 12 inches which they themselves do not do. I think the fact that they don’t follow their storage guidelines is contributing to the warping of the product. However, regardless of that fact, they advertise their product does not warp when it most certainly does even when laying on concrete in 70 degree weather. They are trying to blame improper installation despite me having 5 contractors out who have installed numerous ultradeck jobs and have confirmed nothing is wrong with or done improperly with installation but that the product itself warps and is garbage. This company need to stand by it’s guarantee and given it warps provide refunds for those impacted by warped items.
Desired outcome: Refund
faulty door, lock set side
The lockset edge of the door has a too large gap at lock and strike plate area.
Purchase date : 11/02/19. Menards, Glendale Heights, Ill.
Installed 11/25/19. Used as double door configuration, as shown. top and bottom is correct gap. Full metal door (PH32X80 LH SN ; SKU #414-0333) at lockset is way to large. There is no way to adjust for this. Would like replacement door.

mastercraft door
After purchasing a mastercraft exterior door in july 2018, the 3 point lock system failed in may 2019. To exit our cabin, we crawled out a window. The lock was stuck, and inoperable from the inside and outside. This door was brand new, on an end cap at the virginia mn menard's store, and considered a "display" or "bargain", "as is" unit. This door never left the store until we bought it. Hence midwest manufacturing will not compensate us for this defective door. Why sell any product if you can't cover your liabilities for a failed item? Lip service from company reps is the compensation that was offered. Good thing there wasn't an emergency that morning when trying to exit our cabin...
implied and express warranty not honored
This is my personal WARNING if you are thinking about buying Mastercraft doors made by MidWest Manufacturing. Mastercraft (MC) doors are made by MidWest Manufacturing (MW), a company owned by Menards, Inc. They do not tell you this in the sales process. To me they play down other door manufactures they carry in comparison to the Mastercraft (MC) doors. The...

Composite decking is drastically different. Colors are different, Surface is different. Water beads on some boards & wet on one beside it. Menards won't stand behind it & neither does Midwest manufacturing. Midwest letter says this is normal.
poor quality
Midwest manufacturing makes mastercraft doors and sells thru menards. Long story short: we bgt five (5) mastercraft french doors for new construction. Every single one leaked horribly. Spent 4 weeks dealing with this company to return & reimburse for approx $2k in additional expenses dealing with this nightmare. Canned letters from the company saying "sorry for incovenience" "thank for your patience"... They "will be unable to offer a refund". Caution when buying special order anything thru menards and do not buy mastercraft french doors... Such poor, poor quality. You will be sorry. Learn from our expensive mistake... Contractors in our parts aptly call mastercraft= mastercrap & mastershaft. How true!
