I am complaining about service call price and my credit that I have not received.
I called Mr. Quentin out to my home July 2nd, 2018, I was told by his office personnel that he would come out on Tuesday July 3, 2018. The page does not state a service call fee, this lead me to think about not calling, because they apparently have something to hide and they do. When a company is not transparent usually they are scammers, and they charge what they want at will and plenty people have fallen prey to this company.
I was told over the phone the service call along with a diagnostic would be $89.00, if I use Mr. Appliance for the repair of which I call then, the service would be waived and I would only pay for the repairs. I was not given a diagnostic because I already knew from the last repair exactly what the problem was, so I told him what I thought was wrong because it was the terminal blocker that caused the outage the last time. Mr. Quentin, took a photo of the model and the series number.
Mr. Quentin asked me did I want the range to be repaired, and I told him yes, but then he told me that the repairs would be $258.00, and that I would have to pay half of the price up front. I did not question it because I needed my range repaired. I paid $128.00 by check. My check was immediately cash before 2:30 PM on July 3rd and he told me that would come back on Thursday because Wednesday, July 4th 2018. I called and canceled my appointment for Thursday July 5, 2018 and I told Florine that I had a changed of mind because being senior citizen, I am on fixed income and could not afford to pay that amount. I then ask for my credit and for Mr. Quentin to make adjustment the service call because Mr. Quentin did not do a diagnostic at all. He took a photo of the data located on the door of the range. I am asking for a full refund. I am writing the Consumer Fraud division of the government.
payment requirements by mr. appliance
Forcing the consumer to Pay in full for appliance repair when parts have to be ordered a not in the best interest of the consumer. This is not the norm in the industry and requiring upfront payment will force selecting a different service organization which I assure I will do the next time service is required on any of my appliances. Your company is not the only choice in the book.
dishwasher service
Buyer beware! Original problem was leaking water and not cleaning dishes satisfactorily. Three visits, $320 wasted. Problems were worse after "repairs"! Ordered part, charged me in advance. Installed part, made problem worse. Removed part and left. Telephone agent was rude and not responsive to my request for a price adjustment. They claim to record every call. Be careful what they say. Never, never use this "service company" again!
Had repairman out to fix Kitchen Aid dishwasher. Said it was the main motor and would be 450$. Decided not to repair because can buy a new one for less so paid the 96$ service call fee. Contacted Kitchen Aid to complain because dishwasher is only 1 1/2 years old and the offered to repair (too bad I didn’t do this first!) The repairman came out and said he only needed to reset the panel (no repair or parts needed) and it works just like new. Mr. Appliance is either incompetent or a crook! DO NOT USE!

Mr. Appliance of Spring TX service call cost me $142.50. — Two guys (senior guy plus a trainee) come at 400p to look at refrigerator and microwave. — Before he moves switch to ON, senior guy spends 1/2 hour trying to train younger guy and to diagnose ice-maker which I had turned off for safety reasons after detecting problem with refrigerator side cooling. — Senior guy says side-by-side GE Profile not blowing air on refrigerator side, which will be almost $500 to fix. He doesn't say how or why. I press for details. He finally says that he never fixed one of these and that he doesn't know how to do a fan changeout. $95 wasted. — The senior guy then tried to heat a cup of water in the microwave, after I told him it was not heating. He then tells me it's going to cost $600 to fix the microwave for labor and a new magnetron, diode and capacitor. I pressed him for details on the parts and he says $450 for the magnetron, which I knew from checking with GE parts was only $95. — At 445p they leave after telling me they would get right back to me with a description of the problems and an estimate to repair after the part comes in. Three days later, still no feedback. — This occurred in Texas, where people get shot for being [censored]. This is not a threat, just an observation. So, I figure it's just a matter of time before the level of advancing lawlessness will remove such rip-off [censor] from the earth.
"This occurred in Texas, where people get shot for being [censored]." After the events that occurred this weekend, you should be ashamed for placing such a statement within the 'complaint.' Frankly, it gives the complaint absolutely no credibility.
lg tromm washer machine not running properly
A so called, repair technician came to our house for our LG Tromm Washer Machine not running properly. When he arrived he started our washer machine, my wife informed him the display previously had a "LE error code". Without any additional troubleshooting, he diagnosed it "a bad stator and bad rotor".
Wow, impressive! Never did he open the back panel to the washer to visibly look at anything, never did he test the rotor position sensor, never did he test the "so called" bad stator or look at the rotor. Definitely some of the most impressive diagnostic skills I've ever seen.
When I questioned the man, (so called service technician) about the "LE error code" was it a bad rotor positioning sensor, he said the sensor would also get replaced with the rotor and stator. When I questioned the man how he determined the rotor was bad, he stated his determination was based on sound. Interesting... Then I questioned him about how he determined the stator was also bad, he replyed they are both bad and need replaced. Interesting...
We had the rotor positioning sensor replaced, only the rotor positioning sensor replaced. That took care of the problem, No rotor, No stator, No $500+ repair fee.
Just like the LG troubleshooting diagnostic error code suggested, it was a bad sensor!
The diagnostic charge was $89.00. For what? To have some man randomly pick items to replace that are not bad? Or is this the way Mr. Appliance operates, to extort, swindle, overcharge vulnerable customers?
Perhaps when diagnosing and determining items are faulty or bad, your technicians should actual verify it first, not just assume or guess or is this how you operate.
I am also requesting a refund for the $89.00, "Diagnostic Charge". Ticket # 1949711
I could not be more disappointed with Mr. Appliance and the way this all took place!

washing machine repair
Mr. Appliance of Rochester claims on their web page, that they “ Deliver fast service and exceptional quality results” which is the furthest from the truth from my own experience along with other people that posted negative Google reviews. Mr. Appliance sent and inexperienced technician to my home May 5, 2017. He spent the majority of the time on the phone having to refer to his office for technical assistance. He ultimately diagnosed the problem that my washing machine had a faulty water pump and said the part would be in on the following Monday 10th 2017. I called the company back on Monday when he did not show up to repair the washing machine and the office manager informed me that he was new and the part could take a week or more to arrive at their facility. I waited almost 2 weeks for the part may 30th 2017 for the pump to come in and be installed. They ordered an additional part which took another week or two which they claimed repaired the washing machine. My wife came back from the in-laws in Syracuse and decided to wash the clothes considering that Mr. appliance assured us the washing machine was finally repaired after more than a month of dealing with their incompetence. She started the wash and left the house to do some shopping. She came home to a laundry room and kitchen area covered in water because the washing machine leaked all over the floor which never happened prior to their valve replacement. I told them I was disputing the charge of approximately $280 for the service call and parts and offered them the washing machine which they declined to pick up. I was willing to just get a refund on the service call and parts that did not solve the problem which they initially agreed to and then proceeded to challenge my dispute. I am now taking them to small claims court for the service charges and the repair of the wood floor damage which is $5400 which does not include the cost of moving all the downstairs furniture out of the house and the expense of staying in a hotel for 3 to 4 days. They advertise quality service which is a joke and to suggest that they provide fast service is ridiculous. I recommend staying away from this company for any appliance service calls or any local retailers that use Mr. appliance for extended service contracts. Unless the appliance provides a specific error code that pinpoints the problem they seem to randomly replace parts which is not expeditious or cost-effective and ultimately leads to extensive downtime and costly repairs
Mr. Appliance of Rochester (registered business name-expert appliance service) claims on their web page, that they “ Deliver fast service and exceptional quality results” which is the furthest from the truth from my own experience along with other customers that posted negative reviews on both BBB and Google. washer
Mr Appliance showed up on time and wore their shoe covers. They did remove a piece of metal from my machine. I did not recognize the metal piece. They charged me $177. My washer ran a cleaning cycle and then I tried to do a load of clothes. It got stuck at the same place in the cycle. I called them back. They said it needed a drain motor and that would be $175 for the part and no labor charge. I looked up the part myself on appliancepartspro.com and it only cost $109.I have been able to wash clothes using the less used cycles on my machine. I think it's the mother board and not the drain cycle.
They quoted me $720 to repair my dishwasher that had 4 broken wheels. I fixed it myself for less than $35.00 and it works perfectly. I have never done anything like that before, but I am no dummy either!
While Mr. Appliance was in my home to repair my washing machine the week of 7-13-17 and had to return to take another look at it the next week, I asked them to give me a quote on my dishwasher. It wasn't very old, but the warranty had expired. The problem was that the top rack wheels would not stay on and therefore it kept falling down. It would not run because of that. They took the model number and wrote down a quantity of items they said were needed to make the repair. He quoted me $720.00! I could buy a new dishwasher for little more than that.
I went to appliancepartspro. com and ordered the repair kit for less than $35.00 and fixed it in about 30 minutes. I would not use them or recommend them to anyone based on my experiences.
this is a very high priced, self serving, non reliable company.
Technician arrived over an hour early, outside of scheduled arrival window. Prices were more than double 7 other repair companies I later called. All refrigerator needed was a $50 water valve in icemaker. Repair would have cost me well over $250. The techiciansaw fit to tell me how he recommended I not fix it but to buy a used refrigerator from the for $250 That came with a 90 day warranty. The repair on my stove was priced at over double what 4 other companies quoted and over what I got it repaired for. Be forewarned before calling this company.
poor service, unprofessional and likely scam artists
I hired Mr. Appliance of Boca Raton to repair a dryer in January 2017. They came out found the problem and gave me an estimate. They stated they needed to order a part and needed a deposit of $170. I called multiple times to find out if they part was delivered and to schedule the repair. I finally spoke to some days later who said the repair was schedule the following week. When the tech arrived for the repair he said that he couldn't do the repair, because he couldn't move my dryer. He left and I made attempts to call the company and speak with a supervisor regarding the matter and did not receive a phone call back at all. I finally spoke with the tech 2 days later and expressed my frustration and he stated that his supervisor approved a full refund and they would cancel the service. After 2 weeks I did not receive the refund as promised and attempted to contact the company regarding the matter. I did not receive any phone calls back and was told that they would "look into it" Due to the lack of response by the company I filed a complaint with the BBB in February. Eventually I was told my refund was approved "A while ago" and they didn't know why I hadn't received the check and that they would "look into it" Without any return call I was then told that they had to speak to the bookeeper about the issue of why the check wasn't issued. A week later I was finally told by the company that they had my check, but would not send it until I removed my online complaint with the BBB. I refused and asked to speak with the supervisor about it. Since that time I have made numerous attempts to speak with "Mike" the supervisor who is always out of the office and they state they will give him the message. At this point they are sending all of my calls to voicemail and completely ignoring my calls and messages to resolve the matter.
washer machine and refrigerator
They came and fixed my wash machine, charged me 470.00. Then it messed up the same day. Came back the same day and fixed it. Then 3 weeks
After my refrigerator broke, so I called them again. They came out and charged me 369.00 dollars. So it's only been a week, now my washer is broke again and the next day the refrigerator broke again. Both of these items needed the main computer boards, almost 1000.00 worth of parts. Now they need to come back out again. I am on a tight budget as it is, nobody has money to replace all kinds of parts.
appliance repair
If you don't like being surprised by an excessive price of repair, stay away from mr. Appliance. They fixed two refrigerators and ended up charging me $3, 200! Yes, you are reading this right. Three thousand two hundred us dollars to repair two refrigerators. And just to be clear, total work time was about 5-6 hours. You do the math!
I thought maybe the mr. Appliance guy looked at my house (Its nice) or saw that I was a single woman, and decided he could charge what he wanted, but then when I asked the repairman about it, he said he charged that kind of price 7 repairs a day to customers. I had already given him $1000 to start (Which I thought was insane) and he completed the repair before I got the final bill. I was stuck, but you are not. Run from these guys, the other repairmen may be less clean and not as polite, but you might also save thousands.
I note that none of the posted reviews I read really dealt with how mr. Appliance charges. Now I know why, these guys are crazy expensive and don't really care. They think it is normal to charge thousands for a simple repair. If you care anything about your finances, shop around, or better yet, just buy a new appliance - - it would have been simpler and cheaper for me if I had done that instead.

poor quality and poor service
Used Mr. Appliance of Susquehanna Valley, York, PA 17402, [protected]. to work on my Viking oven Lenny, who is the franchisee, fixed it a year ago. It stopped working again, so I called him back and we set up an appointment where I had to sit there and wait for him. He did not show up. He called me and said he needed to call Viking tech support for advice. He never called back. I wanted to use him because he was familiar with the issue. I called back not less than 8 times and the receptionist assured me that he would call back. The last time I tried was three days ago and still have not heard from him. My advice: STAY AWAY FROM mR. aPPLIANCE! They are a horrible company.
ge refrigerator repair and service
On a Wednesday afternoon visit I found my Mother of 85 years’ refrigerator to be running but not cooling and I called Mr. Appliance for repair in Boca Raton, FL. Upon diagnosis I was told the refrigerator needed a new “Control Board” and an “ Evaporator Fan” which was not running to cool the refrigerator, estimate given to me after my new customer $25 coupon, $711, stating half was needed to be paid now for the order of the parts tomorrow, Thursday and that I would be contacted between 10 AM and 2 PM on Friday to advise if the parts were available and when they could be installed. On Friday at 9:18 AM I was called by the repair tech Angel and advised he was at my Mother’s house to install the parts and then at 9:33 AM to let me know he’d finished and was leaving, the balance due for completion charged to my Mother’s credit card. After arriving at my Mother’s I found her refrigerator not cooling any better than on Wednesday when I called for help and repair. The repair tech did not respond to or answer any calls from either me or his office supervision for the remainder of the day on Friday to even find out what he did or did not do albeit paid in full for the repair. It was later found that the only part really necessary to make the frig work being the “Evaporator Fan”, $13.45 @ GE Parts, was never ordered or installed. My Mother needing to keep prescriptions refrigerated was without her refrigerator for a week, 5½ more days after paying in full. Don’t ever call Mr. Appliance.
Washing MAchine
I have made numerous calls and have gotten awful customer service from Mr Applaince. They are the NASTIEST most incompetent group I have ever have never gone on line to complain about anyone until Mr Appliacne came into my life I would NEVER NEVER recommend using them
ge refrigerator
I had a serviceman, Spencer, come out & did not touch my refrigerator. I opened the doors to show him there was water leaking under the deli drawer. He went over to his IPAD click in some numbers, turned it around to show me $436.00 to fix. I asked how do you know, you haven't even touched the refrigerator. He knew. I paid the $79.99 + tax, which I shouldn't have, and he was on his way. This company is nothing but a pure scam. I spoke to GE & they told me what the serviceman had told me was the problem was not in anyway the way the problem should be resolved.
This happened on 4/11/16.
This price was for diagnostic testing which I never got. I spoke with the manager, Andy Johnson. He said that the serviceman should have done more & that he would send out another serviceman to review. They never came so I called & cancelled the appointment. I was afraid they were not qualified to fix after I spoke to GE. I believe I should get a refund since they did absolutely nothing but drive to my home.
whirlpool dryer repair
Called for repair and showed up next day, took a total of 5 minutes to tell me what I had already known, In need of new motor due to the mechanism that holds the belt onto the motor sheared off and the belt needed replacing..Tried to tell the woman that when made appt., did not want to hear.
Was told by tech that that could have overnighted part for extra $100. ok'd.Spoke with customer service next day and was told they do not overnight and would be there tomorrow.Different tech showed up with motor but no belt, be back tomorrow. No sense in putting in motor without replacing belt.
Next day, showed up with motor and belt.Tech could not remove old motor unless he was to break the blower housing. Now I was told that I needed a new blower housing and would have to wait until the following week.
We paid $100. deposit for work and parts and received the run around for almost a week.My advise to anyone who reads this is to stay far away from this outfit.Lack of appliance knowledge has put us without use of a dryer for a week.If they had looked further into the job the first day there probably would be no issue.
Horrible all the way around.Absolutely no clue all the way around, what a joke.
gas range repair
The original service call to repair my range was on 8/18. The repairman appeared polite and efficient. He told me the repair cost would be $330. He ordered parts twice and returned twice to work on the range. Getting the parts delayed the process and added to the expense. The repairs were not effective. The range still does not function properly. Mr. Appliance now says that we are outside their service area and will not respond to our emails or telephone messages. They are not willing to finish the job and I am out more than $800. The map on their website shows our home to be within their service area. I have complained to the Better Business Bureau, but Mr. Appliance did not respond to them. I also used the dispute resolution service on Angie's List, but again there was no response from the company. I have also asked American Express to reverse the charges to my credit card. The $838 in total charges includes a relatively small charge for fixing the door on my dryer. I was not given receipts so I’m not sure which of the six separate charges it is. I will be happy to submit copies of my American Express receipts if this is helpful.
frigidaire warranty repair
I set up an appointment through Frigidaire with Mr. Appliance as they are a local authorized warranty repair company. They were set to arrive between 12:00 and 4:00 PM. They never showed up for the appointment and never called to say that they could not make it. I called after 4:00 PM to see what happened and was told that the tech could not make it that day. I set up a new appointment for the following Friday between 9:00 AM and Noon. They did not show up or call for this appointment. This time when I called nobody answered the phone. I have been without a refrigerator for 2 weeks now and I still don't know when it will be repaired.
poor customer service
Mr appliance repair person Randy came to my home for a repair in doing so he broke the oven/display on 10/12/2015.. I have made numerous calls and have gotten poor customer service at best excessive holding no return call from Ashley Ellen up to and including the franchise owner Tammy Walls they are the worst ! It's like a joke to them no one cares that...
