misdiagnosed problem & broke my oven in process & will not repair or return calls
We called Mr. Appliance b/c a light was broken on my Viking stove. Not only did it take 6 months and 4 appointments to repair the light but they broke my bake feature on my oven! After agreeing to order the 3rd part that they "think" will repair the oven- they won't take our phone calls, return our messages and none the less schedule an appointment to fix the problem they made!
broken dishwasher
Mr. Appliance came out to fix our broken dishwasher. They said that it needed a new pump. We took a second day off of work for them to put this pump in but they did not run a full cycle and as soon as they left we realized that the dishwasher still didn't work. We had paid them 249 dollars. We went around and around with them and finally had the dishwasher fixed by another company. Mr Appliance has hung up on me three times, refused to answer my call, and actually sat the phone down for twenty minutes refusing to speak with me. They will not refund any of the 249 dollars even though they claim to guarantee all of their parts and labor.
washer
We hired them to fix our washer . He shows up says he thinks its the motherboard but when he calls it in they tell him to order a cheaper part . It takes 5 days for the part to show up plus 3 days for him to show up to install . Well it was still broke .. So again he shows up same thing another 5 days n then 3 days ... Still not fixed so the last time he shows up and says It has to be the motherboard .. We will order it but it may take a few weeks to get here someone will call to let you know how long it will take . They never called back ... We called over and over asking when will the part be in and was told I'm not sure I'll look into it and call you back . The one time they DID call back it was by mistake . She told me Oh sorry I called the wrong customer let me call you back and once again didn't ... So after being fed up with the run around and being lied to we looked up the part and found out it was on a 6 month national back order . The site advertises we have your repair parts and ship with in 24 hrs and they are honest ... We are still trying to get our money back from them ! So this whole thing took over a month still no call back from them ..

dryer repair
BUYER BEWARE! Mr Appliance came to my home to repair a lack of heat issue with my dryer near the end of 2012. The technician was very nice and while he was here he sold me a 3 year service contract on my washer and dryer. Shortly after he left, the dryer no longer heated again. They sent a second person out to repair it and he brought a technician in training. While the technician was outside trying to convince me my dryer vent was overheating my heating element, he had the trainee assemble my dryer. The technician made me feel like it was my fault, so when the dryer started stalling out the next day I did not want to call back.
This went on for about 40 days. When it wouldn't run at all, I had no choice but to call in for service. They sent the very nice (first) technician back this time. It seemed like something was loose and then it just let go. He quickly found the problem and reconnected the front operating panel. It was nothing more than a plug. I looked like a USB plug on a computer and he just plugged it in and closed the dryer back up. It took about 15 minutes total.
I told him my theory that the trainee did not connect it, or that all the disassembling and reassembling had caused it to come loose. He agreed because the plug had a very tight connection and doesn't usually come loose on its own, but told me he needed to charge me more than $100 for the service call because it had been more than 30 days since they had last been out to my house. I told him that did not make any sense. If they caused the problem they should cover the cost of the repair. He agreed and said it was the "office" who wanted me to pay. Since he didn't agree with the charge, he said the office would have to ask me for the money and left. When I didn't hear anything from the office, I figured they had talked to the technician and realized they were responsible.
Several months went by and I got a call from "Larry the Office Manager". He was angry and wanted me to pay the outstanding bill. I told him I thought this had been resolved. I explained what had happened. He told me that they don't provide coverage to my town and acted like they had done me a favor by coming out. I asked him why my location didn't come up when they were selling me a service agreement. He said he would take another look at the situation and get back to me.
So, here we are in early 2014. I went to use my dryer this morning and it worked fine for the first load, but when I went to start it for the 2nd load it wouldn't tumble and sounded like the motor had gone. I went to call Mr. Appliance and was informed by "Larry the Office Manager" that they would not honor my contract because I never paid them back in 2012 and they had refunded me the money for the contract. I told them I never received any money nor notification that they had canceled my contract. He said he didn't have time to look into it and they weren't going to service my dryer.
Outside of the one honest technician that originally came to my house, I have had nothing trouble with Mr. Appliance. Originally, I got connected with them because they provided service, for the extended warranty, I bought from Best Buy when I purchased my washer and dryer. SO, BUYER BEWARE OF MR. APPLIANCE! They will cost you more than other service companies.
While I have been writing this, I have purchased a 1 year contract with Sears and they are coming to do the repair this afternoon. Unfortunately, if I had been notified of the cancellation, I would have gotten a 2 year contract for less money.

Cooktop has not been able to be properly repaired for many months after numerous service calls. Manager never returned phone call. Finally last night it exploded while cooking. Wife was injured. Gas company was called and said the unit was still leaking.
Never have this company service anything! They are poor with follow-up and the repairs they make, maybe life threatening.
incomplete order yet fully billed
My initial order placed with DOUG of business concerned was for 2 Miele Hepa cat/dog filter o/n 23781 of 28/2/13 for which I was charged $61•40. The goods arrived promptly, but were NOT original Miele filters & the filter didn't fitin vaccum. I rang the company & spoke to DOUG--even sent him picture of model required & he stated that they only had 1 in stock of correct size which he was despatching & that I should return the 2 size ones in return post paid envelope he was sending with the correct size filter, he also indicated that when they received new stock he would send me a 2nd filter. I duly returned the 2 incorrect size filters & to date I have given run around by this company who state that Doug no'longer works for them & I have now been receiving emails from an ASHLEYwho has been promising to finalise this matter, even to credit my a/c for initial charge + the posting out of 2 new filters after I told business that I was going to Consumer Affairs with my complaint.
My complaint against mr appliance of 23/04/13 has been settled amicably--thet have credited my visa card for the initial amount charged & have indicated that 2 new vaccum filters have been posted to me, which I should receive by 27/4/13.
Many thanks to Complaints Board web forum.

DO NOT SE THIS COMPANY -THEY CHARGE DOBLE WHAT OTHER APPLIANCE COMPANIES CHARGE AND DONT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM CORRECTLY OR REPAIR IT-THEN THEY WANT TO CHARGE AGAIN TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX WHAT YOU HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR -BIG SCAM
WISH I HAD READ THE BBB COMPLAINTS BEFORE I CALLED THEM
I agree they are CROOKS. The service man came and diagnose the problem, then he said he had to order a part. Part came back wrong, then he had to order it again. They never called, but they took my deposit. Today I called them to cancel the service and demand my deposit back. They are truly CROOKS. Monday I will be going to the State's Attorney Office and file a complaint to get my deposit back.Every time he came I made notes of the time and what he did and didn't do.My mother called them out of the phone book, I told not to do that, you need references. DO NOT GO TO MR. APPLIANCE THEY ARE CROOKS.
Fraud. Breach of contract, criminal ineptness
Mr. Appliance willfully misreported the accurate description of a condition of a dishwasher that they were contracted to repair. They did not inform the warranty company, Total Protect, that the pump was broken but instead told them that there were screws installed incorrectly on the kick plate. They were verbally abusive, lied about the actual steps taken to diagnise the problem and were hellbent on denying the claim. I think they get a kickback on all claims they get from Total Protect-who they have a contract with. I have ADT security indoor monitoring and the repairman lied about the steps that he claimed he took-- the camera says otherwise. I am taking the tape to the Attorney General's Office as well as the Federal Trade Commission. I have several taped calls with the warranty company as well. someone needs to deel with these one star wonders on this site and I am going to do it---legally. I may bring a class action suit so please continue to post your problems with either Total Protect or their #1 side kick, Mr. Appliance. It is no surprise that these two have deplorable ratings. I can't believe I got suckered into a one month contract with Total Protect that brought me into contact with The Appliance company, but sometimes things happen for a reason.
mr appliance charged $65.00 for a service charge that was diagnosed wrong
Mr Appliance charged $65.00 for a service charge that was diagnosed wrong and refused to come out again to give proper diagnosis of the problem without another $65.00 service charge. I replaced the ONE PLUG timer that they said was wrong with it and it did not work. The owner said that I should not have fixed it myself and paid them about what a new washer...
