On November 4, 2017 I took my friends 2009 Chev. Equinox with 15, 000 Km. in for an oil change.
Immediately upon the hood being opened, the "mechanic" tore out the cabin air filter. He said it needed to be replaced, but upon checking it against the outside daylight, it was virtually as clean as a new filter. I told him it was fine but he insisted it needed to be replaced.
He then proceeded to check the undercarriage of the vehicle and stated; "The rear portion of the vehicle needs some touchup rustproofing. He had a special price of $109.00...regularly $139.00. I told him to forget it.
Finally he got around to checking the oil dipstick and said the oil was OK and didn't need an oil change.
I asked about the engine anti-freeze temperature range and he said they're all guaranteed up to 100, 000 Km. ?
So it cost me $81.35 for a cabin air filter that sells at the dealership for $32.95.
Goodbye Mr. Lube... your days are certainly numbered !
your staff broke the dipstick tube on my bmw
regina sk, albert st north. roy, when i tried to bring this to his attention he became belligerent and out right refused to acknowledge that he or his staff had broken the tube. it was recently in the shop and had a 3000.00 repair to the engine (valve cover gaskets etc..) and was not broken when i picked up the vehicle! this man roy should not be a MGR at all!his people skills are poor at best, and his tone and body language resembles that of a gangster!
you can contact me in regards to this matter at [protected]
At least your dip stick was likely put back in place, broken or not. My Dip Stick was put back beside where it should be at Regina East Mr Lube Location. Had my oil changed - no fluids topped up by the way, on my wife's car - 05 G35X. The next day my wife told me the car was smoking and my son had to leave the car when they stopped to get a pizza for my birthday due to a burning smell in the car. I checked it out today - the dip sick was NOT put back in the engine - it was placed beside the dipstick port(?) thereby allowing dirt and what not to enter the motor and oil to leave the motor. Looked under the car and discovered the splash shield (under the motor) was covered in oil and oil dripping onto the driveway! Will take back tomorrow and see what they say.
oil change
I just got home from an oil change i needed at Mr. Lube and am still shaking i am so angry. I went to the Mr. Lube in Guelph on the corner of Silvercreek and Willow on Saturday October 21st for a simple oil change. I told them when i arrived that i only wanted the base oil change, nothing else, but they simply would not listen to me. I had to say no to everything from a new cabin air filter to a transmission oil change on a vehicle with 45000KM. They kept me there for 35 minutes for a simple oil change, just so they could keep coming back to try to upsell me. Then to top things off, they told me that my 2014 Terrain required synthetic oil, and that was what they had put in the car. I ended up paying $85 plus tax, when all i wanted was a simple oil change.
I felt really silly when i got home and my husband told me that no GM vehicles require synthetic. So i was harassed, detained for more than half an hour, lied to and cheated.
I hope people read this and go anywhere else, but never to Mr. Lube.
mr lube in ajax 336 rossland rd e - advised to replace non existing cabin filter
I was advised that my cabin filter needs to be replaced when I took my 2008 VW Beetle convertible in for an emmissions test. They asked if they can change it and I said I would have my mechanic change it. I took it to my mechanic, only to find out my car does not have a cabin filter at all. So how could it be dirty and need replacing? I paid my mechanic 80 dollars for his time. I have called Mr Lube back several times and at first they denied advising me to change the filter, until I told them it is written on my receipt. Then they kept insisting my car does have a cabin filter and to bring my car back in for them to tear apart my dash again. No thank you! VW Canada looked up my VIN # and advise my model does not have a cabin filter. I have continued to call Mr Lube back and they keep saying they will have the regional manager call me back, but it's been several weeks and I haven't heard from anyone. I want to know what they will do about this, if anything. If not, I guarantee I will let everyone I know what horrible service and advice I experienced. I think they should be reimbursing me for the 80 dollars I had to pay my mechanic to replace a cabin filter that is non existing. They lied to me and are not owning up to it.

oil change. oil all over engine and driveway. terrible service.
This place is a huge rip off. Clueless people working on vehicles. Thugs. Terrible no protection on fenders can’t read a dip stick. Had to immediately go to Jiffy across the street and re do entire job.
A district manager called me today and said he was sorry. Said the damage is done. Maybe I should calm down and talk another day. This place has gone to the dogs.
Will not be shopping there again.
Please do yourself a favour and look at the google reviews it’s appaling how a company can stay in business like this
Support your local small shop they will listen.
Thanks
oil change
I went to the Oshawa park road south location as always with the old management there it was good. New management totally sucks. As I proceeded in for my oil change I popped the hood and Paran the window washer started to clean my windows, I got out of the car and placed my new not open coffee on the trunk and told him to be careful im just exchanging cups. Not even 2 seconds later the idiot knocks over my coffee all over my trunk and down the rear drivers side quarter panel. He also go a little bit on his pants which was more of a worry then a customers vehicle and did not even attempt to offer to wash it down with the water hose they had ready on the wall, I plainly told him to get away from my car. Hussain proceeded to do my oil change trying to get me to buy their rediculous priced items and I said just the oil change please he said ok. Hussain was ready to put oil in my car and little to my surprize I see friggin oil splattering all over my engine and down my right front quarter panel and I jumped out of the car and said are you [censor]ing kidding me? The manager of the shop looked and did nothing. They proceeded to wipe a polished pearl black finish with a dirty shop rag and I said whoa are you [censor]ing kidding me pal do the oil change so I can get the hell oit of here. Hussain then tried to get me to purchase a transmission flush and again I said are [censor]ing kidding me wow give me my bill. They offered nothing to clean my engine compartment for all the spilt oil and coffee on my paint job. They then proceeded to give me the bill of 53 bucks and I said for what yous did to my car I should have gotten it for free ya bunch of [censor]. Hussain then managed to get the printer to screw up and the manager came over and fixed it and said nothing about the damage or my enture of this place. I then proceeded to get the engine shampoed and my car rewashed from these incompetant idiots and they offered a I dont give to [censor] attitude towards a paying customer. Ive told most of my friends that usually go there and they said they will also look elsewhere for their services. I will continue to spread the word how [censor] this place is until im satisfied they get real workers who care there but I doubt it. The black book of shame stays and will never go back.
bad customer service and lies
When in to Mr. Lube in Kitchener, Ontario on Saturday, September 16, 2017 for an oil change. On Highland Rd. They didn't top up my fluids at all. My windshield washer fluid was not topped up. I was out of the bay and looked underneath my hood the washer fluid wasn't touched then I spoke to Justin supervisor there any flat out denied it. He said we filled it up and that was it and then he swore at me. I had a little bit of an argument with him saying you didn't fill up my windshield washer fluid. Then I told him to get me the number of the manager of the store. He went to the room pretending like you looking for the manager's card and then said to me I don't have one. The after the argument I left the area didn't leave the parking lot open my hood and took a picture of the windshield washer Reservoir. So I went to PartSource got a couple jugs of windshield washer fluid and filled it up two jugs of windshield washer fluid to fill it up when the people at mr lube said they filled my washer fluid. The problem is you don't see what's going on underneath the hood so how do I know what they're doing and what they're not doing how do I know I'm getting the oil I choose versus the cheaper brand. Problem is you can't get out of your car and watch them do the job you have to trust them. And I don't trust them they lied to me about filling up my windshield washer fluid. Before I left the parking lot I took a picture of my windshield washer fluid and then when I went to PartSource I took a picture of it again when I filled it up all within 10 minutes 15 minutes of me leaving mr. Lube pictures attached very upset about this and that Justin guy should be fired for swearing at me and not doing his job and giving me the proper information to file my complaint like he said who cares about corporate office when I told him I'm taking it to corporate office. Now I'm on social media shaming mr. Lube and I'll keep shaming them until you guys do something about it. I'm not like one of your other customers who just take it and take upgrades from you guys and take bad service from you guys I'm not that type customer. I'll speak my opinion and voice my opinion until something happens. If that's me taking it to social media on Twitter I will keep doing it until you guys apologize and something happens. I've already started on social media I'll keep doing it. Thank you

unethical behavior.
On August 25th I took my car to Mr. Lube at 3315 32nd Avenue N.E. Calgary Ab. After turning of my car and releasing the hood the tech. attempted to remove the dip stick doing so he broke it off and it was stuck in the dip stick tube . The tech. then told me to go pick up a new dip stick and bring it back and they will replace it . I left went to a dealership picked up a new dip stick and returned to Mr. Lube. When I gave them the dip stick the tech told me that they don't install the dip stick because they don't want to cause more damage so he gave me the name of a place that will do the removal of the broken dip stick. I went to the garage I always go to and they removed the broken dip stick for a charge of $50.00. The next week end when I was off work I went back to Mr. Lube and again gave the supervisor there the bill for the dip stick and to have it replaced at that time he said the owner wanted to talk to me first and he would be in the next day. The following morning I went back again and he took copies of the receipts and said he would contact head office and get back to me . He called me this morning and informed me that they would pay for the dip stick but not for the removal of the broken one . He kept telling be that they would remove the broken dip stick if I brought back the new one which wasn't how the conversation went the day it happened and now because no one there wants to accept responsibility for this problem I have to pay for all this because of your negligence, the total cost of all this is $75.08.
For the past 5 years I've been taking 2 cars to this location for oil changes an I think that they should be able to treat their customers with a little respect and own up to their mistakes.

sale of unnecessary repairs
A Mr. Lube technician tried to sell me an automatic transmission oil change at 70, 000 kms. He said it was due every 46, 000 kms and I was overdue and at risk of damaging the transmission.
I declined the service and when I checked the owner's manual it said the first transmission oil change is due at 240, 000 kms.
I have always had excellent service from Mr. Lube and I was disappointed that this technician tried to sell me a service 170, 000 kms too soon.
I have often heard of this practice but never experienced it so the reason for my posting is to make the public aware that never listen to a technician's advice without first checking the owner's manual or a trusted friend.
oil change
I went to the Mr. Lube located at 680 Laval Dr, in Oshawa Ontario for an oil change this Monday, August 21st. I assumed I was leaving it in the hands of professionals and that I had no reason to worry. I was clearly mistaken, as the following evening (Tuesday) my engine light came on and my car started making a loud rattling sound.
This morning (Wednesday), I had to call in to work and let them know I'd be late. I attempted to return my car to the shop to make sure that everything was under control. My car broke down in the middle of a 4-way stop close by to the shop. A kind stranger had to help me move my car out of the way and checked under the hood for me. Only to discover there was no oil at all.
I went back to Mr. Lube and they came to look at my car, only to tell me that an oil filter had not been put in my car and that oil had been spilled everywhere, until eventually it emptied and broke down.
This was so incredibly careless of the staff there, and the results could have been very dangerous. No compensation or refund was granted despite them not even doing the job of changing the oil in the first place. I am so disappointed that this happened, and will not be returning to any Mr. Lube location.
oil change & headlight restoration
I was in Mr Lube 7562 Yonge St, Thornhill last Thursday to do oil change, young technician offer me to clean my headlights in half an hour with 4 years warranty and I accepted, but I mentioned to them to make sure no damages on the vehicle's body and paints, he said don't worry we cover it and the manage came and used the regular paint tapes on the body. two young boys started to sand the headlight glasses then after they finished the sanding, manager came to remove the tapes and varnish the glass, I noticed that paints around the headlights has been removed by sanding and I complaint to manager but he told me it was before! He didn't see my cal at the beginning and I told him that this damage is new but he was responding unprofessionally and even say sorry to me. I don't know how to escalate my concern to Mr. Lube.
head light
Passenger side head light burned out. Mr. Lube Store # 102 (Britannia Rd and Erin Mills Rd) in Mississauga installed a new bulb while I got my oil changed. On Saturday I noticed at night that it wasn't working. Brought back to store on the following Monday and asked them to replace. Tech said it would cost $25 at which time I told him that it looks like a defective bulb that he installed. He said it was likely my electrical system. I have been driving around all day and new bulb is still working fine.
I asked tech to call manager, he did and manager said it was too bad and that he would not cover the defective bulb. I told him that we would not be back again. Both my wife and I have been going to Mr. Lube for over 15 yrs every 3 months for a combined average of $150 combined per visit. Why would you lose $600 annual in service over a $25 bulb. Seems like an inexperienced management team which makes me question the company culture. Lots of competition out there.
services
I went to the mr. Lube on parson road in edmonton.
Not only was it 40 dollars to do a tire repair which is normally 15 dollars they said and tried to make me change everything under the hood until the point I was there almost two hours! For a 15 minute oil change.
Now I service my car every 5000km on the dime and do not understand how from last time which was two months ago my car could be so screwed!
Now I went there thinking it would be under 75 dollars and walked out with paying 145! I will never go to your firm again and after so many oil changes with your company I am sad to go but I just can not afford to use your company any longer!
I will never use your services again unless this is made right!
tire replacement
I recently went to the Mr Lube in Bolton Ont on McEwen Dr to have my snow tires changed over in late April. On June 22 I noticed that the locking nut was missing from my front left tire they had forgot to put that on and I have been driving for a month and a half with only 4 of the 5 bolts covered with a lot of highway driving that could have resulted in a dangerous situation. I went back to Mr Lube and they told me they would replace the locking nuts for me since they could not find mine in their shop however that night they phoned me to say I have no proof it was them that forgot it and I must have had someone else remove it so they are not responsible. Every complaint with Mr Lube they tend to turn it into the consumers fault not theirs, they take no responsibility for their actions. Beware of any work they do because they can put you in danger and they don't seem to care.
winter tires put in back seat of car, holding clothing, bedding and new tv which was ultimately cracked
My daughter dropped her car off and I transported summer tires to be switch for winter. I told staff I would pick up tires and not to put them in the car RAV.
Upon return we found the tires in her back seat with her clothing, bedding and TV which they had cracked. I have spoken to various staff; Kiel March Monn, Will Taylor, with no success of taking responsibility for the damage.
We have purchased a new TV for $340.00, I would like compensation for.
Thank you for your time jill Fuller
tire change
I had a horrible experience here. Wasted two hours of my time and $152. Rude service desk and manager.I told the manager that I will leave a bad comment and she told me that's fine. I paid for a service which was not done. they couldn't swap my tires but charged the full amount me anyway. I have a car with original 19 inch rim. I downsized the rim according to Hyundai standards. the new rim was 18 inch. Mr.Lube was supposed to mount, balance and install the winter tires. They couldn't finish the job because they didn't have the necessary parts(spacer or centeric ring).
After two hours of waiting (false advertisement: NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY sign everywhere), was told by IGOR at the service desk who was also working on the cars as a technician at the same time, that the job need to be done somewhere else, because we cant, however you have to pay the full balance.I asked to talk to manager and he called someone . i am not sure if she was the manager. The man at customer service was very rude. when I told him because you haven't done the job I am not going to pay you, he told me " I cant leave the premises and wont give you the car keys".
This place is a total scam. Its my fault because I didn't check the reviews on Google before going there.
damage done to my car
Had a tire switch from summer to winter (Mr Lube Mississauga Dundas and QEW), technician broke on stud, . Manager refused to take responsibility for a repairs, he told me I have to take it to mechanic to have it fixed and to pay for it. I had two cars maintained in this location and did not expected this type of outcome. They broke they should have it fixed.
The estimate for a repair from Toyota is $112 plus $3.20 for part plus tax. The head office stated it is independent operator and is up to him to make a decision.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
oil change and tire change
I went to Mr Lube for oil and tires change. I had my rims (steelies) my tires and my own engine oil. They took my car inside and then they hardly work on the price, I wait like 15 - 20 minutes to get the price. They charge me 173 + tax. This outrageous ripoff. 200 dollars... I had to go to them because I work up to 5 pm and it happened they are closest to my home I have not to many choices. I work for minimum wage which it means literally I work 2.5 days to have them done. Plus they make me wait 1.5 hours... People never go to these guys ever. I swear I wil l never ever walk into a Mr Lube in my life. I should've take a day off from work instead, for sure it will would come cheaper. Advice : Go to a trusted mecanic of yours even if you take a day off. Don't do the same mistake I did.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
horrible service and manager
I went to lubecity express 2 weeks ago near manning for my oil change and tire rotation it was on sunday n falling day I flew to vancouver so didnt get a chance to drive my car much when I came back drove for few days and a rattling sound started to come from the front I didnt know what was wrong so I called the dealership and took apointmnt for following day and the same day something was fallen of from bottom of the bonet... When the dealership daignosed tech told me who ever did oil change didnt screw the board properly so when I called the same location... Pathetic manager with no customer service ethics at all when I told him all this only thing he said is bring the car il see what I can do! What do mean you what u can do its in dealership getting fixed and freaking paying for your guys careless mistake which could have turned into major problem on highways and the most importantly not even once he said sorry... If no action is taken im willing happy to take this matter above and put on social media
oil change
For the second time in the last two years I lost my engine cover due to improper installation at Mr. Lube. This time the cover had been replaced with a brand new one just a few months earlier at a cost of over $500. I made the greeter at Mr. Lube aware that the cover and fasteners are new and asked to have someone double check that the cover has been installed properly. A couple of months later I have this horrific bang under the car while driving on the Hwy followed by a scary swooshing sound. At least I knew what it was this time and as soon as I was able to pull over confirmed it was again the front of the cover that dropped to the road acting like a large scoop while scraping along the pavement. I managed to get under the car and strap the front of the cover to the grill and was able to go straight to the franchise where the cover was installed after the oil change. A man who claimed to be the manager did not have a business card to identify himself. After about an hour he told me that the car was past the 5000km warranty period but he had the pit crew re-install the cover so that I can drive safely. He said the cover let go because ONE bolt was rusted away. Not having any confidence I got on my knees on the greasy floor and discovered that the front of the cover now had plastic ties holding up the corners and nothing holding the middle. The 'manager' explained that they had no fasteners and that's the best he could do. Before leaving I got on my knees again and re-installed my strap to the front grill to make sure I'd at least get home.
If one bolt was rusted away it did not happen since my last oil change a couple of months ago. This is a very dry summer. If one bolt was rusted away I should have been made aware especially after I had asked that the secure installation of the cover be double checked. If one bolt was rusted away then all the other bolts should at least still be in place. Plastic ties to hold a cover under the car at Highway speed? Mr. Lube pit guys don't take the time to install all the fasteners properly. It's faster to just put back a few and hope that it lasts more than 5000 km.
Lesson learned: Mr. Lube cannot be relied upon for quality work and the customer is not permitted to go into the pit to verify that the work was done proper.
It's understandable that they don't have all the parts for all models but if they send a car on its way in not roadworthy condition they must at least inform the customer and then have the customer come back when the parts arrived.
Obviously the only way one has a chance of getting a simple lube job done properly is to take the car to the dealer. It's much cheaper in the long run.
