oil change
Forgot to put the skid plate on, let me drive away without it . They phoned me to come get it so I came back. They tie wrapped it on because they lost the bolts, then said it was like that. They also lost my valve stem caps when they checked the tire pressure. The manager also told me they were like that and hung up on me. I wouldn't recommend a place that can't put a vehicle back together before you drive away.

service
So I called they said that they could do my truck in the aroura building and then they called me back telling me to go to their other store so I do and they said that they can't do it either. So I went to the other one that I talked with and the guy Ricky started getting all mad at me and being very unprofessional. I asked why they lied and wasted my time and the just keeped in freaking out. Bad service never going to any mr lube again. All because of the aroura building thanks guys :)
Oil change
I got an oil change on Oct. 9, 2018 and it leaked in my garage. The FRANCHISE OWNER of the 3 Lethbridge, Alberta locations told me it was no big deal and he was not going to by blackmailed by me saying I wanted a refund or I would complain to social media.
As a customer I have no idea what goes on underneath the car or the good. I was planning a 500 km trip the next morning but had to wait until the next day to get it repaired and I lost 3 hrs - plus, I had to clean up my garage. There was no offer of a "$20 next time coupon" until I complained and then it was like pulling a good tooth to get more. When offered a $20 coupon I said "no, have the manager call me". He never called. I first had to write a complaint to "Mr. Lube.com". Then the Lethbridge Franchisee holder called me within 5 mins. and told me it was no big deal since I was a fist time customer = no loss of loyalty and there was no way I would have lost my engine. The guy was actually swearing and yelling at me. Except for their obvious mistakes during my oil change the staff were polite and of course "OVERLY" persistent as "suggestive sellers" - as mentioned in other complaints. I know all that's just a scam.
We could start a "I HATE MR. LUBE" facebook page and let's see if we can get some consumer protection in place for oil changers. I'm at [protected]@yahoo.com if you agree.
oil change
Went in to get a basic oil change and the guy told me I should get my differential fluid changed. He went on making me feel like I it was imperative that I get it done and said it was $129 so I gave him the go ahead. He didn't me mention the part that there was 3 differentials and it was $129 each! I paid way more than I expected and I felt bullied into paying it. I also just learned that there is only 2 differentials, he also charged me for some sort of transfer case maintenance. I would like most of my money back because he wasn't being clear about the work he was doing.
charged me for service I did not need and very rude technician
On September 6, I went to Mr. Lube at 1964 Victoria Park Avenue for an oil and filter change. While I was there the technician tried to talk me into getting an engine flush which I didn't need. Even when I stood firm that all I needed was an oil and filter change, he insisted that I needed that service and took advantage of my little knowledge.
They conveniently "forgot" to give my invoice on day of service that I had to drive back there yesterday to obtain a copy. The manager said he emailed it to me but again, he lied. I checked my spam folders and there was no invoice. Upon checking the invoice, they charged me for a high mileage syn oil and my mileage is only 83, 000 km, not high by any standards. They are a bunch of crooks. I will tell everyone of my friends don't ever do business with Mr. Lube at Vic Park.
I now checked with my trusted mechanic and he told me I didn't need the engine flush and that they were just trying to take my money away. I will never go to Mr. Lube again, I think they are a bunch of crooks and are just after your money. They have a high-handed way of doing business.
service done which resulted into problems in transmission system instead of sorting out the employees are blaming me for whole of the incident
Hello,
Last month when I went to mr lube on 24 July 2018 for the service I told them to change engine oil and other things they suggested me to change transmission and coolant liquids and I agreed with them and told them whatever they feel go for that. After the service when I drove the car which is Ford Taurus 2010 didn't went 1 kilometre away and its r.p.m started increasing but speed was still very after a jerk I called them they told me to bring the car back and told we are responsible and we will send the car to our private mechanic as they had done the service.
After two days called me and said their mechanic told them they are not responsible for anything and it was earlier before coming to mr lube was there problem in transmission I told them the car was in excellent condition and there was no problems and I drove the car for 2000 kilometres after buying it from first owner and there was not a single sign of problem . Even I provided all ford services done by the first owner with no problem in transmission then they started asking about mechanical reports which as a new and first buyer didn't know was mandatory then they said we cannot do anything in this whole isuue.
All the expenses since the car transmission problem occurred toeing mechanic check up done by mr lube whole expenses of travelling by uber burdened my pocket plus earlier they were saying only solenoid slippage problem now there will be need to change the whole transmission system ghrand it was the worst experience of my since I came to Canada with Mr lube and it's officials. If they think there are earlier issues in any vehicle why they don't go for test drives. Even I don't like the way customer service and there was not a single point I was able to find of customer satisfaction.
I am writing this complaint on behalf from my friend suggestion but still I didn't feel any confident to be taken seriously as what I experienced at the ground level service.

undercoating promo ;
A few days ago I called Mr. Lube at Merivale and Baseline rd. Ottawa on. and ask if they had a special for undercoating, and the man that answered the phone said we have it at 79.95 right now. Now I go for undercoating every fall with my wife car at 99.00 and we have doing business with you guy's for a long time and I hate being fooled with someone that doesn't know what he's selling. I get to your dealer and I have to get a oil change to get the promo I don't think so; I back out and your manager would do anything to rectify the mistake done by your employee.
I can understand prices changes or go up but bending at the knees for a customer after going twice to see the manager I don't understand. It was their mistake not mine and I will question going back for service their in the near future.

mr. lube lost my 2015 hyundai sante fe engine cover
I have always been a happy customer of Mr. Lube (Courtenay on Lerwick Rd). On January 5, 2018, I had an oil change. Of course I sit in my car during. In order to get at my oil filter, you have to remove the Engine Cover. I had replaced my windshield wiper fluid the week before so I know my Engine Cover was there. 2 weeks after my Oil Change I had to get more work dshield washer fluid and when I opened my hood, my Engine Cover was not there. Only time I open my Engine Cover is to put windshield wiper fluid. I went into the Lerwick Rd Mr. Lube on Jan 24, 2018 and reported the situation. Spoke with the manager Aaron. He was very supportive, understanding and apologetic. He said he would be talking to the franchise owner to get some support /advice and would call me back. No phone call. Followed up a month later...still no call. Left a note at the shop in early May directed at Aaron and the franchise owner that I expected that I was expected a phone call with an update. Still nothing. Today (Jun 14, 2018), I went in and spoke to Aaron and he said the franchise owner told him that he was going to call me. I told Aaron that I have received no such phone call and that I expect to have a call. I then went down the street and got an oil change at Finneron Hyundai and they told me a replacement Engine Cover is $594.00 and that earlier in the year they had received a call from Mr. Lube inquiring about a Sante Fe Engine Cover.
First, we have 2 vehicles that we used to regularly take to Mr. Lube and until this is rectified we will refuse to bring our vehicles to any Mr. Lube.
Second, all I had asked was they someone contact me to communicate the plan of action and tentative timelines. I have been very patient and respectful of the staff.
I now am getting quite upset that I have a high value vehicle that is now not as quiet due to the hood cover missing and is just plain missing a $594.00 piece of the engine.
I have waited for the Lerwick Mr. Lube to take action and now I am taking it to the next level.
I expect to be contacted.

paying for a service I never requested
I went to Mr. Lube on May 31st 2018 for a simple oil change. The address was 336 Rossland Road East in Ajax Ont. Mr Lube #149. The technician's name is Ryan. He had explained to me that there were two services that were recommended to do for my vehicle that have been recommended before on two other visits that I had not done as of yet. A rear differential specialty service and a transmission drive package. He did mention to me that my differential oil smelt really bad so I mention to him that I'm driving to Ottawa this weekend so he recommends that I get it done especially if I'm driving a long-distance this weekend. I asked him the price of the oil change which came to $82 and change and then the price of the differential oil service he says $ 149. I factor those two costs and I agree, he asks okay so you want both of them I said yes. When the service was over he handed me a bill for $419 . I said what is this for I asked for my oil change and the differential oil service how does this come up to that amount. He said I had agreed to both of the services that were recommended for my vehicle. I said but I never got the amount of the other recommended service which was a transmission service package ...i asked how much is that service package, he mentioned it's $179. I asked him don't you think that would have been logical to have given me that price as well as the price of the oil change and the differential oil service. All in all the manager gave me the lowest discount he could which was $62 off the price... I'm still very disappointed and unsatisfied with the service infact I feel bamboozled. I could have done my transmission service package through my own mechanic and save some money. I appreciate the manager trying to lower the price however I really shouldn't be paying for something I never requested in the first place as I was never even given a cost for that extra service by the technician Ryan...im not sure if the employees get a bonus or kickback on high bills they collect. I just want my money back at this point. Leaving Mr.Lube this evening was just the most lowered feeling as somebody had tricked me out of my money.
tire change
I took my vehicle to Mr. Lube at Kennedy and Lawrence in Scarborough in November for a tire change. Vehicle had approximately 35, 000km on it.
As I drove out my front left tire made a loud scraping/squeeling sound. The technician advised that they saw rust on the wheel and by the time I get home it will have worn off. It never did.
The manager asked me to bring my vehicle to a different location where they had a full shop. My wife did so today. We were told that it is a brake issue and not related to the tire change. My vehicle was 100% FINE when I drove into Mr. Lube, and making this awful sound when I left. Th manager even had the nerve to tell me that they can't be responsible for my regular brake maintenance. I had to arrange to bring a different vehicle to work so my wife could take my vehicle to get fixed.
tire change
April 2, 2018
I went to the Mr. Lube on des Sources and Brunswick in DDO, Quebec. I had asked how long I have on my tires. The man said a full season. I had gone to my dealership for issues with my car, they told me I had 2 bald tires and one on backwards. When i went back to complain the manager laughed at me. They changed the backwards tire "no charge". I had called to complain and I'm still waiting for a call back after 3 messages left.
tire and rim change.
On April 24 2018 I brought my new Mazda 3 in for a seasone tire change with rims already on tires.
Before the attendant started I had Instructed him to be careful not to scratch as they are new and custom. He replied "no problem".
After the service was done and I got out of car, all 4 rims were scratched. I was very upset.
I spoke to person in charge and he said that manager was in later and that I would have to come back.
When I came back I wa told that I would have to come back on Thursday (this being Monday) when the area supervisor would be there. Which I did and they said that they would have their tire place repair rims.
I called around for quotes for repair and Prices varied from $600.00 to $800.00 and to replace was $1300.00 taxes in. 3 3 to 4 weeks for repair and 3 days for new rims to arrive.
I told that if repair wasn't like new I would want new rims and also I would need a car rental as we are a 2 car family.
Well it's been 4 weeks and I've heard nothing about repair or replacement.
It's disappointing that the negligence of this location has been put off and this issue has not been resolved quickly.
I would like to be contacted from somebody who has authorization to this this resolved.

damage claim warning
I had 4 new tires replaced at the Whitby location and they dented 3 of the rims on my truck with a tire iron. Within a week a had a flat tire and the two other wheels were leaking air as well. (I found out that they had broken the tire stems inside the wheels at the TPMS sensors). For the $800 it cost me to repair the damage they offered me a free oil change as compensation. When I went went higher up to the Senior Area Manager the guy suggested I was committing an act of fraud but offered me $300. When I went above him, the Operations Manager at their head office didn't even look at the evidence but sided with Franchisee and then gave me a $250 take it or take nothing offer. They wouldn't give me a name of someone above Operations so my only recourse was to take it to Small Claims Court. I found out there that franchises are coached by the Corporation on how to handle a damage claim. They are directed not to accept responsibility for any damage and are told to make minimal offers of 'good will' to make the customer go away. They are taught that the average Mr. Lube customer is not going to follow through with a court proceeding so it's unlikely they will have to pay for the full damage as long as they drag it out as long as possible.
It's insulting and abusive that this is standard procedure for a company of this size and stature. As a side note, I had my rims replaced at a shop that only does tires (not oil changes) and they were $45 less than what Mr. Lube charged.
over charged over $400
i came in for an oil change and my car only has 39k 2015 vw tiguan. i ended up paying for a lot of things i didn't need because the technician was pressuring me and told me many things were dirty. i showed my mechanic the receipt and he said i got ripped off badly. I want my money back for the services i didn't need. very unethical practise by Mr lube.
over charging or price gouging.
I took my vehicle (2001 ford Escape) for an oil change at your store #236 Everest West services Inc. 2423 Dobbin Road, West Bank, BC V4T1K7
The attendant told me the oil in my transfer case was dirty and should be change. He said they had to use a special synthetic oil and it would cost me $129.99. He did not tell me how much oil it would take nor why it was so expensive. I greed to pay for the change and it took the fellow down below about 5 minutes to do the job. I felt like I had just been ripped off but paid the bill and left the premise's without saying anymore. When I got home I checked my maintenance manual and it told be that the transfer case used SAE 75W-140 oil and it needed only 12 ounces or.35 of a litre. As far as I am concerned this was a total ripe off and I would like to be reimbursed.
I returned to Mr. Lube in West Bank BC and a long time employee named Andy took good care of me. He checked the oil and the filter to make sure they had been changed. He then checked the transfer case and topped up my washer fluid. I told him that I was unhappy with the price they charged to change the oil in the transfer case($130) and he agreed to compensate me by changing the oil in the differential for no charge. I really appreciated the time he took to try and make things right and eliminate my fears and concerns. Even though they did included the rear end oil change, at $130, I still felt this was quite pricey.
refusing to fix what they screw up
Took my 2007 Honda Accord into the Mr. Lube at Speers Rd. and Dorval Dr. in Oakville, Ontario today for an oil change and to have my winter tires put on. Oil change went fine, but when the guy was finished changing the tires on the passenger side he let my car drop roughly (with me in it), then continued onto the other side. When I drove away, my car was reading as though no oil change had been done, and my car was wobbling horribly and pulling badly to the right. I brought it back immediately. They reset the oil reading, (hopefully they actually did the change) but said there was nothing they could do about my car wobbling and pulling (which only started after the change, my car was fine before), so I should drive it across town to another Mr Lube location.
With my car pulling and shaking, I drove to the location they suggested at 234 Hays blvd, where I waited for 5 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge I was there. Eventually some clearly stoned guy named Jazz emerges from the back and gives me a blank stare (no hello, how may I help you, nothing) and I explain the issue. He takes my key, then goes outside for a smoke. Half an hour later, he comes back to me and says that they refuse to look at my car, because it had already been looked at by a different location (THAT SENT ME TO THEM) and that was that.
lube job
I have taken my 1993 truck to mr. Lube in med. hat for years? Thinking a lube is oil change and grease job? To my surprise I find the grease nipples had never been greased, caked up and covered in dirt. You pay $60 for gust a oil change. You call it a mr. Lube should be called a mr. Oil. I tried several times to get answers no reply?i don, t know any 1993 truck that doesn't, t have grease nipples!
cabin air filter
We went in for an oil change yesterday and the tech offered to check our cabin air filter which definitely needed to be replaced. Before even consulting us the tech contacted PartSource and was having it driven over. Making us feel like we had to get it. When we questioned the 89.99 price tag for this oil filter the tech told us that these air filters are special and cost a lot and that is why it cost that much. Leaving us with the impression that it must be around $60-$70 with a small fee to install. We didn't have it installed that day because it didn't arrive in time but came back the next day only to wait for 20 min for the 5 minute install. Out of curiosity we called part source. That filter cost $29 - a $60 upcharge!?! Are you kidding!?! We will not be returning to Mr. Lube. What a waste of money and time. The tech lied to us at Mr Lube and we will be looking into any complaint boards we can about proper business practices. We are very disappointed.
winter tire + rim change
Worse customer service ever! I was at one of tej Mr lube locations here in Toronto, Ontario to get new set of winter tires. One of the employee showed me my choices and took advance money to order tires for next day, for which I acknowledged and was at the location next day. Then one of the employee says I need to buy new set of rims too, which they could have checked and informed me at the first visit itself, again I paid for the rims to order and went again next day after work, they took me by surprise! I called and confirmed before heading in, they gave green signal to come in and after wasting my 10 hrs of precious time in 3days asked me to come tomorrow because the employee wasn't sure of the rims. I politely asked them why did they acknowledge over the call and wasted my time, instead could have asked to come in next day and I could get is mean answers and don't care attitude! I don't get it inspite paying $$$ receiving worse customer service ever and I don't get it why the tag line is "same day service" ? They didnt even Allow me to talk to manager as well! Ridiculous, please help me escalate this issue. Here's the location Mr.lube 61 Overlea Blvd, Toronto
.
beware - ripoff artists in markham, ont.
On November 4, 2017 I took my friends 2009 Chev. Equinox with 15, 000 Km. in for an oil change.
Immediately upon the hood being opened, the "mechanic" tore out the cabin air filter. He said it needed to be replaced, but upon checking it against the outside daylight, it was virtually as clean as a new filter. I told him it was fine but he insisted it needed to be replaced.
He then proceeded to check the undercarriage of the vehicle and stated; "The rear portion of the vehicle needs some touchup rustproofing. He had a special price of $109.00...regularly $139.00. I told him to forget it.
Finally he got around to checking the oil dipstick and said the oil was OK and didn't need an oil change.
I asked about the engine anti-freeze temperature range and he said they're all guaranteed up to 100, 000 Km. ?
So it cost me $81.35 for a cabin air filter that sells at the dealership for $32.95.
Goodbye Mr. Lube... your days are certainly numbered !
