invasion of privacy, slanderous/false information, did not
MyLife.com has erroneous information posted on a public forum which invites identity theft and slander. I understand that much information of public record can e obtained by anyone and posted through social media for the whole world to see. Nevertheless, the constitution of the United States declares that all citizens have a reasonable right to privacy. When a Social Media site uploads a profile of an individual without consent, without verification of the data and said information or profile can have serious repercussions to one's work life, enterprises and religious convictions, The people behind this internet sight must be held legally as well as ethically accountable. The world is full of people who turn to social media sites to examine the private behaviors of others. Employers now include examination of personal social media in the evaluation and judgement of potential work candidates. There is a perverse invasion of privacy that has become acceptable when potential employers, potential suiters, investment professionals and financiers rely on the information they come across through these sites. Little regard is given to the inaccuracies as, even when misleading, erroneous or slanderous information is found and corrected, the damage has already been done. What makes this scenario even more perverse is when a site such as "My Life.com, publishes an entire profile without one's consent or knowledge. Most of us are not public figures nor are most people experts in controlling social media sites publications, as there are now too numerous to mention. It appears that today we must all engage in a new task: the management of unsolicited, information and advertising of one's private life. A site like mylife, regards me as just a number-but I am a private citizen with rights and should not have to hire an attorney, a social secretary and a manager to monitor false, potentially damaging information. Mylife was so bold, and potentially dangerous, it goes on to publish relatives- past relationships and list them as if they are current. They publish your address for any stalker or killer to seek you out. They would not publish the fact that as a victim of domestic violence and stalking, they have increased the chance of my becoming a fatality exponentially by publishing the names and ages of possible relatives, children, locations etc. They should and must be held accountable for the damage they have done to me and potentially thousands of other women's profile. The cowards that they are, they do not post contact information where such things can be addressed. Perhaps they do not publish details of their own lives because they are nothing but cowardly dogs who go about raising hell in the lives of innocent people. Perhaps they believe they will continue to be mistaken for upright human rather than the knuckle dragging, ### they are. Their ethics are lower than those of thieving raccoons in the night, rummaging through the trash of unsuspecting victims, soiling themselves with [censored]e and piss before they use it as adhesive to anonymously paint a public picture of unsuspecting citizens, They are no better than the self policing sites such as YouTube that make public declarations, committing not to allow the posting of pornography, gratuitous violence, or hate related posting. Yet everyday, one can go through You Tube and see videos of young people pulling the trigger while their lips embrace the barrel of a pistol. You would not have to look far to find uploads of racists enciting violence against women, African-Americans, Latinos or Muslims. One out of every 4 hate crimes are now committed against Latinos or Hispanic Americans. Now My Life has picked up the baton, publishing profiles without the consent of individual, invading their privacy and that of potential family members or friends, and by so doing, has -in essence- sent out a calling card inviting identity theft, rape, murder, stalking or worse. Again, as citizens of this republic and as human beings, we are entitled to a reasonable standard of privacy. When one has been victimized by domestic violence, stalking and fraud, the last thing needed is for an unsolicited profile to be posted by anonymous cowards. Our laws are behind the times, not up-to-date with the moral and ethical issues presented by the perverse opportunists who create and manage the disgraceful social media sight, MyLife.com. The executives and creators of these sights may hide under their soiled sheets with total disregard of the pain of others. MyLife.com may ruin the lives, of women like myself, condemning me and thousands more to live in fear. By totally disregarding our right to privacy, they have effectively sentenced us to live striped naked in front of a store window with every sick ### taking notes. I pray that the tables will be turned on them. I wonder how much their family members, beloved friends and children will fear when they are striped naked, and violated with every detail of a torturous encounter made known to all.-when the noose tightens about their necks, will there be a post naming the Judge who will condemn them to hell alongside their profile? When their greatest fears becomes their reality, who will not look them up to find their tragedies on display for consumption by a common rabble. A nice class-action suit may not be enough justice; In my opinion, this does not cry out for justice but for vengeance.

false information
I am not now and have never been a member/subscriber of MyLife.com; however, this company advertises that I am a member/subscriber and has invented relationships/family members with whom I have no familial relationships. There is no way to remove my information from their malicious spamming other than to actually JOIN their organization and then trust then to sort it out. I consider this extortion and I want my name removed from any of their spam sites.

I did a search on myself to see what public information shows up in my profile. My name, age and current address were correct, but I was disturbed to find someone else's photo, incorrect previous address information, etc. The only way to view the entire profile is to pay a fee, which I don't want to do, but I am concerned what other false information might be associated with my profile.
if you use the free locator service, it creates an account with a default to auto renew the account each month
This site is a scam. If you use the free locator service, it creates an account with a default to auto renew the account each month. Of course, you are not advised of the autor renew feature until the card is charged the next month. You are advised by email a day later at which point they state, whether you use the site or not, they can do nothing about the charge.
DO NOT Patronize these a-holes.
scam artist
I went into my life.com to delete my account, then decided to reinstate for one more month, I hit the 12 month key by accident, I then called the phone number and explained to them what had happened, they charged my account to my credit account for the full 83.40 plus another 15.95 for something else. I called immediately and was told they would only credit me back 67.45. I explained to them that it would make my account short and I would have to pay bank fees, they pretty much told me too bad. I tried to explain that it was an error and I called them immediately, I would never recommend this site to anyone, it is nothing but a scam. Can you please help me?
privacy - buying consumer information
My personal information, former addresses, names and family member's names are appearing online via this site. My information is not public anywhere. And it includes my previous married name from 15 years ago when social networking or internet searches were not like they are today.. They are obviously buying this information from the credit bureaus! Do NOT go on this site and give them your credit card. They switch and bait you into signing up when you need to tell them not to include your personal information in a google search. This site should be taken down off the internet. Their practice of using searching networks and publicizing personal information is a complete scam which prompts people to go to their site to find out why their information is coming up in searches. Someone please do something about this website. Where is privacy? SAFETY? Their greed for money is putting so many people in danger. This has to be the most invasive and mostly unethical site. The abuse of technology and the internet by posting private information needs to be stopped. They are buying this information from the credit bureaus..someone is selling your information.

I just stumbled on to this. This is really terrifying, I can't believe something like this is so accessible ?!?!
I haven't used my maiden name in over 30 years. I recently tried out ancestry.com to find the family of my mothers father and all the sudden started getting stuff from mylife.com address to my maiden name. I have also been getting stuff from some company saying someone has ran a background check on me and this website is so scary because it not only has the maiden name but my address, age, phone number and a map to my house. It's called instantcheckmate. Any way ancestry.com datamined my visit to their website which was a one time visit so far and sold it to both mylife.com and instantcheckmate.com It is an invasion of privacy and promotes stalking and can harm someone's family.
privacy violaters
They began spamming me when i created a Facebook account. Wondering how they would know 8 people were looking for me i went to site. entered my name, age and zip. My personal info came up including a snapshot from above of my house! Displayed blurry pictures of the "people" searching for me: mostly young, attractive girls. What a scam! and even worse, what a serious invasion of my privacy as well as those poor girls who are probably being stalked as i type this!

posting my information without permission
This company has been consistently posting my information on it's site for months. I email them weekly to remove my info and yet continues. I have faxed my ID twice yet i have received no respect for my privacy. I'm talking to a lawyer. Technology does not equal invasion of privacy.
I agree that it should be off limits to scrape and re-publish public information about people's identities. When public information is offered by the source, that is legitimate "fair use" from a legitimate source. But when that information is copied, compiled into a database, then republished by a private company for profit - without the consent of the person who owns that identity - it is clearly unethical. A birth certificate establishes ownership of an identity. This should be treated by the courts as holding even more weight than any other copyright or trademark or patent. Yet, a person's identity is treated as though it is free to be stolen and used for private personal gain, simply because it was readable from an official source's database that was published (such as the court system, or a personal social profile.)
Once it becomes published for profit by a private company who then claims to "own" that database information, a crime has been committed. They should at the very least be paying the owner of that identity royalties for the right to publish the data for profit.
Because this is true, if you go to the website and dial the toll free number instead of following the steps for "claiming your listing", you may request the URL that is publishing your public information be removed from the website. Simply state, "I am calling to ask you to find all listings under my name, and please delete the public information from your website. I do not wish to open an account with MyLife.com. Thank you." They must and will do this. But you must check back every couple of months to repeat this exercise. If you look at the bottom of the page on the website you will see US Patent numbers. That is the patents pending for the technology they are using to scrape other databases to gather your information. They can do that. And so far, they can get away with creating a public profile of you without your consent. The law as it is currently written says that you have the right to "opt out", not that you have the right to "opt in" prior to them having the right to publish online. So as their technology automatically does its scrapes, it will regather your information and re-compile a public profile of you, which you must come back and re-opt out of - at least until something gets done about this situation.
IF you do open an account with them, you are agreeing to their terms and conditions, and basically agreeing that they own your Identification information for their legal use for profit. Do not under any circumstances do this, or you are selling your identity and public record to them to publish for profit in any way they see fit.
If anyone is wanting to start a class action suit against mylife.com please let me know. my email address is pwrpac70@hotmail.com . People that advertise things for free and then rip you off should be punished.
It is all public information. Have you googled yourself on other sites like zillow, spokeo, etc? There are companies that will remove your info from the web, however that is a waste of time & $ because there is nothing preventing your info from being reposted.
used my name with out permission
They sent me an email that people had been looking at my profile. Gee that's really amazing considering I have never made a profile with them. I am not sure but I think they have publicly posted my name and other personal information. They have made it sound like I am looking for a date when I am not because I am married and would like to stay that way. According to them, if you can believe anything they say, several people in the same small area I live in have looked at it. As anyone who is married could understand, I don't want it to get falsely spread around that I am looking to start some kind of extra martial relationship when I am not. I tried to remove my name from their list but in order to remove my information I had to open an account and I'm not going to do that. I'm going to send a copy of my complaint and a link of this website to the FTC and the FCC and perhaps to my state rep who is also my neighbor. I will not put up with this.

I just complained today to mylife.com as I have been the victim of identity theft and now some 'loser' (JRT) created a profile on this site using my real name, my siblings/parents/other relatives (using very minimal research) and also posted my birthday! Now that is a REAL violation of privacy. I got an auto-generated message when I complained via email and I had my IT department obtain the IP address of the supposed 'hacker' and the resolution now lies in their hands. After all, if they have collected and given this information out to the public to use/abuse so they need to find the solution. I will pursue legal action.
stole my personal information
I googled my name on the Internet and found that someone from My Life made an online profile of me indicating my past residence, current residence and people that I am associated with. I called My Life immediately and they locked the profile and indicated it will take 7-10 days for the profile to be completely taken down. I was outraged because this is private information about my personal life on the Internet without my consent. I was told all the Information that My life posts about someone is public record and I told them they have No Right to do that ! I encourage everyone to google their own name to ensure their is not personal information on the Internet that they don't want seen. My life invaded my privacy and should be stopped immediately ! It's not acceptable to take someone Else's information and create an online profile in their behalf and list ex - boyfriends, husbands, even family members they are related too. If my life does not take down the profile they created for me I am suing them and encourage everyone else to do the same who feels their privacy has been violated.
You have no legal leg to stand on. They scrape public information to put together these profiles. What they are doing is 100% legal. BGTW they won't remove your profile unless you pay them to do it LOL
invasion of privacy and theft of identity
After being disgusted and outraged to learn that google maps is invading people's privacy and endangering their safety by posting very clear photos of our property, homes, cars and images on their site with the ability to zoom in closer for details of our property I did a goggle search for my name to see what other dangers they were offering me without my knowledge and my personal information appeared on ONLY ONE UNAUTHORIZED site, the scam site MYLIFE.COM. I have never heard of this site, never even received a spam e-mail from it and I DO NOT participate in any social networking sites, so I was beyond disturbed to see that MYLIFE.COM had took it upon themselves to post my name, age, address and a map of my neighborhood on their site with a FAKE PROFILE impersonating me by making it seem as if I was introducing myself. WITHOUT my knowledge or my permission MYLIFE.com is using the words "I" in statements to make it appear as if "I" am the one typing up the profile. IS THAT LEGAL? and then they had the gross audacity to list me as being friends with a Jeffery Tinsley. I DON'T KNOW ANYONE BY THAT NAME, HAVE NEVER CROSSED PATHS WITH ANY SUCH PERSON.
Is that legal? Is that safe to just associate strangers with people they have no connection to, what if someone violent is looking for Jeffery Tinsley and I end up being a victim because MYLIFE.COM listed us as friends. I do not know this person! nor do I want to.
MYLIFE.COM is heinous, and they have the narcissistic nerve to state on their site that they are trying to help people connect. WHO ASKED FOR THEIR HELP? I didn't.
What if a person helped themselves by escaping from their dangerous, awful past?
MYLIFE.COM is just taking it upon themselves to help people re-connect to person's they escaped from. MYLIFE.COM thinks it's helpful to create fake profiles and fake friends and make it appear as if a person is introducing themselves and welcoming a connection. How is an unauthorized fake profile revealing a person's real address without their knowledge helpful?
How is it helpful to but people in danger or to invite unwanted persons back into their lives without their knowledge or permission. Jeffery Tinsley should be in Jail and have his privacy invaded, what a ###.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Totally agree. We are still humans and we need privacy! We still want control of things about ourselves and information. Mylife should stop this.
what a scam!
Jeffrey Tinsley and those who work with him are crooks. The company continues to run commercials saying you can find out if anyone is searching for you ... for FREE! I checked out mylife.com, and wound up with a $300 charge to my credit card. I called them immediately and told them I had just seen the commercial offering a "quick check" for free. The woman I spoke to said brusquely "we don't offer any service for free." After some back and forth conversation I demanded that the charge be removed from my credit card, or I would go to the credit card company and report it as fraudulent. Eventually, after checking with her "manager", she offered to cancel the $300 charge if I would pay for that one month - $30. I agreed (just to end this nightmare), and they removed the charge, but kept e-mailing me saying people were looking for me. Interestingly, during my "paid month" they gave me addresses for two people I have been unable to find through any other source. Both addresses, of course, were fraudulent. I hope this lawsuit succeeds and this site is shut down.

I wish I knew how to start a blog so I could inform the whole world about Mylife.com. I was fortunate enough not to get scamed but unfortunately I was the one scamming people. I use to work for Alta resources which is a company that mylife.com hires to be their call center. So the people that answer the phones when you call to inquire about the product or charge are not even employees of mylife.com. They are employees of Alta, slaves of mylife.com, their biggest clients. They are all super young college students who really don’t care if you get scamed or not. I would speak up to my supervisors and say this is wrong we are tricking people and stealing their money by the minute, but it was not their problem we just worked for the client so we followed policy. The people on the emails that are claimed to be searching for you, well they really are real people whether they put in a fake name or not is on them. But the system let’s every john smith know that Jane doe was searching for that name not necessarly you. That is how they lure you in. Line’em and hook em and eventually sink ya. There is so much more I would love to say. I was hoping this lawsuit would take off in full effect for the nation to see but it is not getting much attention. We need to change that. Bottom line when you call demand a refund for as far back as you can. If they say oh sorry ma’am we can’t refund you that far back its a lie….just say any of these magic words. BETTER BUSINESS BUREU, ATTORNEY GENERAL OR DISPUTE WITH MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY. PLEASE stay away from the site Don’t even pull up the website they have a new system that will make mylife your homepage and if you log in even one time it will log you in automatically because it’s set to remember. They take advantage of older people who are not computer savy and their fine print is their secret weapon. If you have questions I’m happy to answer!
posting information not given
Beware of these deceptive people! I created and account with them many months ago using just minimal information, First Name Last Name age & zip code. Without my knowledge or permission they added an entire plethora of personal information to my profile that they obtained from somewhere and made it available to the public. In order to even gain access to it to delete the account or find out from them how to delete it you have to create a profile which they obviously use to obtain even more information about you-These are the worst people ever ! I am calling them tomorrow at [protected] and then I am calling my attorney !

cant't get on site to cancel
I signed up for what I thought was a one month paid membership but my account was charged for 12 months. I let it go figuring it was tuition in the School of Hard Knocks. But now I've tried to sign on to cancel and they won't send the username/password info so I can sign on. What a rip! Next step is to call the 800 number that was listed with the charge on my statement. If that doesn't get a cancellation, I am contacting my attorney general. Don't want to close the account but I will if I need to to stop another charge.
the same thing is happening to me! They won't accept my password to let me back onto there site so I can cancel the service.
You MUST contact your Attorney General. This company is betting on you to not do so, which is how to screw more people, like me 2 days ago.
there are lots of consumer complaints detailing this scheme all over the internet
MyLife provided SavingsAce my credit card data (who knows, maybe they are related companies?) and they started billing my account monthly. I never signed up for anything from savingsace. When I phoned to get them to stop debiting my card and request a refund, I was told it is their policy to stop taking my money in the future but they don't refund what they already took. After I got a supervisor on the phone, they relented and refunded my money. But many people may not notice the debit and/or complain loudly enough to get their money back. This is a real scam. I don't understand why the credit card processors are enabling this rip off? Or the government for that matter? There are lots of consumer complaints detailing this scheme all over the internet.
using my information without me providing it
This website has all the information of all the previous cities I lived and my full contact name, I have no idea how it got there first place. I have never been to this website, and the reason I found out was because my boyfriend check for my name and he found this website as being the one who provided my information. This has cost me arguments with him because he insists that I am trying to look for someone else while being with him, which none of that is true. I just want to know how did they get my information. Thank you!
did not order
I noticed a charge on my Bank of America credit card. I was charged $23.85 for a premium search. I did not authorize this search. In fact I checked their site and I do not have an active account or any active membership with them. I can't understand how these people get my credit card number. You seemed to get charged some odd amount if you are unlucky enough to stumble onto their web site. I would like to get this money refunded some how. This occurrence appeared on my Bank of America statement on 11/2011. Dorothy L Bach [protected]@olynet.com

paid to find someone, wouldn't show me the results
Queried my sister-in-law's name to try and contact her, and found a hit on mylife.com. Sure it was her. Wouldn't show me the results. It indicated I needed to pay to see the results. I paid $18.95 for a 1 month membership to see her name, and then it told me I signed up for "Who's Searching for You" and still couldn't see the results. I checked the 11 people that were supposedly searching for me and I don't know any of them--there is no way they are looking for me.
I called and complained, and the representative disabled the "Who's Searching for You" service, and enabled the People Search feature free for 1 month. I went back to the website, queried my sister-in-law again, found the same hit and it still would not allow me to view the results.
Site has numerous pop-up ads which are very frustrating, the site is not user friendly, and there is no information shared. Buyer Beware!

low class identity thieves and scam artists
Joined mylife.com when it was titled reunion.com. They gave my account number to a company called Shopping Essentials which charged approx $20 to my debit card. In addition, they sent emails to all of my email contacts without my permission. Finally, they also tricked me into thinking I would be charged $5.00 per month for 12 months, but instead charged me $60.
Mylife.com formerly reunion.com are some low class identity thiefs and scam artists and need to be destroyed as a company. Their CEO Mr. Tinsley should be ashamed of himself. Sue me if I am incorrect in any of this.
money taken from credit card
Despite previous e-mails sent to redress the problem, money continues to be taken from my credit card every month. $5.95 is a minimal amount but 'every month' it mounts up. Please stop this as soon as possible. You no longer have my permission to debit the card. Thankyou. Michael Cumiskey

site does not work
This company is pretending to be a people search company. I paid £11.95 on Sunday 9th October 2011 to conduct people searches. The site does not work, at all. I tried 192.com and found all the addresses I was looking for. The same addresses Mylife.com could not find. I have tried 8 or so searches, It cant find any of the addresses. I called them, (they offered me a free month on a website that does not work), said I had used it to search so I could not be refunded. I went back on the site and tried again same result. I have emailed them demanding a refund for the second time. I have since looked at the complaints for this website, and regret stumbling upon it. I was given a complaints number [protected] I do not expect a refund from this disgusting site although I by rights feel entitled to one. I was given a reference number LTK536011221554X.
