National Magazine Exchange fraud

The national magazine exchange, has lat a 16 year old use a credit card of mine to place an order with them. Not even checking with me or another adult here at home, to see if she was even of age. Now my account has been hit with charges from this very very sick company, which only cares about their pay checks and commission off of this bullcrap company!

just like all the other customers who have been a victim of nme mags frauds and scams, i also was did in the same manner. i was lied to about what i so-called "won". then i was told i purchased these mags when i hadnt even recieved a single item period. i called the company and they gave me four diffrent numbers to call to cancel. the same day i called and cancelled on every aspect possible that they gave me. the rep lady told me everything was cancelled and the would send me a offer sheet for if i ever changed my mind. THAT WAS A LIE. instead in the mail i received a sheet saying " if you do not send 80.00 dollars for the mags you will be reported to a collection agency." HOW? i never recieved anything, and i never agreed on anything, and i never sent a payment, in fact i cancelled. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD IF THERS ANY LAWYERS OUT THERE THAT WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THIS OBVIOUS FRAUD CASE< CONTACT ME @ [protected].

Today 06-27-2010 I called [protected] and gave my Sweepstakes ID Number: [protected] to enter a $45, 000.00 sweeepstakes. No purchase is required, supposedly. Then I was PRESSURED into subsvcribing to 3
magazines. I chose Baseball Digest, Popular Science, and Cat Fancy. I was offered a man's and a Ladies' diamond/crystal watches "free".I was then offered s "free" prepaid gift card, a "free" $25.00 coupon from Restaurants.com. Also I was told National Magazine Exchange (NME) would throw in 2 or 3 more magazines for "free".
All Of this for 48 months for $1.29/ week to be paid in installments of $33.54 per month for X months (I cannot reemember the specified months) but the math does not work out.
I want this order cancelled imediately. I do NOT want ANY magazines, free gifts or ANYTHING from NME.
IF it's true that "No Purchase Is Required" then leave me in the sweepstakes. If it's a lie than that's more fraud.

I received the same notice in the mail today and decided to do a search and found this rewarding information. I am throwing out this, STRIKE IT RICH VII SWEEPSTAKES, offer and not to get involed in such a scam. Who knows, they may have already ordered subscriptions in my name and I could be getting calls from the collectors within the next three months.

Sincerely,

Terry Montgomery

There is a legitamate winner and it is announced on or around 2/17/2010. Every one is pitched the sale ofcourse. This is marketing. NO ONE is obligated to purchase anything whatsoever. Everyone who calls in is entered into the sweepstakes and they are a legitamate business. They provide a good service for a very reasonable amount of money. What else do you want to know.
Pretty straight forward. This is a America and we are here to sell to the consumer as it should be. If you don't want the magazines go thru the pitch and decline until the salesperson has done their J.O.B. no problem and the entry is made. We are currently experiencing a recession the likes of which I have never seen in all my years of employment. Most all of these sales people are just like me...a mother of four who must feed, shelter and provide by doing what is available to do in a state with astronomical unemployment issues. At least you can say I am not sitting on my ### taking money from the government collecting unemployment like millions of others who are too damned lazy to even make an effort to go outside their comfort zones and be as assertive as required to be to make a living. Get real and stop being a whiny little baby. Be a grown up and walk the walk.

National Magazine Exchange?...Agora Marketing Solutions, Inc.NME..National Publishers Exchange..National List Exchange..Clearinghouse Magazine..National Clearing Exchange.. Million Dollar Sweepstakes..Strike It Rich 2 Sweepstakes..One Switch..N.M.E. Magazine Services..NME Prize Disbursement...Fantasy Riches Sweepstakes..Agora Marketing Solutions...Non of which are accredited by the Better Business Bureau...and DO NOT appear to practice good business or customer relations. Who, exactly are these "businesses"? They certainly use enough different names & have quite a number of complaints listed with the Better Business Bureau, about them. Some people might say the complaintants were a bunch of whiny babies, but I don't believe all people who enter complaints to the Better Business Bureau about any company, corporation, etc., are whiny babies...I believe any person who takes the time to file a complaint with the BBB has a ligitimate complaint. Since the BBB investigates complaints, follows through by providing their findings, etc. and they don't focus on only the negative side of things...Let's just say NME...or whoever they might be, with all those names, does NOT appear to be the type of business the majority of people would deal with, as a customer, if they were aware of this company's history and background! As for the previous comment posted by "Smarty"...he/she sounds quite defensive...is he/she employed by this company..or companies, whoever they might be?
As for the person making the complaint, send an email to everyone you know and let them know about your experience with this company and ask those people to forward that email to everyone they know, etc., etc., etc., ...you may save someone else from getting taken, which is a good thing, but even better, you'll keep a little money out of their pockets & wouldn't that give you a little satisfaction? Be sure to include all the names they use for "Their Business". And last, BUT NOT LEAST...you can check out any business, or anything else, on the internet. That could be very helpful in the future.

THEY let your kid use the card? Ummm who is the parent here? I know I wouldn't expect NME to lookout for the welfare of my kid and neither should you. You are probably one of those people who boycotts a tv station because they put something on you find offensive instead of just changing the channel. Here's some advice...be the parent instead of the baby!

National Magazine Exchange fraud?

While we were on the phone, I googled her "company" and saw nothing but complaints. I asked her politely to cancel my "subscriptions" for that reason. She complied and said that it had been cancelled. However, immediately after I went online and my credit card was already billed for that transaction. It is possible that it will be cancelled, but has not as of now.

Does anyone ever really win the GRAND PRIZE momey or is that the main way to suck people in.
I know with me they asked me if I was a current credit card holder to qualify for the FREE sweepstakes.
What a scam. Thanks for posting this info, I pulled it up online while on the phone with the solicitor.

Trust me, they weren't cancelled. And frankly I'm surprised they let you even say the word "cancel" before hanging up on you. If I were you, I'd go to your bank and tell them about your situation and have your account "frozen" so this company can't take anymore payments from you which they will if you don't act fast. Did they also offer you a 4 free magazine subscriptions and 2 gold watches to go along with your order? Go to edumacation.com/magazinesalesscams to see if any of that information applies to you.

National Magazine Exchange rip off

When I spoke with the customer service rep for this company and he said they would charge my card, I plainly stated to the rep that "I do not want you to charge anything to my card". "I do not have the money to do this at this time and I will call you back when I am able to do so." two day's after this call I was charged on my card. When I called to company to have them reimburse me they say that they cant! I also asked to cancel, they say they cant do that either! Not only that, they only asked me to pick 3 magazine's, I have been charged for 11! How is this company still in buisness? I have since closed my account to stop further charges from this company. And who in there right mind would pay over $200 in magazine subscriptions? Maybe the more fortuniate... But our economy these day's sucks, my money need's to go elsewhere!

Why did you provide your card # in the first place? If you stated that you did not want your card charged clearly then our Quality control which monitors all calls would have cxlled the order. The extra magazines were all in the (1.29 wkly) price already agreed! The problem is that alot of people do not listen but what we say is scripted so we do not mislead customers.

Yes I must agree it is a rip off I tired canceling mines no they told me the same thing. They promised that i would recieve a told of 5to6 magazines. Finally I recieved a magazine, "yes only 1 magazine" which was months later. That 1 magazine was the only 1 i recieved for up to a year. "Yes we the people need justice" because i dont need petty s*** like dis on my credit. There has to be a loop hole somewhere! Besides the bank card was old cause i figured it was a scam but they are still sending me delinquent notices. They charged me for all these magazines and i only recieve one so why so i pay when i didn't get what i order so that's them not keeping their commitment to thier end of the contract.

First of all, to the previous guy before me. You need to shut up because until you've walked a mile in someone else's shoes, you have no right to judge anyone else. Secondly to the original poster, just have your account "frozen" so National Magazine Exchange can't take any more payments from you. You'll be sent to collections of course but who cares. The Collection company will eventually give up. And don't worry, you're not the only one to fall for this scam they have running in Clearwater, Florida.

Sorry but most of you people are just plain dumb! You were LOCKED into magazines? O.k. they may be scammers but YOU said yes and YOU gave them your credit card number. I know someone who works there and I can tell you that you are told how much they are and YOU have more than one opportunity to say NO. Here's some advice...think before you speak and don't give your credit card info and personal info out to anyone. Here's some better advice...forget the sweepstakes...play lotto...you don't have to buy magazines to win.

National Magazine Exchange fraud and sweepstake scam!

Told my mother she "won" a sweepstakes" - even chose the magazines for her! Of course, a subscription was a "condition" of winning... Publications include Good Housekeeping, Everyday with Rachel Ray, Body and Soul, Best Life, Hallmark. Never even heard of some of these and they know full well what is going on... GH referred me back to these scam artists. Bill, a very charming, as in snake charming man, hung up on me when I tried to cancel, called my mother a liar and was going to "cut us a deal" for one year. Why aren't these crooks being stopped?

I was on the phone with them when I read everyone's posting about National Magazine Exchange. I'm so glad I didn't take the magazine. The supervisor I spoke with sounded as if she was totally pissed off when I decided that I wasn't going to go through with the "deal" She told me good luck and I just hung up on her.

I want to know did I still eligible to win the $2, 100, 000.00?

National Magazine Exchange unrequested magazines and charges

Sweepstakes - this should be illegal. I was told I would get magazines to try for three months. I said I didn't want them and was talked into "just" trying them for three months. As she was ending the call, she said I'm also throwing in...blah blah blah. What I got was magazines I never heard of nor would I order: Vixen, Latino, etc. Now I'm being charged hundreds of dollars. When I just called, Jerrald #49151 rudely told me I ordered them and paid for them and there was nothing to do. He said "Well you got what you paid for" I demanded to speak to a supervisor-- Charlene --of course, she was not there. He said he was in charge. He wanted to know what my credit card number was -- why? they obviously have it cause I can't stop them from charging me.
I demanded to talk to someone else. He put me on hold and told me to fax my statements to Hazel Bishop for refund if they damed so. I don't know where the company is to turn into the BBB.
Does anyone know where this company is located?

Why are Americans so gullible? The minute I saw this envelope, I knew it was a scam. The minute I opened it it confirmed that it was a scam. Yet, people see the dollar signs and make the call. You can't get your money back that I know of but you can "freeze" your account to stop them from charging you $67 a month. Of course they'll send you to "collections" although I question whether they even send you to a legimate collection agency. Hope this helps.

I live with my parents and a sweepstakes prize notice came in the mail to my father. He asked me to call about it for him. Boy, what a mistake! The person I talked to talked so fast and started telling me about these magazines that I could try as a free trial. I told them that we weren't interested in most of the ones they were offering, so they kindly started listing a bunch more. At the end of the call I understood that the cost would be $7.60 per month. When my mother got her bank statement it was $67.60, I called and told them I would like to cancel the subscription to all the magazines and they said we had ordered them. I was put on hold and the person came back on and told me that he had been given special permission to just charge my mother's account for $67.60 for two months and that was all and we would still receive the magazines. I told him we didn't want them, we hadn't heard of several of them either, but he said we did order them.

I'm just thankful one of my parents didn't call, it's hard to tell what they would have talked them into buying as a "FREE TRIAL" I'm stilling trying to get the magazines stopped and get some money back. If anyone has any ideas to try please let me know.

Thanks,
Glenda
