6010 Oakwood Dr. in Lisle, IL (Nicor acct# [protected] is a condo building. On 9/19, the owner of unit 6F called Nicor to report a minor gas leak in their furnace room. We explained to the Nicor tech who came out that the only gas appliances in the building are the furnaces, which are outside the units in separate rooms in the hallway. The units themselves are all electric. The tech then shut off the gas to the building. After the repair was completed, we called customer service to have our gas turned back on. We were told that we had to have a plumber there, as well as an HVAC tech to relight pilot lights, of which there are none. Nicor would then have to check every one of the seventy-two units for gas appliances, even though there is no gas service to the units. When we explained that the only gas appliances were the furnaces in the hallways, customer service said they would send out a tech to check the furnace rooms and do a pressure test, then turn the gas back on. The tech who arrived on 9/26 seemed focused on finding ways to get out of doing the job and told us we would have to get all the units inspected first, then left.
Desired outcome: We want our gas turned back on. The plumbers who were here on 9/26 did two pressure tests on the system, and it held both times. They also did bubble tests in all the furnace rooms and didn't find any leaks.
