North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] toll tag/zipcash billing

I paid some outstanding zip cash invoices where NTTA had not been charging my debit card previously. As a part of this, I settled my toll tag account and brought it to current. The very next day, I was charged again for my toll tag. The response I got was that because I brought my account to current, and the funds had not already transferred to NTTA, I was charged this $40 again. So now, that makes $80 that I have paid on my toll tag. I never consented to the additional $40, and if I had known that this would take place, I would not have paid the previous $40.

I want a refund of at least the $39 of the $40 that brought the account to positive originally. This is a very unfair and unethical practice, and It can't be allowed to happen.

Paid zip cash bills on Friday, 9/1 at 1:12am, with an additional $40 to bring account to positive.

Was auto charged the very next day, even though I now had the account above the $10 minimum threshold. (there was no reason I should have been charged again)

Second call today, 9/5 at 9:15am.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] ntta zipcash

I've never been so pissed. Everytime I call the Toll customer service I'm told different information. I pay every week since they mess up my credit card once before. Then I look up Im past due and theres no way to know. I sick of calling here weekly and get stuck in construction or traffic for over an hour every damn day. I don't even believe we should have to pay for a freeway in the first place. This crap is a scam.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] toll fees

Recently received a third notice of non payment when haven't driven through Texas in 2 years. A notice was received a year ago and payment was made. Now a year later there's no payment history and service representative would not let me speak to a supervisor.
We used the GPS driving through Texas on a Military move across country and the road we were on turned into a toll road. No exits were made through the route.
Either I dig through a years worth of paperwork to find the confirmation number or pay what I already paid the representative wouldn't even try to look through payment history.
Very unsatisfied.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] never received a first or second notice

I have not seen any notices of missed payments until the third which takes 10 dollars of toll fees and adds 170 dollars in admin fees. I pay my tolls online as always and never had any problems .The charges are from 10-2016 to 01-2017
I did move from Fort worth to Azalea tax in May 2016. I called Nita today to pay the toll and they said I would have to pay the fees also. Ave called Alliance and they tell me to call Nita and vice verse. I would like to pay the tolls and put this behind me . Account #[protected] plates -GZS 4682.
If they had sent me a notice i would have paid..

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] scam, scam, scam

I passed through Texas and was re-routed onto the tolls by a loved one. They told me to take them to avoid all the traffic. There was a huge backup from construction. I did this thinking no big, I'll pay a couple of dollars and be on my way. I get back home to Tennessee and get nothing from them. Almost 2 months go by and still nothing. One day I get a letter saying it's my second notice and I owe $75. I called them because wtf I never got a first notice, and since when are tolls $75 damn dollars. I was also unemployed at the time, and that's a lot of money I didn't have. I explained all of this to the employee, not only did they not care they said well you still have to pay it. I explained it was not possible at the current moment, and I really only owed them $20. The guy was like no we bill you every notice. I again explained this was my first and only notice, so for all I know they are lying about ever sending the first one. He said he would note my account, but it still had to be paid. Two more months go by, I get another notice saying now it's $100. If I don't pay it my vehicle will be red-flagged and they will take me to court. I call again and try to reason with these people. I get nowhere. They also were nice enough to send me to a collections agency. I explain to the collections agent the situation. She tells me NTTA will not budge or redact any fees. It is what it is. You either pay or it gets even more expensive. I literally laughed, and told her what a horrible business plan they have. Entirely devoted to scamming people for every penny. She agreed with me, but said to pay it or it will not go away. The thing that I don't understand is how can you seriously create this type of business model and expect people to just comply? Not to mention they kept trying to upsale me on a toll tag, saying it would save me $4. [censor] your $4, I'm never driving through Texas again. Hello Louisiana.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] overcharging administrative fees after payment made

On 3-15-17 I made full payment of amount due, come new invoice (3-7 to 4-7) additional amounts of 47.26 (.50 toll, 10.00 fee, 1.76 toll and 35 fee)owing. Then another invoice came for next months service and amount is up to 72.26. Tried to call after first notice and they had no information they could give me. Today, I spent over 45 minutes between ntta, payment solutions, alliance one, then back to ntta. NTTA credited the original 35 and I paid the .50 toll. They say they cannot do anything about the remaining 36.76 because it's already gone to collections. I called them to pay the bill, I am not avoiding my charges, I just can't get clear information. If there were invoices in between, I did not receive them. I am tired of hearing that no one can waive the amount in collections when I am a good customer and there are hundreds of people that don't pay their crap. At this point it's the principal of it. They have us all by the b-lls and it's not cool.

This agency in notorious for starting their collection effort with the very first bill tagging it as "1st Notice of Nonpayment".
So you go through toll roads and expect to get a bill. A couple of months go by and you get a "1st Notice of Nonpayment"! with an administrative fee attached to it.
I believe it is illegal to not send a bill and then demand payment with collection fees.
I wonder how many people just pay the extra fees without questioning it.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] invoices are not accurately billed

I received a zip cash toll bill /3rd notice of non payment detail this past week in the mail. The billing period says 3/22/17 to 4/21/17 and the column under legal action said invoice number [protected] unpaid amount 4.25 invoice number [protected] unpaid amount 6.91 invoice number [protected] 18.82 invoice number [protected] unpaid amount 5.88 now granted there are other invoices on this statement that was sent if you look under my account. I called today to pay these I had listed and was told by a very RUDE customer service representative Terrell at 10:55 am on 5/8/17 that these had all went to collections and all had administrative fees. Now if you notice about the billing statement was 3/22 to 4/21/ 17 and I just received it so how the heck would it have went to collections and administrative fees already been added I tried to explain this to Terrell the rep all he said was would you like to pay an invoice and which one. He was not acknowledging anything I had to say so I requested to speak to a supervisor then I was told that due to high call voulume he was told to say one would call back in 24 hours that I couldn't talk to one right now. I feel like this whole tollway is a SCAM I am trying to do the right thing and pay but every time I call I am told something totally different that I owe versus what the tollway sends me an invoice for which by the way like I said and what billing statement date also says was received so it should be accurate but it is not. I demand some type of assistance with this before I have to take it higher to an attorney or news or whatever I have to do because the tollway customer service is by no means trying to assist me and I am fed up with it. I have an autistic daughter, I work full time trying to take care of her and my other child and my sick mother I have no time for nonsense like this. Please help !

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] toll bill

I paid a bill back in 2014 completely off. Now it is 2017 they say I still owe it and I will keep receiving a 25.00 administration fee every month till I pay it. I said I will pay my current 21.98 Bill but not that again. I also have a toll tag and they accept that payment. They will not research their records to figure out how it happened they say they will keep adding to the bill. They do not care just payet it again. This is serious because here in Texas you can get arrested for not paying it. Yet they don't send the bill till months later and your on your third notice already. Where is the first and second notice. I never got it. The bills I paid in 2014 why is that showing as paid off. This is legalized racketeering. The general public is the ones having to pay the price.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] zip cash payment system

The Zipcash online payment system is down. The NTTA automated phone system is down. MoneyGram payments to NTTA are not working. Exactly how am I supposed to pay my Zipcash toll bill on time? By the way, I also never received a first bill, the first thing they sent me is a non-payment notice! I had no idea I was even on the toll road as I make it a point to avoid toll roads at all cost because I've heard so many horror stories about NTTA. Now I know why everyone hates NTTA.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] case id - 179303 unauthorized charges

Today is Thursday, April 13, 2017. I received an email from John Bannerman,
Customer Care Director. His email stated the following "NTTA will be unable to credit or refund any charges you may have incurred. You originally set up your TollTag account as a credit card backed account, and I would refer you to the TollTag license and user agreement, specifically 4c Accounts. As part of the covenants NTTA has with the bondholders who fund the construction of our roads, we are required to collect from all drivers, and out of fairness to those who pay their tolls on time every time, we must pursue payment from all drivers who use our roads. Normally, since these invoices have aged, tolls only is no longer an option, since operational costs have been incurred by NTTA, administrative fees are assessed to recover the cost of pursuit."

I called in to pay an invoice I received by mail. The representative told me I had to sign up online prior to paying. She walked me through the steps in creating an account. She then took the payment by the phone and advised me she had to charge an additional $10 to keep my account on good standing. I was not advised not once that they would charge my account on a DAILY BASIS to pay off a previous balance. This went on for two weeks. I suffered a significant amount of financial loss. I was unable to pay my rent, my light bill and buy my newborn much need diapers etc. I accrued several amount of fees from my landlord, my bank, and was forced to take out a loan.

NTTA are professional thieves! They have the worst customer service and over charge their clients.

When I sent them an email I requested for the board of directors, i was informed that they only handle significant cases. Is this not a significant case?

All I was asking from NTTA was to apply credits to my account from all the fees i received from the damaged cause by their company. I did not dispute their charges. I did not request a refund. I provided them with sufficient proof of all the fees I accumulated.

I hope and I pray NTTA is forced by the law to take responsibility for their actions. No company should be allowed to draft any amount from a person's account without their prior knowledge and authorization. This is inhumane.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] forced to pay bill on a vehicle I do not own

I was sent a bill for toll violations on a vehicle I have not owned in almost 2 years. They indicate a billing period of 1/27/2017-02/26/2017.

I called to speak with them and I have to say, I have never dealt with people like this.

NTTA indicated if ownership was in question, I needed to speak with DMV. I now know that this was their bluff and no matter what DMV said, they expected payment.

I spoke with the DMV on 3/9/2017 and they indicated that I INDEED submitted my Vehicle Transfer Notification on April 17, 2015. DMV was actually very helpful and submitted a letter with the VIN and vehicle information confirming I released ownership in April of 2015. I sent this letter along with other supporting emails proving I have not owned that vehicle in years.

They claimed DMV did not have the authority to dictate ownership of the vehicle and the tolls were my responsibility. I was shocked. They indicate that unless the title history shows the vehicle was switched prior to any alleged violation, I am responsible. DMV does not agree but North Texas Tollway Authority thinks they can over-ride them. I released ownership in 2015 per DMV.

After re-reading the letter to the employee (A man named, Michele) three times which states, "If a citation or toll-issuing authority contacts you for parking tickets, toll charges or other violations associated with the buyer's use of the vehicle, please provide them with a copy of this letter to verify you are no longer the responsible party.", he said it is STILL not valid. I requested he speak with DMV regarding this matter and he said he would not be able to do so. I asked to speak to a supervisor three separate times- I was denied this as well.

This is a terrible way to treat people no matter what position of authority you think you are in. I was told my only option was to pay the violations on a vehicle that is not mine, or they will add fees for being late on payment.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] bills never sent/fraudulent administrative fees

I just paid $100.00 for approximately $15.00 in toll charges that I never received a bill for! NTTA is the biggest scam of the State. The late fees are extreme and now they have stopped sending the invoices to make sure they really have you over a barrel!

But yet they can pay for an automated phone system that will call you "As a Courtesy" just when you have accumulated the extreme late fees. Initially I ignored the calls thinking they were a scam, as I had never received an NTTA bill. And when you attempt to investigate by accessing the NTTA site you need an invoice or account # to see what you owe. Unfortunately, if you don't have a bill to reference you have no idea what your account/invoice number is!

Ultimately, I received a "Courtesy Call" AND an Email with my account number requesting I resolve my account. Why not start with that FIRST! BEFORE all the late fees accumulate! And forget customer service, as they have "proof" the invoices were mailed, despite the fact you didn't receive them. So basically it's pay up and blame it on the post office... Can you say Highway Robbery?

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] fraudulent charges, crap service, and I haven't even been in texas

I am on my 4th cycle with NTTA. I have received a 4 digit charge, a $12000 range charge and two $17000 range charges I haven't been to Texas. A commercial vehicle has my Kansas antique tag number and is apparently racking up $40k to $50 in toll charges in Texas. How truckers make money down there is beyond me. So the first $17000+ bill had been corrected with multiple efforts to contact them and a minimum of an hour on the phone, I was promised that they would make a note on my account (similar to the last time) that would assure that I would not be billed again. I also complained about being turned into collections based on their fraudulent charges and the woman assured me that I would not be turned into collections for any of this. During this time, I had definitely given them my phone number and email for contact information. This last $17000+ bill, they contacted me through my email and left messages on my cell phone to call them back. I did return the call but the customer service could not look up my account by my name, number, or email since I did not have my tag number or my given account number. So after being given confirmation that they removing the charges, I receive a letter from a collections agency for a $15.48 charge that is now $50.48 when they add administration fees. WTF? Were they vindictive because I was mad about receiving multiple $17000+ bills from them? I don't ever remember getting a $15.48 bill since all of them were 5 digit after the first one. They have not done anything to fix their own system problems and continue to pass it to innocent non-consumers.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] unethical toll tag billing for rental car

I have been regularly receiving bills saying that my toll tag account is passed due. Every time I called in they would say that it was up to date or one time (after losing my debit card) that my card just needed updating and it was only 1 dollar passed due. I would say "are you certain because I'm getting these notifications" and the rep would say no you are all up to date.

Today I called because the charges on the most recent letter were over $200 dollars and I thought there is something very wrong. I asked them to verify all of the cars on my account and the car they had was a rental car of mine which I called to be removed over 5 months ago. They did not even have my own car on the account? I gave them the date that I removed the car from the account and offered receipt proof that the car was turned back into Enterprise. I asked to speak with a manager and was put on a 20 minute hold and hung up on.

When I called back of course the rep said there were no notes of the previous call. He then went on to tell me that all of my charges from 8/26 until today were for the rental car and he was going to transfer me to a manager who would be able to resolve my issue. The escalations manager by the name of Mary employee ID # 7606 said that unfortunately the $160 dollars that had been drafted from my account for the past 6 months would not be transferred to be applied to my actual car which is now showing a huge balance due.

This is completely ridiculous and predatory considering I can called about these notices many times and been reassured that my account is in good standing. When I asked for her superior's information she would not give me a response. She was very unprofessional and offered no solution for someone who clearly maintains a good standing with their offices. I was offered no resolution and the manager did not even ask me to bring my account into good standing. There is nowhere on their web site to file a complaint. As a citizen who is responsible and does all that I can to avoid these kinds of situations, I feel robbed and left with no choice but to pay these outrageous fees on my own car when I've actually been pay tolls regularly for the past 6 months. Ludacris.

I am in the same boat regarding rental car that I personally removed on the website, and still got bills for 5 months. NTTA continue to maintain that their systems have no record of my removing it, and just say nothing to do done its my fault. Their systems have bugs obviously.

Told them never seen the notice before this how am to pay she just says you pay or we take you to court like no sorry or nothing dang. North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] unauthorized charges

On the 12/19/16, I called NTTA to take care of a "Zipcash" invoice that was sent to me since I was advised my Tolltag account had gone to -$0.70 and since there was no card on file, it billed as Zipcash.

I had cancelled my previous Tolltag because I was charged $700 in "Auto charges" where NTTA claimed they were back charges. Not only is this absurd, but I got nowhere with their mentally [censor]ed personnel so I cancelled the tag.

In any case, the agent on the phone advised in order to clear the current account of "back charges" and put $40.00 into my new Toll Tag account, a total of $132.84 was due.

She confirmed this was the total owing and this would bring everything current and no other charges were due. This makes sense since my current Tolltag balance shows as $39.30.

I agreed and my card was charged $132.84.

Here's where NTTA start stealing again:

The very same day, another $40.00 charge appeared. Then on the 12/22/16 - yet another $40.00.

On the 27th and 28th - ANOTHER TWO $40.00 charges.

TODAY ANOTHER $40.00 was charged!

That's $200.00 of extra charges I was not aware of nor did I authorize. Not only that but NTTA do not respond to emails except send a canned response stating when the balance reaches $10, it auto bills.

Considering I have been mostly at home during the holidays and haven't gone anywhere, NTTA could not explain how I racked up $200.00 in toll charges from my couch.

They are professional frauds and thieves.

I had my bank auto decline any future charges from this racket and filed to dispute the $200.00 in "auto bill" charges. They should rename it 'auto-thieve' because that's precisely what it is.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] unethical behavior / poor customer service

I've been dealing with NTTA for almost a year now. When I would use the tollway and call asking for a balance, I was told I didn't have anything past due or to check my bill. I mentioned I never received a bill, so I was told not to worry about it. Well, a few months later, I received a letter stating I missed my court date and had accumulated erroneous charges. When my husband called, they said that they sent out several statements, but we didn't receive a single one. The NTTA representative informed him that they received returned mail, but that we were still responsible for the balance. When asked what address they sent the statement to, they said they sent it to an old address, not the address the cars were registered to. The address they sent my statements to is an address I haven't lived at for 4 years! None of my mail or bank statements are associated with that address and both cars are registered to the correct address so when I asked why they sent statements to incorrect addresses, they refused to respond with a direct answer and then the agent became rude. I've been trying to negotiate these erroneous charges for a year now. I don't feel it's right nor ethical that I be charged with court charges for a missed court date when I never received notice of a court date to begin with. My husband and I are willing to either settle or pay what we ACTUALLY owe, but no one st NTTA seems to want to take ANY accountability for their mistakes and their unethical behavior. My husband recently asked to speak to a supervisor (after being threatened multiple times on the phone by a condescending and rude rep) and was told I would receive a call within 48 hours. Well, it's been four days and still no call. Either NTTA is one huge scam and everyone there is a crook or no one there is willing to do what's right and reach out to me/my husband, take accountability for their faults and their unethical billing practices, and resolve this matter once and for all.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] customer service/outrageous fees

I called in March of 2016 to take care of a past due balance of $78. I had moved and did not receive my mail in a timely manner as it got lost in my mom's pile of mail. When I called to pay it I had $70 in administrative fees!. $70 for $8 in tolls. When I spoke with them in March I was added to my significant others Toll Tag account. I added to pay $20, but i would get a discount on my bill and the current account balance would take care of my fees owed. I agreed. 9 months later I am dealing with them again with the same balance. I call in to ask questions, because I thought this was a new bill since the billing date was until December. When I spoke with Carlos, a man who did not know what he was talking about, he didn't even know how to answer the phone, he informed me I had several different bills with high administrative fees. I had an additional $150 bill that I had never received. Apparently that bill had $90 in administration fees. I have never felt so taken advantage in my life by a company. The customer service representative that was given to me could only form the words "uhhh." When asking for an explanation I got a snarky man who doesn't care where others money is spent. I ended up paying $286 for the last 6 months in tolls. I paid an amount twice. I asked for a supervisor and was told there was not one available. I still have yet to get a clear response of what I actually paid for. i was told my account was being sent to the DPS which would not allow me to register my car once it was there. This is a bill that had already been paid. When telling Carlos I had never received a bill for $150 I was met with an "It was mailed to your address." When I was finally able to speak with a supervisor I was told she would listen to the call and coach him. How does this help me understand why I am paying $286? I just can not get over how a company can charge $70 in administrative fees for $8 in tolls. Not to mention the rest of the outrageous charges. This company can not continue to do this to people. They can not treat people this way when they call and then bill insane amounts. if there was a way I didn't have to take toll roads I certainly would.
