North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] charged for someone else's car/tolls

I sold a car, and continued to be charged for the tolls the new owner was using. I contacted NTTA once I figured out why my toll account was eating up so much money. They removed the car from my account, but stated that they would NOT credit the tolls back to my account. NTTA told me to contact the new owner for reimbursement - are you kidding! That is supposedly their policy to continue to charge you until you notify them. But I was calling to notify them, because I noticed the problem. There is NO grace period for this type of thing?!?! I have 60 days to get a vehicle registered, why would I not have a grace period to notify NTTA . . . I should have done it "immediately" was what I was told. Yeah, that's the first thing on MY mind when I sell a car.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] charge for toll I have never used

I am contacting you regarding an issue I have had with a customer service agent, Shawonna occurring today (9/19/2015). I am currently on hold to speak with a supervisor as well. I received a bill in the mail (#[protected]) and I called as I DO NOT use toll roads. The agent said it was a toll road on Montgomery. Where is Montgomery? I asked her where this was located and received no response. I live in San Antonio. I was in San Antonio for the 4th of July weekend. I asked the agent what day was the 5th of July and she said "the day after the 4th of July." I told her there was no reason to be a smart ### and asked to speak to a supervisor. She continued to fight with me and interrupt her. If she does not want to be called a smart ###, then she does not need to be one. I did not go on any toll roads on Montgomery, I do not even know where that is. I just spent about an hour on the phone for something I did not do. Shawonna just came back and said a supervisor well have to call me back.
This is extremely unethical to bill people for something they did not do. Who do I complain to regarding this

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] turned in to collections

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Charged $37.65 for $2.65 (2 toll fees) because they said my license plate wasn't updated! First trans was on Feb 14 and the second was on Nov 25 and by the way they used my toll tag just fine on Nov 18! Their policy states that if a bill was sent then, that's that! Forget the fact that they have no clue if you actually received the bill. So as far as their concerned, bill sent ='s $35.00 fee. And let's top it off with... she added my old license plate to the system and had to delete it once I explained that it was my old one and now when I log in, my husband and I both have the same license plate number assigned to our vehicles! So tell me again why we have that ugly sticker stuck in the middle of our windshield? COME ON TEXAS GET A BETTER SYSTEM! I thought everything was bigger and better in TEXAS!

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] fraudulent charges

Twice I have received invoices billed to my Son who is in the military when he was overseas and could not possibly have been where they say he was.

Finally got that settled, and basically was told it wasn't a big deal.. Umm yes it is.

Then I received a billing stating my toll tag account has received a negative balance.. I don't have a toll tag account. The letter says I need to remit the negative balance, however when I spoke to the NTTA representative today, she said she doesn't see a negative balance for me to pay.

First off, why should I need to have a toll tag for 3 trips to the metroplex a year?

Second, why take out the cash pay option?

Third, why the nonchalant attitude about the constant issues with the system?

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] theft

I had received final notice for toll bills. I tried to do the right thing and call them to make a settlement since I had never received the first notices for non-payment and now the bill was $819. They settled for $325. I gave the later my card info to make a payment for $133 and she says "oh I apologize, but it looks like the card was charge $502.08 for some reason. Let me look into it". Moments later I was told that they did a stop payment, but it had already over drafted my account by $81. They offered no help with it. They did not care that I had to pay my power bill the following day or that I needed gas in my car. All I got was "I am sorry ma'am. The money SHOULD be credited back within 72 hours". I am beyond mad with these people. First they basically rob us with their fees and such, then they literally stole $502 from and made me wait for 3 days to have money to even buy food. Absolutely ridiculous.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] extorsionary fees

NTTA's toll fees have become ridiculous, to the point I'm going to no longer take them, and endure the pain of going back roads to my destiations.

They charged me about $160 in the last few weeks.

I live in Rowlett and the toll fees between Merrit drive out where i live and FIrewheel are like $2.50 - RIDICULOUS! what is WRONG with these people?

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] extortion

They charged me $40.50 for a $5.50 toll. I was on my way to Florida to take care of my mom while she was in Hospice, I was there from January until the beginning of May. I never received an invoice from NTTA, I did not get this second one until August 2nd, with a $35 fee.

I've paid on 2 different vehicles and trust me when I say it's a long story they are saying I still owe the same amount on the same two vehicles leaving me to wonder how I'm going to pay this, the state has allowed them to legally extort money from people for running tolls and its become out right ridiculous . I've shelled out over 1200 dollars and there saying we still owe 3000 plus when I called and had all this taken care of.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] tolls

According to the north Texas tollway authority they have sent me 3 invoices, initially $8.44 which I would have gladly paid however, I never received any invoice. Finally, I received an invoice that was the third notice. It was for 6 times the amount or the original bill. I called north Texas tollway authority to hopefully come to a resolution and spoke with a nice representative but she was unable to help. I spoke with a manager, Mary, and at this point regardless of being able to do anything about the excessive fees she was rude and unprofessional. Her comments about me refusing to purchase a toll tag (which I just explained that I don't live any were close so that would be pointless) we demeaning and rude. My suggestion is to do everything you can to avoid traveling on any of their roads as they don't deserve the business.

Please fight your rights against NTTA, don't just complain here, I had to do above and beyond to bring this company down. As a military veteran, this company had reported me as habitual violator for some bills that they claimed was sent last year 2014. I had to report them to FTC, and Consumer Complaint Agency, yes you will pay $25 for the service, but it is worth having a strong company to defend your rights.

http://www.consumercomplaintagency.org/filecomplaint.html

NTTA had reported me to a 3rd party collecting agency as habitual violator for not paying a bill from 2014 that I had never received. Yet, they were able to send another invoice for my Nissan Sentra and I had already paid it this year 2015. This company is threatening me and other consumers to suspend the license and will file a misdemeanor case for not paying bills? I asked for any evidence that they had mailed it and they failed to provide me any copies. Phone calls will not work as they are afraid to speak up, they are good at sending e-mails because they are such "coward" and knows truly that they robbing all the Texans citizens.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] terrible customer service

Customer service reps were nice, but very helpful. I called because my rental car was charged cash price for tolls when I have a toll tag. I called NTTA and gave them the plate number but a supervisor said no record of the call could be found and said, "I'm not saying you did or didn't call...it doesn't matter how long you've had a toll tag, that's not what we look at." The supervisor's name was John and he was very rude, unprofessional, and borderline insulting. I did my part to call when I was supposed to and when I asked him why I was being penalized if the error was on their end his response was "well we can't go by word of mouth that you called." Very disappointing.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] ntta double billing

This has to do with double billing from the NTTA of which I have a textoll tag on my vehicle and have been getting zipcash notices from the NTTA and also being charged for the same on my textag account. I have all ready paid over three hundred dollars out to keep them from turning me over to their collection agency, which oddly enough is also located in the NTTA office in Dallas. I have talked online, on the phone and in person at the NTTA office about this and even presented the proof but they refuse to even look at the proof or discuss it. They say my problem is with textag not them even though the bills are coming from NTTA. I have been working on this for about 8 months. I have faxed several times all my documents and proof and spoken several times to textag people, they have all my documents and proof there but still can't seem to get things straight. I just got another bill yesterday, Feb 14, 2015 from the NTTA for new billing plus late charges for not paying sooner, 193.38 dollars, for charges that I pay to textag all ready from automatic draw from my bank amount in 40 dollar lump sums as needed to pay their tolls. Does anyone know of a lawsuit happening to stop this mess? I heard on the news in Dallas last week that there was a way to get this problem addressed and get the money back from the NTTA for this wrongful billing? At my wits end.

YES, NTTA is such a SCAM and I had never experienced such an AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MY LIFE. I have also proof of my bank statement that I had paid them back in March, 2015 a total of $274 and yet I had received a phone call from a 3rd party agent that NTTA had turned me in for a habitual violation for unpaid invoice? THIS COMPANY IS CRAZY, GREEDY AND ALL OF THE CURSE I CAN THINK OF. I had served the military and do not deserved to be treated like this and I am ready to file a complaint to FTC, BBB etc. Now, I see all the complaints from a lot of people, so it is TRUE that they are sucking in all the hard earned money from Americans. God bless America!

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] fake charges

I live in Washington State and received a bill from NTTA YESTERDAY stating I owed $2.70, plus the $10 administrative fee for using the tolls in North Texas. I lived in Houston until August 1 of 2013 and re-licensed my car in Washington on August 26, 2013. I have not driven my car out of Washington and Oregon since August 2013. My old Texas license plates are in my bedroom. However, according to my toll bill, I used a North Texas toll road without paying on December 5, 2013 and March 19, 2014. I've never even been to North Texas in my life. I believe this company is scamming people - maybe they have access to DMV records and are sending fake bills to people hoping they will pay them? I realize my charge is VERY small, but I'm sure other people are being charged for things they didn't do, as well. Now their website is down. Either the NTTA is scamming people or someone hacked their system and is scamming.

I keep getting a zip cash toll bill account I'd [protected] for toll charges. I live in Amarillo tx I have not traveled to dallas tx within the last 4 years. This license plate number does not match my license number and the car does not match my car. I drive a 2007 white convertible ford mustang. I have called many times and the company apologizes and removes the charges but like clockwork the next month I get another bill. Please fix this. Rachel rooney [protected]

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] first notice nonpayment letter

I received a first notice non payment letter on 12/31/14 for an invoice on the amount of $8.40 which I never received... Which was my third time getting a notice like this. The first two times I quested it because I was 90% sure I didn't get the original the original invoice. After getting the second one on different invoices I said if this happens a third time I'm going to call them. Which I did on 1/2/15 I talked to Charlotte and gave her the account ID and she then pulled up the account and said yes ma'am you received the notice for not paying. I said I never received the original invoice so therefore I didn't have a notice to pay from... She said well that how the systems works and we send notices out when not paid. I asked her if she could just stop one minute and listen to what I'm saying to her. So, I repeated that I never got an invoice for 8.40, I told her I have a file set up for all my Statements, invoices etc and I never got that invoice and that this has happened before. I asked her if she could tell me when the invoice was sent out? She said yes, she could so she looked and found the invoice. But it was never sent out, she said that she was sorry but the post office didn't send the original invoice out. I said okay can you take the 10.00 for the Adminstratove fee since the letter was sent in error. She said yes it you are paying your totally toll bill today. I said no the rest isn't due until 1/21/15 and I will pay then.. She said okay call back whe. Your ready to pay and we can take it off if you call on the phone otherwise we can't. I said inhave to hold on for 25 minutes again to pay so you can take off 10.00 that should never have need added to My account . I said what procedure is that and if I would not have called and paid online and not question it... I would have paid for something that should not have been on there. I said I wonder how many texans are just paying this notices and never got the original invoice. She said well if they call in we will let them know and take it off... Again I'm sure several hundreds it if not thousands pay this. It ice without questioning. So, this is such an injustice to customers to not have received and invoice and charge Adminstrative fees for not paying when they never received. And the customer should not have to continue to call and get this taken off when it should not have been ur on there anyway. this should not continue to happen, there should be better oversight and an non payment notice should not be sent if the original invoice hasn't been sent.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] lack of proof/invoice

My husband received a call on 10/29/14 from a collections agency regarding unpaid tolls in the amount of 83.38 on behalf of NTTA from 2012. First of all, my husband asked for proof, i.e. invoice and was told one was sent in 2012 and they could not provide another one. Issue number 1, we don't even know if this is legitimate. Issue number 2, we had an account setup online with NTTA for the past 3 years that we lived in Dallas where they could have taken and/or NOTIFIED us that we had outstanding tolls. Additionally we recently moved to another state, I notified NTTA via email and received a refund to close out account for over payment. Issue number 3, if this agency could call my husband 2 years after the fact, why could they not have called us sooner since the number has been the same this entire time and why can they not provide actual proof. We take care of our business and surely would not have an issue paying 83.38 if we would have received an actual bill. I have spent the past two days requesting proof from the agency and NTTA and nothing has been sent. I call this fraudulent activity and abusing their power. We went online and paid based on a phone call with a file number and amount that did not even show our name or actual amount due in fear of something this ridiculous showing up on our credit report. What a complete joke!

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] fines — bills sent to collections

How do we put up with the unfair/unlawful tactics of the NTTA? I don't know how these practices are legal! I've tried to help my son keep on top of his toll tag account. Earlier this year, the account stopped showing activity. We thought the NTTA was last posting as they often were in the past. Little did we know, charges were racking up and were not shown online because he had a zero balance! I thought a zero balance was a good thing! If the account had shown activity I would have put money in the account. He did not receive bills until they were in collections. Now he owes between $800 and $900 for very few tolls. HE HAS A TOLL TAG! He was charged non-tolltag rates and was not notified in a timely manner. The collection agency will not discuss the reps are rude and just say you have to pay. He does not have the money. If he pays gradually they want four payments of $400+ MORE PENALTY/INTEREST!
This after we paid $1000 for tolls that a person that bought a car from us used. When we caught it the NTTA ombudsman only reduced it by 20%. They then intended to bill the new owner. This despite the fact that the state records showed the title transfer before the tolls were used.
WHY IS SOMETHING NOT DONE ABOUT THIS AGENCY?

I received a bill for tolls incurred by someone driving a car with a Pennsylvania license plate with the same number as my Texas plate. The picture is clearly of a Pennsylvania tag yet the people looking at this still billed me, a Texas resident, for the Pennsylvania owners bill.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] changed account id on my account

Paid a bill to NTTA that was not cashed called them to find out why. They said they never received it. Tried to look up my account ID by the Account ID I had from a previous bill. They told me that is not a good account ID, I told them it is because it is a bill from them and that is what is on my invoice. She looks up my account ID by my license plate # and tells me my account ID is something totally different than my invoice I am looking at. I ask has NTTA changed customers account numbers, she tells me no. I pay my bill over the phone since they cannot locate the payment. A week later they send me my check back saying they cannot apply this check it had the wrong account # on it. Geez you would think with modern technology they could look it up by my name and address that is on my check. Bottom line they changed my account ID and had no way to cross-reference the OLD acct ID from the NEW ID...

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] tolls

Hello, I am so tired of NTTA sending late bills even after they have been informed on several occasions we filed chapter 7 bankruptcy. My husband and I refuse to ever drive toll roads again after all the fees they charged us. We even had toll tags and they would hold our bills for 90 days then send them after charging ALOT of fees. We filed bankruptcy due to the NTTA charging us hundreds and hundreds of dollars. They are still selling our past due amounts to collecters even after the fact we discharged this debt in chapter 7 Bankruptcy. These people that run the NTTA are horrible. It is against the law to continue to collect on discharged debt.

North Texas Tollway Authority [NTTA] scam

On approximately August 1, 2014, via mail I received a "Bill" from the North Texas Tollway Association. Although the letter is ambiguous; All it really details is a photo of my license plate and infers that I did not pay a toll.

What's wrong with this picture?
I am 55 years old and have never been billed for zooming through a tollway in my entire life!
Although I was on a "tollroad" recently I entered and exited without going through a tollbooth!
How can I be charged for not paying a toll, when I never was at a tollbooth, in the first place!
Their website and telephone numbers reeks of "scam, " I never plan to travel the toll-way the
rest of my life, if this is what has become "legal."

If that were not enough the $4.25 amount I allegedly incurred is not even half of it. I just want to pay the bill,
but everything associated with their website is ambiguous, I don't even know if they accept checks or money orders,
no-one ever answers their ostensible "customer service" telephone lines.

Then I read the horror-stories about NTTA on this website. Dear God, what did I do to deserve this fraudulent nightmare?
