Former employee / poor treatment / bullying
I worked for O'Reilly for almost seven years. My last 6-8 months at hub store #1738 was the worst time I have ever had at an employer. I had been forced to drive hub routes when people called in or were off (which wasn't that big of a deal) as I was a merchandiser and it was part of my job duties. The thing is that my duties were not being completed while I was off doing other tasks so my duties were falling behind. I did what I could to get back to my duties to no avail. I come back from vacation in the middle of September and was told how the showroom looked horrible because I wasn't taking care of it (reminder: I was driving all of the time, working 9-10 hours a day with no break or lunch). The shelves were dirty and empty, planograms behind, OFM reports behind, so I got talked to and told I wasn't driving anymore (thankfully) and wasn't allowed to hellp out in the hub or in commercial. Finally, I can get my work done.
So I think I am going along well, doing everything I'm asked including helping on the counter more than a merchandiser is supposed to be (I'm not supposed to get almost $10000 in sales a month, but did for several months). I was covering for a guy who was 2-3 hours late every day and it got to the point where the assistant manager was going to his house to wake him up to come to work.
Fast forward to March 2022 when the store was preparing for its annual inventory. I'm supposed be helping with precounts, but again I was covering the counter where we were short-handed and employees showing up late So I didn't really have a chance to help with precounts with everything else I was doing. The weekend of the inventory I found out I had a sinus infection and wasn't feeling great but was still there. The person who was supposed to be "in charge" of merchandising left early for a concert she had paid in advance for, which I could care less about.
Later in the week she starts with her passive'agressive talk about someone complaining about her leaving early when they didn't bother to help prepare. I knew she was talking about me and I had never said anything, which she didn;t believe. I'm also trying to finish planograms that were overdue because of the inventory and I get yelled at about not putting stock up by her. Whatever.. The weekend of our wedding anniversary I took Friday off as a personal day and Monday was another store's inventory. I show up at my store Tuesday and am told that I'm being moved to a driver because "it's best for the store". and told by the assistant manager they already had someone for my position and that "we talked and talked and talked to you about this". Talked to me about what? I was confused, shocked and heartbroken. I threw my drawer key on the counter and walked out. I've never done such a thing before. I had no write-ups and my reviews had always been good. When I received my final paycheck, my approved personal day was taken away and I was not paid for it.
Meanwhile, this same assistant manager and "lead" merchandiser both have commercial accounts but do not have a commercial business. They use it to give discounts to people they can't use there employee discount for. The merchandiser is a controlling bully who has to have her way and the assistant manager wouldn't know the truth if it bit him on the [censored]. He was also a bully, belittling me in front of customers and coworkers because he thought it was funny, even though it was insulting.
There are so many more things to list, but don't have the room. Bottom line, O'Reilly cares nothing about their employees and only about their profits.
Desired outcome: I'd like to see the assistant manager and "lead" merchandiser be reprimanded for their behavior. No one should be treated the way I was. No one should get put in an undesirable position and forced to quit.
Battery
I bought o'reilly battery. In august it will be 2 years since purchase. Problem I took it to my o'reilly's in russell springs, kentucky, they said battery was fine when checked. The thing is when I have to jump it every time, I get in it to drive. I had to borrow I jumper and it shows my battery dead. My mechanic said the same thing. So, my question is why do they push me off until warranty is no good or what?

Whoever the bald headed gentleman with the mustache at the Miamisburg location on Heinke is a complete jerk. He talked down to me like he knew so much more than I did about my car car bc he's had several similar vehicles. Being a woman i feel like he was only acting like that because I was a woman. It was disrespectful and insulting to be talked down to like I was inferior to him.
Desired outcome: Not allow him infront of customers. He has no customer service skills
Store associates
I often stop by the local store down the road not only because my company has an account but also is convenient. I have had enough of the rude employees and the loud music they play in the store and the explicit language they use. Yes, this is something that happens often with the evening help at the 109 store in Raytown and I have had enough. If you cant get better help then perhaps you should just look at closing this store at 5 PM. The help is often I think rebuilding cars in the parking lot and they seem to be put out when a customer shows up and they have to assist them. I can't count the number of F-bombs I have encountered at this store and will be forced to shop somewhere else as this store is a mess. I have gone to this store and they tell me they don't have something that it says they do have online and so I go back the next morning and the morning shift people pull it out ready to sell. Why didn't they do that the night before, they didn't want to help anyone?
This is not my first complaint about this store.
Desired outcome: I should not need to give any of this info as any quality manager would already know how to handle this situation.
A throttle sensor for 2010 F150
I went in probably about 3 weeks ago and bought a throttle sensor I tried it put it on the truck and it would not work I had to get my truck towed into the shop and then the shop told me that they had to buy another one and put on the truck to make it work and they told me to take that one back to Hattiesburg and Miss Mississippi where I bought it I carried it back in because they didn't have the box I didn't have the box from where I first bought it they wouldn't take it back so now I bought the throttle sensor twice and it was messed up it wouldn't work and they told me they would take it back unless I have the boss and my trucks been in the shop for 2 weeks and I mean it's taking this long for me to get it fixed they should have carried it back at Rite Aid don't work and I don't know if imma be able to find the box and I just think that that crappy because it was it would didn't work it was messed up anyway what I mean is damaged
Desired outcome: I want my money back for the scholarship for the $112 outfit cuz I bought it twice now
shipping prices and local pickup
I was going to ordera 2 ft piece of 8 ga wire and two alligator clips on line and total was approx 7.00 and you were going to charge 12.40 for shipping. What is wrong with you people. That is totally out of line. That was lessthan 1 pond order. So I ordered from local store thaey said it would be in @ 4:00 pm today .I went to the store and it did not come in This company was a real good company . Now I have to spend more gas and time to go back 30 miles to get my part and have to wait till Monday to get it. If it comes in

Desired outcome: A damn good discount
Defective part
I purchased a coil pack (part#23-0139) on 4/16 for $112.65.
I installed it on 4/29 when customer finally dropped vehicle off.
Then on 5/3 my customer returned around 8:30 that evening headed out of town with her Nissan miss firing again. After diagnosing the problem it was the new coil pack that was missing. I found a old one I had and fixed it. I understand the no return on a electrical part but this is a defective part. I returned the part but was told they would replace it but not refund me. I don't need it now. So I own a brand new defected coil pack. I was a good customer I spent alot of money with you but I won't step foot back in another Orilleys store again. If I could get my refund it would be business as usual for you and me but until then. Thanks
Desired outcome: Please refundI would like a response
people that work their
it would be a plus to get someone to work their that knows just a little about cars. i went to get parts. but since Andrew does not know anything about hoses i ask if i could go look at the hoses you have in stock, he told the girl their to go with me because he does not trust me thought i might be a thief. this is the kind of people you hire. thought i would give another chance when i was talking to the guy that works their what i needed BUT his text was more important. I have read that o'reilly really does not care about customers. but thought i would give it a chance . until something gets done i will continue going to Al's
Sales slip
I went into our Hutchinson O'Reilly Auto Parts store went to the counter asked for my items and they rang them up I signed my slip and left. Later that day at my bank account and the charge was 79.25 cents higher than my slip. Then I notice on my slip it says thus is a quote only prices subject to change. Since when can a buisness complete a transaction then after you leave the store raise the prices of what items I don't even know just a 79.25 increase nothing was said to me at time of checkout just a quote on my receipt And who would ever look fir that I have never heard of such a dishonest practice I am so mad that I can't even go back to the store yet because zi don't know what I will do when they say to ne some [censored] reason why they are right. Is this standard practice I think it's very bad buisness and should be fraud and misrepresentation.
Desired outcome: Get my overcharge refunded to me Abd I also was supposed yi receive a 10percent discount because these items were for my boss and he has an account. I paid for it and was reimbursed the original price not the increased price
Rude sales representative
I have been into my oreillys auto parts every day for the past let’s say 3 or 4 days because I’m having issues with my trailer lights well the first guy was real nice didn’t catch his name but he is a very nice person and very helpful well the one I came in contact with tonight was very rude, didn’t help me with the part I needed, just sat behind his desk and was rude as heck to me. I asked him if he thought this trailer light matched the broken one I had in my hand or if he could possibly show me the right one well he then tells me “ it’s not my trailer I don’t know what you need and you are in here everyday and never know what you need” he didn’t have to be so ugly. So I told him kindly I will go to auto zone where they at least help me find the part I have in my hand to the closest match. He told me go ahead and go. His name I believe was Tim he is an older man maybe in his 50s a cocked eye and chunky he works at the bay St. Louis ms oreillys auto parts on hwy 90. This happened at around 7pm. I will not return to that store. I went to autozone and told them about my horrible experience and they said they get those complaints all the time about all the staff at oreillys. The man really embarrassed me in front of his other coworker (who also isn’t friendly with the big holes in his ears and piercings in his nose) and a customer who was in the store. I will always give my business to autozone from here on out because at least there im treated right and I know it was because I am a female because if it were my husband he wouldn’t have talk to him that way. I’m very upset and I hope y’all can get better staff
Desired outcome: Maybe teach these rude employees of yours to treat the customer better and get up out the chair and help the customer look for what they need
Employee named Robert, Store#5989
Employee has been observed over some time now and myself as well as others have seen Robert physically make women uncomfortable with looks and sexual gestures/comments, he likes to belittle true service men/women and is absolutely unexcusable as well as make physical/verbal threats to customer and employees! I went to the store in Rochester Hills, MI looking for bulb that burned out in my 2014 Ford Escape on the passanger side. I walked in asking what to look for and this young gentleman looked up the product and told me what to look for. (3157), isle 4. I went to isle 4 and all different brand names but me as a girl didn't know which one the best was to get. I walked back to the counter and asked if he could show me the best one to buy. He wasn't busy and told me just to go pick one out. 1 customer in the store and he couldn't even help me out, let alone telling me to just pick one out. Is this how customer service is now? Disrespectful to a customer and not taking the time to show me the difference between brand names. Yes, I do work in customer service everyday as an Insurance Coordinator and yes, I know how things can be sometimes but just takes kindness to help a customer out. I took my business elsewhere and have been telling people about how rude workers at O' Reilly's.
Desired outcome: need to take a look at who you are hiring and how your staff treats people.
Purchase a faulty refurbished rack and pinion and when I went to exchange for another part, I was told that the part I had was not theirs.
I am so upset right now. I purchased a rack in pinon for my 2004 Honda Accord om 3/28/22. I took the part to my mechanic and he did the insulation of the part. Once he was finished servicing my vehicle, I pick the car up, within 2 hours of driving off with my car, I noticed the car was leaking some type of fluid. I immediately took it back to the mechanic...

I live in Fairbanks, Alaska and order all my parts online and O'Reilly frankly has the worst communication. I never get an email that my order has been filled and I can come pick it up. Two of the best companies for communication are AutoZone and Home Depot. Lowes is the worst and I think of yawl as the Lowes of the automotive parts industry. A long time O'Reilly customer I have takin' my business to AutoZone. Ain't nobody got time for poor communication.

I had bought theses brakes at O'Reilly's and I got the wrong ones for my car bc they don't fit
Managers @ Walker South Road Louisiana
I have an issue with the way my son was fired. My son Skylar Matherne was sent home an hour early on Friday 03-04-2022. When he went back to work on Monday 03-07-2022 he was told as soon as he walked through the door from Mike he didn't need to wear his O'Reilly's shirt anymore because he was fired. My son left O'Reilly's and went home with his tail tucked between his legs in disappointed because he was fired and didn't know what to tell his parents. Then on Wednesday they called him to come back to work and my son said, why come back to work when you fired me. Oh come back to work anyway. My son went back and clocked in to go to work and then Mark, the other manager with his big "EGO" said to clock out because you are fired. The manager Mark with this big "EGO" that didn't firer my son the first time made him waste time, money, & gas to go there, to get fired again to satisfy his "EGO" issues. I will post this on social media for no one to ever work for O'Reilly's because how they are treated by the managers with this big "EGO'S" and hope your company get's boycotted. I'm very disappointed in O'Reilly's and never will shop there again. "SAC"
Assaulted by store manager
I was in the store I go to once or twice a day by my house and have spent thousands and thousands of dollars there, knew all the employees especially the manager on a first name basis. I tried to use my debit card to purchase 2 truck batteries and it declined due to an issue between my bank and recent deposit from paypal which resulted in my account being frozen for several days. Tom saw it happen and told me I could just go ahead and take the batteries and the part I needed (valve cover gasket) and come back to him and pay for it later, I asked him if he was sure about that and he said yes I trust you! Then over the next few hours my truck broke down and ended up getting towed to a shop where it sat waiting to be worked on for the next 3 weeks. The day following it being towed I had a family member get admitted to the hospital, account was still disputing with paypal and still wasn't able to pay for the batteries and I had no way to return them since my truck was in the shop getting worked on. Following that hospital visit came another hospital visit again from my wifes immediate family, first her grandmother and then her father now both in the hospital and trouble breathing and heart problems causing poor blood circulation in the father in law. Needless to say he has had heart surgery many times and this is a very scary thing not knowing if he will be able to make it through it so its very stressful and also still waiting on the bank. He called me twice throughout a period of 1 week asking about the payment and I explained and he said "ok No Problem" and then hung up the phone, I assured him as soon as its ready I will be there to make the payment. Well He instead hands out my address and name, vehicle type and gives it to 2 men I don't know and has them come to my house to threaten and intimidate me about not having paid for the batteries yet and the only people that even knew of our arrangement was myself and the store manager so the gentleman came to my house twice each time taking turns knocking while the other on the phone confirming the address number, my name, and vehicle description to the person on the other end of the phone which I'm to assume was the manager himself. He sent these two up to my house and threaten and who knows what really was intended there but it worked and he made me extremely fearful of my family and vehicles and my home now have been targeted by strangers trying to harass me and my family about the batteries so I got the truck back the day the guys came to my front door (have them both on my video security footage without audio) and I still had issues at the bank and just decided I would just take the batteries back to oreillys and just end the harassment by returning the batteries which were never installed but had been sitting in my truck. The guys were obviously sent to my home to arouse some sort of response to get me down to the oreillys store where I was pegged as a piece of [censored] thief, and called a loser and piece of garbage and all the words yelled at me inside the store the moment I walked in the store. It was in front of customers and employees and I can only imagine what they were all thinking, I told tom after I set the batteries on the counter that I didn't appreciate him giving strangers my address and sending them to my home to threaten me for the batteries and he yells at me that I have no proof he did that and reminded me I was being filmed in the store and I couldn't do anything. He again calls me a thief and a loser and accused me of stealing the batteries and I had turned and walked towards the door in an attempt to leave but he is walking real fast behind the counter to catch me before I exit the store and I noticed he had his hand on something on his belt which didn't know what at the time but as I have now been put in a state of confusion being told I stole the batteries and now i'm suddenly a piece of [censored] and why the manager was racing towards me when I was just trying to leave the situation but doing what I felt was right and just returning the batteries and I make it out of the store and seconds behind me was the manager picking up the pace and by the time I get to my truck he is right behind me still yelling and cussing saying since I [censored]ed him now he is gonna [censored] me, and also states he is going to whoop my [censored] and that I have no idea who he is so I was in fear not knowing what he was getting ready to do and he was so close to me at my truck door that I turned and pushed him away from in self defense and he takes the thing off his belt and unloads an entire can of the worst pepper spray that orileys has directly into my eyes at point blank range and at that point I became disoriented and he laughed and walks back inside leaving me now helpless, with no regard to my safety or anyone else as long as he got to assault me in front of all these people. I have no choice but to yell for someone to help me and couldn't even make it back to my truck and I was only 3 ft away but had no idea which way it was since I was burning in my eyes and all over my face I couldn't make the pain from the spray any better it just engulfed my whole face, shoulders, eyes mouth and nose to the point where I couldn't breathe barely. A gentleman heard me yell from help and came over and I told him what happened and that I needed to call my wife and have her come get me and ill have to leave my truck and all my tools wide open in oreilys parking lot because I didn't have the means to even get it back home. The stranger put his phone on speaker phone and I gave him the number and I called my wife and yelled to her what just happened (have the conversation recorded as well) and she came down and picked me up, before she brought me to the house she stuck her head inside the store and told tom that he has not heard the last from us and he immediately yells to her that she was on camera and couldn't do anything 2 times! She brought me home and then brought her brother back with her to pick up my truck and get it home while I lay in excruciating pain at home and it stayed that intense for the next 6 hours before slowly starting to subside. This was all very out of character for me, I'm not a thief, I pay for and work for everything I own and don't take handouts and yet the manager offers me a solution and I think he really is there to help, me but things got crazy and I couldn't make it back for a short period of time he takes the matters into his own hands and sends his goons to my personal home and apparently take care of business matters for hime since he was on the clock as the manager at the store. He sparks a reaction by these guys I don't know who came over to attempt to kick my [censored] im sure and he knew it would get me to the store which it did and he already planned on me coming which is why he come to find out later by the cops he was wearing a body cam (not issued by oreillys) and had his hand on the pepper spray from the moment I got to the store he intended on using it on me even though I chose to limit the confrontation as much as I could let myself do and attempted to leave pretty peacefully and even turned and walked out of the store with minimal reaction and he wouldn't accept that and had to instigate it further just so he could try and justify the use of the weapon (pepper spray) because he was going to use it on me no matter what that day which is why he wore the camera he brought from home, put the pepper spray on his belt and had his hand on it even as I came peacefully to the counter in the store even with him calling me the horrible names and saying the horrible things to me as I walked up to return the batteries and be done with the whole thing. I plan on pursuing this to the fullest extent because of his negligence and reckless mentality and the fact that he is actually out there teaching oreillys employees this is the way to conduct business... thats scary
Desired outcome: Compensation, employees trained to better understand their privacy policies, the manager fired
