I ordered 2 box fans and was charged for two. Overstock shipped 1 fan but the label on the box indicated 2 fans! Contacted overstock customer service who blamed ups, the shipper and alden promised to ship the missing fan immediately. After 2 weeks and hearing nothing regarding shipping of the replacement fan, I called overstock.com customer service and was told by jason that they were investigating the incident. A company as big as overstock.com is worried about a missing $33 fan! My advice, stick with amazon and stay away from these fly by night discounters!
Used products sold as new; horrible customer service
Ordered an office chair and folding table from Overstock. Products listed as new. What I received was not new. Repackaged, mismatched packing material, loose parts, scratches (minor but enough to tell me the products I purchased are not new). One of the items was advertised as a table set (table and chairs) with pictures to match. Only table arrived. I tried to leave a review. It was never published and the table immediately went out of stock. This experience was enough for me to attempt to close my Overstock account. I would no longer purchase from a company that relies on scamming to sell their products. As of today (9/7/2020) I am still not able to close my account. I made 16 requests, I filled the forms they provide, I filed a BBB complaint. Overstock refuses to deactivate account. Multiple reasons were provided: 1. Cannot deactivate due to tax purposes. That is a lie. All major retailers offer account deactivation while retaining backoffice information for tax purposes. 2. Privacy reasons. Original request made while logged in account, all subsequent requests made from the email registered to account. I was unable to receive a response from Customer Service as for the nature of the privacy issues that prevent Overstock to remove a customer account made by the customer themselves. 3. A customer service representative advised (twice) to enter fake information in my account and fake email address to stop email spam. That is a violation of Overstock's TOC. When creating an account, the customer certifies all information is correct and legal. By entering fake information, the customer forfeits their right for legal action against Overstock by violating their TOC. The customer is not informed of that fact. A clever way to prevent dissatisfied customers to seek legal action.
If you have been advised to violate your own rights unknowingly, please file the appropriate complaints with BBB and FTC. Do not purchase from Overstock!
Cannot give me a shipping date on a past promised delivery date
Specifically purchased 2 framed pictures for 1-2 day delivery.
I tried the online chat for shipping info. I waited and waited with no response and was transferred (to another country). Meanwhile, while chatting, I called Overstock to inquire about shipping tracking for the order. OS said it would ship the day before it was to be delivered.
I called OS the day before it was to be delivered to inquire about the tracking info. OS said to call back if I didn't get the order.
Called OS today inquired about the delivery and was put on hold then disconnected. No one called back after they asked for my phone number. I went online and cancelled the order. Then called back to confirm the cancellation. OS said I had to wait 1-2 days and they would notify me. I informed OS no one had contacted me at any point, or returned disconnected calls. What made Overstock think I would believe this. Then I was put on an indefinite hold, so I hung up and am writing this complaint.
I want the order cancelled and my refund back to my account! Can you bill something that has not shipped?
Order #[protected] liam swivel chairs
I placed the above order for the Brown/Ceramic Gray Swivel Chairs which showed "in stock." When I received the order, I received ONLY 2 chairs and they were "Dark Brown" - not the items I ordered.
I called Customer Service and was told that the items I ordered were now out of stock and that they could not tell me when, if ever, they would be in stock. I asked to speak to a manager since the wrong items were sent to me and I was given the option of a full credit upon return of my items. I was not satisfieid with this since the mistake was on Overstocks part and I related this to Bobby M (Supervisor?) who said he would contact the supplier and get back to me. I was asked to take a picture of what I actually received. I had to remove parts of the chair from the box and take a picture, which I did immediately and sent to Bobby M. I never heard anything back from him, but received an email from Overstock stating that there was a missing ticket for this item. I did not know why I received this or what I was to do ab out this, so I emailed Bobby M. again with No Response Back from him from that point on. I received he 2nd shipment of the remaining (wrong color) chairs. I called Customer Service again and told them I needed resolution. I was now speaking with Ben. He assured me that I would get satisfaction before we hung up phone. After communicating my frustration with this entire matter, he said he would give me a Full Refund and that I could keep the chairs. This offer seemed more than generous, so I asked him to repeat the offer of resolution, and he repeated Full Refund and keep the chairs. I thanked him and hung up. Given that information, I proceeded to change my patio by ordering a lighter rug to go with the darker chairs (which I really did not want, but was accepting of this, given all the aggravation). I then receive an email from Overstock indication the RMA info to begin my return of the chairs. I again call Overstock and talk to another rep who says this is your policy. I explained about Ben's offer and she said there was no one there with that name. Oddly Ben knew about my situation and what I had ordered when I called overstock. Not sure if reps use their actual name and no one gives you a last name. Go figure! Since my speaking with Ben and thinking I had resolution, I took a full day to assemble 4 chairs at 72 years old and then find out that they are now offering 20% off my order, not Full Refund and keep the furniture. My last call, today to Overstock was today, July 18th and I asked for another supervisor and was told the supervisor was on another call and would call me within the hour. Guess what? No call.
I never get question that pertains to my problem
When tracking order it was sent to my name not daughters had to send to mainland billed my credit card she had not received it it should be in her name if you cant ship to me when I shop says free shiping when I decide what I want say dont ship hawaii I sdont want to shop from you anymore its too much time no place to just contact not right questions asked
Online purchase
Overstock has failed to reimbursed $570.28 after I've cancelled the order withing a 12 hours frame of an online purchase of a mattress. The order was made on June 19, 2020, and since that day I have been calling daily requesting the cancellation and until today June 30, 2020. Everyday when I call their 1-800 number I need to repeat myself all over again a...
Read full review of Overstock.comOverstock making it impossible to return item
I wanted to return an item. However, the item is not listed in my account for me to "simply" return it. I have been dropped several times in calls and only get in an automated loop anyways and I have been "texting" customer care for over an hour with extreme lag times from the person on the other side, only able to connect once (out of five) times to chat - which she closed the chat on me. This is ridiculous.
Business practices
Once you open an account with Overstock.com they sell your information. I have now had 4 companies spam me with messages because Overstock sold my information. They are:
CaseSecrets.com
KrasivaSoaps.com
HealthProtective.com
Rejuvenation.com
I have contacted Overstock.com repeatedly and requested to stop this and remove my email from any lists and to this day they are still selling my information. Because of this, I will never purchase from them again. This is unacceptable, unprofessional, and unethical business behavior.
Buyers Beware. Your information will be sold.

I was firste told it had already shipped, I told them I didnt believe it, then they said a label had been made and it hadnt shipped. A billion dollar comapany and they cant cancel order. They lied to me more than once and I told them i would not pay for and will refuse the order. I have spent $1000 of dollars and this it how they reapy a ghood customer. Overstock's "platinum protection plan"
On October 4th, I contacted Overstock.com after the bottom of a futon frame that I had purchased on June 12, 2015 (order number [protected]) earlier broke. The break was clearly due to faulty manufacturing, as the wood was pieced together with insufficient adhesive (see attached photo). Fortunately, or so I thought, I had purchased their "platinum protection plan" which was supposed to cover "accidental damage" for five years. Only it turns out that they actually contract that out with another company, Guardsman. So, I sent images to Guardsman (Request #[protected]) and they took several weeks to send a repairman. When he finally came, he said that he could not repair it without replacing the part, and that they would need to contact Overstock for it, adding "if they don't have it then they should replace the futon under the terms of the policy." Then weeks later, Guardsman informed me that my policy was for "repair only" and since Overstock was unable to supply the part, they simply sent me a check reimbursing me for the "platinum protection plan"... only I never agreed to this "resolution" and I refuse to cash it. The term of the policy, they said was "repair only" but in fact it says "repair or replace". It is clear that neither company was committed to honoring their supposed "platinum coverage" plan. To top it off, it took them three whole months for this farcial customer service experience to be "resolved" when all they did was refuse to honor the coverage that I had paid for(!) This experience was beyond pathetic, a huge waste of my time and money. Overstock has not offered me any form of compensation for this horrible customer service experience. I will never purchase anything from them ever again in my life.
I purchased an insurance plan they offered to cover the damage which they didn't honor. Is that clear enough for you?
Sure glad I found this site. I see Overstock is everything I thought. Sounds like they do not care about customers. Wayfair may be better.
Extortion tactics and harassment
I have been harrassed by the billing department for some time now.
They were suppose to draw funds from my checking account while I was on a payment plan then stopped drawing funds near the end of the bill and are now harrassing me for the last part of that bill and the incurred late fees they orchestrated.
It is absolute extortion and I will not be paying it.
Today they somehow got my boyfriend's phone number and are now harrassing him.
I have been a loyal patron and have purchased many things here and paid far beyond what these items cost and I will never order anything from Overstock ever again.
I'll also be filing a formal complaint with the BBB.
Cancelled order but was still charged
I placed an order on june 16th for a fireplace book case. The site said 4-7 week till delivery. On june 19th I received the credit card bill for product I did not yet have.
On july 17th I cancelled this order after the 2 credit bill arrived.
The product never arrived the order was cancelled, but overstock credit card keeps charging me for product I do not have. The tracking provided does not show a signature for verification of delivery to my address and they claim product shipped the next day. It did not I stay at home so I know if the product would have been delivered. The order is cancelled, you need to notify your credit card company to apply credit to my account for this whole situation.
Bait and switch with email coupon
I found a product on overstock.com. A banner offers me a 14% off coupon if I give them my email. I look at the details and it says that the coupon can't be combined with other offers. But that's ok, because this item doesn't show any discount. The only savings are compared to "at other retailers".
I go through the steps to get the coupon, go back to the product, and the coupon looks like it's applied, but it's only for 4%, not 14%.
I open support chat and the person there says that there is a 10% off already, and they can't be combined. But where was the 10% promotion on the original page? After some back and forth, it turns out the only way to see what "promotions" are on a product is to put it in your cart, and see how the price was generated.
This seems like a classic bait and switch. They advertise a price, and a coupon. The coupon doesn't completely apply because of information found only after much more digging.
Unethical behavior, lies, unauthorized charges fraudulently represent their rewards.
On August 31 I tried to use my 19$ rewards, they did not let me use it. On September 1 they said that they will charge my account with the membership fee. I replied multiple times and told them not to. On September 2 they charged me the membership fee. On September 3 the rewards still would not be available ($ 19). I contacted them, but they refused to give me a refund for the $ 19 but finally cancelled their fraudulent charge. However, I had to contact them again in order to get my $ 19 back. Later on September 3, magically it showed I had $ 99 rewards, yet I have not made any purchases. In order to get the $ 99 I should then sign up again. You get the idea the scam they are pulling on costumers. They are lying with their numbers and refuse to cancel orders, try to charge you for shipping even though their items are different than described and defective! They also charged me $ 200 for shipping even though their items were defective.
Wrong chairs shipped - no offer for discount or consideration for their error
After waiting 2 weeks for the 2 orders of 2 sets of charis (4 chairs total) the 2 orders finally arrived... only the order is wrong, 2 different sets of chairs were shipped. We thought we would just keep and use the wrong chairs even though they don't match the ones we ordered, unfortunately they are counter height so they will not fit under the kitchen table. I contacted customer service expecting they would ship the correct chair but they insist that we have to take the incorrect chairs apart and box them up for return to Overstock. A reasonable expectation would have been to offer to ship the correct chairs to me, own up to the shipping mistake, and let me dispose of the incorrect charis as I see fit but NOT to expect me to box them back up for return.

Outdoor patio set
I ordered an outdoor patio set. It took almost a month to come in and when it came in it was broken in multiple places. Two of the table legs are broken and it sits completely uneven. The one leg on the patio sofa is also broken off. Under the one patio sofa the support bar is bent. I sent them an email and have yet to hear back. I would like a refund or a new set. I am not sending this back as it is huge! Very annoyed...
Cancel item (queen mattress)
When I bought the queen mattress set last monday (11/21/2018) at 8 pm, and next day I recieved an email saying it will take 6 weeks to arrive, when in your website the product I choose said 3 to 6 bussiness day so you are laying in the dates for delivery, there are mattress that says 1 to 4 weeks I atach a screenshoot about that, but mine says 3 to 6 days, next say I try to cancell and I call and you send me an email saying is not possible, it had been just 1 day, from the purchase. I want to cancel the order now.

Order # [protected] two picture frames
I ordered these two frames for pictures of my grand children for both my daughter in law and myself. One frame was perfect and pictures went in smoothly. The second frame (which was mine) clips broke off back and I now have two of the picutres scotch taped in them. I called to complain and the girls ask me what I wanted and I said just a replacement. Then she kept saying it was a shipping problem. It was not it was perfectly packed in a double box. This is for the manufacturer. Then she wanted someone to come and inspect the frame. Wtf! Then she said I had to return it. I do not have the boxes it came in as I did not expect to have a problem. I submitted pictures to her and everything. First of all she is a [censored] and should be sweeping floors. Secondly look at the size of the frame and tell me how I am suppose to find a box for that. I am so disappointed I would up telling her to forget it but I will probably go to wayfair after this. It is a shame as I have liked overstock. But not the way I was treated. Ps go to her and get pictures I am done!
What's the spam?
Used online application for USPS and soon after strarted getting my email dumped on with their annoying spam. I have to say that's why I got rid of my roadrunner email and went to Yahoo but it doesn't take long until the spam starts to trickle in. Go away Overstock please! I unsubscribed and hate getting your junk ads! Shame on you USPS for setting me up with your trash bloatware when your tied on with the US government!
