Pangea Real Estate They got all of those young people working as customer service representatives

I called twice to talk too somebody because the website wouldn’t let me go to the next step 08/05/2023 and one of the girls name was IKEA and she was rude and asked me how much do I make a month before taxes and snuck and put $81 as my monthly income and told me that my income is too low to rent from Pangea and opened her mouth to tell me that I couldn’t afford the unit because I need to make 3 times the rent when I make 3 times the rent! I asked to speak with a manager or a supervisor and she repeatedly over talked me being nasty and hung up on me. I immediately called back and spoke to someone by the name of Ashley and she proceeded to laugh and refused to help as well. They have all of those young people working in their offices that’s only helping they friends get approved for apartments/townhomes. Then 4 months ago I was approved for a townhome and when I called to ask when can I come pick up the keys they gave the townhome away saying it’s first come first serve. You people are very unprofessional!

Pangea Real Estate Steer away from this Real Estate Agency

Steer away from this Real Estate Agency. They are so full of it. I had a viewing for a rental unit on 3 occasions and on all three occasions, I received a call the day before and most recently today stating that my viewing was cancelled because there was a lease signing on that particular unit. I also received call telling me that an application fee wasn't paid for my fiancee on a unit that was already taken. They tell you that all of the units are on a first come first serve basis in order to cover the fact that they are still accepting application fees on unavailable units. The unit that I recently applied for supposedly became available late last week and wasn't ready for a viewing. I called Pangea on Friday to see when the unit would be available and was given a date of today at 1:00 pm for a showing. At 10:30 am. I received a call stating that the viewing was cancelled due a LEASE SIGNING on the unit. I laughed and hung up the phone. I've made up my mind that this is not the place for me to continually seek my housing needs. It appears from the below complaints that Pangea Real Estate are slum lords and is nothing more than con artists adding to the business' bottom line by collecting the application fees under the guise of your application fee is good for 60 days.

Too bad you can't give zero stars. I've lived in Pangea Hills got almost four years. Constantly have water shut offs. Not a huge deal with earning, but there has been several occasions without warning. Maintenance keeps shutting our power off tonight. Only building. We're had no power issues, until they shut it off. It's 30 degrees out and cold. My food that I just spent over $100 on is starting to defrost. The maintenance guy does not speak English well enough to communicate with me. There was absolutely no warning to any work being done and it's been going on for almost four or five hours. What if someone has a medical condition requiring power? My neighbor is diabetic and said she can't even see to check her sugar and take insulin. This is ridiculous! No point trying to ask the guy anything, he can't communicate fluently in English. Can't call anyone office closed till Monday morning. It's Saturday night. Also, I've complained about posting over and over to the office. It's a minimum of five cars parked in our lot on a regular basis without a parking sticker. Some times up to 10. Mind you there same maybe 21 parking spots outside my building. They have even put tow stickers on my car with a parking sticker while 3 not sticker cars were parked at the same time. They say abandon car or inoperable. I have 4 cars, I can't drive them all every day! This place is ridiculous. Constantly battle mice, ants and roaches! The neighbors upstairs flood my apartment several times. The kitchen ceiling is bulged with water damage and a crack that had mushrooms growing out of it. They changed the light fixture and filled in the crack and called it good. Smh. It took over two years to get a working bathroom fan. There's mildew in the bathroom from not having a fan for so long. Totally over this place. They want their rent on time, but can't do anything else on time or right. They are greedy, unprofessional and inconsiderate!?

They stole from me, and now have me on a run around to get my money back. They told me after signing my lease I could move in the next day. FALSE. The communication is completely a no go. I have spoken to over 10 employees at the apartment complex and everyone has the same story! NO ONE can tell me when I should be expecting my refund. I have talked to 4 different managers and they could not help me get my security deposit back. It's like I am stuck in limbo! I talked to people in customer service after the main office didn't know who to transfer me to, and she tells me oh you sound like you're from out of town! WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE I JUST WANT MY MONEY... I have called my lawyers because at this point my emotional distress levels are rising and I cannot afford to stress any longer. DO NOT APPLY WITH THEM EVEN IF IT'S YOUR LAST RESORT. The fact that they make me give them one star is absurd! You all do not deserve to be in business!

Pangea Real Estate I've had the most difficult time with this company regarding their practices for renting apartments

I've had the most difficult time with this company regarding their practices for renting apartments. Once I submitted all of the required documentation for renting an apartment with them, I was then advised that the next step would be to view the unit via video. The first appointment was canceled by the *** 1 day before the scheduled appointment, citing that she had an emergency. When I contacted Pangea, I was told that the apartment I wanted was taken. The 2nd video conference I had scheduled for another apartment, the *** didn't even bother to attend, during which I waited for an hour. There was no email or telephone follow-up. I was then told by Pangea that the 2ND apartment I applied for was also taken. At this point, I don't feel secure in renting from them because there is an obvious lack of professionalism and a *** disconnect with their potential client base. I understand that the apartments are given on a first come, first serve basis. However, what is the point of having potential residents apply for an apartment that has already had a lease signing on it? This is very frustrating and time-consuming. They have very nice apartments, but I no longer feel secure or confident in renting from them because they appear not to show any respect or consideration for customers. "

My family applied for a apartment with Pangea. We we're told there was no waitlist for a 4 bedroom apartment. We were told it would be easier to file our application together so we did this October 26. We paid $75 for our joint application. Submitted our check stubs, bank statements and ids. We contacted Pangea to confirm and were told it would take 3 to 4 business days. But then we received a email that told us to fill out our own application separately. So we did. But then they wanted to charge us an additional $25 each for the application. We called and we're told to just submit the documents and wait 3 to 4 days. So we did. We called again and were told our paperwork is still processing but our backgrounds cleared. We waited the following week of November first and was told the apartment was taken and they would help us find another one even though it's first come first serve. But then the person stated that they didn't have our paperwork. They said submit our documents again. We submitted again.A few days later my sister received a call back stating they needed additional bank statements sent via email and to also send pictures of our social security cards. We requested an in person appointment because sending a social over email is not safe. The representative said that their offices are closed and that none was available. But then the person said only tenants signing a lease can come in. My sister relayed the message to me and I contacted them back. And was told they had lost our paperwork again. So once again on November 10th during the call, I gave the original date (Oct. 26) we filed and then the person stated they only had half of our documents and that the other applications were closed and they can't access them anymore, because that apartment is gone. The representative said to send in updated bank statements showing deposits only and it should clear up the misunderstanding to the Pangea approvals department email. We did that but now today 11/15 I was told they still don't have our paperwork and to type in our social security number over email plus include all bank statements with deposits and our transaction histories. I'm requesting a full refund inlue of $75. No one should ever go through this. It completely unacceptable. We only wanted to find an apartment for our family and have instead been given the run around. Our paperwork is constantly being lost.

This has been the worse experience trying to move into my first apartment. Everything was fine until its time to move in. Apparently the building I am suppose to move in is newly rehabbed. I move in on the first and I have been contacting Pangea to get my meters numbers to switch my lights and gas over. However, nobody has gotten back to me and they said I must switch them over before I get my keys. Pangea is really unprofessional. They don't care about their tenants. They knew I had to be move in by the first and it does not look like its going to happen. Very rude customer services employees and they don't know what they are doing at all.

They are the worst company to rent with. You have to luck up to get a decent apartment. If I could leave 0 stars I would. The managers will literally argue with you about a situation rather than help you and once you have an altercation with a property manager or zone leader, they stop answering and responding to you. They are very unprofessional and rude. Ive done 2 emergency moves due to a mold issue in 2 separate apartments. Avoid rental with them if possible

Pangea Real Estate Im very disappointed/dissatisfied with the upkeep of the townhome Im in

Im very disappointed/dissatisfied with the upkeep of the townhome Im in. When it comes to issue such as no working *** or heat that should be a immediate Emergency. To rodents, children damaging the property, to standing on people cars, no snow removal in the winter, to tenant parking/pass. I had a hard fall this winter on my step due to lack of snow removal. I saw many tenants removing snow from the property even a senior that took a fall.Im not sure whats going on with maintenance/management but they clearly dont know what to do. Ive been without *** for weeks now, numerous request, texting property manager and no respond. This has been a issue since [protected] but I did give them the benefit of the doubt because we were new tenant then. I do like the place but now its June and clearly nothing has change. Maintenance used to be on top of things. As I read the reviews from another website they said how quick the respond from management & maintenance, I was shocked because these reviews are recent weeks to a year. Stop asking tenants to give a review and months to years later you dont stick to your word. They sure will text for rent payments. Instead, text/call to see if the tenants work orders went well or check on tenants and seniors. Ride around the property and see what is lacking. This what brings on good reviews of this company and staff, not asking tenants to give you a review.GET TO KNOW YOUR TENANTS!

I was transferred to another unit in a different building, but in the same area due to a fire in the unit directly above me. While going behind the cleaning and maintenance crew, I was cleaning out my refrigerator and found a dead bug within the rubber portion of the refrigerator. I then looked in the stove to see if anything needed to be done, and sure enough I found mouse droppings in the broiler part of the stove. I brought the issues to my property manager and nothing was cleaned. The bug is still sitting in my refrigerator and the mouse p*** is still in the broiler of the stove. I am highly disappointed and dissatisfied with the lack of cleaning and work done.

I was informed that everything was in order and that I would be assigned an apartment and signing a lease on Friday, which is tomorrow. This was to take place at Pangea Riverside, which I learned operates out of the Pangea Groves office from the residents at Pangea Riverside. However, earlier today, I discovered I was denied when I called their office. The representative on the phone could not explain why and informed me that my deposit would not be refunded. This is confusing and unfair, as they had assured me of an apartment, leading me to submit a 30-day notice to my previous landlord and move out as required. Now, I find myself without a home, moving from place to place with my children because of Pangea Riverside's misleading promises.

It is baffling to me that I was approved at another Pangea location, Pangea Prairies, and was told I could transfer my approved application and $776 deposit to another Pangea property without any further action since I was already approved and met the income requirements, which are 2.5 times the rent. I have no criminal record or evictions, and while my credit is not excellent, it is not so poor as to warrant a denial. Moreover, I had to wait an excessive amount of time only to be denied and was told it would take 30 days to receive a denial email, which is unreasonable.

The lack of communication and professionalism is frustrating. I was assured an apartment and a lease signing this Friday, and now I am extremely upset because they were not truthful. It is unjust; I have done everything required of me, including submitting all the documents requested by the staff. This situation is distressing and indicative of a broader issue in the USA where it seems difficult for some people to find housing.

I am in desperate need of assistance as I am now homeless and it is not fair. I should not be in this predicament. I have observed that many apartments are readily given to individuals with questionable documentation, and yet they face no obstacles. I demand either the apartment I was promised or the return of my $776 deposit, which could be used to cover hotel expenses or to compensate someone for sheltering me and my children since Pangea Riverside failed to fulfill their promise of providing me with an apartment.

Steer away from this Real Estate Agency. They are so full of it. We've had a terrible time applying for rental units with this agency. Pangea Fields Apartments are some of the worst apartments I've stayed in. I was complained on for my dog leaving droppings, by the property manager. She assumed we didn't pick up after our pet, so she violated our lease. I go up to the office today to speak more on the situation of others breaking lease violations, such as dogs running loose, people banging on doors late, blasting music, smoking cigarettes, etc. She didn't allow me to speak. She kept asking, 'Do you have proof? Apartment numbers? How do you know I haven't left them notes?' They always fail to call me back. I left a 24/7 maintenance request and it went to voicemail. Nobody has come to check out my maintenance issue... I told them I feel as if there might be mice in the ceiling. Saw a rodent in my apartment before. Assumed we didn't carry pet waste bags, as we pulled them out to show her... she tells us to have proof and video of people breaking the lease. Says she walks her property, but clearly doesn't because there's always trash in the parking lot. Very unsanitary and unsatisfied living here.

They said 3 units (2 BR) were opening up in September. Two weeks later it is 1 unit (1 BR). Everyone I talked to on the phone says the same thing: I do apologize for the inconvenience sir. I know how frustrating looking for an apartment can be. This is the second time I am going through this nonsense. I paid and lost $50 the first time (for two adults). I had told them I was looking for a town home in Park Forest, even did the virtual tour. They told me later I applied for a rental on 68th street and the Park Forest unit was only "tentative". Even though I was approved, if and when a unit opens in Park Forest they say it is first come first serve. But they sure take the application fee. What a bad business model and no explanation as to why a unit is supposedly opening up and then doesn't. Simply: we don't know until we see it posted. Worst experience By Far for myself as a renter.

Pangea Real Estate To whom it may concern, I would like to voice a concern about pangea application process

To whom it may concern, I would like to voice a concern about pangea application process. Becuse pangea is a real estate company I thought it would be an easy process applying for an apartment with this company. unfortunately, it's been the most difficult process I have dealt with when applying for an apartment. I did the application almost a month ago. I got approved within 24hours. So the next day I called the office to see what the next steps would be. The leasing agent informed me I would have to pick an apartment to look at and set an appointment with one of the leasing agents. So I found the apartment went to go see it with the agent. it was an okay apartment. I called the office to informed them that I wanted to do a lease signing. the lease signing is another processing step. it's like doing your application all over again. while the application is being processed you can't put down a deposit on the apartment you applied for. so it leaves the apartment on the market for other people to apply for the same apartment that you got approved for. be aware if you are working on your crit or even have good credit. each time Pangea runs your application for a new apartment after you have already been approved you take a hit on your credit score for -3 points per apartment application. if I only knew then what I know now I would not have applied for an apartment with this company. I have been waiting for almost a month on an apartment and to be reapproved for. THINK ABOUT APPLYING WITH PANGEA. I would make it my last choice if I could do it again. I lost 6points on my credit score applying with this company after I have already been approved for an apartment. Thank You!

Pangea Real Estate This is absolutely the WORST properties to rent from

This is absolutely the WORST properties to rent from. From the front desk lady in the leasing office to the weak uncredited, unprofessional, lazy, lying property managers they have at the office located at ***. First impressions are everything to me and they left a horrible taste in my mouth. You would think black people would do right by their own people boy was I WRONG. So lets start I inquired about an apartment in March and submitted my application and paid the fee ( EVERYTHING ON MY END WAS AND IS GOOD). I received an email from PANGEA and it was for the lease signing which was the next week. I go to the lease signing and honestly shouldn't have signed. The lady with the big afro wasn't welcoming at all she had an attitude from the moment she buzzed me in. I think she felt that I didn't have everything that I needed but I'm ALWAYS ON POINT! She proceeds to tell me what all I need not making eye contact and really dull. After she finished talking I had everything she asked for. Next she told me I had to come for the keys on 4/20/22 with gas and electrical account numbers since my move in date was 4/22/2022 and if I didn't have that I'd delay my process. I had everything ready by 4/18/2022 to get an call from pangea saying something else. After the call which stated I need to come on 4/22/2022 (even though the 20th was told to me at first) I got an email that was a TEMPLATE email (I have picture proof and this happened more than once) with what was suppose to be the confirmation of my next appointment (4/22 @ 10am) luckily I save stuff in my phone for mistakes like this. When I got back to the office on the day to get my keys I was let in but not serviced immediately. A group of guys were conversing in the back and knew I was up there nobody ever came to see what I wanted I had to wait until the receptionist came from the bathroom. I'll continue in the next review... ZERO STARS though the one is only because they wont allow ZERO

Pangea Real Estate They suck!

They suck! Property Manager acts concerned but does nothing to solve the problem. 1. Tenants in the building blast music (ALL DAY, ALL NIGHT) that can be heard from the 1st - 3rd floor. I made it known to Property manager, she had the nerve to tell me she needs proof that will require me to stand in front of another tenants door and record their loud music! This is a BIG NO for me! Why would I put myself in that type of danger? 2. I made a request for there to be lights placed on the back porch of my building as a safety precaution...A YEAR later, still NOTHING. THEY PICK AND CHOOSE WHAT THEY WANT TO FIX, REPAIR, OR DEAL WITH! On several occasions, the lights in my unit have blown out around 8 pm. I call the automated line, leave a message with the "on-call" maintenance person (who is on call until 11 pm) and no one goes to the fuse box (that is located somewhere in the basement no tenants have access to) until the NEXT morning. 3. The front entrance lock to the courtyard has been picked, damaged and broken out at least 7 times in a 4 month span. I am not exaggerating. Today I arrived to see that the lock has been "repaired" but someone has tampered with it so it wont lock. NOT SAFE AT ALL! 4. Maintenance shows up one random day to "spray for pest". Luckily I was home to allow it; the young man must have just started because he was spraying all over the place: my bath mats, all over appliances, the walls instead of baseboards. It was a sloppy job. Then the next day the Property Manager, I use that term loosely, comes and pastes notices of "intent to enter" for pest control...SERIOUSLY? GET ON ONE ACCORD PANGEA! 5. Until now, I thought this was a decent building because people were quiet and mind their own business...IT IS BECOMING A GHETTO AND UNKEMPT REVOLVING PLACE where tenants have guests who roam the halls all night, strangers loiter in halls and fall asleep in front of other tenants doors. RIDICULOUSNESS! I imagine they (PANGEA AND ITS AGENTS) treat people based on rental amount AND neighborhood...MORE rent, MORE attention. LESS rent, POOR treatment! I advise people to build credit, move to a place you deserve and never look back!

Pangea Real Estate The new manager in the office of Pangea Lakes Apartment at 13300 S

The new manager in the office of Pangea Lakes Apartment at 13300 S. Indiana does not know how to make a judgment call. Some situations that come up should be judge on that individual situation. There is always an exception to a rule but that's if you know how to deal with people with unusual circumstances. You cannot tell me that you can't make an exception. My problem is with parking. I had a appointment to go in the office on 8/12 @ 10:00 to get a parking permit. My personal car went into the shop a day before to be repaired .So I have a rental car for at least a week maybe more. I asked for a parking permit for the rental car. I was told they no longer give out multiple day parking permits only a day permit that expire at 11:59 pm the same day. I don't know when this new rule went into affect because I was not told about the change. She told me to go to the repair shop and get my parking permit that is attached to my windshield out my personal car and put it in the rental now had I known in advance about the parking permit new rule than maybe I could have done that. When I first moved in a year ago I was told not to remove the parking permit now I can remove the parking permit. I asked so what do I do about my rental car. I can not park in the lot or it will be towed. So I asked what do I have to do. I have to park my car on the street (Indiana Ave) and walk around to my apartment on Michigan Ave. I told them I have a bad knee which is none of their business. Do you think they cared. I was told its nothing they can do. I was asked do I have any medical proof that I have a bad knee. What does that matter if there is nothing you can do. REALLY! I pay rent every month and I'm not allowed to park my rental car in the parking lot. I'm liable for any and everything that happens to the rental car. Me parking on the street where it is no way possible for me to keep my eyes on it is ridiculous. This is unacceptable. Whoever thinks about moving to these apartments better think twice cause they will change things without giving you proper notice. They can tape all kind of junk mail to your door but the things that are important is a guessing game. Be aware of who and where you rent a your apartment.

Pangea Real Estate My family applied for a apartment with Pangea

Pangea Real Estate I was told everything was ok and that I would be given and apartment and signing a lease on Friday which is tomorrow, which Pangea Riverside in *

I was told everything was ok and that I would be given and apartment and signing a lease on Friday which is tomorrow, which Pangea Riverside in ***, *** (which is operating out of Pangea Groves office is what i was told by the residents at Pangea Riverside) but I just found out earlier that I was denied when I called on the phone , a guy name *** told me he doesnt know why and that I wont be getting back my deposit money which doesnt make sense that they can promise you an apartment then take and keep your money , Im low income and need my money I have kids , Im currently homeless and staying place to place because I was promised and apartment and I had put in my 30 day notice with my old landlord and I moved out when I was supposed too, and now Im homeless because Pangea Riverside decided to play games with me and get my hopes up. it dont make sense how I was approved at the other Pangea location ( Pangea Prairies) and told i Can apply my approved application and $776 deposit( and apply the rest of whatever Pangea Riverside asks for to my $776 deposit) to another Pangea location and I wont have to do anything because Im already approved and meet the make 2.5 times the rent , qualifications to rent . I dont have any felonies or evictions, my credit is kind of ok its not good but its not going to get me denied on top of that, I had to wait weeks and weeks and weeks just to find this out that they denied me and was told by the guy *** that it will take them 30 days to send me a denial email, that dont even make sense why would sending out an email take 30 days ? Its just weird and unprofessional I want my money back ! Or they can give me an apartment, I met all of the qualifications to be able to rent I was already approved , I dont know if they decided to deny me because I kept calling and leaving voicemails everyday to see what was going on because no one was calling me back which is unprofessional, I was promised and apartment and to sign a lease on Friday and Im very upset because they lied to me . This just isnt right , I did everything I was supposed to do , I emailed everything over that the lady *** asked me for. This is very sad, this has to stop, apparently its a problem in the USA where people act like they dont want to rent to others. I need help Im homeless now and its not right, I shouldnt even be in this situation at all! I dont understand how all these apartment workers are always so quick to give apartments to all these illegal Hispanic people and knowing most of them have false identifications, and they STILL get everything , its not right or fair! I want an apartment or my money back plain and simple , Im not just about to let anyone keep $776 from me that I could use towards paying more hotel fees or paying someone to let me and my kids stay in there house since Pangea Riverside lied to me about giving me an apartment

Pangea Real Estate Good evening, my name is John Doe, residing at East 72 street, seeking a wheelchair-accessible unit.

Good evening, my name is John Doe. I reside at East 72 street and moved in on August 1, with an agreement for a wheelchair-accessible unit. However, the building management misrepresented the unit's accessibility, as it lacked a back door and I got stuck in the elevator on the first day. Consequently, I had to return to my previous unit. Pangea then promised to accommodate my needs and showed me two other units, one outdated and the other with stairs, neither suitable. Since moving back in August, the elevator has been unreliable, causing me to miss doctor's appointments and struggle with taking my daughters to school. As the sole tenant in a wheelchair, the situation escalated on December 2 when the elevator broke down again. With no response from property management or Pangea after hours, I had to call the fire department for assistance. The experience was terrifying and nearly resulted in a fall due to my anxiety. Pangea has been unhelpful, leaving me in an unsafe environment, especially in emergencies like a fire. I urgently need an advocate to ensure my safety and well-being. Thank you.

This business was deceitful. Nowhere on there site or throughout my application had it mentioned Id have to wait a year to apply for any Pangea Owned Properties. Had I known this I wouldnt have applied and spent $50 on an application fee. Being Pangea owns a vast amount of properties in the *** area its not reasonable to have someone forced to wait a year to reapply. Id like a refund of my application fee because not only was I disrespected via representatives on the phone but I was place on absurdly long golds waiting on information that should be in hand seeing as they dont have the answers to a consumers standard questions.

When I notified my landlord he told me verbatim this is not an emergency and somebody would be out when they could I have his text messages as the proof that he stated this is not and emergency and then he didnt respond again and I have been reaching out to him still with the last time being yesterday. Pangea needs to hold up their end of the bargain if I am expected to pay rent in a place thats possibly causing my health to deteriorate

Pangea Real Estate I rented with the company for about 4 years

I rented with the company for about 4 years. I moved out 9/1/2022 returned keys to property management office drop box 9/5/2022 due to refusal of property manager making an appointment to take their keys back and federal holiday. Upon 9/13/2022 I was charged for allegedly rent for the days after 1st of the month before they logged keys retrieved (not my issue as I followed the protocol they gave me I was out of the unit 9/1 and into my new place with utilities transferred etc. Later I receive a collections notice from a company IQ *** who they sold debt over to who says I owe Pangea for unpaid utilities ie. Sewage charge. Ive never paid any water bill in the years Ive lived there also when I called Pangea 10/18/2022 property manager *** said not only is the claim of owed utilities invalid but that I shouldnt have any balance at all because I terminated the lease and moved out on 9/1. Now as of today 12/9/2022 I cant get any proof of debt from either institution yet I have a collection on my account. CS Rep from Pangea stated they see a balance, but if property manager stated its an error they need to notify them to fix it. Now I cant get in contact to this property manager at all and no other form of solution or someone to talk to to mitigate this issue. I just would like someone with authority in this area from their company to contact me; or info for me to contact them to resolve this as this is an issue on my credit report that I need corrected.

I messaged the maintenance on October 2, 2022 saying that there is mold in my living room floors caused by the leak that happened recently in the kitchen, yet that message was disregarded. I called the office a couple of times to ask if anyone will be coming to fix it, but the office didnt provide any information. I also mentioned to the maintenance and office that I have a toddler who is at risk of getting sick from the mold. Then I messaged maintenance again on October 6, 2022 asking them to come fix the molded floor and the molded cabinets in the kitchen and the opening behind the oven as its shown in the pictures. Someone showed up I believe he is the supervisor he was very nice to come take a look at the floor and immediately said it needs to be changed into carpet the following Monday or Tuesday which is October 10, 2022. I made another message on October 7, 2022 about the kitchen cabinets and gave them the pictures, the maintenance got the message yet I heard nothing from them. Until now no one has showed up to fix either the living room floors or the kitchen cabinets! I called the office numerous of times but no information was given. I sent a message on October 14, 2022 asking when they will be coming to get rid of the mold, I havent heard anything from anyone. I pay my rent monthly on time yet IM LIVING WITH MOLD! Please help resolve my problem ***!

This is a previous landlord. I fulfilled my lease and vacated the unit on 7/31/2022 which was the last day of my lease. I cleaned this apartment completely from ensuring I cleaned all the floors, cleaned the refrigerator and stove, as well as cleaned and disinfected the counter tops, sinks, tub, and toilet. Upon vacating I checked on the tenant portal for about 2 weeks my balance reflected $0 up until the point my login information became inactive. I also completed a change of address request with *** 10 days prior to vacating the unit. I have never received written notification from this owner by mail nor email with a bill for damages or breakdown of the charges. I have no clue what I'm being billed for. Per ILCS 765 710/1 the owner has 30 days to send this bill to me or it can no longer be billed. With me never being sent the bill not only should this item be removed from my credit report the balance should actually be $0 because the deadline of 30 days passed on 8/30/22. I demand this account be removed from my credit and zeroed out as it is an invalid debt.

Currently going through court with Pangea for an eviction. First court date was October 15, 2022. Mice have invaded my apartment so badly that they were on my mattress and eating on top of my fridge. I even found one in my bed dead one time. I started sleeping on a blow up bed to get by. On October 18, 2022, I left due to a family member's passing and I needed to be there. Next court date for me will be November 2, 2022. I come back to my apartment on October 30, 2022, and my locks were changed. I peeped inside and my apartment was completely empty. I contacted the landlord, whom I haven't spoken to since June 15, 2022, and she didn't respond. I then contacted their legal team and was told that I agreed with my property manager that I would leave my apartment on October 19, 2022. Mind you, I'm still going through court and no determination has been made to evacuate my building or anything. I also applied for rental assistance while I waited for my next court appearance. Everything I worked hard for is gone and I have nowhere to stay.

Pangea Real Estate I have been waiting for a refund from this company for my deceased brothers move in fee since June 2022 and I continue to get the run around

I have been waiting for a refund from this company for my deceased brothers move in fee since June 2022 and I continue to get the run around from this company. I am constantly transferred back and forth to multiple people when I call and no one seems to know whats going on. I was issued a refund check back in late June 2022 but Pangeas bank would not honor the check since it was in my deceased brothers name. I contacted the property manager, ***, on several occasions and he never returned my call. August 4, I was finally told to submit a death cert, after several calls and given the run around, and *** still getting the run around and still waiting for the refund. Ive been told they dont have the death cert, then told they do, then told its in the accounting department, then told its in the legal department with no refund date in sight. An, unprofessional manager, named ***, may or may not return my calls, but is offering me no finalization to this refund. I need to finalize my brothers estate and this company is the only hold up. The refund check I was initially issued was for $500.00. Almost every person I have spoken to has been unprofessional, a few have been rude. ***, a supervisor, hung up on me once and when I called back, she was conveniently unavailable. I asked for a manager several times who was above *** and was denied access. I asked for a corporate phone number and was also denied. I do not understand how a company receives an A+ Complaintsboard.com rating with the number of complaints and unprofessional people working there. I need assistance obtaining my brothers refund check.

Good morning, my name is [redacted]. I live in Pangen Real Estate, South Shore location. First of all, Pangen does not care about their tenants. All they care about is their rent being paid. Last Sunday, as my girls and I were getting out of our car, my daughter [redacted] was snatched in front of the building. Unfortunately, my daughter had our house keys in her purse, and that was the only set we had. So, Monday morning, I called the property manager and texted her [redacted] but received no response. I'm also in a wheelchair, so I'm stuck in the house. This happened on the 26th of September. In order to get a new set of keys, the property manager needs to put in an order, but no one is responding to their emails, not even the zone leaders. The only reason I was able to get into the building that particular day was that my oldest daughter was in the unit.

The building I stay in at ***. This building is a TERRIBLE! place to reside in. The pest problem is ridiculous, every time I come home from work there are roaches everywhere! The property manger here is non-existent she should not be allowed to manage a building. There are numerous drug addicts/drunks here. This building needs to be burned to the ground! I would never recommend NO ONE to live here. There are many problems throughout the unit I stay in!

Pangea Real Estate Regarding the adjacent building to 105, the apartment at 107 is owned

Regarding the building next to 105, the apartment building address is 107, owned and operated by Pangea. This problem has been ongoing since September . After purchasing the church, we installed a new roof, which has since required six repairs at $900 each, and a recent $4,000 fix due to leaks. On July 27, 2022, we spent $750 to mend three holes. Tenants let children play on the roof, discard waste, and have thrown objects at passersby. They attempted to barbecue there. Nearby, older cars have been stripped of parts, and the area is misused as a dumping ground. Despite numerous contacts to Pangea via calls, emails, and social media, we've received no response to our complaints. Our church cannot sustain these costs due to Pangea's negligence. We've reached out again for a resolution. Our congregation and True Love members seek assistance to address this matter. Our administrator has made several attempts to engage Pangea without success. For more information and details on resolving this issue, please contact her.

Pangea Real Estate I have rented from Pangea for going on three years now and have never been late or missed a payment

I have rented from Pangea for going on three years now and have never been late or missed a payment. I am aware of the rules and regulations as it pertains to my leasing contract. With that being said, I understand that Pangea is not responsible for any damage or theft that *** happen on their property. However, I left my car door unlocked and someone (I have a pretty good idea of who, but thats not the point) went inside my vehicle and took my parking sticker off my windshield, a ziplock bag of quarters (approximately $8/$10 but again, not the point), and a few other miscellaneous things. Now again, I am aware that Pangea is not responsible for any damage or theft. I called the property manager to #1 report the sticker as stolen because I dont want anyone reaping the benefits off my stolen property, but to also replace the sticker. I was told that theres no way to prove that my sticker was stolen and that its impossible to peel the sticker off the window without it ripping. I know for a fact that this isnt true because I have in fact done it when it was time to renew my sticker. Which, by the way, whenever a new sticker is issued, they write down the number that is on the sticker. Okay, I get it. Pangea is not going to patrol the parking lot in hopes of finding a stolen sticker; thats not part of their job. I understand and take full accountability for leaving my doors unlocked, thats on me. I am even prepared to purchase another sticker, but my issue is why should I have to pay $100 plus $25 a month? Again, I know what is stated in the lease. One parking spot shall be provided to residents as an amenity, for any additional spots residents will be charged $100 plus the additional monthly fee. Im not asking for an additional spot, I just need a replacement sticker, for the same vehicle.

Pangea Real Estate During the month of June, I applied and got approved to move into a apartment rented by Pangea Real Estate

During the month of June, I applied and got approved to move into a apartment rented by Pangea Real Estate. During this process, it became a very stressful time because I was trying to complete this without having to take time off from work. Well, Pangea's employees made this extremely difficult because of their unprofessional and unfriendly attitudes. As I was given a move-in date of 6/9, this did not happen because a Pangea's employee had a family emergency and was not professional enough to pass my account to another co-worker. So, after several phone calls to Pangeas offices, I was able to pay my rent, get the keys and proceed to my new apartment on 6/10. Upon arriving, I discovered many other dilemmas that let me know I made a mistake renting from Pangea's. I had no stove, the toilet would not flush, fire alarms were malfunctioning, outside my backdoor area was dirty, laundry room unkept, hallways stinky and nasty ,entry door to the hallway always slamming closed and the mailboxes are broken and falling off the wall. I was told by Pangeas this place was just renovated! Then 2 days later, I came to find out that I supposedly had bounced a check for my move in fee and first month rent, so I now I can't pay my rent on line for 4 months. I paid with money orders! I've called Pangeas many times over the month of June and I got a lot of run around but they finally did gave me a stove, fixed the toilet and fire alarms on 6/14 several days after I had already moved in, but all the other problems remain. They were sure to send out late rent warnings though, when I did not pay my rent on the 1st of July. I felt that I should not had been made to pay the full amount due to all these inconveniences but I paid it on 7/5/22 on some WIPS rent payment system. Paying this way charges and it takes away even more money from me in these hard economic times and its also penalizing me for something I did not even do. I don't feel good about any of this.

Pangea Real Estate Ive been leasing with Pangea since May

Ive been leasing with Pangea since May. My rent was set to autopay. On July, I payed both July and August rent which is a total of $1,360. That amount became Available on my account July 3rd. I was unaware of autopay being taken out the 2nd of each month which resulted in me being opted out of autopay. To my knowledge, any date before the 5th is not considered late. Since being off autopay, Ive been doing walk in payments starting with the month of September. After Octobers payment was issued, i was told the back office never received my payment for the month of October and again for the month of November. I have all my receipts and documents stating I paid on time before the 5th. This issue has been going on for over A YEAR. I cooperated with the team and gave them all documents they asked for. The last 3months I have received a 5day eviction notice for 2missing payments which I showed proof of. This week on Thursday 1/13/22, Senior property manager *** contacted me stating that the missing payments were from July and August; the last autopay I was able to pay. He stated it was returned to my account but it didnt show in the system until October! So the 5day eviction still stands. I never received a refund to my account. Ive contacted my bank to further investigate the situation. Since then Ive tried to contact my property manager and the Senior property manager but now no one is returning my phone calls, text, or emails. I need more than 5days to resolve this issue and I need documents stating it was returned to my account to better help my bank. It took the company 3months to notice the payments returned. I was never notified nor did I receive them. I didnt even get an apology on behalf of the company or the system they blame. I refuse to be at fault for their negligence and given a time limit to defend myself. Theyve been at fault for over a year yet theyre giving me less than 5days to fix their errors.

On May 6, I called Pangea to get a virtual tour of the apartment I was interested in located at 4901 S Drexel Blvd APT 333. I applied to the apartment with accuracy and completed the application in full along with a $25 dollar application fee. I received a notification from Credit Karma stating there was a hard inquiry from rent grow/beacon. Totally fine! I have poor credit so I asked how important is the credit check to Pangea and customer service representative assured me not to worry because there's other factors that contribute to the decision. Even on their website, under their FAQs, it reads, "credit reporting is a factor of our approval process but specific credit scores are not required." The next day (May 7), I received another hard credit inquiry from Pangea. Why are they checking my credit twice for the same apartment? I already have poor credit so the negligence is unforgivable. On May 8th, I received an email stating they needed more information from me. This is inaccurate because I provided my bank statement for the previous 90 days since I've been on furlough for a month already so I wouldn't have 60 days worth of paycheck stubs because I've been out of work for the past 30 days. So I provided more information which included my unemployment checks. May 9th comes, Pangea calls and said I was approved for the apartment with their second chance program but someone beat me to the lease signing. I decided to apply to another apartment at 801 E Drexel on May 12th. This apartment was the same price so I was positive that I would get an approval for this apartment. Negative! May 13th, the third hard credit inquiry shows up on my report. There was absolutely no reason to check my credit three times within the week as if the information would have change. I applied within the same property management therefore my information should have been on file. The negligence to my credit report and the incompetence of the management overall is despicable.

On September 29th i got off work and was sitting in my car At the back door of my apartment which is in a alley at around 12:30 am my neighbor and his Gf where arguing he was in the 3rd floor window and she was in the alley asking her friend to help her and not leave a few minutes later her boyfriend shot out the window Im assuming at her but it went straight through the top of my car striking me once. Because the cameras on the property dont work the police had no witnesses besides me so the guy wasnt charged and Pangea continued to allow him to live there even after the detective told me the guy was a felon and on parole per Pangea you cannot have a criminal history of felonies which he is but still nothing was done. I told Pangea how I feared for my life and my two small kids life they claimed I could move after I paid rent which I with held due to me being shot I paid the rent then applied for a unit like they told me and they denied me and said I couldnt apply for another transfer for a year. I contacted my property manager and asked why he said I had a eviction from 2019 which was true from Pangea that we came to an agreement to pay and stay I did so and October they let me Transfer to the building I was shot at. Now in 2021 they are telling me that same judgment that I previously paid off and was able to transfer to a new unit with in *** 2021 after being shot on the property and approved to move. The property manager avoided me for weeks so I went to the office and the zone lead said call resident care and get the reason for denial while claiming Pangea policy has changed and thats why a judgement from Pangea that didnt stop me before is stopping me now. Resident care told me there was no reason for denial on file that was a few days before Christmas I told my property manager and he lied and told me the denial was being reversed. Now I have to pay a new move in fee when I didnt last year just a 100 dollars.

Pangea Real Estate On Saturday, January 29th, I walked into my apartment (rented from Pangea Real Estate), to the smell of sewage and to find my toilet and bathtub

On Saturday, January 29th, I walked into my apartment (rented from Pangea Real Estate), to the smell of sewage and to find my toilet and bathtub backed up with sewage water. This was the result of an adjacent unit having a toilet pipe burst. Property management was clearly aware of the situation as there was a carpet cleaning truck on site pumping the water out of the affected units, mine included. On Sunday, January 30th I noticed water starting to seep into the carpet in my bedroom. The carpet cleaning company was back out again that morning and said they would come back again in the evening, and that the problem would be fixed on Monday. The problem persisted through Monday, January 31st. The pipes did not appear to have been fixed, still inches of water in my bathtub, and saturated carpet in my bedroom. At this point, I finally decided to book a hotel room for the next two nights, as the stench and conditions were completely unbearable and uninhabitable. In hindsight, I probably should've stayed elsewhere Saturday and Sunday night as well. On Tuesday, February 2nd, the problem appeared to have been fixed as my toilet and bathtub were clear and clean, and there was dehumidifier and fan in my bedroom attempting to dry the carpet, however the stench was still unbearable and reeked of sewage. With all of that being said, there has been no communication whatsoever from property management regarding a plan of action. After leaving messages Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, I finally received a call back Tuesday at 4 PM. However, was not able to speak with the property manager and was given no concrete information. As of this writing, Wednesday, February 2nd (5:00 PM) I still have not heard from property management. At this point, I believe Pangea Real Estate has been completely negligent in their handling of this situation, in their lack of communication, allowing me to continue to live in a contaminated environment, and making no effort to relocate or compensate.

Pangea Real Estate I moved into an apartment with Pangea Realestate Nov 4, 2022

I moved into an apartment with Pangea Realestate Nov 4, 2022. There are mice and rats running through the walls! Every single last corner in this apartment has a hole in the floor! The holes are so DEEP you can literally fit your hand in them ALSO the base boards are not sealed! I have cut up sponges to try to block the holes as much as possible I asked the manager at the office on *** BEFORE signing my lease if residents complain about roaches and mice and she told me RARELY IF EVER! LIESSSS. Ive been here for a little over a month and Ive been calling for THREE WEEKS no one has showed up to provide a solution and every time I call the office they keep stalling me promising oh someone will be there next week Ive taken time off of work *** lost money to try to be present for pest control. I have not been able to utilize my stove bc when I turn it on this HORRID SMELL comes out. Ive had been eating out which is expensive! There are roaches EVERYWHERE! One got on my child while she was eating! These ppl were very accessible during the leasing process but now that Im actually a resident I cannot get my calls returned or receive a solution to this Major problem! I cannot and will not live like this! The mice/rats running thru the walls are triggering my PTSD (in which Im diagnosed) Im extremely sad and feel that Ive made the worse decision of my life by moving here. Im crying every single night! I want all my money back and for the lease to be terminated or else I will take legal action. I work very hard for my money just like everyone else and I dont deserve to feel like I live in a DIRTY ALLEY! This place does not make me feel at home instead very on edge and completely DISGUSTED! If anyone is reading this PLEASE DONT MOVE HERE! YOU WILL REGRET IT IMMEDIATELY! ITS NO WONDER I WAS RUSHED THRU MY SHOWING! And the property manager was HIGH AS H when I met her reeking of marijuana trying to HIDE IT WITH DARK SUNSHADES.

Pangea Oaks Sep 1& Jan 27-Feb *** $700 monthly I am being harassed, lied to, and suffering penalties without cause from management, and they are enforcing policies that were not told to me upon signing my lease, nor given updating info on policies prior to enforcing.Pangea management has not tried to resolve anything as they are the ones doing it.One, I signed my lease to move on Aug 28, 2021,( a weekend) someone changed my move-in date in the system without my knowledge, so when I went to pick up my keys I was informed I couldn't move in because the tub was just put in. I could only move on Sep 1 at the earliest ( Wed). I had to move in the same day I needed to be out of my prior place. I was not given an inspection, as agreed and signed with management. When I open my door to move my things in my house maintenance had embalming poison currently happening. I have a video Two After many cold nights in my home during the winter months I found a window that could not close, the video of my move-in will show it was open the entire time ( I don't know/ notice) I put in a work order on Jan 17 2022, Noone came to even look at my window until Jan 25th. I work during business hours so management told me two people need to be present when I'm away, Lie *** was by himself and he called and let me know. Yet Management told me someone was with him. The regional manager went in my home by herself without informing me. I was told by her field manager. Jan 31 I tried to pay my rent for February online but the option to do so was disabled. I contact management every day at the end of day 4 COB (Feb 4th) I was told I could no longer pay online. I was told to go to *** and given an account number by the regional manager. I did so and I given was the wrong account # couldnt pay my rent. I had to get a money order and turned in my rent Feb 7th,2022 which was the soonest I could get the cash from my bank. 02/09/22today I have a failure to pay rent notice on my door.

Pangea Real Estate We moved out of our Pangea apt

We moved out of our Pangea apt. (***, ***) & cleaned out our apartment on Saturday Oct 15th, had $0 balance on our account & provided our forwarding address for *** (Pangea local property manager) to send our security deposit within 45 days.On Monday Oct 17th (the last day of our lease), Pangea added two charges ($72.50 Water & $95 Maintenance) to our account & DID NOT NOTIFY US.On Wed Oct 19th, Pangea reported the 2 unannounced charges as "bad debt" & turned it over to collections agency IQ Data. Our 1st notification of any potential of outstanding charges was the letter from the collection agency IQ Data. Pangea has never provided an itemized accounting of the charges for "Maintenance" or explained whether the $95 charge is in excess of our still yet unreturned $450 security deposit or if the itemized maintenance charges are independent of the $450 security deposit & that it will be returned in full after we pay the $95 un-defined charge. We notified IQ Data in writing that we were disputing the charges until we get an itemized bill yet IQ Data calls relentlessly, passes us from person to person, threatens our credit rating and refuses to provide any detail of the Maintenance charges. My last communication, I informed them that the final water bill-back charge of $72.50 made sense and that we mailed a check for that amount but we require an itemized list of "Maintenance Chargeback". Our request from the beginning was simple... send us an itemized bill with what we're being charged for and how much for each charge. Multiple people at Pangea, including the local property manager, have been unhelpful. I suspect they will not provide an itemized bill because they do not have one and it's common practice to confiscate the entire security deposit and bill in-excess of that. Their business practice of not informing tenants of charges and immediately using IQ Data as their billing department is unprofessional.

Pangea Real Estate I am having an issue with the Pangea building management and company

I am having an issue with the Pangea building management and company. To begin, I HAVE been late on rent, and I have been behind for a while trying to get myself out of this hole. I do understand that paying rent is a part of my lease contract however I have tried to be as good at communicating with the company and keeping up with payments as I can. I sent a message to my property manager (***) on August 9 asking if there were any inspections that took place in my apartment unit and I never got a response to that message. I received a message back from my property manager on Aug 15 and he was inquiring about my rent payment for the month. I responded to his message the next day and said that I was still waiting to hear back about the inspections because the art that I have hanging on the wall in my walkway was on the floor when I returned to my unit after a few days of being away. He immediately said that no inspection happened in my unit and that he was only concerned about my rental payment. There was a little back and forth where I asked where he was during inspections and he told me he was not there and I should have collected evidence. The conversation ended with him saying he'd speak to his supervisor. I never got any follow up so I reached out again on Aug *** my unit. I then asked for his supervisor's contact information which he refused multiple times and would not even give me a name to go off of when I called resident care he just told me he would reach out to his supervisor (his second time telling me this). I realized that I was not going to reach a solution with him so I reached out to the resident care team on Aug 20 to inquire about the inspection and report *** for his rudeness and lack of communication and I never heard back. I did continue to try to contact *** about deadlines and info for rental assistance and I was continuously ignored
