Bad service
I have owned this business for 37 years. My brother-in-law was my business manager for 22 years until Dec. 10, 2008. He died on Jan. 1, 2009 after a 17-year battle with prostate cancer. Eleven months before his death, he signed a 4-year lease with Pitney Bowes for a DM100 Postage Meter. The lease payments total $1, 405.52 a year ($117.13/month) which...

The worst transaction I have had to endure in over 25 years of office experience. A simple postage meter. $20/month rental for one year and i'll be spared that occasional trip to the post office. Sounds like a great deal, right? Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. The only straight shooting pitney bowes does is in their loss-leading initial rental offer: $20/month for 12...

BEWARE ! This company's agreements are extremely expensive to get out of. They will send you invoices with dates that are as much as 3 weeks prior to your receipt of the invoice. They sit on these to collect late fees. They use a lock box system to collect payments, and there are many errors with misapplied payments. They will also charge late fees on unpaid late fees, although they claim they do not do this. There are hidden charges that are NO WHERE in the contract. I have documentation to prove all of this if anyone is intersted. Their customer service is also very poor (with few exceptions) and nobody follows through. They are the only vendor that I record who I spoke with so the next month I can refer back.
Employee complaint
I worked for PB govt solutions on a contact to a gov agency. they mistreat their employees like no company I have ever dealt with. I have worked for huge corporations for years and never experienced anything like this. we were not allowed to bring our personal belongings to our desk. we could not carry a cell phone. they cut our breaks from 15 mins to 10 mins and would regularly tell us we could not take lunch. they created a policy that no employee could have a writing utensil unless they had spc permission. no pens, no pencils. they only gave us 30 min lunches and the facility was so far from anywhere, you were forced to bring a lunch or eat out of the vending machines. they instituted an attendance policy a yr and 3 months after they started the operation and said it went back 3 months. if you were even a minute late, it was a tardy. 3 tardies got you a verbal warning. 4, a written warning and 5 final warning. the tardies are on record for one yr. same thing with absenses. we had to go through a security check point every time we came in and left (even to go on break). women could not wear an underwire bra. you couldn't wear regular shoes b/c they have metal in the sole. PBGS made my dept stay for 8 hours a day even when we had NOTHING to do. they wanted to bill the govt agency for as many hours as possible b/c they made so much money off of us. we certainly didn't see that money. terrible mgmt with no communication or leadership skills. I heard recently that the head mgr of this location walked out. it's a terrible company. don't work for them! they still have not paid me for my last two weeks and the HR mgr only called me after I sent an email to all the executives and the head of the govt agency (who is appointed by the president of the USA). the HR mgr claims that he did receive my last three emails. they have no scruples, no ethics and are morally bankrupt.

Lease
I advise anyone who is looking to lease a postage machine from Pitney Bowes to STAY AWAY from doing so.
Please just go to one of the new online postage places. For a small business the machines are expensive and so slow! I signed a 60 month lease! I feel like I will never get out of this thing. Please do all your research before getting sucked in.

Will not remove from mailing list
I have been receiving multiple Pitney Bowes flyers via US Mail every week for almost two years. Upon receipt of the first flyer, I called PB and asked that the organization be removed from their mailing list as we have no use for their services. I was assured it would be.
Over twenty-five phone calls and two years later, guess what- I'm still getting the flyers! I wish I could file a harassment lawsuit. What a waste of my time. And what a waste of paper and money on their part. Even if I might need their products in the future, after this, I would not even consider using this company.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
I would recommend you bill them for your calls and time wasted dealing with their incompetence. You can mail them your fee schedule.
Rudeness, over charging!
They are the very worst, by far, company i have ever had the misfortune to deal with - they are rude, don't respond to anything, overcharge you, it would be easier to name anything they did right. When we moved office, they managed to set up two accounts for us (even though we had returned their machine and bought one of our own) and we almost got taken to...

Pitney Bowes is the PITS! Their contracts are ridiculously expensive for a postage meter. We tried several times to get out of our contract after paying for 4 years and they would not let us out...they lowered the payments and extended it for another two years. I called a year later and said we cannot pay this anymore is there anything you we can do to get out of the contract. They came back with the full amount of the contract and a cancellation fee on top of that...really...why would I pay more for something I want to get out of...STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING PITNEY BOWES...THEY ------- WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE...RIP OFF COMPANY...HOPEFULLY, WITH EVERYTHING ONLINE TODAY THEY WILL BE OUT OF BUSINESS ONCE EVERYONE PAYS OFF THEIR CONTRACTS!
Pitney Bowes is a disgusting corporation to deal with. Every month they make the same 'error' on our invoice and over charge us by $20. Every month we call to adjust and they do the adjustment. Their machine is slower than hand applying stamps, and any 'savings' the machine claims to give you are lost 10 fold on paying for ink, monthly fees, and any other insane fee they try to sneak through hoping that you won't call them on it. I've convinced my entire office to switch to Postal Champs (http://www.paperdirect.com/Postal-Champ-Stamp-Applicator/-141655) pay $25 once and never pay again. You might lose a few cents to over stamping by a penny or two, but today at work the stupid Pitney Bowes machine wasted $4 on postage because it failed to alert me when it ran out of ink.
And no, I don't work for Postal Champ, I just hate Pitney Bowes. fair andbalanced on the other hand clearly works for Pitney Bowes, all he does it troll this web site for them, just check out some of the other swill he has posted defending the evil corporation. I will actively tell anyone who listens to never deal with them.
Sounds more like a rep for the French based company which rides on the coat tail of PB. There are too many federal compliance acts, terms and conditions as well as state laws which prevent what you state from occuring. Buy American, PB is 90 plus years old...or give your money to the French...run anAmerican stamp through a French made meter...please. You are why we are losing job to the overseas markets. OWN IT!
