Bakery Department
Ordered a specialty chocolate abundance cake on 7/18/22 for a party on 7/22/22 with a pickup time @ 7:15am. On my way, a 45 minute drive from my home, I am within 3 minutes of the store to receive a phone message telling me that the cake decorator called out sick and I cannot pick up the cake. I go into the store as the manager is discussing it with the group and tell him that I am unhappy. He (Ryan) offers to deliver, which I accepted and appreciated. When he arrived, I explained that I hadn't paid for the cake and he allowed me to pay him cash, $38 since he had already paid for it. My complaint is that the cake did NOT look anything like what was ordered. It looked as though it had been thrown together last second, without thought to detail and looked nothing like the picture. I am not understanding why this wasn't done the night before and ready for pickup. Very disappointed and disgusted.
Desired outcome: I would like a gift card sent for the amount of the cake
Pharmacy
I called in a prescription for my daughter for a facial cream- the quantity is 45 grams- which is the size of the tube/ the tech transcribed it as 45 days and insurance denied it and she paid 65$ for the script when insurance would cover it. The tech explained that next time tell them you want 30 days instead of re-entering it in the computer with the correct/ accurate information. I called the insurance company and they agreed that because of the error of transcription they would not cover it. This was at Parkview Commons Publix in Ocala Florida on 7/19/2022 at 6 pm.
Desired outcome: Script to be corrected
Milk
I was a victim of a burn injury caused due to the quality of milk brought from Publix. The reason for the post here is to warn consumers about the quality of Publix milk and take adequate care that such incidents do not happen.
The milk was bought on June 9 and was good to use until 19th Jun. The incident happened on 14th Jun when I was heating the milk in the morning for coffee. While I was working near the gas the milk turned sour and before I could realize and act, unexpectedly the milk in the saucepan exploded and rose to 6 feet height and splashed on my face.
Due to unbearable pain, we had to call 911 and had to be at once taken to the Level 1 Trauma Center Burns hospital in Atlanta - Georgia. I was given an IV and heavy pain killers on the way and treated in the Emergency Room. I had heavy burns on my face - diagnosed as secondary burns with partial thickness.
Milk could get sour, but no one would expect the milk to explode and rise to 6 feet in height. I have milk stains on my ceiling. The burns caused on my face and eyelids were extremely painful and doctors confirmed that the scares may or may not clear over a period.
I raised an incident with Publix on 15th June which they followed up on the 17th of June. A couple of follow-ups later, their risk department called back on 23rd June to mention that they tested the milk and found it okay. However, they were not willing to reveal the test results. Publix's risk department conveniently dismissed the issue mentioning that 'heating the milk was akin to altering the product'. They continue to deny that their milk could be an issue. Publix team has been insistent on this being a consumer issue than their quality.
As noticed in this forum as well on other forums (https://www.reddit.com/r/publix/comments/8c2f3o/milk_not_as_fresh_as_it_used_to_be/), this is not an isolated incident. Publix milk has turned sour in the past as well.
Desired outcome: Adequate compensation from Publix and acceptance that the milk quality is not always good.
Resolved.
Kraft 16 slice yellow cheese
Was just under 6.00 last week and is 7.49 today ! Done with these price gouging scammers.
Drinking water
Bought gallon bottle of Publix drinking water and was serving some to 3 year old grandson. He drank it. But later that day I drank some and it tasted funny. So I placed my nose to the bottle head to smell inside and it smelled like gasoline. I'm praying my grandson nor I get sick from this. I'm getting the bottle contents tested and getting a lawyer in case.
Desired outcome: I request that Publix bottling facilities be thoroughly examined and results published for the community. In the event we get sick whether short term or long term damage we demand compensation.
Terrible quality steaks
We were looking forrward to cooking steaks on the grill this evening. Went to publix to get some steaks. Decided on buying two New York strips. This cut of meat is usually spot on for grilling but these steaks we're the toughest and tasteless chunks of leather we had ever eaten. And btw, this is not the first time. Publix meats are mediocre at best. This is the publix at Kelly Park in Apopka FL. I'll go to Winn Dixie for my steaks from now on. Absolutely awful steaks.
Clerk
The clerk I was bagging for told me that "I acted white, which was a good thing." Well, the comment was hurtful, rude and I am who I am. I act like who I am. That was totally wrong and made me feel that Caucasians are superior and every other race is beneath them.
Well, my manager wasn't there but when he arrived the following day. I told him what happened. Everyone acted as if I killed someone for speaking up for myself. They said they would handle the situation. I gave my statement, left and they went through their process.
Well, a week goes by and they told me that they were sorry. Sorry! I didn't get it, That's all that they could say to me, I didn't deserve that comment by a fellow Publix worker. We are here to do the same thing, serve the customer, and do our job with the utmost respect, no maker creed or color.
I am furious about the entire situation, I deserved an apology from her, not a SORRY from management. Disappointed with how they handled the situation. I guess she was right all ethnicities need to act "white" in order to work at Publix.
Desired outcome: An apology would have been better, than management making it seem okay that another employee, says something racist and tells the other person SORRY!That's like telling a dog you forget to feed it. That made me feel so small and worthless.
Pharmacy Refusal to Fill Prescription as Written by Physician
I have had trouble filling a prescription for Ubrelvy 100 for several months using Publix Pharmacy. This started as early as March 2022. My doctor prescribed the medication for migraines and sent it to Publix Pharmacy in White Oak (Richmond, VA) to be filled. I got it fine the first time, the second month I was told by the cashier that she was using a coupon and could not get it approved for more than 10 pills. The doctor had prescribed 16 pills. I had no choice but to accept the 10 pills at the time as I was suffering greatly with a headache. In April I called and spoke to a male pharmacist who told me he could not refill the prescription for 16 pills. I told him that I had received from Blue Cross to receive the meds through 4/23/2023. He told me, "I wasn't notified, I can only approve 10 pills. I advise you to go back to your physician and get this cleared up." I thought it was cleared up and was not aware that the pharmacist had to be notified by the insurance carrier and the physician. In May I again contacted them to get the refill and was told from someone named Jennifer, who identified herself as a pharmacist that they could not break a pack to give me the 16 tablets. I called the insurance carrier to find out what to do, all the time having such a severe migraine that I was supplementing it with 8 tylenol a day. After conferencing with "Jennifer" she advised the carrier that they could not break a pack of 10 pills to create the 16 called for in the prescription. We immediately changed to another pharmacy with no problems. Jennifer then called me back later and left a message to say she had checked her records and they had never filled the script for 16 pills. I called her back, but she would not come to the phone! Incompetence reigns in that pharmacy, no one knows which story to tell or which protocol to follow. We will be filing a complaint with the Virginia Association of Pharmacists to make them aware of the sheer inability to complete a single prescription without so much confusion. I'd be interested in knowing the reasons, was it the cost? Was it a racial thing? I've never come across so much incompetence in one place. I am in the process of changing all of the prescriptions along with my families' prescriptions just in case they decide to have another problem.
Various products.
The Publix store on Fury's Ferry Road in Martinez GA has a problem keeping items in stock. When they run out , it may take 5-6 weeks for them to restock the item, always blaming it on the fact it didn't come in on the shipment. On more than one occasion I have asked the store to reorder items and they never did. I even called the main office in FL and they gave me vague responses and promises never kept. Also, you should have a way for those of us that don't use digital coupons to get the same deal. I have taken to just ordering those items from walmart or amazon which usually has a better price.
Desired outcome: Start managing your inventory better. I don't expect a response anymore.
this place is like a pet store.
05/25/22 time 12/15 public supermarket located at town and country shoping center miami fla.The increasing amount of dogs taht costomers are bringing in is disgusting why managers are doing nothing about this.
Publix pharmacist over riding md's rx because written off label
On May 17, 2022 I had seen my Dr to review my labs. I needed to know why an RX for an ED medication (Viagra) was not working. It had been less than 30 days since my last Rx for the same med was filled but when my Dr examined my labs he discovered I had low T which was why the medicine had not been working even tho I had been taking 2 at a time. My Dr Rx'd IM injections of Testosterone and called in another Rx of viagra with instructions for me to only take 1 per day.
However, on May 22, 2022 At 1 PM at the 5 points Publix in Wilton Manors FL even though my Dr has the full authority to Rx off label, your Pharmacist refused to give me the new Rx which they had already sent me a text msg that it was ready and I had already paid in advance for.
Instead of taking me asside to have a confidential private discusion about this incredibly personal and embarrasing situation regarding my difficulty to achieve erections during sex, your "Professional" pharmacist was ANYTHING BUT PROFESSIONAL as she was yelling from behind the counter during a busy Sunday afternoon in the store where everyone checking out could hear about how it was less than 30 days since I last refilled my viagra and she was the last line of defense and she knew better and had more authority than my Dr who had made the decision to submit another script only after carefully examinging my bloodwork.
Who the hell does she think she is yelling this out in front of God and anyone who cares to listen, totally disregarding my right to privacy and being utterly void of any compassion, acting instead like some keystone cop or viagra police?
I was utterly and totally humiliated and she deserves to be fired for over stepping her bondaries, her lack of professionalism, and humiliating me in front of my neighbors.
I was so humiliated I almost lost my temper but I caught myself, yet she added insult to injury when she started YELLING "call 911", "call 911" like some kind of imbecile and proceeded to call the police on me even though I did nothing to warrant this kind of mistreatment.
I left feeling utterly humiliated and totally rejected because your PharmD overstepped her boundaries and even called the police
Desired outcome: she should attend sensitivty training and be transferred to a different location.I appreciate an apology and wld like my Rx which has already been filled and which i have already paid for to be delivered to my home Rx # [protected]
Something off about the taste of Publix 2% milk. We also buy milk from Costco and the Publix milk from Georgia has a sour taste. I am not an expert milk taster like Napoleon Dynamite, but it tastes like the Publix cows have gotten into the onion patch.
Customer service Store #150 in Cumming Ga.
I was using the lottery machine in this store, and it malfunctioned and took my money. I did not want to walk away from the machine with my money in it. So, I waved to get the attention of customer service person. She saw I needed her help She just looked at me and turned her back and ignored me. So, I walked over closer to customer service and called out to her, and she turned and yelled at me, I saw you, what do you want. I said if you saw me why didn't you acknowledge me and respond. She responded she was busy. She saw the manager was watching so then she decided to help me She was working in Customer service, I wonder if she knows what that is.
Just one chair in the front of the checkout lines.
For months now we have asked for more seating in front of the checkout lines. Our store only has one chair. My wife needs to sit when we get done shopping and I check out the groceries. There was a bench there before covid. With all the people, including Publix employees, not wearing masks the bench, which I am told is upstairs, should be put back. Man, this is not rocket science. Put the bench back!
We shop at the St. Cloud Publix on the west side of town.
Desired outcome: Put the bench back!!!
Cracked windshield by publix truck
On Monday March 14th while driving on I-4 around Lakeland Fl. I was behind a Publix truck when I heard something hit my windshield. I noticed when I arrived a crack on my windshield the next morning. I commented 3 different times since with no success. Could someone please help me with this. the crack now goes all the way across the windshield. it`s a danger thank you. Willie Vazquez [protected]
Desired outcome: please replaced my windshield
Onions and apples and nectarines purchases
on 3/18/22 a bag of yellow onions were purchased. Before we could use them which was several days later, they were rotten. I couldn't tell because of the skin on the onions. Very disappointed. Next, on 3/23/22 a bag of nectarines premium were purchased, they were no good, they look pretty on the outside totally rotten on the inside. This comes from being...

I have once again been humiliated and treated unfairly in the store number 0587. I feel discriminated against and stereotyped because I carry a bookbag. I went to this location to get a fountain soda and some ice. Upon paying for my drink I was told that I had to pay $1.87 a piece for 2 be cups of ice in which is free. I told the manager that I have an email that states otherwise and was made to go charge my CV phone and pull the email. Like I have stated several times I don't mind paying $.35 to $.65 for it because I know the cups do cost or I don't mind bringing a cup but have been told everytime until then that it's free. I mean it's ice. Something that is made from water. I'm willing to bet my life on it that no one else has been treated like this for ice. Last time I was told that the ice was for soda drinkers after being followed around the store and then to the buggy area like a criminal upon purchasing ice cream and cigarettes at this location. I have started to contact my attorney for discrimination but thought that maybe it can be resolved without that but I'm not going to continue to be humiliated and treated like this at this location. I have met and spoke with the assistant store manager whom was very nice and did not treat me unfairly. But I decided to go further than with just him and contact you again so this doesn't happen to me again or anyone else in the future. I can't say that anyone else has been treated unfairly but I'm not going to be treated this way — Forwarded message — From: Melissa Oshields

Progresso soups
You are charging over $3.00 a can of Progresso Soups at you Centergate store in Sarasota, FL . This occurred on March 15, 2022
At Detwiler's it is $1.79. If that isn't price gouging what is?
Desired outcome: Go back to your original price $2.59 or sometimes buy 1 get 1 free. I also notice that Publix is much higher than Walmart I am jst pointing this out.
Watermelon and more....
I understand that because of the economy prices in the markets are going up a bit. However, when I went into the Publix on Saxon Blvd. in Deltona, Florida and saw a package of 4 slices of watermelon for 5.49 cents...that is just way, way over the top and a poor excuse for taking advantage of their community. All the other packages were close to that price as well. They should be so ashamed of themselves. All my family members and so many of my friends have always shopped at Publix...but I think for some of us...that's about to change and we're going to go somewhere else from now if I don't see those kinds of prices come down. Obviously, I did not even think of buying it or anything else they have raised way over the top. The more they price gouge, the less they are going to see their loyal shoppers frequent the store.
Service
I'm out of town visiting family and stopped at store #1525 on 2/7/22 @ 13:43. Prior to checking out I stopped at the deli to get a couple of sandwiches when another customer leans in over my right shoulder into my ear,I then express to him to give me my space and to get off my shoulder. Then as I'm ordering my food a employee (Zoey-nametag) leans in and reaches over my left shoulder and starts to conduct business with the employee behind the counter as me as a customer was not there. I then ask her was I not standing here and she replied that she was just trying to get something taken care of then proceeds to laugh and talk it off with the same customer I asked to give me space. If not unprofessional before that!
Deli
I purchased a rotisserie chicken at the Southern Trace store in Fl, very unhappy, the chicken was over $7.00 and the chicken was so punie that it wouldn't feed 2 people, your stores are selling rotisserie chicken for the same price as a year ago and giving a lesser amount, I went to Sam's Club and purchased a chicken for half the price and would feed 4 people, yes I know prices have gone up due to the pandemic but this was the last straw " shame on you"
Desired outcome: STOP GOUGING PEOPLE
