I been buying Purina One, Chicken and rice formula for around five years and never had an issue. My last bag I purchased was a 40 lb bag and I purchased it from Schnuck’s supermarket in Eureka, Missouri. After a couple weeks I noticed my dog wasn’t eating it very much, but didn’t give it much thought because the weather has been very hot. I just assumed he wasn’t as hungry from the heat. The day before yesterday I opened the food container and went to get a container full out and to my horror it was infested with Larder Beetles and their larva. After seeing this I immediately emptied the container and took it far out in my yard, soaked it in diesel fuel and incinerated it. After reading about these insects I’m very concerned about infestation, as the container was on my porch attached to my kitchen. I have sprayed the entire area with a pesticide and have relocated my dogs feeding area. Additionally I have sanitized my dogs feeder and scorched the entire unit with a propane torch to kill any possible remnants of these insects. I have not taken my dog to a veterinarian since he shows no symptoms described in the literature I’ve read. I’m concerned that there is an ongoing infestation issue at either your manufacturing facility, or at a warehouse where this food is stored, and wether this food is a concern from this point forward. I am a neighbor to the Purina Farms show facility in Labadie, Missouri and wish to continue supporting Purina, but have a concern now about quality control.

Desired outcome: I’d like reimbursement for the infested food and assurance that this issue is being followed through.
