Highly incompetent home loan collection and customer service
RCBC (Philippines) has terrible customer service and collections processes.
1. At least once every year in the past 3-4 years, the bank incorrectly collected the wrong amount for my monthly amortization from my savings account. More than the usual amortization amount were deducted. I do not know if such is due to a systems glitch or human error. It takes months for them to take corrective measures. Consequently, my payment records became a mess because of their mistakes.
2. Getting a proper response to emails can take several months. A simple request for a statement of account sometimes takes weeks. The worst was last year when it took roughly 50 email exchanges before any one bothered to actually take action on my request for rate reduction. They charged me 9% annual interest even when the general interest rates set by the Central Bank was lowest in years.
If you are planning to get a home loan, NEVER CONSIDER RCBC (Philippines). Consider yourself warned.

Credit card application offered by the rcbc marketer
A marketer contacted me and confirmed I was legible for the platinum card. They confirmed all needed information from me and was told to wait 10-15 business for a call verification. I received a txt december 29, 2020 and saying my application was deferred due to incomplete information. The reference id is [protected]. I called the customer service hotline and she verified all my information again! I gave and verified my information, now that lady told me to wait for 10-15 days for another call. I received a call from a lady forgot her name and verified my information again and told me this is wait 5-7 business days for another call. Now I received another text jan 12 and saying my application was deferred due to incomplete information. I called today jan 19 and spoke to a lady and told me she cant find the reference id. I was disconnected and spoke to another rep named bash de leon, now this time around they are asking me to fill up an application form? Why would I do that? First, I didnt call your bank to give me a platinum card, you were the one who offered me and did not require me this application form. Now why are you asking me to fill out an application form. I ask for a manager and bash told me is in a close door meeting? Rcbc bank is so big to have all managers all at the same time in a close door meeting. Why do conduct business like this? Why do you this to your loyal customer? I have 2 credit cards to your company and I can say am a good payer. Why do you this kind of business?
My housing loan in rcbc

Good day. I would like to complain about the company rcbc and Michael Ayao (collection specialist). Michael Ayao email me about my housing loan due December 3 that I have to pay 24, 850 pesos because my money is not enough so on same day I put the money and email him again to deduct it for my housing loan. Then he didn't reply to my email and there was no deduction yet in account for the housing loan so I email the loan department in rcbc and receive a reply After a few days that I have already interest because I'm past due already.
I email them immediately and this is what I told the loan department and to Michael Ayao.

Last December 2019, I applied for an RCBC Card not because I wanted it but to help out the wife of an officemate who was offering it. The ga e my application also i. December 2019 before Christmas. January or February came and i received a phone call asking that i verify my sensitive personal information. As i know that this is standard i complied and answered all questions. March came and i got another call asking the same questions. I again complied. Eight months after (August 2020), i still do not have my card. And the one who tried to get me to sign up for a card said that according to the card division of RCBC i have to re-apply because it had taken more than 6 months since i applied. I was also told that I will be reviving another call for verification of my personal details. I simply said “If this bank does not know how to service potential clients, i will not ask that I’d be given the card. 3 times to get my sensitive personal information? Each call done by a different person. This people handling the card applications must be investigated by the Data Privacy Office. This is so wrong. And there isn’t even a bit of remorse from the bank personnel.
re-delivery of rcbc bankard
Good day! I was approved of my rcbcbankard last july 9, 2019 then july 16, 2019 I got a message saying, "we have been trying to deliver your rcbc bankard ending4007 but our efforts have been unsuccessful. To arrange for re-delivery, please call 888-1888." so I complied. I called them the same day to arrange my re-deliver. And until now, as of today, my rcbcbankard hasn't arrive at my billing address. It's still on transit. It's almost 1 month upon my re-delivery request. I've been following up everyday. Still no positive answers. Kindly do something please.

I tried to apply bayanihan conversion upon proceeding the application after a while the girl called me and discussed everything about bayanihan she then told me that if I'm going to proceed my application my card will be suspended so I decided not to proceed and cancel my application on that day she said that its okay the application will be cancelled on that day. But when I settled my account I paid for my bill, when I'm about to use it it's no longer active. I thought we that application was already cancelled because the girl on phone assured me. I called many times on bankard hotlines the agent was keep on saying that 2 to 3 banking days there's someone to call me for my card reactivation but almost 1 month I waited I called many times but same things they told me that 2 to 3 banking days I feel upset why they keep on saying that without taking action on how to reactivate my card, in fact this is not my fault they proceed with bayanihan conversion without any of my approval. Until now my card is no longer in used and nobody called me. I send them many emails but no action for my concern

Several follow-up was made with regards to the supplementary card for my wife May T. Paris but unfortunately no delivery was implemented, is this for this reason i would like to make complaint with your courier whose in charge of delivering the said card.

credit card - dispute
I have filled a dispute since March 2019. Just after a day, someone called me from this number - 028881888, he said he is a dispute specialist from RCBC and told me that he already resolved my issue and reversed the charges on my account. next thing I know, I had my account past due and they even forwarded my account to collections. All representatives I talked to were no good, they are all incompetent. Liars and gives false assurance! Until now my dispute is still ongoing! Its already beyond timeframe that they said 7bd!

I have already settled my acvount last 2019 and I’m just waiting for my clearance but until now I haven’t received any but instead someone emailed me demanding for payment of unsettled bill. How com I have unsettled bill for an account that was closed and just awaiting for Clearance?

credit card annual fee
I am complaining about the annual fee that you have charged to my credit card. As far as I know your agent offered me a lifetime free annual fee. Despite of making follow ups for my request, and explaining to them that the agent gave a misleading information they still declining my request for the reversal. I am requesting your department to retrieve my application for proper identification of this agent that I also want to complaint.

I called in a few days ago to ask why my bill was higher than expected. I found out that they charged the annual fee. I asked for it to be waived and they said that i need to make a payment first before it could be processed. So i made a payment, a fairly decent amount, and i called a few days later. Now they are saying that they can't process it because i called before 9:00am. I should call by 9:00am? No one said anything about the time that requests can be honored! And the woman i spoke with was just downright dismissive. "Hindi po namin ma process yung request kasi hindi pa po 9:00am". It would have been ok if she said it in a professional and "customer friendly" manner and I would have happily agreed to call back at 9:00am. After all, i am asking for a fee to b waived. But her tone was just really condescending. Parang akala mo naman nanlilimos ako. And when she said "thank you for calling have a nice day." the way she said it sounded so scripted it was as if she was forced to say it just because her job requires her to do so. She sounded tired and irritated. She may be feeling that way inside, but just like it's part of her job to talk to customers, it's also part of her job to sound professionally pleasant. That's basic customer service common sense.
unreliable product information
i am browsing the internet regarding instacard and i came across rcbc instacard which I'm wondering there are lots of complaints about their instacard. Of course I won't believe it unless i experienced it personally. I really like the idea of an instacard and dreamed to have one. i chose rcbc since i already have a savings account with them and before opening a time deposit, i asked it several times with a bank employee and even call center reps and all are saying the same. it is not after of your past credit history. Last Feb. 25, i finally opened a TD-hold out deposit with rcbc and the marketing officer oriented me on how the program works. a week after, i called bankard and on my surprise i got declined. so, i was really wondering how and where in the world will i declined since it has a hold out deposit in exchange of the card. i went back to the branch were i opened my TD since the supervisor i have talked with Bankard was so rude. He doesnt have any soft skills. i asked the branch rep to check on why i got declined. later, i was explained that it was because of my outstanding payment with my rcbc card before. there was never one idea on their website telling the same thing but of course, i didn't argue anymore. i just requested for my funds to be returned. they informed me that they will deduct a preterm fee. well, it doesnt make sent to me but for the sake of having a peace of mind, i just agree. the money was deposited on my account the same day. what i did? i withdraw all my money and even my savings account with rcbc and went to bpi to open an instacard with them. hopefully, i wont experience the same nightmare i had RCBC.

RCBC called my mobile number last Monday to inform me that my credit card application was approved.. The officer asked me where it should be delivered and informed me that I should get it after three days.. I imquired on Wednesday about leaving an authorization letter in case I was not home. On Thursday I received a reply that says I was not approved! I called customer service and they said they can't see in the database if I was approved or not. It was frustrating. They called to say that it was approved, they email something else, and customer service doesn't have info. What a joke. I have proof on my phone that I got a call from them last Monday.
unjust and unreasonable withholding of time deposit placement fee for instacard secured credit card
I applied for RCBC Bankard's Instacard - a secured credit card that required a time deposit upon application. I filed my application in January 2011.
I went to RCBC Trinoma several times to ask about my application and they always assured me that they would e-mail Bankard and make a follow-up on my Instacard application.
On March 11, 2011 (Friday), I went back to RCBC Trinoma to inquire about my application. When they said Bankard still had not updated them, I asked if I could call Bankard myself using their phone. I had already waited for two months and I was wondering why my Instacard was taking so long. They gave me the phone number of Bankard and that's when I was told by Bankard's CSR that my application was denied in January 2011 and that the reason was undisclosed.
Since Bankard told me that my application was denied, I talked to RCBC Trinoma's branch manager and asked to withdraw my time deposit. The branch manager said that they could not just release my money and that they had to refer to Bankard for instructions on how to proceed.
On the morning of March 14, 2011 (Monday), I called Bankard and inquired about my request to withdraw my time deposit, since I was assured by the branch manager at RCBC Trinoma that he e-mailed Bankard. I was advised by Bankard that they had nothing to do with the time deposit for my denied Instacard application, because Bankard was a credit card company and that the release of my time deposit was at RCBC Trinoma's discretion. Though I was advised as such, I was also told that they would file a report about my case and I was given a reference number.
Late afternoon of March 14, 2011 my Instacard arrived - it was processed AFTER I requested to have my money back.
I called Bankard and RCBC Trinoma the next day, March 15, 2011, to ask why they processed my application when I already requested to get my money. I was advised by RCBC Trinoma and Bankard to request for the cancellation of the card. Bankard said to call in 2-3 working days to check if my card was already cancelled. I made a follow-up and was informed that my card was cancelled on March 16, 2011.
Today is April 1, 2011 and RCBC Trinoma still would not release my money - the time deposit for my Instacard application that was denied in January 2011 and was speedily processed AFTER I told RCBC Trinoma that I wanted my money back. RCBC Trinoma told me that, according to Bankard, I could only withdraw my time deposit after 60 days to wait for late billing submissions from merchants, when I NEVER USED THE CARD, I HAD IT CANCELLED IMMEDIATELY, and I NEVER EVEN SIGNED IT.
It was not my fault that they processed my application AFTER I requested to have my money back - it was Bankard's. Now Bankard and RCBC Trinoma are saying that I have to wait for 60 days to get my money back.
I e-mailed Bankard with RCBC's CEO on the CC yesterday and I had to make a follow-up today. As of posting I have not heard anything yet from Bankard or RCBC.
RCBC is a bank and Bankard is a credit card company - both are trusted with their clients' finances and yet they have been very unreliable and inconsistent. I am being inconvenienced by these two companies and they can't even reply promptly to my e-mails.
RCBC Trinoma has been keeping my money without logical reason and, since I already requested to withdraw my money and protested against their keeping it for 60 days, RCBC Trinoma is keeping my money without my consent.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

I applied for RCBC Instacard over a month ago and haven't received my card yet. I didn't receive any call nor email about the status of my application. I have to call them after two weeks of opening my application to get an update. According to the customer service representative that I talked to, the application was approved and my card was already out for delivery and so I am expecting to get it within a week. Unfortunately I didn't, I have to make another call to them to check the status of the delivery only to find out that the card was returned because they can't locate my address! How stupid can they get? They have the landmark to locate my house! So I have to make an arrangement for the card to be delivered again to a different address and I have to send copy of that billing address and a valid Government ID. Then I have to wait for another freaking week to get it. If only I knew beforehand that their service is this terrible I would've open an account with BPI or Security Bank instead.
Now, I'm just afraid that this will boil down to cancelling my account with RCBC and I have to wait for two ##3#ing months before they can release my money!
Guys never transact nor trust RCBC, they have the most unreliable and incompetent staffed from the branch down to their customer service. I had my RCBC instacard for more 1 year and 6 months now and the experience is terrible, one time I had an issue with a merchant and that merchant refused to issue me a refund (which is by the way google playstore), I am still within the cancellation policy and when I called their customer service the exact word is " I am sorry but we can't help you dispute the said transaction, we don't have a way to communicate with the merchant", what the H, really?, you are my bank and right now I am calling to ask help to either go after the merchant for me or cancel the payment, well gladly google sent me an email that they will return my funds back to my credit card. Another traumatic and unprofessional experience I had with them is when I decided to apply for a regular credit card, month's past and no communication with them and I kept on calling their incompetent customer service and all they say is that, the branch where I submitted my application haven't forwarded the files yet, I mean Seriously? Its over a month now and what rcbc is good at "pointing fingers", bankard said well its rcbc in ayala's fault and when you call rcbc ayala they will say " we forwarded the application already" I am mad as hell now. Another thing their collection, there was a time that I misse the due date due to financial issues I encountered and guess what collection doesn't care of what you are experiencing they will argue with you and call you everyday, good thing my phone does have blocking option. hi all! i applied for RCBC instaCard on Feb.25 using a hold out deposit. the bank's tellers processed it correctly and i called bankard a week after to check the status of my application, i was shocked i was denied. i went back to the branch were i opened my time deposit to know the reason why it was declined. the bank's employee then informed me that it was because i have an outstanding payment due for my previous card. i requested to terminate my time deposit and was charged of the termination fee. if you are planning to apply for instacard credit cards? go to other banks but for God's sake, don't do business with RCBC. my savings account as well with RCBC was closed because i transferred my funds with AMA bank where i earn 2.0% interest each month on my money compared with RCBC which has only 0.10% which is very much lower than AMA gave me.

InstaCard is the only way where you can easily have a credit card. However if you don’t have extra funds as of now you can borrow to your loved ones then pay them later since we have the widest billing cycle before your due date.
You have 3 options to increase your credit limit.
First you will terminate your existing time deposit account so you can add another amount.
Second you will open a new time deposit account to add to your credit limit.
Third, you will open a new time deposit account with the new card. In short you can have multiple accounts with 1 credit card or both.
We understand that you really want to have a regular credit card. However, if you are going to reapply again with the same requirements that you submitted before I think it’s not a good idea as of now. Why don’t you give it a try with Instacard for at least 1 year, with good credit standing by then you have already proven that you are a good credit card holder. Think about it.
It’s a good start with Instacard since it offers 100% approval. However, if you want to have a regular card from RCBC BANKARD I suggest you have to maintain your Instacard account in good standing (use your card more often and pay your bill on time ) for at least 1 year for you to qualify for that.
It’s free for the first year and for the succeeding years its only PhP60 per month compare with other banks that cost 1, 500 a year. It won’t cost you that much so you must have this rare offer.
If you really want to have a credit card from RCBC then you have to consider the offer of our Bank so you can enjoy the benefits of our card. Just try this INSTACARD for at least 1 year and your application for your regular card will be much easier to process.
Hope you could find some time to fix your time deposit account today so we could process now your credit card. Please don’t forget to bring your 2 government issued Id's & 1 PC id picture any size will do. We can guarantee that you won’t get stuck to our branch.

I've been also a RCBC Bankard Instacard member since 2011 and this September 2014 will be my card 3rd year anniversary. After a year been very good member/payer (2013) i tried to request for a convertion of my card to a regular card as promised by the ###ing RCBC teller that if i will use the card very good i will have a chance the card to be converted into regular card/account and have my collateral deposit lifted and release, Last year 2013 i try to request the convertion of the card to a regular card, sadly rejected. few weeks after, I made another request to increase the limit from 20K to even 25K, Sadly rejected again. This year 2014, i made the same request, convert the card into regular, (status), rejected! Again, to increase the limit, again rejected ...! few weeks after, made my very last request (with threat) for reconsideration of my request, finally, REJECTED!... So as revenge, i immediately request the cancellation of the card saying "Your service is suck! your product is suck! your employee is suck! I DON'T NEED TO INSEST MYSELF TO YOU at hindi ako luluhod na magmamakaawa sa inyo, Its not my lost after all, lots of credit card company out there! So my card immediately canceled and informed the RCBC branch that my card was already canceled and answered me that they will wait for the clearance instruction from Bankard before my time deposit be release to me. After 3 Days finally the RCBC branch contacted me that they have already received an order/ clearance from Bankard. Unfortunately, received a call from Bankard the same day saying that my time deposit would only be release to me after 60days. What? (with anger) FIRST OF ALL i made the cancellation of the ###ing rcbc credit card without any balance ... Secondly, as per my reviewed on the terms and condition of the DEED OF ASSIGNMENT, there was no part there or condition about the 60DAYS you are telling me.I will not listen to your mouth, i will hold what i signed...So release my deposit immediately or i will sue your company? So late afternoon the RCBC branch request me to come and sign the release of my deposit... Unformately again, when i come to the branch they request me to open a savings/atm account before my money be release with 3K maintaining.. ###! ###! ###! RCBC ... MGA MANLOLOKO ... Ang pinaka napansin ko, parang nauubusan na yata sila ng depositor, ng cash reserve ngayun ang RCBC kaya lahat na lng ng strategy nila .. KAYA MAG INGAT NA KAYO SA RCBC ... I am an RCBC INSTACARD user for almost a year. I never had a problem regarding harrasment by the collection officer of RCBC. Yes its true that when you forgot to settle your balance, a collection officer will call you to remind you regarding the amount that needs to be paid on or before its due date. Regarding with the collection officer, they are not from RCBC, they are call center agents from many BPO company which was hired by RCBC to do the job as RCBC's collection officer. By the way, I am a call center agent too and we have that RCBC account for collections that is why I have an idea about it.

advance banking hours time
My complaint is about the banking hours time in a branch of RCBC Savings Bank at Olongapo City the Sale Executive that I had talked to. It happens that I was about to make a deposit and I came there two minutes before 4 PM but in their time it's already 4:08 pm, so they were already closed the guard said. I told the guard if they could let me make a deposit because its very important for me to do that but he said that their sale officer make a strict instruction to follow the time. I talked to that sales officer but he said they follow their time, its a computer time he said. I am wondering only if that bank's objective is to serve the customer at the right time, how can they do this if they got a wrong one?
I would like to complain about an atm machine located at the front of jollibee sta.rosa bayan . I withdraw there this afternoon and at the screen of the said atm machine that my transaction is successful but there is no money that got out of the machine .. Fix your machines. I want my money on monday when i fill my complaint at your nearest branch.

As much as possible I do not want to write here about RCBC (Philippines), but I need immediate action. I can't wait for five more days before my complaint will be addressed and I'm having a hard time contacting the CSR. Because the customer service is getting worse. It takes time, a very long time to get a customer service representative. It takes days before I'm able to contact them. I'm calling them his month (NOV. 12) to check how much I will pay for the pre-termination of my loan. Finally, I got CSR and told me that the first loan will be 25, 123.93 + 1, 256.20 (5% pre-termination fee) total of 26, 380.13 PHP. The second loan was quite too big, the CSR told me that my balance is 276, 088.02 + 13, 804.40 (5% pre-termination fee) total of 289, 892.42 PHP. I decided to pre-terminate the second loan. However yesterday I saw my SOA( RCBC Bankard) and I received a text message that my balance is 297, 033.89 PHP, why? what happen? That's why I called The CSR so I know how much I need to pay. And even though I add up my monthly payment from the first loan it will not end up this big. I called the RCBC CSR, of course, it takes a while before I got a representative, he already made a complaint. My question is why the CSR can not even check what happened? because this is not the first time I pre-terminated my loan, and if there will be a discrepancy from the amount that they gave me over the phone it will be just cents, not that big. then why? This is the first time it happened to me?
Since I'm trying to lessen my burden in paying them monthly, lessen my expenses, and keep a good record in the bank. And I'm not running from my obligation, I borrow money, I have to pay it back. But during this pandemic at least you could give consideration to lessen the pre-termination fee or even remove it to those Clients of yours that are willing to pay it in full amount. We are still not done with this pandemic and still, not all of us have already come back to work. Me I just come back to work after 11 months of no work.
I hope this matter will be clarified and also my request will have a positive result. It will be truly appreciated by all your clients.
