Atrocious Customer Service and Scamming
I emailed months ago to say I wanted to terminate my contract. I was told I had to wait a month prior to August.
I emailed by the deadline. Regus deliberately waited a few days later (past the deadline) to then tell me that I had to cancel through the website.
Why was I not told this initially when I first enquired about cancelling?
Why was I told past the deadline to try and trap me into another year's contract?
This is scamming, unproffessional and unacceptable.
I am not staying with Regus another year. I want my contract terminated with IMMEDIATE EFFECT.
My business is no longer in a position to keep this service and I simply will not be making anymore payments.
Desired outcome: Termination of Contract

Being Billed for services not agreed to
we were informed of a price increase from 87cad to 113 cad. and the need to update our card information and agree to the new prices. we did not update our card nor did we agree to a new price. I thought they would just close our account but the kept billing .
Hi Bill,
There was a security update on our MyRegus portal last month that required our customers to re-enter their credit cards on their accounts. Can you please sign into your account and provide your payment card details again?
You will still be able to setup automatic payments for the future, but you will need to manually click through and make payment on last month's invoice at this time.
JUNE 9th I DID NOT AGREE ANY OF THIS
As a courtesy we are sending you a quick reminder note to let you know your agreement will automatically renew at the end of the month for the term 01 Sep 2022 until 30 Nov 2022 at a monthly price of $100.00 excluding tax.
We would like to highlight that we are able to offer you the flexibility of different term options if your business needs have changed, for example:
Choose to renew for 6 months at a monthly price of $105.00
Choose to renew for 12 months at a monthly price of $109.00
If you would like to change the term of your renewal, or the type or location of your Virtual Office, please reach out to us prior to 30 Jun 2022 and we will be happy to help and explain our range of options.
I do not wish to renew my agreement
We emailed them and said no we wont agree and the lady say she would close our account. .. I also logged in to the Regus.com and closed our account. we also moved different service in another city.
JUNE 17
Thank you for letting me know, we will be ending your services as you have requested.
Please complete the payments as owed as soon as you can.

REGUS IS STILL BILLING ME> AND HARASSING ME
THEY SAY WE HAVE CONTRACT that WE AGREED TO< BUT I HAVE SIGNED NOTHING WITH THEM EVER.
Desired outcome: close the account, .. stop billing.
I'm sorry but we received no such renewal emails. All we get are your invoice notices.
Ordered service not provided
We made a booking for a meeting room at Barking, Jhumat House London (ref.[protected]). Were we ordered meeting room, LCD projector, unlimited tea/coffee biscuits, breakfast and lunch for 410,- pounds! But on arrival there was nothing there! For the last hour I have been trying to reach a guy called Bruce by phone and mail but there is no answer. I have spend already one hour to get the service we have payed for, this is ridiculous! I have also had contact with 3 different people from the service center / call center but they all said that I can only reach out to Bruce for help... Now my colleagues decided to leave the Regus building and look for a restaurant/lunchroom in order to continue the meeting that we booked the meeting room for, I find this to be unexceptable!
Desired outcome: At total refund for the amount of 410,- pounds + a contribution for the lost time and and energie it took us this hour, without a result!

Contract Renewal
I did a year-long lease with Spaces/Regus that is set to conclude on July 31st, 2022. On the last week of April, I spoke directly with one of the Spaces leasing agents about our account, renewals, end date, and more and he was able to confirm our lease ended on July 31st but did not see any renewal options yet. He directly told me I would be getting renewal emails on May 1st for my lease and to check back then.
Up until that point I never got a single renewal email, and in my Spaces portal, there is zero messaging, alerts, or notices for renewals or any options to view or terminate a renewal. (Be aware based on my situation the only notice they claim you will get for renewals is an email). On May 4th I realized I never got those renewal emails as the rep mentioned so I checked my Spaces portal and noticed two renewal documents had been added for an additional year based on their automatic renewal clause and the monthly price had increased by 42%.
I immediately contacted the same rep via email with my confusion who replied on May 5th and said the following:
"I am not sure why that did all that either. So, is your plan to terminate the agreement as of July 2022? Or are you not sure just yet? We still have some time to correct it if you needed to terminate.
The automatic renewal is always there unfortunately and no way to turn it off. You are supposed to get the renewal email that gives you a few options and at the bottom is where it gives you the option to not renew. Since you did not get those emails that makes it difficult to not renew."
I responded immediately that we wanted to cancel and received a farewell email from the reception team as well. At this point it was documented in writing I did not want to renew and Spaces acknowledged I was in the time frame for a cancellation.
On May 28th I received a new email stating an agreement for a month-to-month agreement that would start on August 1st and this email would automatically renew on May 30th (less than 48 hours later) but in the email, there was no option to cancel or not accept either. I forwarded this email to the entire Spaces team and discovered Regus had not accepted the cancellation and was forcing another month on me despite the above and never having the ability to not renew, and even speaking with an employee in person well before the required 90-day notice window. The attached email for this situation also shows how there is no place on how to elect to not accept or renew.
It has now been almost two full months since this first happened and still, no resolution has been made. I was passed on to another Regus employee who for two full weeks still has not provided any answers despite telling me twice via phone she would have some sort of answer for me by a certain date, only for that date to pass and for me to have to reach out again.
Desired outcome: Terminate my lease at the end of July with no renewal option as initially requested.

Office Lease
I had an office at one of your locations in which the lease goes until Oct of this year. Back in Feb after dealing with collections dept, I was informed that I would have up until April to bring my account current to avoid losing access to an office but also to avoid having the full lease amount from going into collections. Upon completing these steps before the deadline I was informed by the collections dept my account was in good standing and I could head back to the Account Manager at my location to find me an office. After going through months of trying to resolve this with the account manager, they are now informing me I can't get an office until I fulfill the payments in full for the contract and begin a new contract again. However, This was not part of the agreement and time is just passing by without being able to hear back from anyone on how to resolve this without having to start a new agreement, when the previous one should still be in good standing.
Desired outcome: I would like to continue my lease at a new space in the office until it is fulfilled in October.
I went ahead and emailed you again at lorraine.brule@regus.com
Also I did settle the account and the pending invoices to 0.00 and once I did so collections dept let me know my account could be reinstated by the account manager at my office.
I replied to you by email and I am including my response here for you to see as well.
You mentioned my invoices needed to be cleared at $0 so that my account could be reinstated, which is exactly what the collections dept let me know as well. They gave me two options, to clear the pending invoices or to terminate the contract and pay the full amount for the lease in full, and even let me know when my deadline to do so was. Once I completed the steps to have my account reinstated, collections dept themselves let me know my account could now be reinstated and to just go back to my account manager at the office to do so. Once I let my account manager know and sent proof of payments, they let me know they just needed to select an office for me and have it approved by corporate. After waiting for over a month I was then let know that because I breached the contract I now had to pay the contract in full and start a new agreement to be able to get into a new office. But this was not what the collections dept let me know would happen or even the account manager that noted he had initially already selected and needed approved the new office for me.
Regus has agreed to resolve my matter by starting a new agreement with the same arrangements at a new location, and also are allowing the previous lease to be deemed as complete as of Jan 31 without further obligations required for pending months. I am in agreement to the terms and see this as resolved.
Automatic renewal/ca ab390
Per my original contract with Regus for a virtual office + two office rentals/month, my contract will automatically renew annually on August 1st. The end date of my current contract is 7/31/2022.
Regus currently sends out renewal notices 90+ days prior to the last day of the current contract and you must make changes or cancel at least 90 days prior to the end of your contract or they will automatically renew your contact.
California passed AB390 (effective 7/1/2022) that now requires companies who engage in automatic renewal for contracts over a year in duration to send out auto renewal notices (with options to cancel) a maximum of 45 days (minimum of 15) prior to the renewal date of the annual contract.
This law becomes effective prior to the end of my current contract, therefore Regus needs to be in compliance with the new law and abide by the new timelines for my renewal date. An auto renewal notice sent to me more than 45 days before my contract end date/renewal of 7/31/2022 is not in compliance with the law...so the 90 day cut off they are attempting to enforce with me is out of compliance as my contract ends after AB390 becomes law. I have informed them of this.
The Regus I have my contract with refuses to follow the new law and is holding me to their 90 day auto renewal policy. I wanted to change my level of service and sent them a new signed contract to do so, which they will not accept due to it being a few days past their (non-compliant) auto renewal limit of 90 days and they will not follow the law of a 45 day maximum to change my contract despite this law being applicable to my current contract and renewal. I was not informed of this: I was told, "sign this new contract and get it back to me when you can".
They are refusing to be in compliance with a law passed to protect consumers. Further, the current ARL in CA stipulates that termination or changing such a contract can be done with a single web link; the link in my renewal email takes me to a services page but gives NO option to change or cancel. It's a dead end.
I wish I had researched Regus and it's predatory treatment of consumers prior to signing my original contract with them. I am likely now stuck with another year of services I do not want simply because they are not willing to follow California law.
My request to the office manager at my Regus office to inquire about this law was met with zero help and a snotty email.
Desired outcome: Change the terms of my contract to the services I requested.

Invoicing / fraudulent use of debit card / inaction to help rectify / lies from account manager
I signed myself and a colleague up to Regus offices mid-May.
I set myself up separately and paid for my initial monthly subscription via my personal debit card. I did NOT tick the use my card for future invoices as I wanted to put a company card on there and was waiting for details.
For my colleague I paid on the company credit card and again didn't tick the box as I was going to use his personal card, only as it is easier and we can manage between ourselves.
I set my colleague up as Co-Working accidentally, and we changed the next day to an Office account, the charge for the Co-Working was carried forward and I paid the difference - again on the company credit card.
I then set my colleague up to a yearly subscription as he was enjoying using the offices and used his personal card to pay for this.
I was at home yesterday and checked my bank account as something bounced when I tried to pay for it and saw I was overdrawn.
Payments for my monthly subscription and the previous subscription for my colleague was taken out of MY personal bank account - a total of around £480 which has made me overdrawn. My personal bank account details is not linked to my colleagues and my card was never used for any of his payments (knowingly). I then checked my account today and over £700 has been taken from my account without my permission.
I spoke to our account manager and she said my card was on both accounts. I checked my account and took a screenshot as there is no card linked to it - even though this months payment was unlawfully taken! I then emailed my account manager and told her there wasn't a card there, she then added my account, and emailed me "where to look" and lo and behold there was my card. This is absolutely disgusting and I want this sorted immediately.
Desired outcome: Refund amount taken over w'end this should not have been charged & especially not from my bank account; refunded for all other wrong charges. I want our account managed by someone who knows what they are doing

Wrongful pursuit of debt
After continuous emails asking for myself the director of the company to receive all emails to never being done.
I then never got chance to see auto renew notice to cancel to which when I did cancel again never heard back.
To be told by ex staff members there was now a debt collection on him.
A larger bond was taken without consent during our time with Regus Milwaukee third which is very poor business etiquette.
The staff are completely incompetent, how can they not get the director contact details correct after multiple emails requesting it to be told ‘ok’
Auto renewal without any information of a contact or notice that auto renew was happening! Very sneaky and deceitful
Do not use this company! Check online reviews this is normal business practice for them
Desired outcome: A swift resolution and debt pursuit stopped, refund of money taken without consent and contact terminated
Lorraine
The company and myself the director is based overseas, as you are fully aware by photos of emails sent to Andrea on multiple occasions and also a call asking for contact details to be changed as I could not access the site.
It’s extremely worrying and quite embarrassing for your side with Regus staff unable to execute simple tasks that we were told they would do.
What’s even more wording Is that after explaining all this and sending details AGAIN my ex employee received latest communication.
Come on Lorraine can you not see the issue and situation has been created by Regus
I want this resolved and swiftly before I seek legal advice, and use our social influencers that have several millions of followers to share the stupidity and incompetence of Regus by sharing my screenshots to you and your other team members
So the response is absolutely unacceptable, please everyone be aware of the poor practices of regus.
Look online at reviews before considering these guys for office premises.
They auto renew contracts without making owners aware and try to charge full term to get out.
Then use debt collection to put pressure on paying for contract never asked for.
They also increase bonds and take money without consent or notice!
This company should be avoided at all costs, I wish I’d seen reviews first

Billing procedures
In 2019, I agreed to establish a virtual office with Regus on a month to month basis to which they agreed. At the conclusion of the prepaid period and unbeknownst to me, I was automatically renewed for a new 2-year period when I "failed" to notify Regus in a timely manner before this 2 year renewal began (and that I did not ask for).
In 2020, I explained to Regus my situation as a small business owner and attempted to work with them to amend the 2 year contract that I never signed, knew about or agreed to. They would not work with me.
In March 2022, Regus informed me that I had a late payment. I then asked for a final payout amount and paid it, including a late fee and the company confirmed receipt and account closure.
On May 27th, 2022, I was contacted by Caine and Weiner, a debt collector stating I owe additional funds and late fees for an account already closed
Desired outcome: Close my account, cancel the collection action, notify all credit agencies that this matter is in dispute and/or resolved, and then send me an engraved apology for being an unethical firm
My complaint was resolved satisfactorily

Regus office Dubai Marina defrauded tenants
I rented an office with Regus (IWG PLC) Dubai Marina. Take some time and read this thoroughly before renting an office. There are many other choices in the area to chose from. Don’t frustrate yourself or your clients staying there.
The center work environment was overshadowed by construction noise at a level where one wouldn’t be able to work or even talk to each other due to the sound disturbance. Think drilling sound on a construction site.
Secondly, the internet hasn’t been working and the center manager has issued a letter to tenants advising that the internet will not be working at certain hours of the day.
Furthermore, I was issued an additional check out invoice at roughly $800 USD equivalent for restoration fees which is an inflated price.
However, like any corporation this one also has procedures they force onto their clients to follow and it’s not unusual for a real estate company to do this especially when they operate at scale.
However, in this case this company has committed multiple counts of fraud and let me be precise about the types of fraud committed by this center.
To clarify, fraud is deception deliberately committed for an unlawful gain.
The staff and its management knew about the construction and whilst other businesses around Regus have been able to manage this problem Regus has not. There are restaurants and gyms that all seemed to have been able to communicate as well as offset some of the frustration caused. Is it Regus fault that there is construction? No! However, they knew about it and rented a place which under their own contract must assure a working environment. The staff has not provided disclosure regarding the ongoing construction and this is fraud.
We are now coming to two separate fraud allegation which are more straight forward. The airconding and the internet didn’t work but both have been invoiced within the contract.
Lastly, the company has issued aforementioned check out invoice and was not able to deduct this from the security deposit. This is a red flag since this could mean that there is no security deposit left. There have been many reports citing credible sources that Regus has been paying back those security deposits at least 45 days late or not at all.
Further reports online in mainstream press show that IWG PLC used to be called Regus which is a subsidiary and was illegally bankrupted. IWG has been overwhelmed with lawsuits in the US and internationally for their unethical and fraudulent financial conduct.
There have been numerous credible news outlets reporting on these issues including a law firm mentioning unethical profiteering. There are rumors in Wall Street that this company might be indicted in RICO charges as well.
If the center management would have been able to connect to its tenants on a personal level all of the above could have been avoided but they use very opportunity to offend their tenants and when you complain than you don’t find anybody wanting to take responsibility making your stay professional and pleasant.
I have been personally offended by the behavior the center manager on multiple occasions.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
The reception behaviour
From the beginning of my cooperation with Spaces, in this particular office (Marousi - Sept 2021) the reception ladies were not very polite, and not very helpful! And it is not the content of their suggestion it's the way they say it. The previous week the behaviour was unacceptable: some clients were visiting athens and they came by without an appointment to see me (Spaces organized an event in the common area (where I work) so I had to go upstairs in another office to work. They asked to see me and the answer was that there was no meeting room available to book so we couldn't meet (no one asked for a meeting room - they were 2 persons) and they asked them to wait outside in the sun 40 C and they never informed me that this incident happened, not even that 2 persons asked for me.
Politeness is mandatory!
No Deposit Refund
Very poor service. I have ended my contract with Regus team located in UAE on 31st January 2022 .and today is 26th May 2022. I have been following up from Regus for my deposit refund from the day contract ended but until now either they are giving false commitments or mostly they are not replying my emails and phone calls . Even their team does not provide email id to escalate matters
I will suggest everyone not to deal with REGUS to save themselves otherwise they will end up suffering like me.
Deposit not refunded
I contract on the office that I have rented from Regus Las Vegas (Arroyo Crossing) have ended at the end of February 2022. They promised me that I will be getting my refund for the deposit amounting to $1899 back. However, until today (20 May 2022), I still have not received a single cent despite the Regus Global Team saying that the refund has been processed all the way back on March 2022. Avoid this company as they will not refund your deposit and will say that it has been processed but you will never get your deposit back.
My account and the bad customer service and the length of time it took to get fixed
I have had my account since July 2020. There was an error of $67.50 that was said that I owed and later discovered that they made an issue which caused a very bad downward spiral. I had to spend a lot of time trying to call/email etc. NO One called me back until I was threatened to go to collections due to no payment.. The same payment that was ALWAYS since I started the account was automatically taken out of my business account every month around the 20 or 21st. NO ONE has apologized to me, it has caused me stress and anxiety. The customer service was HORRIBLE... Thank goodness all the centers that I've used knows me, my energy and my character they looked into my account and went above and beyond trying to help me..
Erika J from the IWG Debt Collections Team is RUDE, doesn't follow thru, has not tried not once to provide good customer service.
I am so sick of this and I am 100% stressed out it has caused me a financial set back because its embarrassing to have to relocate clients due to an error that was cause or overlooked by REGUS and not I.. I have NEVER been late on my payment until this and again only because it was debited out of my account... I was told my account isn't set up but I can show for 2 yrs that it was taken out somehow by Regus every single month.
Is this how you treat customers that you have never had an issue with? STRESS?
my email is [protected]@savemyheartcpr my phone is [protected]
Desired outcome: I want an apology from upper management, Erika J and I want a free service for the duration of time it took to get it fixed. I am 100% stressed out my nerves literally are bad... I have a doctors appointment for the stress of this all
Customer Service and Contracts
I had been doing business with them since last year, loved the service at the offices themselves. However, the actual Regus Company is very apt at taking money from my account not owed to them and resitant to settle the situation in a timely manner. They accidentally charged me $700 extra over a 3 week period and finally gave it back to me after 5 weeks. Thene they took $100 from me and did not let me know how to resolve or that they gave me a credit 3 weeks later. I had to ask for the refund not just a credit on the account. Then they asked for an ACH form to be filled out, which I did, that pushed the refund another week. Then they did not even use the ACH form, they refunded the money to a card on file. I canceled my subscription on March 27th, which technically could ned March 31st if they were at fault, which I feel they are. I do not trust them, the customer saervice is horrible and they told me I had to cancel 90 days before, so I have an email from customer service stating it would end June 28th. Now my subscription in the account online states August 2nd. No one will call me backand there is no phone number readily available to call. When I did call in they put me off that the case was already open and someone would reach out. They just sent an email stating they would not close my account. I am at a loss and may owe $900 because they won't close my account.
Desired outcome: I want my account closed as of March 31st, because in the contract it states if there is negligence on their part, they do not need the 90 days. And I want anything owed off the books and zero out my account.
Underhanded Business practices
Regus arbitrarily adds fees and rates without prior notice. They increased their office restoration fee (move out fee) by 33% without any notice. Further, they bill before the service is delivered and then charge a late fee also before service is delivered! This is an extortionate practice.
They charged $98.10 for unlimited coffee when the coffee machine has always been a paid machine. When pressed, they said they couldnt refund!
Desired outcome: Refund the extra fees
Virtual Office / Business Address
Facts
1. Sent Inquiry to Regus website on 01/21/2022 about a Virtual Office and flex space with mail services and a with a location with secure parking to operation and grow my NEMT company.
2. On 01/22/2022, received response email “Hello from Regus” stating that a member of our team will be in touch shortly to help you find the space you need. (There was no contact info included in the email.)
3. On 01/22/20200, received Email from ‘IWG’ with subject your recent Regus inquiry. The email from [protected]@e.iwgplc.com, stating “ I’d love the opportunity to help you. You can drop me an email or call to get in touch. (There was no contact info included in the email only a link to the IWGPLC.com website.) I replied to the email stating that there is no phone number nor name attached to the email to contact.
4. On 01/24 and 01/26, I received two additional follow-up emails from the same email address. (No name or number attached with instructions to “Just drop me an email or call”). These emails included a reference to an Apple Store app and a Google play app that can be used to access over 1 million workspaces.
5. I replied to the email dated 01/26/2022, Stating again that I have not heard from anyone with Regus and that there was no contact info linked to the email to call.
6. I looked for other providers in the Memphis area, and found that very few offered the space and options that Regus had per there website.
7. on 01/27/2022, I downloaded the Regus app on my iPhone, and found that you could only see the various locations and shared meeting spaces. There was not where in the app that you could see the terms, limitation, and things that are not available such as parking.
8. I chose the Business Address as this package seemed to be the option that most fit what I needed. A Business address with optional space for adhoc meeting a workspace that could be used as needed. The assumption was that this location which has (secured fenced in parking), would allow a client using the services of Regus to also use the parking facilities as need as well. There was no reference on the site to or within any terms that state that parking is not included in the package.
9. After choosing the business address/virtual office option I setup a payment account expecting to see term of service, right and responsibility, common item associated with a rental agreement. I made the requirement payment for the monthly fee $49.00 to begin the account - #[protected] – for which an invoice was created an email. That invoice included several items that were never disclosed nor selected. First there was a none descript $105.32 charge that I never agreed to separate from the $49.00 virtual office charge that I did chose. 2nd there was a $49.00 charge described as a Mailbox plus – Monthly charge that I again, never agreed to and was never given an option to chose or deny. Those charges were made to my WF business account.
10. After receiving the card transaction confirmation email charging $105.32, I replied to the transaction email stating that I did not authorize this transaction.
11. On 01/27/2022 approximately 1:05pm, I Immediately searched my email and junk mail to see if there were terms or fine print that I may have missed that foretold these unauthorized transactions. I did not see any emailed terms or notices about these charges.
12. On 01/28/2022 at 2:17pm, I received an email from Memphis Triad (Memphis.[protected]@regus.com) Titled “Message from Reception: Welcome to Regus – Document Required to Start Service. There was a document and agreement that needed to be signed and returned in order to start services.
13. Upon Reading through the terms from the email and documents submitted by Regus. I had several clarification questions. The first question was about parking a business vehicle onsite at the office location that I would need to work from time to time. The other ques) anywhere in the documents.
14. I replied to the email from Memphis.[protected]@regus.com and asked those questions and was told that space could be reserved for meetings through the app or online. I was also told that Regus does not provide access to parking and any of its locations, Even though Section 20. Manufacturing and Storage: States: You shall not use the Business Center for manufacturing or storage of merchandise except as such storage may be incidental to general office purposes. (That sounds like if I need to bring a park my Transport Van there while working in the office it would be permissible.)
15. As I was told that there is no storage or parking onsite. I found that the terms and conditions would not fit my needs for I requested a refund of fees and retainers. I declined to submit the documents needed to start services.
16. In my state of Tennessee, agreements are two party. One party can not start an agreement without your consent.
17. Even though Regus has not provided any services to my company they have billed us a $105 retainer and several monthly service fees and they even added additional unrequested services.
18. I withdrew Regus and Memphis.Triad’s ability to charge my business account, but there have ignored repeated directors to speak with our attorney and refund the unearned fees that have totaled almost $600.
19. I have forwarded all correspondence to my attorney and will be suing for those fees and suing for breach of contract and harassment.
Desired outcome: I would like a total refund of all unearned fees charged to my business and an apology for its unethical business practices.
Regus unauthorized charges taken wrost company cheater
I have been enrolled regus for a virtual office in kolkata. I had paid that time for one month charge then i did not want this service after that one month.
But regus was made every month automatic invoice last two years. I have send mail to stop this but they have been asked for settlement money for this service. When i denied to pay one person called me and thretaning me and creating a mental pressure, told me logged a court case blah blah...
Please beware this wrost cheater company they are just take money doing blackmail people.
Desired outcome: I will not ready to pay any amount for this purpose because my company was already closed and have not got any profit from business last time. And i want to say please stop harrasing me.
Auto renewal and more unethical business
I have been renting from Spaces/Regus for the last 3 years. Everything for the first 2 years went great. I was working out of the Old Town Scottsdale Location with an amazing staff. Then they started firing them or having them quit for better companies. Roughly 1 year ago I transferred my office to their brand new office in North Scottsdale, and the nightmare began.
I met with the agent renting the spaces and picked out a space on the 4th floor, that wasn't yet completed. Even though it wasn't completed, the space I picked was only missing new paint and a door handle for the most part. They said the door handle was being installed on Monday. So I said let's move the office now, I won't move until Monday anyway. A month later, still no door lock. My door had to be left open with tape for 6 weeks, which prevented me from bringing in my equipment. I was told I would see a credit, no credit of course. Additionally, my billing didn't seem right. So I tried to reach out to corporate. They no longer had a phone number you could reach them at. So you need to put in a request. Which I did, with no response. Every two weeks the front desk person was changed because everyone kept quitting. Finally, I was able to get a front desk person to give me a phone number to call. Unfortunately, it is just an answering service that puts in a ticket on your behalf. A ticket of course, that no one actually ever responds to other than your bill is due. Every month I am receiving late fees, which I don't pay because I want to speak to a human about the mistakes and lack of credit added to my account.
Just like everyone else, having major issues family-wise during covid makes this beyond an uphill battle. Thinking they will eventually work this out with me since this is my 3rd lease and 3rd year with Spaces/Regus. I guessed wrong. After being out with Covid situations, I come back to my office after not being in for over 8-10 weeks only to find stolen items from my office. Very strange, the items stolen were my MacBook charger, computer monitor cord, MacBook extension adapter, and other wires plugged into it. I reached out to the front desk, which takes almost a month to get a police report filed, with no resolution, credit, or apology. Additionally, I received a renewal lease agreement, moving my monthly cost from $1,062 to $1,591 per month for the same space. The fact they would be raising rent for anyone let alone mine is crazy since they are now just finishing in the last two months all the common spaces on my floor and other floors. Spending 2 months without a key to your door and 9-10 months without the common areas is crazy. I get the delays due to covid, I just don't get the increase. It says to click this button in the email to decline the office renewal, which I CLICKED. Following this point, I receive an email saying I am being locked out of my space because of unpaid late fees (roughly $1,000). The same fees that no one can get on the phone to discuss the mistakes on my account that are causing them. I go down to the front desk and explain the situation, he promises I will get a call from his Area Manager to fix the situation and lets me in. I tell him I am not renewing. Of course no call, but just an email argument with his boss, because she won't get on the phone to let me explain what has gone wrong on my account. I finally get her on the phone where she tries to just talk over me, not listen to a word I am saying, and act like a 6-year-old. This ends in a blowout. I call back and she actually listens and then tells me if I can send her an email showing the times I reached out without a response, she will reach out to Regus to have the fees removed. Of course, she did it in a very condescending voice while laughing. If she worked for me, she'd be fired. She confirmed this was my last month anyway on the lease and I told her I was moving my stuff out of the space. A week later I was locked out again for not paying the late fees, I was let in by the front desk and I moved all my stuff out, roughly 5 weeks before my lease ends.
Now I owe them for this current month and late fees which total $2,200. I planned on making that payment the first week of the month, even though they already have a 2-months security deposit of $2,100. Here is the best part of the whole story. I receive an email from corporate collections for a bill of $22,000. They said to reach out in 10 days to make a full payment or we will send you to collections. Beyond being baffled about what this is about, I immediately call the number and leave a message for the agent. Then follow up with an email. Guess what, 5 days later no response. Shocker. So I call again yesterday morning. Only to have this sinful person try and tell me I owe them $2,200 balance + the entire next year's agreement at the new rate. Blow away, I said, what are you talking about. I moved out over a month ago. I told the Area Manager and the Front Desk Attendant I was moving out months ago. Additionally, I didn't sign a new agreement. In fact, clicked the link in the email to decline a new lease. This rude female employee proceeds to tell me that it doesn't matter. If I didn't receive a confirmation email that the agreement was declined, I am auto-renewed into a new contract with new terms either way. And that It does this 90 days before the end of the new lease. I responded with the office has already been shown to a neighboring tenant I am friends with who is moving into it. Why would I pay for something I didn't renew, especially when someone else is now moving into it. They said read the terms and conditions, we have the right to do it and we're doing it. Then tells me she can settle for 20k now if I want. Mentioning everything above to her she tried treating me like a criminal. I have never in my entire professional career have ever seen a more ruthless scam. I expect this from small-time scam companies, not the world's largest office space renter. They are not leasing your space, they are leasing you a membership. This is how they SCAM you. Unless you know how to read through it, you're screwed. This is beyond deceptive. They are doing this to everyone. Not to mention during the worst financial and personal nightmare in American History.
They need to rectify this process/policy and train their people to handle these matters in a way that doesn’t alienate and bankrupt them! Now that I’m reading all of these complaints I am so disheartened that a company would be so comfortable doing this to so many people and are operating like this is policy and business as usual.
Desired outcome: Refunded for fees tacked on. Compensated for the items stolen. Issued my security deposit. Compensated for credit I never received. Auto renewal lease canceled.
Hey we are currently dealing with the same issue from the same location. Got a call from collections today for $25,000 and we had no idea any of this was happening in the background the last 2 years. We are beside ourselves. How can they expect us to fork out that much money?! Let alone something we didn’t renew. And on top of that this is a terrible year economically we are already trying to recover from. Hope this ended up getting resolved for you and there are actually nice people out there.
