Roto rooter cheat people with telling then that all they service is pay directly from insurance to lure them to easy accept they service. In my case they clean toilet water backup with tremendous overcharge, doing totally unnecessary wall openings. Effectively left me over $2,500 bill and additional damage to my property exceeding another $2,500 in after service repairs.
Do not use Roto Rooter for any service
Do not use Roto Rooter for any service. i had a broken release pressure valve on my water line that caused banging pipes. Roto Rooter fixed it but charged me $486 per hour of labor! Outrageous and unfair. I called the company and their response was that that was the going rate but I called other plumbers and they only charge about $100 per hour. They refused to give me a break. Further they charged me for the time it took them to run out to get parts. I would have thought they would have parts with them since I described the problem in great detail and they mentioned it was the RPVs. It turned out to be an over $1100 bill for the work! Call someone else.

Had a service call few days ago , the team solved my problem but were negligible about the finish part, leaving connecting pipes dirty at the inside and loosely screwed. A couple of days later the kitchen flooded as the pipe dropped out of the sinks outlet. I took half an hour cleaning, getting new insulation tape and tightly plugging the pipes back in place. For the $800 they charge, I could have expected a professional job. I'd like to get compensations *** I talked to a supervisor and but got unsatisfactory response please have someone call me back. Thank you
came to my house around January 15th and worked on my toilet because the toilet was clogged. He's a plumber . He charged me 2500$ , but now my toilet is still clogged and backs up when I flush it. I don't think he did $2500 worth of work, and I deserve at least a partial refund. My toilet is still clogged
On Dec 29, 2021 the plumber named *** came to my *** house and gave me a price of $469 to clean up the clog plus a camera inspection within few days. On Jan 21 a Roto Rooter worker did the camera inspection. He promised me that he would send the details about the inspection to my email address. He did not send the details even after a week has passed and despite my repeated text messages for the report. I called the company several times last week and talked to the customer *** . Today, Feb 1. 2022 when I called the company customer *** the representative and explained my issue but she said I need to to talk to the manager. The manager named *** called me back. He agreed there was a camera included in the price and the inspection was done as well. I asked for the report but he said there was no report. I asked what is the meaning and value of my having an inspection? This clearly is a deceptive manner of doing business. I need the report for which I paid. I paid $469 not just for snaking the plumbing line. Included in price is camera inspection and I want the report of the inspection or I want my money back.
Roto Rooter came to our house to fix a leak in the ceiling above our garage. The repairs were fine and we filed a claim with our insurance company. However, since that time (nearly 2 months ago), Roto Rooter has consistently failed to provide the necessary paperwork (photos, invoices, estimates) to us or to the insurance company so the claim can be closed and we can move to the next stage of repairing the 6 foot hole in our ceiling. The insurance company cannot close their claim until Roto Rooter provides these documents, and when we try to call or email, we either get transferred to some other office or get no response at all. This is incredibly frustrating, and the next step will be to call an attorney.
A technician came out to locate and repair a leak on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately the leak led to water damage (the damage was all unseen) and needed water remediation. *** told me the total cost would be between $10-15k, but advised us to write it up as $15-20k for insurance purposes. She also assured us multiple times that insurance would cover the cost. It was all so manipulativealmost by design. This is important because part of their service agreement holds the customer responsible for any costs not covered by insurance. She estimated repairs would be done by New Years Eve. In reality her team didnt finish until February 15th. We were unable to stay at the house during this time. On February 15th the main contractor had us sign a document stating the real total is actually $20-30k. Two days later we got a revised version of the same document stating the total is now $36k plus an additional $5k for mold remediation. This *** is unreal. They artfully charge for things twice. I.e. clean wall, apply chemical, vacuum wall. Just vacuuming the bathroom cost $350 to give you an example of their inflated costs. Each page is saturated with prices just as high. While repairs were being done we tried to inquire about pricing. *** said we maybe or probably would have to sign a change of scope at the end (aka price would go up) but would never confirm. Never telling us the price was changing. Never telling us why more work was being done just ripping more walls out, the ceiling out, the flooring out, the garage was torn out. They showed up at odd times including 8 pm one day and of course that showed up on the *** as 6 hours after hours $753. My husband just happened to be at the house for this. Im not sure if it happened multiple times. Bottom line is they are scamming people.
Called for advertised free estimate of repair of plumbing water leak and was charge $350
Called for advertised free estimate of repair of plumbing water leak and was charge $350. No written estimate was provided nor bill for $350 but a verbal estimate of $2400 was provided which was raised to $4300 dollars without water leak testing and the water leak site was shown to them in the area of the main water line into the house. I called to complain and they said that was the cost of finding the water leak and for using a shovel. They offered to fix the leak for $2400 dollars and include the deduction of the $350 dollars paid if agreed. I said no and they offered to discount the FREE estimate to $226. A different plumber fixed the leak for $975 total including concrete work.
While I'm *** is still awaiting Roto-Rooter plumbing to complete the job at my sister's *** home at *** .I received a bizarre email message from Complaintsboard.com of *** on Sunday at 5:45 AM August 15th , stating that they closed my complaint and that I didn't respond to them but they never contacted me so how can they illegally drop my complaint. Please fix this issue with Complaintsboard.com of MS because I have a *** for $10,600 for a job that was never completed and they need to please address my complaint. Roto rooter came to the house on Monday August 9th to inspect and stated that they would be back next week. I informed Roto-Rooter *** to call my sister *** with all issues as I *** work during the day. My complaint at this time is Complaintsboard.com of MS illegally dropping my complaint according to their email and they never contacted me.
Was charged *** to replace hose bib and main shut off valve. I am 69 years old and disabled and the perfect target to be taken advantage of. I had to use them because I had no water. When I checked out prices the next day I learned I was highly overcharged. Is there no protection for seniors in this situation? This is deplorable!$
Roto Rooter came out to property charged $380.00 and the toilet drained for a day . They came back out to fix it again and same issue . I called and explained I have no satisfaction and they have never called me back. Even though they warranty their work

I called and asked them to snake out my sewer line two weeks ago. they charged me $345 its only been two weeks it clogged again. I asked them to come out they want to charge me another $345. The last time they came, the entire time the guy told me I need to core out my sewer, and I told him I don't have the money to do that and all a sudden the sewer started to clear up magically. I had another plumber looked at my drain he said that the clog was not bad, there is no need to core out the drain. I had to get another plumber to core out my drain again, I would like Roto to reimburse me for the fee that I paid the first time as they didn't want to finish their job.
Work was performed (and paid for) under the City of Tempe, Arizona SLPP program. City supplied vendor, HSW RR Inc, dba Roto-Rooter Plumber, inspected sewer line from residence to City interceptor box to determine location of pipeline failure. HSW RR Inc. then determined that pipeline excavation and replacement was required. Pipe run to interceptor box was close to a property boundary block wall. Excavation was done and pipeline repairs made. Back-fill was done after pipe repairs. No complaint regarding pipeline itself repairs. Complaint concerns poor back-fill work. Property owner had to repeatedly add fill to the area of excavation as it continually settled over time. Above the excavation site is a gate used by the property owner to access alley trash bins. Since completion of pipe repairs, property owner has had to repeatedly adjust above gate as it would not close, becoming to tight to its latching pin on the property boundary wall. September property owner noticed the boundary wall masonry mortar was cracking and coming apart.Property owner contacted City of Tempe SLPP manager Wendy Springborn, She advised contacting Roto-Rooter. Chad Librizzi from Roto-Rooter of Glendale responded and visited property site in October . Property owner provided Chad with bids from masonry and fence contractors to make wall and gate repairs. Property owner visited the Roto-Rooter office on West Frier in January but Chad was unavailable. Property owner cannot access alley as gate appears to be holding up wall from collapsing.
I've been ripped off! I was babysitting my grandchildren at my son's house and put potato peels down the garbage disposal. My mistake and a very costly one. They were having a small gathering the next day for my grandson's birthday and really needed the sink. I told my daughter in law to call someone out and I would cover the cost. She called Roto Rooter. Big mistake! I expected to pay about $200 max. After looking at the clog, the supervisor came to me with an invoice to sign...$750 if they run a snake from the roof or $950 if they go under the sink. I was shocked and hesitated, but felt like I had to get this done and soon. They took advantage of my predicament and didn't even flinch at the cost. I reluctantly paid the $750 after only 20 minutes of work to complete the job. I've been sick over this! They e-mailed me a copy of my invoice and it had nothing itemized on it. It only had the date and the amount. Nothing explaining the work that was completed or the time it took to complete. I called around to several reputable plumbers in the area and they agreed, max I should have only paid $150. Product_Or_Service: Clogged Drain Order_Number:

Awaiting Roto-Rooter plumbing for my sister's home, an issue with Complaintsboard.com arose.
While I'm awaiting Roto-Rooter plumbing to complete the job at my sister's home, I received a bizarre email from Complaintsboard.com on Sunday at 5:45 AM August 15th, stating they closed my complaint due to my non-response, despite no contact from them. I need this issue with Complaintsboard.com of MS resolved, as I have a pending payment of $10,600 for an incomplete job. Roto-Rooter inspected the house on Monday, August 9th, promising a return the following week. I've directed Roto-Rooter to contact my sister for any matters, as I am unavailable during work hours. My current grievance is with Complaintsboard.com of MS for unjustly dismissing my complaint without prior communication.
I just spoke with a Christina in the corporate office. I explained to her that their technician busted my sewer pipe while rodding on 5/21. He didn't even tell me. Days later we found raw sewerage in my crawl space causing me and my family to relocate. This morning, we had another plumber come with a camera and they found the damaged pipe. Before I could fully explain the situation and how frustrated I felt, Christina continuously over talked me about how Roto Rooter is not responsible for "condition" of my pipe. There was nothing wrong with my pipe before the technician came. Not only am I frustrated about the broken pipe, I'm even more frustrated with Christina's lack of empathy and unwillingness to help. I think it's unfair for something like this to happen and the customer is left in the dark to pick up the pieces. Now I'm stuck with having to pay to fix a busted pipe and the sewerage cleanup in addition to the original sewer line repair. This experience has been draining and exhausting on me and my family. I just find it hard to believe that they can't offer any help in this situation. Christina refused to tell me who she reports to. She said she's in charge and any complaint would come to her. I guess she just shreds them as they come. I'm hoping to reach someone more compassionate.
Project Solutions (***) is a facility maintenance company and *** hired Roto-Rooter to fix a leak in a bathroom at its client, ***. *** has documentation of the work order with a not to exceed of $175. Roto-Rooter accepted this job and in doing so agreed to the *** terms and conditions. While onsite, Roto-Rooter attempted to shut off the water to *** client, ***. By error, Roto-Rooter instead shut off the water for another tenant of the building, Hobby Lobby (not an *** client). When Roto-Rooter was informed of the error by Hobby Lobby, they attempted to restore the water and in doing so broke the shut off valve for Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby then asked Roto-Rooter to repair the broken valve. Roto-Rooter repaired the valve and then completed it's work for *** ($175 minor plumbing repair). Subsequently, Roto-Rooter charged *** $3173.04, the cost of the repair to both *** client *** and the cost to repair the shut off valve that Roto-Rooter broke at Hobby Lobby. *** attempted to negotiate the bill and offered to pay the cost of the work done at *** but Roto-Rooter refused to split the invoice. Roto-Rooter has since turned the *** account over to collections. *** has attempted to explain the situation to the collection agency and has again offered to settle the debt for $175, the amount of the NTE on the work order for ***. *** terms and conditions state that Roto-Rooter is responsible for its own negligence, which clearly includes mistakenly shutting off the water at the wrong facility and breaking the valve when attempting to correct the mistake.

I was told they would do work and install a toilet for free
I was told they would do work and install a toilet for free. We discussed multiple times I didn't need to have it installed because my husband that has been working in tile and installing toilet would be able to do it tomorrow (Saturday which is why we had a new toilet here waiting for my husband) but he assured me over and over that since they had to take it off to root the line it was no big deal and they would install it for free. I only found out after the fact when I saw there written bill that they charged me 348.77 for installing it. They also claimed they would send cameras down the line and they did not. And in less then 12 hrs the line that was backed up was still clogged and I had to have them come back out to fix the problem they originally came for. They then accused me of sending things down the drain. After I was told they would not come back and fix anything they had worked on again without charging me. All of this was a misrepresentation of what they claimed they would do, and was an out right lie about there hidden billing.

On Dec 29, 2021, a plumber visited my home and quoted $469 for clog removal and a camera inspection within a few days. On Jan 21, a Roto Rooter worker performed the camera inspection. He promised to email the details, but failed to do so even after a week and multiple text reminders. Despite several calls to the company and discussions with customer service, I was told to speak to the manager. On Feb 1, 2022, the manager acknowledged the inspection but claimed no report existed. I questioned the purpose and value of the inspection without a report, deeming it deceptive business practice. I insisted on receiving the inspection report I paid for, as it was included in the initial fee, or a refund.
Roto Rooter charged me a $299 sewer pipe cleaning fee without performing a cleaning
Roto Rooter charged me a $299 sewer pipe cleaning fee without performing a cleaning. Initially I asked for a free estimate on cleaning or replacing sewer line invaded with tree roots. I was assured on the phone that the camera inspection and estimate would be free. The service tech came to my house and said that it would be $299 to clean tree roots if the problem was not more serious. I agreed to this. However, upon examining the sewer line, the tech recommended a sewer liner and no cleaning work was performed. I called customer service to ask why I was charged $299 and they put me on the phone with one of their accountants. She claimed that I agreed to the price for the inspection. I asked why I was told on the phone that the inspection and estimate are free. She said that their customer service representatives are not consistently trained. I asked if the $299 is their inspection fee. She said that the $299 is a pipe cleaning fee. I told her that there was no pipe cleaning performed and I was only given an estimate for a sewer liner. She said that if there was no cleaning performed then I would be entitled to a refund. She said she would contact the tech and call me back. It has been several days and no one has called me back.

Project Solutions, a facility maintenance firm, engaged Roto-Rooter for a plumbing job.
Project Solutions, a facility maintenance company, hired Roto-Rooter to fix a leak in a bathroom for a client. They have documentation of the work order capped at $175. Roto-Rooter agreed to these terms. Onsite, they mistakenly shut off water for another tenant, Hobby Lobby, not a client of Project Solutions. After being notified by Hobby Lobby, Roto-Rooter tried to restore the water but broke the shut off valve. Hobby Lobby requested a repair, which Roto-Rooter completed and then finished the initial job for Project Solutions. However, Roto-Rooter billed Project Solutions $3173.04 for both repairs. Project Solutions tried to negotiate, offering to pay for their client's repair, but Roto-Rooter refused to split the bill. The account was sent to collections. Project Solutions explained the situation to the agency and offered to settle for $175, the not-to-exceed amount for their client. Their terms state Roto-Rooter is liable for its errors, including shutting off and breaking the valve at the wrong location.

In my case they clean toilet water backup with tremendous overcharge, doing totally unnecessary wall openings.
