service and safety issue.. needs attention asap.
I was in Sally's beauty store 3 times this week, on 1431 old York road, and a employee/manger has raised my attention highly. There was a young child around age 6-7 sitting in the store while the parent was working. today Sunday 16th I purposely visited the store twice to see if this was true. The young child was sitting in a office in the back on a phone and kept calling for his mother. I asked a separate employee if this was a ongoing thing with the child being there, and she said it was. My concern Is for the kids safety, since it has sharp objects in the store yet a lot dangerous chemicals throughout the store. I really hope this matter gets looked into. As a child is in danger and shouldn't not be around such items and objects, yet alone be sitting in a store for 7-8plus hours a day. Please look into this matter. Thanks a lot
store closed before closing hours
As per the hours on the door the store is suppose to close at 9 pm and I got there at 8:50 and they were already closed. There was another customer waiting outside and she said she had been there for about 4min already and the doors were closed. The girl behind the counter was already counting her registered and said she couldn't help us. She refused to open the doors.

Every time I go to this store the manager is sitting in a chair behind the register playing a game on her phone. She is extremely rude when asking for assistance and does not know anything about hair. Her drunk boyfriend often hangs out in the store in the afternoons and makes me feel very uncomfortable. The best thing they could have ever done is hire the new girl Paula. Since she has been there she has cleaned up that store so much and is always very helpful. Products are now on shelves and the store doesn't look gritty and unorganized. She actually knows what she is talking about when it comes to hair also. Honestly the manager needs to be fired and they need more people like her in this store. Every time I go in she it's busy cleaning, stocking, or organizing, but will still take time to make sure you find what you need and actually educate you on what product is best and why.
district manager
Cruel district manager, Suzette Ramirez, calls employees stupid and implies that they are not pretty enough to work at Sally Beauty Supply. Trashes their hard work. Treats employees like they are garbage. She also has a lawsuit filed against her for discrimination and also is accused of threatening to strike the same employee. She is honestly an embarrassment.
edge control products
I visited my local Sally's to pick up edge control product. I could not locate it in the typical area. I asked cashier and was told that all of the products are behind the counter. The range of price for this item is between 3.99 - 9.99 based upon the manufacturer. I was told because the item is stolen frequently, it is now being placed behind the counter.
This is ridiculous that this item would be behind the counter with other products such as high end barber items Sally's should consider other measures to control inventory besides putting items behind counter. Certainly Target and Walmart also carry similar items and this is not a measure that these stores take. If this is how Sally's will continue to operate I will advocate for others to purchase all of our products elsewhere

Hello. On this past Memorial Day 2017, right before 3:00 pm, I entered the Sally's Beauty on William Cannon and 35 in Austin Texas to purchase 2 containers of Manic Panic hair color I was very excited to purchase this product as I have used it many times. I walked to the isle I expected to find the product as that is where it usually is in the stores . I noticed two females at the front counter as I walked in that didn't say" Hello" or "welcome to Sally's" or anything . In fact, they were talking about personal things and didn't seem as if they wanted to be at work.Since the display was completely empty, I asked if they discontinued the product. One female said in a very snobby way, "Um, no its right here." and pointed to a low shelf behind her. The color display that was empty had the hair color samples so I went off that and told her the colors I wanted. As I looked at the display she pointed to, the color I asked for had a color in the incorrect spot so as I asked to look at it, I pointed out that the color was in the wrong labeled spot. I then said, "This is not the right color. ( I am still on color one) She didnt apologize or offer to grab the correct color. She actually shrugged her shoulders and then put the red color back in the Hot Hot Pink spot that I wanted So since that color looked like there was nothing else on the shelf besides the wrong color, I asked if they were out of it. She then said, "Oh, I don't know"..and looked at the other female and giggled. I felt like I was not being respected as a customer or that I was getting any help. Then I asked if she thought maybe there was some in the back and she replied, " Oh I don't know, I'm not sure." So when i then asked if they would mind looking she literally said, "I don't feel like it." I was so shocked. So i said, "Okay well then let me please look at another color."I wanted the Hot Hot Pink and a Deep Purple or a blue. She made me feel like I was just in the way and sighed and made it extremely obvious that I was bothering them doing their job. Once I finally had another color handed to me they started talking their drama stuff again, and I looked at them both, set the color I was looking at along with some clips down, and said, "You know what, I will go somewhere else where I can get better service." She snickered and said, "Cool." I was very upset as I am a business owner, as well as a mother of 3, and know that the customer service I received was not right. I do not believe that I was treated fair and to be honest, it made me not want to step foot in a Sally's again. I would like to know that this complaint will not go unnoticed. The manager is a hateful person. She treats me and other customers as if we are inferior to her. She fussed at me in front of customers today 5-31-17 and raised her voice to me. She embarrassed me in front of her other employee and another customer. She doesn't deserve to be a manager and I seriously wonder what side-services she must be doing in order to keep her position. She is a horribly, mean woman. She is hateful to me every single time I go in this store. She is mad at me because two of her prior employees came to me to ask for jobs because they knew I owned a Merle Norman Salon/Spa and they hated their jobs.
sally beauty doesn't honor their sale advertised prices
Sally beauty supply is advertising a product as $0.00 but when I tried to order one I was talked down to and told I would have to pay $319.00 if I wanted one. I have screenshots of their sponsored company advertisements as this item as free. I called customer service option 1, they told me they couldnt help me and told me to call customer service option 2. I called customer service option 2 and the very nice lady I spoke to told me to call back option 1. I called option 1 back and they told me they cant help me again and gave me the number to equipment services. They told me to call the manufacturer. I called the manufacturer and explained the situation and they hung up on me! I went to the website and emailed the customer service email, and in 8 emails between us they were telling me that I need to call option 1 and tell them to link my procard with my account. My procard is linked to my account and it has nothing to do with the fact I am trying to order an item they have advertised on multiple platforms as free. They will not honor their advertised sale prices! My next steps are talking to the better business bureau and then finding a company that has competitive pricing that will honor sally's advertisements.
Theres even an advertisement of the item on the comolaints board as I typed this!

I am highly disappointed because multiple stores I have gone to, I was given specific instructions for my hair and I follow those instructions but the only thing is they are the wrong instructions because you guys hire people who are not licensed. I can't even begin to count how much money I have wasted in your stores. I'm not going to ask for a discount or money back but I would at least like a reply and maybe a change of staff so that people in the future I don't completely ruin their hair like I did. Not everybody has money to go get their hair done and it's a shame that people in your stores are giving those people wrong instructions and advertising products to use in their hair when really it should be another product. I went and professionally got my hair fixed today and the colorist's jaw dropped when I told them what your employees told my friends and I to do. Yes, my friends too. This has happened to multiple people and it's taking everything in me not to go in the store and scream at the lady who told me to basically ruin my hair. Thank you very much have a good night.
employees smoking at entrance
My family and I pulled up to the Sally Beauty Supply store in Layton Utah & looked up to see the three Sally's employees pictured below standing out front of the building. Two of the employees were smoking e-cigarettes & the third a "normal" cigarette. Not to mention the Utah Clean air act prohibits smoking of any kind within 25 ft of building entrances. Very uninviting & unprofessional. A very good way to loose customers.
I am a smoker and would go out the back door to smoke.. where there were no customers..I was told by district not to go out back...to keep the back door shut and smoke out front!
customer service overkill
To whom it concerns, I was at my local Sallys today, and have to be frank, I am upset how I was treated, I truly felt like I had police on me, and I was merely in the store 2 minutes if that, I was asked 4 times by employees if I needed help, did I find what I was looking for, then asked again twice by same girl. I understand customer service I have worked it over 30 plus years, but my god, I told them nicely I knew what I was looking for, I was fine, and was pretty much watched the entire time, every time I went down an aisle, one of the employees comes barreling down...asking if I need help . Let me SHOP Already!... if I need help I will ask! When I got to the register I stated, you ALL must be extremely bored or have a lot of shoplifters, one of the women says " yes, yes we do" told them all I felt like a criminal...almost didn't make my purchase because of it. So in short, customer service is a great thing, when the customer wants it...but dont shove it down my throat! I probably won't shop at that store even if its 2 minutes away, you don't make your PAYING customers feel like a thief!
bad customer service
I always go to the same Sally Beauty Supply on Mill Plain in Vancouver, WA. I have always received the best customer service, always friendly, and helpful in a nonjudgmental way. Until today! I walk into the store get "greeted" by a girl slumped over the counter and the girl was sitting in a chair leaning back behind the cash register. Typically when I shop there, the employees go around asking all the customers if they need help finding anything. Not them! They were deep in some dramatic conversation. As I come up to the counter, the girl laying her top half over the counter, points to the other girl and says "she'll help you." Then the girl sitting in the chair gives a half eye roll and gets up. She says literally nothing to me, rings up my hair dye, and says "that'll be $8.75." So I say, "Um, im a rewards member..." and she goes "oh what's the number" in an uncaring, monotone way. So I gave her my number and it saved me about $1.50! Which I wouldn't have saved if I hadn't said anything. She then put my product in a bag, slapped the receipt on top, then held it out for me to take. I then took the bag, put the receipt inside, and says "have a nice day!" In my sarcastic tone. Then the girl slumped over then counter says "oh you have a good day too." In an also uncaring way. Worst customer service ever! I would have asked for their manager, but heaven forbid if one of them were the manager!

I made a hair dye purchase on my debit card. I swiped my card, entered my pin and the card machine said approved. The girl behind the counter claimed the system had a glitch and it didn't process. She told me to get my product I would have to swipe my card again. She said if it duplicated the charge I could come back and they would refund my money. I went ahead and swiped again, entered my pin again, received my product and went out to my car. I checked my mobile banking app, and sure enough, I was charged twice for my purchase. I immediately went back into the store and showed them the duplicate charges, expecting a refund on the spot. I was told "to bad, there was nothing they could do for me, I would have to file a complaint with my bank", which I did. Your people are inadequately trained and extremely rude. I'll find somewhere else to make my purchases in the future. I may only represent the loss of one customer but imagine how many more there actually are.

I have been going to Sally's for a few years. The staff is kind helpfully friendly and courteous! and clean. They have a lot of good well stocked merchandise. I visited Sally's on Saturday March 18th at 12 noon a in the same location of Reisterstown Road Plaza . As I approached the store is noticed a sign on the door saying the worker or Manger would return in 15 minutes. I was already their 45 minutes. This is unacceptable behavior of the worker or mangement. I was very disappointed that I was unable to make my purchase. If this continues I will no longer going there.

I honestly rather be writing something positive instead of negative about the female employees that get hired at sally's beauty' supply, I mean it's just not one particular store but several that I have walked into and
1. Do not greeted
2. Only get asked if I need cuz they seem to judge you making me (The customer) feel like they think im going to steal something!
3) they have no knowledge of products nor can they even suggest any.
4) standing at the register making you feel rushed is what yhey accomplish anytime ive been there
5) and so you wonder... ? Is there a manager here? Yup there is and forget about the situation getting any better because when you see the manager you know exactly what tree those bad apples fell from!
With that being said let me share some important information with you sally beauty supply but the market out there is too competitive for your legacy to be having such horrible team players working for you! I rather go to a little asian hair supply shop or honestly go online and wait two days for my products because the competition out there is so competitive that you're going to end up losing out a lot if you don't go in there and start doing some secret shopping and really see what your company is hiring but most importantly the service that they're giving, i'm just saying… I hate to see sally's go out but that's exactly where it's heading and you might want to look at the price difference too because you are a lot more expensive! You might want to put out more sales or lower your prices because you've gotten really expensive! I hope all things work out god bless.
lack of training
I work at Sallys. I love it. I'm learning a lot. But most of the training I've had to wing it. But because I'm pretty smart I do ok. I've learned hands on about hair colour, and can assure you my clients leave happy. I go above and beyond to help them. It's a job that if you are savvy enough, you can do, this But I love what I do and I love helping the guest in our store. They are not a customer they are my guest. I've seen women come in crying because some professionals have destroyed their hair, I give them the best advice what to do, and some have returned to thank me. It makes me happy to do, this for them. Sallys is a geat place to work. And if some guests have had a bad experience. Then I can only assume the person helping them didn't go above and beyond. Treat them as you wanted to be treated
online order
On 12/16/16 I made an online order because I found a $10 off sale on a gigi wax warmer and with the purchase was promised honee all-purpose wax and large applicators for free with the purchase and I also paid for a warranty and muslin roll. I waited till January 25th to receive the product, which was incredibly long, and then didn't receive half of the products. The invoice I received with the shipment said that 2 of the most important items were not in stock and did not specify whether or not I would be refunded my money, and so I contacted customer service and found out that I was given to 2 of the free products and I was shipped those items and never given even a note stating what I was charged for and that the warmer and roll would be cancelled from the order. Now I have to go find them in a store and won't receive the discount, which was the only reason I made the purchase.

I worked at Sallys for two years and for those two years I have had 4 managers which were all young and not qualified to run a store, they will hire anyone off the streets when they are desperate. The first manger I had was young and hired her best friend moved her up to 40 hours when I was hired for 40 hours and I had to work my a## off for those hours my manager told me so I did then she and her friend ended up quitting, then they hired this guy who was out for just money was really rude and quit, the third manager was a ex drug addict and bi polar and really mean to us employees we tried talking to our district manager about it multiple times over the years and she did nothing, she would talk about drugs with us call us nasty names was lazy, did nothing at all but sit in the back and eat food and talk about the dugs she did.
And our fourth manager was absolutely horrible, me and this other employee worked out a##ES off to move up in OUR store and our old manager wrote a paper saying that one of us would take over to be manager but instead they transferred a girl over to be manager and she ended up transferring two of her best friends over also' we tried to complain but they told us to #### off pretty much and it was pure hell' those three talked ####, they didn't do anything but break all the rules and act like queens, we did all the work while they say on there a##ES talking ####. We went to HR and Employee Concern line about her, because she bullied one of the employees for a month, then called another employee a B#### to her face and we told our DM and she didn't do ###, instead she just made us work with her. So with us 3 original employees trying for months to get someone to just help us, we all ended giving up and one girl quit the job she loved, the other had to transfer from her home store to another store and well me my manager ####ed me over and got me fired for nothing. This company is thee most twisted, most exhausting, most F###ed up place I have ever worked for in my life.
A day before Christmas Eve I got a voice mail from my manager saying I was suspended until further noticed, so two weeks later without ANYONE talking to me or having me come in the store and write A statement or anything like that, I had to find out by a completely different MANAGER that I was fired. Not once did my manager, my DM or The head guy DAN contact me or talk to me or let me tell my side of the story or let me write a statement or anything, they litterarly left me in the dark for two weeks with out knowing anything then I have to find out from a different manager I'm fired? Lol for what? For NOTHING! This company is so unprofessional and will screw you over. They let immature high school kids run a store as manager and no one is adult enough to talk to you in situations like mine, I would not recommend working here. It's awful! And a awful experience.
I was recruited to Sallys about 7 months ago. My original Regional Manager was wonderful and helped me throughout training. Was always available. About 3 months into this job as a District manager they fired my RD then hired this other guy who was completely cocky. He is sexist, makes rude comments about the stores and the company. I spoke to a couple of my managers about his behavior towards them. Within 2 weeks I was fired! I've never even been written up! The Reason was poor work performamce. I had to dig this district out of the gutter when i first started and we had been #1 in the Region recently. I made complaints to HR the employee concern line and the VP. Everyone sided with this jerk because he was friends of the VP! Watch your back with this company!
missing item is still missing
Several months already passed and I'm still waiting for the missing item and every time when I contact Sally Beauty I get nothing but empty promises. I ordered 5 products from this online seller and received only 4 items. Their rep said that last item was no longer in stock and promised they'll contact the manufacturer and ship my item. Their rep was nice to me and very polite, but unfortunately he wasn't able to help me.
Recently I sent a refund request and I hope they'll give my money back. Very poor service.

I worked for Sally's, I can say it is the worst company I have ever worked for. They treat there employees like trash . When I 1st started I had the best Manger ever well they transfered her to another store. After that it all went down hill and got so bad. We got a new store Manger that called me lazy rasits and stupid . Well to find out she stole almost $5, 000 Wirth of stuff and tried to blame in on me and others . She would clock in and leave all day. I would run the store by myself. She was taking money out of the register everyday and telling me I don't know how to count. Finally they caught her after about 10 different times I called home office and the District Manger. I thought it would stop then oh no, the stand in Manger changed my time took my time that I worked away. Called me a lair she had not been there even 2 weeks and gave me a bad review only because she was the best friend of the store Manger that got fired. This new Manger would change the schedule and not tell anyone. Then we would get wrote up for being late, I have been told I could not got to my appointment`s even when it was 40 minutes after I got off of work, because I needed to stay there and help train the new store Manger. I only was making $8.00 a hour really don't think so. I was so stressed I was loosing weight and my hair. I was sick to my stomach daily. DON'T EVER GO TO WORK FOR SALLY'S AT ALL YOU WILL WISH YOU NEVER HAD. They owe me money for hours worked they they don't want to pay for plus when my mom died they were suppose to pay me and now they still have not.
