I have emailed and called for the past month regarding a 2015 tax IRP5/ITR12 that was not correctly submitted by Sanlam. Initially when I spoke to a consultant, they informed me that the Tax team would be done with recons by the 30th of October but to date I have received no feedback of my recon being completed.
Recently I called and a consultant ‘Lethabo’ informed me that she has asked tax manager Shamima Abdul(apologies for any wrong spellings) to escalate the matter because it’s taking longer without no updates on the process to recon a document from 2015
Please assist urgently, this case is long overdue

Funeral policy
hi, on the 21st November 2022 I laid complaint about my sister pass away and only to find out that her funeral policy elapsed all the necessary claim forms was done. After 17 year of paying every month and she not her self, the policy elapsed Sanlam came back and ask for id number and then told me that their was no Policy. They sent me documents to full in what I did and return them after number of email no one came back to me I will never advice Sanlam funeral policy to any one.

I am writing concerning the way I have been handled by you our service provider. I am a long-time client of Sanlam. I was recruited to subscribe to Sanlam and the language the agents used was irresistible to join. I subscribe to two products: team builder and "Pamaja." with a deposit of 7 million. I'm a police officer and you know what hell we go through.
Over the time, I have never had any partial withdrawals but, I have gotten a very big issue which required me to have my 50 per cent withdrawal, to my dismay it has taken two weeks without me getting any feedback, when I went to the Gulu branch, I was assured that any time I would get paid. I happened to get some documents related to my savings. I was restricted from taking my 50 per cent as provided by your policy. Therefore why must I have no reasons to surrender?

procedure for payout of policy
I was contacted late in 2021 to be informed that I have a small policy to be payed out in March of 2022. Of course I immediately enquired as to what the procedure was.
Was told to wait until they contact me again for all information. This happened in February 2022. Was asked to provide copy of ID, marriage certificate and banking details with the completed form that was sent via email.
All of this done now I anxiously await my money. Then 2 weeks later I am told the ID is not clear enough to please send another. I did. And once again 2 weeks later was told still not clear please send another.
With this I went into a Sanlam branch in Boksburg where the lady in front assisted me. She helped me to phone their head office on an in office line where I spoke to a Mariska. She confirmed that all that was outstanding was the ID copy. The assistant made copies and forwarded to the head office.
Received a email a few days later stating that it is still not clear enough. Took a photo on my phone and sent all documents again vie cell phone email. By this time date of completion was set for 01 June 2022.
This morning I opened a email asking for complete divorce papers of which I sent the decree 3 months prior. I mean It was in 1997. Really.
Now the date has been extended again to 13 June 2022.
This is unacceptable.

On the 8th of December I called Sanlam Kimberley to speak to a manager. The lady who answered - said that all their management is already on leave and nobody would be able to assist me. I was then referred to the call centre. Since then I emailed and call them on a daily basis without joy. The request is straight forward but nobody seems to know what they should do. They promised to call me back the same day but nothing. I spoke a Fund Specialist last week - he promised to call me within 24hours but a week passed nothing. Yesterday I call again to speak to him - all of a sudden he is not available - another lady answered - she promised to call me back before COB yesterday - since then nothing. Pls help me to get somebody who can assist me with the withdrawal request on my RA with them. The amount is R72000 so not sure if they do not know how to process this request and if Sanlam does not have the money to pay my proceeds?

Sanlam requested tax directive from SARS last year, yet they still haven't done the tax return which has now prevented me in submitting mu annual returns, and when I contact their call center they even have no idea what needs to be done. Firstly how can they do a directive from the previous tax year 2021, then pay me a the following tax year which is 2022. then they send a email saying the contact center has advised that they have contacted me and the matter is getting the attention, whereas no one has even tried to call me.

I don't understand how sanlam sky has got a right to debit my money, without my consent, I believe that if I reverse a premium it mean I don't afford it anymore, it doesn't mean I owe you, so I would like to get my refund back, thats my money not your money, cancelled or not cancelled.

Direct axis loan
Took out a loan with Sanlam Sky / DirectAxis with credit protection to pay for my daughters first year at university. Due to Covid I was retrenched and continued paying the loan till it was no longer financially viable. Was informed that I cannot claim on the credit protection as they take my retrenchment date into account and not the date I stopped paying the monthly premiums. I get told I need to follow the stipulated complaints route which I did (and still doing. I get auto replies from gbcomplaints@sanlamsky.co.za stating that I (complainant) will receive the details of the person who will be investigating your complaint within the next 24 hours. I have as yet NOT received a single call, sms, WhatsApp or email with any details and despite sending two additional emails (Three in total) still get the same auto reply and still no details. Then I start receiving phone calls from Norman Bisset Attorneys stating they are acting on behalf of Sanlam DirextAxis and want the money and if I do not pay additional charges will be levied. This despite me following the stipulated process and being within the stipulated time frames. One the credit policy seems to have been a scam. Two the complaints process is flawed to say the least. Three Norman Bisset is appointed all whilst the stipulated process is being followed, another money making scam and then to top it all off I receive an email stating my credit policy has been cancelled.. Sanlam only advised me on the 25 August 2020 the the claim has been repudiated and I have 90 days to appeal. I am trying to appeal without any success as no one is replying to me.

I've been communicating with Ashlinn Thaker but now she is not responding on my e-mail including her boss Jo-Ann Horsban. The money is still not deposited into edgar's card since December 2017. We couldn't buy Christmas clothes for Amahle because the money was not deposited. We are not happy about your bad service. We want the money to be deposited as soon as possible.

I have been trying to add beneficiaries on my funeral plan since last year however, till to date it has not been finalised as yet. Whenever I send emails nobody replies to my emails. I have sent previous correspondence complaining similar case, and nothing seems to have been done.
I send emails to check the status my case however nobody replies to my emails. If resolving matters like these its this difficult, I wonder how long will it takes whenever I'll have to claim.
It is important for your organization to be customer driven otherwise you'll loose your competitive advantage over your competitors who takes customer service more serious than you do.
Endeavouring to wind up a deceased estate
Sanlam is the Executor of our Late Mothers' Estate. She was a client with ABSA for many years. We are told by Sanlam that ABSA is not providing the required information to their Deceased Estate Department in order for the Estate to be wound up. Is there a reason for this? Sanlam also advised us that ABSA is undergoing computer upgrade systems and this is the reason why clients have to wait?

I submitted my claim to sanlam sky I even had to fill in the forms twice I had to pay 2doctors to fill in the forms then when I finally submit the forms I receive a phone call to say that my claim would take 10days to be processed then after 12days I decide to phone and they tell me my claim hasn't been processed because the doctors report didn't declare me permanently disabled so now my claim won't be paid out however not once in a 5year period was this ever explained to me but now that I have to claim they come up with this technicality.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
They also did the same thing to me, those people are doing their own things there and when they must pay back it becomes a challenge they are disorganized and that ruins their name, I'm very upset with the service they are giving, it not up to standard they are covering their families with our money
Refund of premiums
I have taken a funeral plan from Sanlam Sky insurance to insure my mother, I discovered after 10 months that the person who is insured in the policy is not my mother but an unknown person and I immediately asked sanlam to cancell the policy and refund me all premiums I paid on the policy. Sanlam cancelled the policy but refuses to refund me saying the problem on my policy was their capturing error but not a fraudulent act as I had alleged on my affidavit. I therefor am not satisfied with their reasons not to refund me and I feel I deserved to be refunded the premiums because the policy was at the end of the day not the product I was sold and bought and was a sanlam mistake

SanlamSky's service is very poor, they don't communicate effectively with their clients and they are good with empty promises. I have 2 policies with them, I was suppose to get a refund from one of the policies I send the claim form with the wrong policy number unaware, I was expecting a refund within 48 hours, I had to call after 5 days to check what could be the delay that's when I found that I send wrong infor, I send the correct one immediately, but still after 2 weeks am still waiting when I call all consultants I speak to they say they don't know the reason for the delay they will escalate the matter and call me back. They never call back, am still waiting even now after 2 weeks. Now I have doubts that the policies will pay on time if I happen to have a funeral, God forbids, hence am cancelling the policies with immediate effect.

Ive joined sanlam in 2007 and only received my contract but since that time i haven't received any letters from sanlam, I mean we are used to receive letters from a policy but this one just feel so weird not receiving anything.

I took a policy ( hospital plan with healthcor which is now called sanlam sky in 2008. In 2011 I was admitted in hospital twice and I claimed for my hospital plan and it was never paid out. I now want my money back and I also want to cancel this policy.

DEDUCTIONS ON MY SALARY
I took two policies with Sanlam in June 2009 they were suppose to deduct from my bank account but they never did, in January 2010 back from my annual leave I saw deductions from my salary I immediately contacted the call centre & was told that the policy was never taken so I was told to fax a covering letter, ID copy, bank statement in order to get a refund, they will stop the deductions of which I did.Up until now my money is deducted & everytime I call they tell me to do the same thing.
I don't know what to do anymore pls I need advice.I even went to their offices in Bellville, Cape Town they promise to sort this out but they are still deducting.

I keep getting mail - presumably confidential - for an individual who does not live at my address. Numerous times I have returned it to sender. As the mail looks important, I thought I would email you on 01 October about the problem. On 02 October I got an automatic reply to say that you would be in contact with me. It is now nearly a month later and I have heard nothing from you.
Surely this is an issue you should respond to promptly. I am trying to assist both you and this individual but it seems that you just don't care.
I have done my job as a concerned citizen. I am just very surprised at your lack of interest.
That's just how they are, they don't take customer service seriously I wonder if they have a customer relations manager, their service is very poor, they don't reply to emails.
