We are in process of moving from Denver Co to Arpino Italy. We contacted a number of freight companies and received a few bids. The salesperson from Schumacher "sold" us by saying that they were reputable and we only pay the the space you use. not the weight. We used Schumacher's volume calculator determine the approximate volume we need to ship. We had included of 250 Cubic Feet - The quote was about $6k. Schumacher lies via omission. The salesperson never said that there is added waste space that we have to pay for. Our actual shipment is 225 cubic feet as we opted not to take a sectional sofa and a bookcase. If anything our estimate should have been reduced. But Schumacher raised our Cubic Ft to 3000 saying there is wasted space on the pallet etc, That is a 36% increase in volume ! Now they want me to pay $1300 more! Schumacher has our stuff and they can make up all kinds of documents to prove their case - but we are screwed as we cannot prove they are lying. When they deliver our goods I can remeasure everything - but I have to pay them off first. SCHUMACHER CARGO IS A SCAM HOUSE!

Move furniture / household goods from Port Chester NY to Brisbane Australia
Dear Sir/Madam,
We moved to Australia last April 2022 and contracted with Schumacher Cargo Logistics 550 W 135TH St, Gardena, CA 90248 Tel [protected] to move our furniture from Port Chester, NY to Brisbane, Australia. I fully realize it was in the middle of the Covid epidemic and due to cargo ship delays our original quote of approximately $6695.00 door to door increased to almost $18000 which I believe is too exorbitant. And we still didn’t receive our furniture until Sept 2022,. and, as a result, we also paid about $600x6 per month/$3600 for storage and $400 per month to rent furniture here in Brisbane.
I fully understand that some of the added expense were unavoidable due to Covid supply & demand economics (3x’s more!?), but my complaint is Schumacher promised us in their contract “ door to door delivery” and we were still charged another $4000 for clearing customs in Australia and final delivery to our apartment by another Australian moving company. The original door to door quote was also supposed to cover putting together our furniture but we had to pay an additional $550 for a handyman to reassemble our furniture that was again supposed to be included in the Schumacher Logistics contract. (see attached above)
So, I don’t know if we are entitled to any compensation but I want to go on record to complain that Schumacher Logistics’ price quote was not only deceptive but you outright lied about “door to door” delivery and it cost us at least $ 7000 in additional expenses. I have written to your manager previously and have not gotten a reply forcing me to ask for government assistance. Hopefully, this can prevent another consumer from being take advantage of by Shumacher Logistics and you are penalized for your/thisdeceptive practice.

2 month delayed shipping and exscessive charges
Never use this company the lie and cheat. I was overcharge shipping my car from USA to Dubai. After paying $4,000 USA I saw many other shippers only charged $2,500 USD so check arounf before using them. Plus my shipping was delayed 2 months they said "
The shipping line has informed us that the boat your vehicle is booked on “Liberty Passion V. 42” is being taken out of the Middle East rotation, all cargo will be automatically rolled to our next vessel which is the Liberty Promise V. 98. The estimated time of depart is on September 15th, 2022 and the estimated time of arrival into port Jebel Ali is on October 23rd, 2022. The shipping line will provide 21 days free storage. Thereafter port storage fees will apply @ $3.50 per unit per day once the free time expires. We apologize for the inconvenience
THEY LIED Christian Mauger forgot to get my EIN number when I submitted the application and as a results my car missed the ship and I had to rent a car for 2 additional months. Now they will not return my calls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

Car Shipping Back to USA
I was happy with the service when I had my vehicle shipped to Dubai from the USA in July 2020. I was told shipping it back to the USA would be even easier. I am working with the came Schumacher Cargo rep, as well as rep on this side of the globe.
I have never been treated with such disregard by the Schumacher sales rep. This time around I have to keep sending multiple requests for information. The last straw came a few hours ago with an unprofessional email written to me after I had followed up again that I need to once again fork over an additional $1000. It looks very suspicious. Due to his unresponsiveness where I have to do all the work for him, this is now the 2nd time I have to pay additional. This is the 2nd time my vehicle has been stuck at port and I have had to pay a huge chunk of money, now totalling over $1650! That is on top of the Roll on Roll Off cost of $6000! To me this is not legit, it is sketchy, and I will take this as far as I need to to get refunded, as I have had to spend money on a rental vehicle when I could have still been driving my own.
This is the worst service I had experienced in my life, especially while trying to tie things up to move internationally again, on my own.
I will not recommend Schumacher for shipping until the right thing is done to rectify the situation.

After much prodding by sales men after I inquired to rates and schedules, placed the order to ship my 2012 Equinox from Jamestown, TN to Valencia Spain on 22 May 2012 to Ron Turnage, salesman in Houston.

The car was located at 1515 Perimeter Drive, Jamestown, TN 38556. Schumacher quoted the pick up charge at $999. We agreed as part of the quote of $3500--complete pickup, shipping and roll off in Valencia Spain.
Paid $3500 by check as no Credit Cards allowed on 4 June 2021.

After no communication about the vehicle and many emails and texts gone unanswered as to the nature of the delay, we were informed by Ron Turnage, that the Company was waiting to fill the container. While the estimate provided originally to file a shared container was one week to ten days, finally at 6 weeks and 3 days we decided to just cancel the shipment. The actual shipping on the open seas was schedule for 4-8 weeks with a warning it could take more, we are not to be in Spain long enough to have a car not even begin the journey in August and arrive by Christmas.
As we are in Spain, we wrote many many times to have the vehicle delivered to our family in Stephens City, Virginia, 22655. Finally, after speaking with the Warehouse Manager in New Jersey, Carol Speirn, she managed to get the car schedule for pick up and delivery back to Regina O'Brien in Stephens City, Virginia. 103 Big Limb Lane. 22655.
The cost of returning the vehicle to Virginia was offered at $499. We did not trust the company to get the vehicle to us in Spain, so agreed to this amount.
The car was delivered to Virginia. It arrived 9 August.
I have emailed and texted as many people in the company as I can to get the remainder of our $3500. I accept that it is not our fault that the car was not shipped, but accept that in Cancelling we will need to pay the $999 for pickup and the $499 for delivery back. Those services were provided by subcontractors. As nothing but a few pieces of paper were used for quote and organizing pickup and delivery, I believe my husband and I are owed $2002. No work or scheduling occurred to fill the container we were promised, nor of even trying to schedule a vessel, nor of any of the tasks in that $3500 quote and subsequent payment related to actual shipping on a vessel nor all the tasks involved in roll-off. But no one will discuss this and I am at my wits end.
All of these tasks did not occur nor was communication forthcoming once there was pickup and payment.

I have just now from Spain left a message with the CFO. I can not determine which address I should use if I am forced to file a claim in Tennessee courts to get this resolved. I originally was working with Ron Turnage in Houston, Ivette Martinez in Houston, and Carol Sperin in New Jersey.
My husband and I are both veterans and have come out of retirement to serve our armed forces overseas. We do not expect favors or preferential treatment, just what is fair and just. This matter is neither.

International car shipping
I strongly advise against using this company service.
Used them in 2015. Everything went fine in the beginning.
Good customer service, advisible agent and everything was smoothly prepared.
The chaos began when the car was shipped. They totaly lost control of the shipment.
Car was shipped to different port then agreed with a big delay and all additional costs were passed to me.
Changing port destination resulted in
- higher port costs
- additional documentation cost (T1 documents)
- additional transportation fees by land to another country
- delay in time
- documents lost for a couple of days
- lots of stress
After changing the port destination they did not even have a reliable company to take care of the transport.
They changed it after realizing it will cost them a little bit more money. This resulted in documents being stucked.
The documents deliver was delayed because of Schumacher poor and cheap handling which resulted
in again me having to cover additional costs.
I had to chase the transpor vendors by myself and track my car documents to find out that they sent it with regular cheap mail...
The car delivery to customs needed to be delayed thenas I needed to get the documents first...
Car secure parking costs for a couple of days were passed to me again.
Car delivery took them 3 months in total.
After many complains they agreed to cover some of the additional costs but NEVER DID just ignored my further complains.
Amateur handling.
After the car is shipped they do not care anymore and will only think about reducing their costs at the expense of the client.

Thousands of $'s in extra charges
Used an international mover in UK who outsourced to Schumachers Cargo Logistics, they added thousands of $'s in hidden charges, that I was not informed about, never approved. They are refusing to deliver my belongings until I pay theses invoices. There is a word for this BLACKMAIL, isn't that a federal law here in the USA? Never in my life had to deal with anything so, unprofessional, unorganised, very worried as they have my worldly belonging, and they won't tell me where they are, sure that's also theft, right?

Like many others who have posted complaints here about Schumacher Cargo Logistics in Gardena, CAlifornia, my story is eerily familiar as the stories I read - down to the details-
Shipping car with contents
Car arriving late
Contents not in car
Having to pay extra if I want my personal items
When contents arrive many are damaged or plain missing
Schumacher putting the blame on the "other" agent
Me, the client, constantly writing and calling Schumacher and getting no response
Finally, in frustration contacting the Better Business Bureau for help
BBB is ignored as well, then, after continual writing to have "me contact them-Schumacher-
Contact Schumacher trying to resolve the issue in good will - this after a year of trying-
Still nothing
Contact Schumacher again, nothing, not even acknowledgment that they have received my e-mails, copies of documents, photographs of damaged good, detailed lists of what was missing, etc.
Contact Schumacher again, begging at this point to at least acknowledge receipt of my documents
Get a reply back "that because of the time passed, the best Schumacher can do is offer me 500 dollars"... for the record, it was not me who took the time to respond but Schumacher.
Wrote back to Schumacher telling them what I told the agent about the value of the items in my car (between 7 and 10, 000 euros and many items were irreplaceable. ) I was even told that it the problem would have never happened had I not put the items in the car (this after they -Schumacher- knew and even saw the contents in the car)
No reply from Schumacher.
Contact the Better Business Bureau, again, asking for arbitration. Told arbitration will only work if Schumacher agrees to do it.
Filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the California Consumer Protection Agency.
Still nothing from Schumacher.
I paid $3, 205 dollars to have my car shipped from Barcelona to Los Angeles, then an additional 2+K to have my things shipped, then an additional 350 to have them delivered to my house (whatever there was left), I have lost over a year trying to deal with this, lost about 10K in goods...
...and Schumacher? Silent as they ever were. As I said to them on a fax "Schumacher is acting as if I am ignored long enough, I will go away."... It has been a total nightmare and what is worse, they will get away with it like they have with the others who have posted on the forum as well.

Contact the California Insurance Commission, that will get the ball rolling for you . Better Business Bureau is only for the Merchants . Been there, done that, got the T-shirt ! By the way I am starting to experience the same with Schumacher Cargo Logistics . I'm shipping a motorcycle to Germany and they (Schumacher) will not answer e-mails I've sent for two weeks now . It took me calling them to finally at least acknowledge they recieved the motorcycle . Now it's a waiting game !

The invoice was 1805 $ and was paid in 16 of july 2009.The car arrived in 4 of september 2009(one month later) and they do not release my car if I will not pay app.1500 $ more.

Hi Daniel, The charges you faced upon arrival in Spain are port fees/terminal handling charges and unloading fees that are payable to the agent who acts on your behalf. These are not included in the ocean freight charges that we quote you and its stated on your quote that we do not include them. We make sure all clients are aware of this at the time of booking. The time frame in getting your vehicle on the ocean is based on having 3 cars ready to load in the same container. This is the rate you were offered and the one you accepted. Sometimes this can lead to delays in getting the cars moving, but it is also the nature of consolidation and that's why the rates are competitive. To control the time-frame clients usually pay more to have less cars in the container or ship their vehicle in its own 20' container. This does cost more, but its easier to manage the time frame and your expectations. We do apologize for any inconvenience caused during the process and we strive to ship our clients vehicle as soon as possible.
