I recently purchased a pair of TV headphones from Sharper Image for my husband, but unfortunately, they did not work as advertised. The headphones were supposed to send the sound through the headphones, while the TV was supposed to be silent. However, this was not the case, and the TV still made sound. Additionally, the volume knob on the headphones did not work at all.
When my husband called the customer service number provided in the written pamphlet enclosed with the headphones, he was met with an aggressive representative who tried to scam him into giving her his credit card information. She claimed that he needed to pay a $2.00 shipping fee to receive a $100 gift card for his "inconvenience." This was clearly a scam, and my husband refused to give her his credit card information. She eventually hung up on him when he would not comply with her demands.
My husband then called a different number and was informed that the item did not work the way we thought it did, despite the description on their website. We were told that we could return the item, but when I tried to do so online, I encountered several issues. The website had a long video on all the details on how to return the item, but the key was that when your order number pops up, it's supposed to pop up a return item box to click on. Without that box to click on, you can't go any further. Unfortunately, there was no Return button, even though I tried to go through the process many times.
When I called customer service (both numbers), I got an automated menu. I pushed the button to get a customer service representative or to discuss "returns" (I tried it both ways), but all I got was static. There was no recording, no person, etc. Nothing. This was extremely frustrating, and I felt like this business needs to be run out of business! They should at least have to change their name.
I thought Sharper Image was a good company, but I was sorely wrong. I wish I had done research on the company ahead of time, but I did not know it went through bankruptcy years ago. I just learned that when I did a search due to the problems described. With the Sharper Image name, I didn't think I needed to research it!
In conclusion, do NOT ever order from this company, and spread the word. I'm out $96, and I don't want anyone else to have to go through this frustrating experience.
Beware of Sharper Image: Dishonest and Unhelpful Customer Service, Only One Gift Card Per Purchase Allowed
So, I recently ordered a vertical bicycle stand from Sharper Image as a gift for my friend. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they offer such items, as I haven't thought about Sharper Image in years. The store that they had in downtown Fort Lauderdale closed a very long time ago. Anyway, I ordered the bicycle stand for $99, and it arrived within a reasonable amount of time. I haven't tried it out yet because it is a gift, but it came with a $25 gift card.
After seeing some other things on their website that I liked, I decided to order three more items. Each item came with a $25 gift card, and each item offered a 20% cashback. So now I have four $25 gift cards and four cashback awards, totaling over $150.
However, when I tried to order a man's wallet for $70, I was disappointed to find out that I could only use one of these gift cards or cashback amounts per purchase. I was not happy about this and asked to speak to someone in customer service who had the authority to make a decision. Unfortunately, I was transferred to someone who seemed to be reading from a script and wasn't very helpful.
I tried calling again the next day, but customer service was closed. When I finally got through, I was told once again that I could only use one gift card per purchase. This is completely unsatisfactory, and I am considering sending everything back to their store.
Be careful when ordering from Sharper Image. They are dishonest and do not disclose that only one source of credit can be used per purchase until you have already called to order. They do not deserve any positive reviews and should have negative stars. I have read many reviews on this site and completely agree. This company is a scam, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were working with the Russians or Chinese. It's no wonder their retail stores have closed!

The Sharper Image Gel Memory Foam Pillow - what a pain! This product is not comfortable at all!
Me and my hubby bought two of these pillows from our local Sam's Club more than a week ago. At the beginning, and even though they stunk a lot, they seemed to be working fine (at least for my hubby). The cooling system was doing its thing, but for some reason the memory foam seemed to be too thick and hard to provide any kind of head and neck comfort. But since we had just bought them, we decided to give them a try...what a mistake! After a week of using them, I gradually started getting backaches, and neck aches. But I was not associating any of my aches to the new pillows.
Until last Saturday morning when for no reason at all, I woke up about 4 am feeling extreme pain on my right arm and shoulder as if I had dislocated my clavicle or broken my arm. That's when we finally made the connection between these pillows and the discomfort on the right side of my body. We returned the pillows to Sam's Club that very same day!
I spent my Saturday, taking Ibuprofen and wearing Ice & cold patches on my right shoulder and arm, hoping for the muscular pain that I thought I had to go away. But by Sunday morning I could not even lift my right arm up at all (I sleep on my right side), I felt miserable! So we rush to the Urgent care for help.
After x-rays, the doctor determined that I had a nerve injury (Radiculitis, branchial) in my neck caused by a external agent (the pillows); that had affected the mobility of my right arm and caused pain from my right shoulder all the way down to my finger tips. $200 later, I was sent home with medication and I was also advised to trash the pillows!
As for today, Monday, I can move my hand (that's why you are reading this review), but my right arm and shoulder are still in so much pain; thatI am still unable to lift my right arm up and my husband pretty much has been my nurse for the last 3 days! As I cannot use my right arm at all (and I am right handed), he has been helping me to shower, do my hair, get dress, brush my teeth, etc...THIS IS WHAT I GOT FROM AN ERGONOMIC PILLOW!
I reviewed this product on the Sam's Club website, but I still do not think it is enough. The manufacturer need to know about how their product is hurting people! Two $19.99 Shaper Image Gel Memory Foam Pillows, cost me $200 in medical bills, lot of pain and frustration and about 10 days of treatment (I am on day 3 today). Playlearn Bubble Tube with Fake Fish: A Disappointing and Expensive Gift
I recently received a bubble tube with fake fish as a birthday gift from my father. Although I didn't specifically ask for it, I have a 5-year-old and thought it was a unique and interesting gift. However, the first thing that struck me was the price - a whopping $180! That's a lot of money for a bubble tube.
When we followed the instructions and powered it on, we had issues with the remote. It lit up when we pushed buttons, so we assumed the batteries were good. However, the batteries only had enough juice to confuse us and assume the remote was broken because we saw lights but it would not function.
The fish are supposed to be washed for 3 minutes in soap and water and rinsed thoroughly. For some reason, it takes 48 hours before the fish move and look lifelike. At first, they either floated or sank, but the real problem was that the fish never did anything.
The book, customer service numbers, and registering your product are all directed to Playlearn. There is a useless app for this product as well, but I don't see that as one of the many issues. Playlearn was nice on the phone, and they sent new fish with quite a few more items that go in the tube to address the issue. However, the new fish didn't change anything.
As we realized the fish were not going to work, we also realized the bubbles substantially decreased. Almost hardly any bubbles were bubbling, and eventually, the motor just stopped. I contacted Playlearn again, and they told me it must be the motor, and they would send a replacement that would be easy to install. They wanted me to take this thing apart and replace the motor, which I thought was completely ludicrous. This product was new, not broken.
Cut to one month later, and we never received the pump. I would love to give this thing back and get the money, but my father is really into me keeping it for some reason. I asked for a refund anyway, and at that time, they told me to contact Sharper Image if I wanted a refund, and they only dealt with the maintenance issues.
Sharper Image was super nice and said I should have contacted them to begin with, and they would happily replace it. I'm curious if I could have made the refund happen. They sent a shipment label, but it's a very long awkward item, and it's going to be difficult to get a box to ship back. So much nonsense that I despise this thing.
If Sharper Image wants to be the customer service saviors, then they need to state that someplace. The only paperwork, contact info, customer service number that came with this item was directed to Playlearn, and they are unprofessional at best, and their products are crap. If you're in doubt about who to call if you have a 3rd party issue, then learn from my mistake and call Sharper Image. And don't buy a bubble tube. It's lame.
Disastrous Experience with Sharper Image: Poor Customer Service and Technical Issues
I recently made an online purchase with Sharper Image and unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. I needed to cancel the order immediately after placing it and tried to reach out for assistance. However, I did not receive any responses to my calls or emails until the item had already shipped. This caused a lot of frustration and inconvenience for me.
To make matters worse, there were numerous technical issues on their end that prevented me from processing my own online return label. I was told on two different calls that one would be emailed to me for an expedited return, but I never received it. After finally being able to print my own label, I found out that I was going to be charged for return shipment, even though the item should never have been sent out in the first place.
On top of all of this, there were three different financial holds placed on my bank account, one of which was for almost $90 more than my order total. When I inquired about these transactions, I received no answer from the company as to where my missing money was.
After finally speaking to a manager, I was told that I would not be charged for shipping and that my funds would be released and credited back to my bank account within 2-3 business days. However, this did not happen and I was left with an overdraft fee and unexplained charges on my account.
The customer service I received was rude and unhelpful, and I was given no explanation as to why I received such poor service. As someone who works in customer service with C-Level executives, I expect a basic level of customer service and follow-through with promises. Sharper Image failed on every level and I would not recommend them to anyone.

This isn’t a complaint. It is an inquiry on a product. The model number is 101-2645 and it was made in China sharper image distributed by 2020 merch sauce LLC Irvine California. What I am inquiring about is an instruction guide on use. When it was purchased, it just came on and only goes to one speed, so I brought it back and the second one I purchased does the same thing. I recently shopped at Sharper Image and let me tell you, they really try to make it seem like you're getting a great deal. They even send you a so-called "gift card" with every shipment, but don't be fooled - it's really just a coupon code that they would offer you anyway. Let me break it down for you. I spent $100 and they offered me a 20% off coupon. On top of that, the website was advertising 10% off plus free shipping. And to add insult to injury, I had also received a $25 "gift card" from a previous purchase. But here's the kicker - I could only apply one of these offers. So I chose to use the "gift card" and ended up having to pay for shipping.
But get this - the "10% plus free shipping" offer would have been the same as the "gift card" and so would the "20% off coupon". So in the end, I spent $100 and saved absolutely nothing. I still got charged the full amount, even after all their sneaky marketing tactics.
Honestly, I would recommend avoiding Sharper Image altogether. Their "free gift card" is really just a crappy coupon code that can't be combined with any other offer, including shipping. Don't fall for their tricks - save your money and shop elsewhere.

Disappointing Return Experience with Sharper Image: Losing Money on a Sit-Down Roll Around Seat with Underneath Toolbox
So, my wife went ahead and bought me a sit-down roll around seat with an underneath toolbox from Sharper Image for Christmas. I wasn't too thrilled about it because I already had a similar one that I never used. But my wife insisted and ended up buying over $1000 worth of items from Sharper Image. The receipt showed that the total cost was just over $960 and the return date was up to Jan 31 2022.
I decided to return the seat and initiated the process on the Sharper Image website. However, I was disappointed to find out that I would only be getting back a bit over $70 for an item that cost $159.99 plus shipping and tax. After calculating the tax and shipping, I realized that I was losing a bit over $92 on the return. I sent them an email explaining my situation, but unfortunately, I never received a reply.
This experience has taught me to be more careful when buying from Sharper Image. If you're not absolutely sure that you want the item and have no intentions of returning it, then don't buy it. Otherwise, you might end up losing money like I did. The only thing I accomplished was making my wife angry, and the seat is still sitting here fully boxed, waiting for me to take it to Goodwill.

I gotta say, I ordered one of them fancy car cushions with the massager and heat from Sharper Image on December 18th. Got a shipping label and tracking number on December 23rd, but here we are on January 15th and still no package in sight. I done sent them an email, but ain't nobody responded yet. So, I called up their customer service line four different times and had to wait on hold for a good 45-60 minutes each time. Two of them folks told me it was in stock and ready to ship, but the third one said they'd send an email to Fed Ex to see what's going on and either expedite the order or send another one my way within 3-5 days. Well, let me tell you, neither of them things happened. So, I called back and they told me it just came back in stock after two other agents previously told me it was in stock. Now, they're saying it'll be at least another 4 days before they can even investigate the situation. I mean, come on now, it's been almost a whole month and I still can't get a straight answer on where my package is or when I'm gonna get it. A good company would've just sent me another car cushion, but not these folks. So, save yourself some time and money and don't bother with Sharper Image.

I didn't receive a response, so on December 21st, I called the toll-free customer service number. I selected option "3" to get information about the status of my order. Unfortunately, I was told that my order had not shipped yet. I was instructed to hang up and call again, this time selecting option "5" to speak to someone about it.
When I finally got through to someone, I was told that my item had been in stock when I ordered it, but so many people wanted it that by the time they went to fulfill my order, it was no longer in stock. They had to re-order more from the manufacturer, who was slow to ship. I was frustrated and asked how I didn't get one of the items that was in stock since I bought it when the system said it was in stock. The customer service representative apologized and said they were sorry for the inconvenience.
It seems like Sharper Image has a problem with inventory management. If there are 100 items in stock and 1,000 people place orders, then 900 of the items weren't really in stock. It's disappointing that no one communicated anything to me for 3 weeks. I had to call and wait on hold for an hour just to find out that my item would likely not be here by the 24th.
This was my first time ordering from Sharper Image online, and I have to say it will be my last. I don't want to deal with the frustration of not knowing the status of my order and waiting for weeks without any communication. I ordered a rechargeable battery pack equipped cordless heat belt for my back from Sharper Image via a mailed catalogue and phone order in November 2019. The customer service representative assured me that if I didn't like it, I could return it. However, the device was quite expensive, and I was skeptical about its quality and function. When it arrived, I found that it would not fully charge and hardly even heated up.
Two weeks later, I went to the Sharper Image website and used their automated return system to ask for an RA number to return the product. However, they refused, saying that it was considered a "personal item" and therefore not returnable, even if defective. I was quite frustrated by this, so I decided to call them.
I explained to the operator that the woman who took my original order had said that it was returnable, and that their own website did not describe it as a "personal item" either. However, I got nowhere with them.
So, I called my credit card company and asked for a chargeback to Sharper Image for the reasons stated. They were not abiding by their own return policy, and the product was clearly defective. My LL Bean credit card company said not to worry, they would take the charge off. They took a report over the phone, but four months later, I received another follow-up letter from LL Bean saying that since I had not returned the item, they could not take the charge off.
I was quite upset by this whole experience. We were refused the return authorization number, and it seemed like nobody was willing to help us. I will never order from Sharper Image or LL Bean again. They can both pound sand!

I received an email confirmation that I would get another email with a tracking number when the item is shipped. I tried to contact them through email and phone calls to their 888 number, but all my attempts went unanswered.
I decided to file a dispute with my credit card company to get a refund. It was only after that when I finally received a reply from Sharper Image for the email I sent weeks earlier inquiring about the package. They sent me a FedEx tracking number indicating that the package was delivered. However, I told them that I didn't receive it and that I don't know where it was delivered to. I also mentioned that FedEx never contacted me about any delivery.
To cut the long story short, they said they couldn't and wouldn't issue me a refund. They said they would look into it and maybe send me a replacement in 7-8 business days. They also said they wouldn't send any tracking number for the replacement either. I paid $145 for a blanket that I never received. I didn't get any follow-up email, no FedEx tracking number, and all my email and phone calls to Sharper Image went unanswered.
It took more than a month after filing a dispute before I finally heard from them. This time, they told me they would send a replacement in 7-8 or more days, without a FedEx tracking number. What if I don't like the merchandise and want a refund? It's such a joke.
Shiatsu foot massager
I received the foot massager over a week ago. The order no. is ORD510657106, and it was shipped out on December 12. I opened the box and everything looked fine. But when I tried to set it up to use, I found that the instruction manual matched the massager just fine, but the control pad was apparently for a different device. So what I need is a control pad that matches the instruction book and the massager itself. The representative essentially said I had two choices: either send the whole thing back, or use the keypad I have (she instructed me on how to substitute the button sequence and hopefully get satisfactory results.
The problem is:
1. I no longer have the box the device came in, as everything seemed to be appropriate and intact;
2. It makes no sense to ship the whole thing, when all I need is a different keypad;
3. I can't use Fedex, because I no longer have the return label & address.
I don't understand why you can't just ship me the right keypad, & include a label so I can send back the one I have.

RC Monster Spinning Cars
I recently placed an order from Belk of 2 RC Monster Spinning cars. (Blue and red). On Christmas Eve, my Grandsons were so excited when they opened their packages. I have purchased several Sharper image items before and know that they are definitely a trusted brand….so I had no worries that the boys would have a great time with these. Well….after opening and installing batteries…one grandson yells to the other to “Stop running my car, Carter!” To our surprise….we had no idea that both cars were on the same frequency. Nothing was ever specified anywhere in the add and now the cars sit because only one boy at a time can play with their car.
Desired outcome: That the company mention that cars run on same frequency and buying two for one setting should not be done. Nothing mentioned on Sharper Image paperwork or Belk’s ad.
