Too many commercials- Enough already
Is one of the main reasons we pay so much for tv is that we don't have to see a ton of ads? Yet despite the fact that we pay $55 a month, at any given time we are forced to see roughly 3-5 minutes of stupid ads per roughly 15 minutes of an on demand movie. I used to like Sling but the deluge of ads during 2022 is making me search for another service.

Sling TV
I can take a lot with ad abuse and have never officially complained about them. But today I was shocked and apalled, when they showed religion-promoting ad with the prayer from Graham something evangelists during the Kings of Pain History channel show. This is so unfair to people who are religion-free. This was my first and the last time I subscribed, because I needed to watch Workd Cup, and even did not get that experience fully in SlingBlue. I will not return to this provider ever again.

Recording feature for World Cup Games
I'm watching the World Cup games on Sling. When I cannot watch a game live I am recording the games. The recordings are set to 2 hours and 45 minutes. If the game goes beyond the time (into Shoot-outs) the recording ends prior to the end of the game. So if you want to watch the recordings of Morocco v Spain and the Croatia v Brazil games - you will miss the end of the game and the final score.
Upon contacting Sling they stated there was nothing they would do for me to rectify the situation.
Sling TV
I subscribed to Sling a number of years ago but subsequently cancelled and switched to another streaming service. I recently subscribed to Sling again. In addition to being charged for the service, I was billed an additional $67.41 twice. When I contacted them about this it was determined that the old account I had with them was reactiivated in addition to adding my new account. They will not refund my money. This is a very poor business practice. Old account was with an old email address and a different credit card account.
Desired outcome: I would like to have my money refunded $134.82.
Full refund
I had Sling TV a couple years ago but have switched over to Philo TV for a better value. Just noticed on my credit card statement that Sling had charged me $37.58. I called and asked them to refund my credit card and they refused. It was charged on the 12th of October and I received my bill Nov 1st, I called them the same day I received the bill. I explained to them that someone at there office must have charged my card because they still had it on file and I was unable to remove the card. They still refused to credit my card for the fraudulent charge. They agreed to remove my card but refused the refund. What a SCAM! Charge anyone's card for a month of service and then keep the money.

was first met with customer services telling me l have Strong Creole Accent he said man it's strong my Complaint is why was 2 Payment taken from my card in the same month the first Payment was October 3rd , 2022 of $41. then Another on October 30 ,2022 of $41. why the customer services I must have multiple email addresses that why i was I charge 2 times in October then he tried giving multiple reasons why i was being charged twice this month i have the original email's THAT showed SlingsTV send asking to restart my subscription that's my proof i used one email addresses SlingsTV one account they trying insinuate something else like use another email address how can keep customers when you are S caming they out of there money

unauthorized charges
I cancelled my sling subscription on Oct. 23rd to be done on 10-27. that is fine and dandy - but n the 27th someone simply went to the app on the tv and it automatically reactivated it and immediately charged my bank account 45.$.
I spent literal hours on chat and phone to get a refund - absolute refusal. when i asked them to remove my credit card they insisted they cannot do that until nov. 27th 2022.
The only way I can do that is to cancel my account right now and I lose the month of use - BUT my credit card will be removed/
This is a scam - pure and simple - and i am s ure they have defrauded thousands of accounts through the years/
I am done with slaing - never never ever again. Back to cable!

dvr service
Since I was tired of paying premium prices with my former service for recording a limited amount of shows our household of 2 decided to go with Sling. But more often than not the fast forward through commercials gets mangled and double exposed with two audios playing at once and the only solution is starting the recording over. Very clunky at best, if the problem doesn't repeat itself when trying to fast forward to where you left off- aggravating to the point of...ready to unplug
Inappropriate, violent commercial
Today (Oct. 15, 2022) while watching Planet Earth on BBC America through the channel guide, not On Demand, a violent political commercial sponsored by For Sanity came on. It used graphic footage of robberies, beatings, and shootings and had a racist edge to it. This is extraordinarily inappropriate. Unsolicited violence and any form of racism is abhorrent, but including it in a family show where children may be exposed to it is particularly horrible. This ad should never have been allowed to run.
Desired outcome: Remove this ad immediately.
Sling should be sued for some of the ads they allow to run.
Streaming TV
I wanted to cancel my subscription. Went through the online cancel process and ended up in a loop asking for my reason, then back to asking my reason when I confirmed cancellation.
I went into the chat and got the subscription cancelled but they would not remove my payment method or my account. I asked for corporate information and they said they did not have this.
At this point, based on their service and horrible web site design, I want my account removed entirely. I will not be back.

9/16 having problems with lag/buffering. spoke with my wifi provider and we tested things for an hour and everything looks good. i checked other streaming service i have and worked. so i contacted sling 1 st person to respond was a gentelman i could not understand. i asked 3 times to get some 1 i could understand. another agent got on phone and seemed to be interested to fix problem but wanted me to trouble shoot their problems. i explained that my wifi service is good and all she could do is insist i trouble shoot with her . i explained i dont work for sling, dont get paid by sling, i pay my bill every month so its their responsibility to fix not mine shoe would not listen and just kept saying the same things over and over again ,no headway being made,. very sorry custemer support. dont listen

Streaming service
I signed up for streaming service on Sunday September 11th. After realizing I was not able to watch nfl games, I cancelled the service one hour later on line but only because I was unable to reach anyone by phone. I was on hold for 40 minutes. When I got hold of service person on Tuesday and explained my situation, I was informed that they could not refund what I was charged. I was informed that I would have had to contact them that day. They were not available and long story short, sorry even though you don’t want it, and since you did not contact us there is no refund. Very poor service. I decided to use YouTube as a service. Very poor customer service and not very impressive streaming service
Desired outcome: Would appreciate you refunding my $17.50 since I didn’t use the service and I won’t be using it for the month.
Sling needs an overhaul.

Account and package edit page
I signed up for the Orange + SportsAddon Package. After a month I tried to
delete SportsAddon. Despite editing my choices multiple times the SportsAddOn package remained in my subscription charged. A cancelling,
restarting, and package editing infinite loop commenced without success.
This appears to me to be a "Dark Patterns" grift. It worked to the tune of
$18.50. Sling TV would work for me if it worked as advertised. It does not
and false advertising is a crime. I read that the FTC is investigating fraud of
this type I find myself on "Complaints Board"?! I am contacting the
California Dept. of Consumer Affairs as well.
Desired outcome: Fix the accounts editing page to reflect package deletions properly and removethe charges going forward.
The HLN Network tends to glitch up during the viewing
I've tried adjusting the video quality, I've tried limiting the advertising targeting, and it still glitches up. I just want to watch Forensic Files, man. Also, the DVR'd Harley Quinn episode on TNT came out glitchy.
Desired outcome: Maintain the video feeds so that they don't glitch up.
Commercials being repeated over and over again.
The ‘online betting' commercials are nearly constant -- I don’t like them, and find their repeation to annoy my sense of sensibility. This has made be look to find another streaming service.
Desired outcome: removing the constant repetition.
I'm sick of this too. Cancer meds commercial. The same one sometimes even 2 times in a row. Every 12 minutes or so and its not even live tv.

New commercial seen on Fox news, Is Crude, and embarrassing.
The product is called "Ballsey' for a Man to shave his scrotum, in case I had to explain it to you.
I doubt this would have been allowed if it were for a woman and using various Crude Terms for their anatomy.
This also makes the add sexist.

Sling TV
I have complained about the DVR service multiple times. I finally decided to cancel. I spent an hour looking for a cancel option yesterday. I go to my account and there is a button for edit account and a button for watch now. Edit account does not allow you to deselect the orange or blue, only to add more. My account was dinged for another month this morning. So I took time out of my day to call them. I told the lady on the other end of the phone this is not acceptable that the cancel option is so well hidden. She told me she cancelled my account and refunded the month I was charged for.
A short time later, I had not received an email, and checked and nothing was cancelled. So I called back, even more angry than when I made the first call. This gentleman got it cancelled and my refund issued. I told him I wanted to complain to a supervisor about the first call. The "supervisor" if she really was one, was very condescending and rude. The more rude she got, the angrier I got. She told me the cancel option is at the very top of the account page. I told her don't lie, I'm looking at that page right now. She said she was signing in to verify it. The more she talked the more rude she was. She finally said it's right there like she said. I said no, it isn't. I told her I have been in the computer business for many years, have a degree in computer science and in fact, own a business that installs and maintains servers so I'm quite sure I can read a web page. In a very snotty voice she said Well, I'm happy for you. While she was busy being snotty, I scrolled down and about 3/4 of the way down the page at the very end of a list of hyperlinks there was a cancel option. As I said, buried where it's hard to find. She said Oh, you must be on the mobile app. I said no, I'm on a desktop computer and you told me twice it was at the very top of the page, why lie? She hung up on me.
Sling has some of the rudest nastiest customer service reps that flat out lie to you. This "supervisor" if she really is one has no customer service skills. She should be fired but sadly, she probably won't be.
I would hope the company makes many changes. Obviously training for the "supervisor" who was so rude. Don't lie, as I was lied to by 2 people today at Sling. Put the cancel option in a prominent position like maybe...at the top of the page, as the "supervisor" lied and said it was. I will never use their service again and I will caution people I know to steer clear of Sling.
Failure to allow taping of an event-also poor DVR service
Was assured I would be able to watch the Stanley cups playoffs and I had over 30 hours remaining in the allotted 50 hours for taping so I felt comfortable taking the service. The day of the first game I could not get the event to tape so I called useless customer service and was informed that taping was not supported-every other event is supported so I asked where was that written and received a response of nowhere. I informed her my schedule does not allow me to be at home so I would like a refund. She said we never issue refunds. Bottom lines lies. Have to take another service and wasted $36 on Sling. I suggest all who have had difficulties with this firm to file a complaint with the FCC. I should have known better when I saw the parent company was the Dish.
