Spotify review: Spotify for artists

Dear Spotify Support,

I recently discovered that my album Mad ( https://open.spotify.com/album/5jSEHBNknBIXIS4zKXsLOw?si=wZDt2qC8QKenSDvwYG0Tiw ) was removed from Spotify due to alleged “artificial streaming.” It was removed on January 30, 2025.

I respectfully request a thorough review and immediate reinstatement of my music, as I believe this decision was made in error.

I have spoken with my distributor, DistroKid, who informed me that they do not initiate takedowns but rather comply with lists provided by Spotify.

However, when I reached out to Spotify Support, I was told that DistroKid requested the removal.
This conflicting information has made it difficult for me to understand what truly happened and how to properly resolve this issue.

Afterwards, I have spoken to the Artist Relations Manager and Marketing Coordinator of DistroKid, Kaite Heeren, and she has stated that Spotify takes down the releases and refuses to hear out any case, directing the artists back to their distributor (even though the latter cannot sort the problem out). — (I attached screenshots of our chat).

Here’s why I believe my streams are legitimate and my album was wrongly flagged:
• My music gained traction organically through my own social media promotion, where I have thousands of engaged followers.
• My songs were added to legitimate playlists, including some created by Spotify itself and independent curators. I have already contacted the curators, who confirmed that my placement was organic and my streams came from real listeners.
• I have never engaged in artificial streaming, bots, or paid promotion services outside of Spotify’s official tools.

I attached screenshots and proofs of my organic streams.

I fully support Spotify’s efforts to maintain fair streaming practices, and I am more than willing to provide additional evidence to prove the authenticity of my streams.

However, this wrongful removal has deeply impacted me as an independent artist, and I kindly request that my music be reinstated as soon as possible.

Here’s why this decision must be reviewed:
• Legitimate Growth: My streams came from organic promotion through my own social media channels (Instagram, TikTok, Spotify, SoundCloud,etc. with a total number of followers of +45.000) and verified, legitimate playlists, including those curated by Spotify itself.
• Conflicting Information: Spotify has not provided any concrete proof of artificial streams, and the conflicting information between Spotify and DistroKid about the paternity of the Removal Request has left me without a clear resolution.
• Data & Evidence: I have already provided detailed proof of my organic promotion and streams, as well as legit and real playlist placements, yet this evidence has not been acknowledged.

Given this, I kindly request:
1. A thorough re-evaluation of my case based on the data I have already submitted.
2. A direct explanation of what specific evidence led to my removal, as I have received only vague and generalized statements.
3. An appeal from you to the Spotify Content Team that deals with these issues, in order to get my case escalated;
4. A way to reinstate my music without forcing a complete reupload, as I should not have to lose my progress and audience due to an unfair flagging.

And you can see that the majority of streams come from “Radio”, “Discover Weekly” and “Mixes”, which are official playlists made my Spotify.
