Last night (27 November 2017) we went to tomahawk spur in Goodwood. me and my family was so disappointed in the poor service its disgusting and terrible. we came there at about 7 o clock was seated then introduced to a waiter George who brought us the menu's then someone else (GM) came to take our order. we waited more that a hour for the food to eventually come one plate at a time. to top it of we received food we didn't order for exp a grilled burger we got a crimped burger that was hard and dried out. We had the rump steak for supper and we ordered the Monday burger special which is 2x burgers for take away. really now we ordered 2 specials meaning 4 burgers I paid for 2 specials but receive one. I was so pissed off with them at that time I could catch flies. then the bill came and we were billed for items we never received or ordered when queried the waiter apologized saying he don't know the menu we must bare with him he is trying his best. most of the staff is trainees and I am not a happy customer this is one of my worst night out we didn't even order desert as everything we ordered was a mess. tomahawk goodwood should brush up because this is bad service.

Hi i went to spur with my three boys wife and brother in law later that night my two boys who had a waffle complained of stomach cramps vomiting and diarhoea I took them to hospital test were done and the paediatrician confirmed that it was food poisoning as they have no virus in their stools and blood.my boys spent 4 days in hospital and I tried to talk to the manager of spur wonderboom who constantly ignore me with consultation from poison centre and health inspector this was caused by the food if I get no response soon the matter will be taken further as this is severe negligence and they put my boys life in danger especially the 4 year old who almost died

Good evening I ordered some food at ur store this evening I ordered 400g of ribs with chips and onion rings and full portion of wings with chips and onion rings and I just got home to open it the ribs is not a chance 400g it's ridiculous I just paid 130 for 3 peaces of ribs secondly no onion rings just chips then the other had chips hardly any onion rings I asked for extra basting on the ribs and nothing ribs are dry this is not on I am very upset about this and to top it off I called in to order my food I was told it will take 15 to 20 min I waited hour and half for food when I got to ur store my food was not ready I left home 20min after ordering food then still stopped at petrol station then at spar do get some stuff then got to ur store and food was still not ready and I still had to wait. Please see pics I took of food I received this evening as this is ridiculous.

I was at Spur in Kroonstad with my family on the 23 October 2017.
The food was very tasteful and the waiters were very helpful. You could see that they enjoy their job to serve their costumers, very friendly service!
As my family and I were enjoying ourselves, I could not help but hear a conversation between a waiter and the manager/operator (A white lady with short hair, wearing a white shirt). She was talking very loudly, almost screaming, so anyone could've heard her.
She was scolding the waiter about a mistake he made. That was not nice to hear. Sounds like the manager/operator has no respect for her waiters even though he did not even talk back to her, just said sorry, sorry, sorry.
I like to come to Spur but I don't like the unprofessional way people are being treated there. It was the first time I heard something like that and I hope it was the last.
Spur's food and service ROCKS!
I hope the manager/operator will behave kindly to the waiters or will give the waiters the needed training to not do anything wrong again.

monday waffle special
Greetings on the 6/11/17 I went to Spur in Grahamstown I ordered my meal which I have no compliant over the problem was when I asked to order a original spur waffle. I was told by our waitress that waffles aren't available today to which I expressed my disappointment. While I was still at the Spur I could smell waffles being made when I was about to leave the restaurant I asked the hostess why I can smell waffles if they unavailable for the day she then told me waffles are available but they were preparing an order of 40 which was due to arrive soon. Now my problem then becomes why I was not told the truth and why are customers wanting to place a particular order being turned down. I would have very much appreciated being told that perhaps my waffle will take slightly longer not be lied to just to find out that waffles are actually available. I love the Grahamstown Spur and I frequent there often but I was very disappointed this time
200g cheddamelt sirloin steak & sides
On 29 November 2017 me and my husband ate at the Spur in Heiderand, Mossel Bay. This is the same steak I always eat at the other Spurs and it has never been a disappointment before. I had the spinach and pumpkin with my steak and even this was not very good. The spinach tasted old and the pumpkin had not a drop of sugar in, it actually tasted bitter. The steak was the worst, burnt on the outside and raw inside and as tough as can be. The staff were very friendly and helpful as I gave my complaint. They replaced the steak and this time I had chips and onion rings as a side. The chips I could eat this time but the steak was still not very good, I just took a doggy bag to go feed it to my dog. I just feel that all Spur branches should have the same quality that the customers expectations are always met. Could Spur head office please check where this Spur is buying their meat and if their meat and vegetables are disposed of after a reasonable time?
I am not going to stop eating at Spur just at that specific one.

I'm very upset today after my visit at Milnerton sable square spur. Since it was birthday special I went there during my lunch break while working for an essential emergency service to get the meal for me an my colleague. 1. After entering there was no at the door to assist and no one at pay point. 2. After calling the manager it was said that this special is not for take away although I explained that I'm working for an essential service and are on duty. The manager said that unfortunately they can not do anything about that they just abide by the rules. No apology or anything just plain dull. I had to leave My experiences at other eatery was always good when it comes to drive throughs and take aways. 3. After all they cater only for a certain group of people because this special Is only between 24 - 26 Oct. What about those getting paid on the last day. Which means spur is discriminating against those who cannot sit down because of work duties to take part of their specials and are just catering for who ever they want to. 4. They must review their services
poor/lack of service
On 24th October I decided to treat my sister who is going through a rough patch to a supper date. I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from Spur wrt their 50th birthday special and decided to take her there. Upon arrival (17h50) we joined the very long queue. We were in the queue for more that 2 hours and by this time our husbands were hungry and grumpy. The staff at the entrance were having their own conversation and failed to seat us claiming that we have to wait for the "seating manager" who was running around like a headlesss chicken whilst they were merrily chatting and doing nothing else.
We were happy to be seated by 20h15 and decided to just make the most of the evening. We had to call for a waiter after sitting for 10 min to take our order.
It was only the that we were informed that there was no more ribs available. My husband asked why we were not informed whilst in the queue because surely almost everyone was in the queue for the ribs special. We were informed that they ran out of ribs at 18h00 already.
All 4 of us was disappointed but seeing that it was so late we decided to order the steak specials. An hour later I called our waiter to check on our order only to be informed that he is waiting for food for 3 people ahead of us. I accepted his explanation and waited. Lo and behold at 21h35 I see him coming our way with plates stacked on his arm and announce to my hungry family that our food has arrived, only to see him place it on the table next to us and this to customers who was behind us in the queue, and seated half an hour after us.
By then you could only imagine our disgust and disappointment. We decided to leave as my sister is also diabetic and by this time was not feeling well at all. I left my contact details with the front line lady and requested that the boss calls me. This is another request to be seen!
We eventually ended up at McDonalds across the road and had a burger for supper at 22h30. What a disappointing evening! I look forward in feedback from my complaint please.

On the 24 October 2017 me and a friend and our daughters went to Spur. Very bad services. Our waiter came and drop all our drinks the we ordered on me and the floor. I was soaky wet all me clothes wet of the wine and cold drinks. I understand that it was a accident. But got no proper appology. The manager did not even come to the table to see if everyone is ok. They just cleaned the floor and went on as normal. I had to ask over and over from different waiters for servrttes or something to dry myself.
I'm very disappointed and would never visit that spur again.

We went to the spur today 24th October 2017 to enjoy the spurs Birthday special. We ordered the R50 special. My wife had the ribs. It was literally 3 long bones with almost no meat on. I had a steak which is never 200g. The steak was dry. The ribs was overcooked and we'll it was bones. The veggies was tastless. (Lone wolf spur just off bayers naude). Learn from Turn and tender They know how to celebrate a birthday. I'd never want to go back here again.

Visited spur chatsworth (Durban) today (24/10/17). Ordered 1 portion of ribs and 1 portion of rump steak. To my surprise recieved slices of brisket as ribs. Steak seemed as if it was pre-cooked. When I spoke waitress she indicated that almost 50 percent of customers were complaining and walking out. Very disappointing experience. Will never visit this branch again.

We had visited the spur branch in white river served by a guy name Jeffrey. Which was certainly not very much helpful and irgoneg us most of the time and stood in front to help and get other customers. Let's not forget when I asked for cream. He brought ice-cream. And I had to get up and go and get the bill knowing he seeming me getting up. Believe this Wont be left here. I will take this further

Horrible, horrible, horrible is what I can say to describe our experience at the Spur located at City Mall in Lilongwe. They served us rotten potatoes that smelt and looked disgusting. After sending them back the waiter opted to bring rice, which which was brought cold and also appeared to be left over rice from a day or so. The barbecue and tomato sauces at the table had also been diluted with water, which could clearly be noticed due to the overly runny state of the sauces (this is a common occurrence in small restaurants here who do such pathetic things in order to cut down on cost, something which is totally unacceptable). The rest of the food was then brought to us cold. We asked the waiter to call the manager so that he hear the complaints we had about the appalling state of the food but he neglected to address us. Instead he wondered off into the back, leaving us to deal with the disgusting food, which we had no choice but to toss to the side, and forced us to pay the bill. Please look into this and improve on this immediately or shut it down because this was simply unacceptable.

My sister and I made our way to Spur on the 24th September which was a Sunday around 6pm, im not too certain about the time. However we made our way through Spur in Ballito Junction Mall, plus my sister is pregnant and she was craving Spur food. We waited at the front for 10 minutes to get seated. During that 10 minutes there was many waitresses and waitors that saw us standing there, and there was a lady at the front desk which also didn't care to seat us. We had to ask to get seated.
After being seated we was told that we will get a waiter in a few minutes, we waited anxiously for the waiter for 20 minutes, I called in 2 different waiters and non came back to assist. They were busy BUT I saw waiters lucking around the front desk having a nice conversation with each other.
I approached the manager and he had nothing to say but that his sorry.
It's really u professional the way they carried on.

I ordered nachos at Rustenburg Spur on 30 August. It was the worst I've ever eaten. I always order nachos and love it. So I know what it must look and taste like. It was dry with minimum sauce. There was nearly no cheese. A lot of lettuce. I can send you a photo if you wish.
I told the waitress that it was the worst dry nachos ever and she just said sorry.
Hi come to spur everyday as always over 40 mind for a burger or toasted Sandwhich. Plus over 15 mins for coffee, today 30 mins. Plus to get a waiter in smoking area. That ate not busy. I'm not happy as I have 45 mins lunch and always delays in food been made.

I would like to share my thoughts about the experience I had on Saturday evening at the Ottawa Spur in Cavendish.
My husband and I decided on a night out….with 4 kids it doesn’t happen often.
We went to Spur, there was a Queue and we got a table after 30 minutes. It was busy and we felt so bad for the staff. Every 2nd table seemed to complain…We were still joking about the fact that some customers just complain to complain. After 15 minutes our starters arrived – Cheesy Garlic Roll.
About 45 minutes after that our meal arrived…..this is a long wait .
My husband ordered the Surf and Turf and I ordered the Ribs and chicken.
My husband had to call the waiter…waited a while for him to come as well because his calamari wasn’t cooked properly. After about 10-15minutes the calamari came back and it still wasn’t right. My now he was unhappy and definitely not enjoying the meal. The manager on duty explained that it must be the quality of the calamari and offered us an alternative. He then took the wings as a take-away because by this time we were just tired of the entire experience.
We didn’t even have dessert as we just wanted to leave.
Will definitely not be visiting Spur again.
no onion rings
We went to sunset bay spur in gordon's bay on the 27th of August 2017. We had a starter and order our mains afterwards, when the waiter bring our mains he informed us there was no onion rings to serve. That is the big reason why we still eat at spur. Why didn't he inform us about this before he bring the food. Then I order a pork chop and ask for it to be well done, when my food arrives the pork chop was still raw. This is our second bad experience at sunset bay spur. We will never go back there.
hair in food again!!
I am a frequent patron of the spur steak ranches in the western cape area, this has now obviously come to am abrupt end as I have now for the 3rd time in the space of 2months found a hair in my food!
This of course disgusted me to a point where I needed to run to the bathroom in fear of regurgitating what I had already consumed.
Then when calling the manager to tell them about it she looks at me as the I put it in there myself.
The first time I had found hair in food was at vangate mall, the second time was also at vangate mall then the 3rd time was at the waterfront last week.
It is absolutely sickening to find someone else hair in ones food and to make matters worse I was still expected to pay for that food which I never even ate!
In fact I do not feel that expecting me to pay for this inedible food is fair at all!
