Please see complaint #[protected] and follow up complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. Target fraudulently accepted a payment from Affirm.com for a $500.00 gift card that was still in the cart according to the customer service at corporate Jeremi, who took it out. If it was still in the cart it wasn't bought. Scammers from Amazon International had set up a loan with Affirm. com and Target did not check. I called the customer service at the nearest Target, Hsv, AL to report this, she told me to make a police report, report it to the FTC (# [protected]), and to go to bank and get new cards. I did everything she told me to do with her assurance Target would investigate. At the bank, I found out there was a hold on the credit card "due to suspicious activity". The assistant branch manager, Keisha at Redstone Federal Credit Union filed a dispute and told me to let Verizon wipe my phone. I had to keep my e-mail and phone number due to doctor reasons. I got a text on Tuesday the next week from Target saying sorry you were a victim of fraud we can't help you. They had their money and did not verify anything with the bank or me. cI got a letter from RFCU dated the 29th of Feb saying the money never cleared my account. I thought it was over then I started the end of March receiving text messages where I needed to pay Target thru Affirm and amount of $47+ I ignored it thinking another scam because I got the letter from my credit union RFCU. Then I kept getting harassing notices how this will affect my credit > I called Target corporate, The first one , Joey told me they had no fraud dept to report fraud. Finally Joey gave me a number 612-304-6755 and I called it was not longer in service and/or number had changed. I called back and got, Mario, who told me that they could only help red card customers and hung up on me. I called back the third time and got Jeremi who listened to my complaint and looked in my buggy to see the card was still in there. Like I had not purchased it, then she passed me on to ESMERALDA who informed me it was text to my phone # which was wiped. She was sorry but I owed Affirm they had their money. Target has a bad reputation from the withdraw and buy Target, Apple and Home Depot cards. Target had no right to accept the money from Affirm. They should have at least waited till RFCU did their investigation. I was so mad at the lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE. I contacted the Department of Justice, the Attorney General of the United States about this scam and how Target has cracks in its security system, or there is something going on with side embezzlement. Target has shut it's eyes for far to long.
Desired outcome: I need Target to give Affirm.com the money back because the gift card ???? texted to me is gone .
