In 2008 I go to Walmart and write a check, the check was declined by telecheck, so I go to the parking lot and call their 800 number. I was informed that there was a problem with the system, but I could go back to Walmart and the check would be honored. I did not go to Walmart, but to another grocery store and the check was honored.
A few weeks later telecheck is declining my checks again, so I call the company who inform me that I owed a bad check, the same check that was declined at walmart, the same check I have in my posession that has void printed all over it from Walmarts register, so I fax the check to Telecheck, who take it off their system and I am allowed to write checks again.
In 2009 Telecheck declines all checks and I again call them and they tell me that I owe the same check, so I fax the check to them and they again clear it from the system.
2010, I move to Tenessee from Alabama and unable to write checks. Telecheck tells me that I owe the same check, I fax it back to them and they ask for more proof like a bank statement. Duh, if it was declined it wouldn't have went through the bank. I contact the BBB and right after that Telecheck acuses me of signing the sheet that came out of the register. UMM it's a check, not a credit card, so no sheet would have came out of the register for me to sign! I have not seen this paper with the signiture on it, it doesn't exist, but Telecheck seems to be trying to cover their butts and it's not working. Anyone who writes checks knows that there is no paper that comes out of the machine for you to sign. You hand them a signed check, it goes through the system and it's handed back to you.
Be careful... My check was denied and for 2 years I've been fighting with Telecheck because they want me to pay for a declined check... Keep that check for the rest of your life cause it just might happen to you.
I visited Sam's Warehouse and presented a check for $221.28 which was declined and I was given a number to call at Telecheck. The toll free number had a recorded message with instructions to enter my bank info and check number. Then I was transferred to another automated recording that I would receive the info via text message to my cell phone and would be charged $9.00 a month for the "service" and directory assistance of up to 20 searches per month. What kind of scam are they running here? I went to their website and found no indication of what Denied Telecheck Reason 08 is.
I called Sam's and they gave me 3 other numbers to call which were the same recorded message system instructing me to go to their website. I called Sam's back and the customer service person said to call the bank. Its something with the system.

It's the week before Christmas and we have written one or two checks more than usual. Just one or two more. I went to the pet store today to buy food and some supplies; the same ones I buy at the same pet store every two weeks. I wrote a check and Telecheck declined it because I had written more checks than normal. When I called to complain and finally got a person I asked them whether or not they were going to correct the situation so that I would not have to worry about having more checks declined. After taking all of my personal information (and I mean all of it) they advised me to wait seven days before I write another check. Seven days? Why does anyone put up with this company? I am sending a letter to the pet store (it's a local business) to complain. It seems like that is the only thing I can do since Telecheck couldn't care less if I am embarassed or inconvenienced at all.
According to the Check 21 system, merchants such as Wal Mart Inc can scan your check into their system and electronically convert it to an EFT transaction. The way that this is processed is via an "eft authorization" to run an electronic check BY a slip that DOES print from the register. The company then hands you the check back with VOID on it because that check is now being electronically drawn. If you truly did not write this check or sign the slip, then your bank CAN issue a letter that states the check was NEVER presented for payment. Try again.
IN ADDITION...If anyone is at all familiar with how the E-check works. The check that you have a picture of... Well, It is not filled out...Why? BECAUSE...you ran it as an electronic check and Wal Mart instructed you that it would be scanned and then you signed a "slip that came out of the register". I think that people who launch complaints againslt companies that are false should be legally responsible for slander. Oh...Wait... they are... I hope that Tele-check finds out about your post and proceed with legal action.
