Tom Thumb review: Gas station

September 22, 2023 around s6:45 I stopped at the Tom Thumb on Lawrence and Heath Texas. I went to pump gas and my debit card became stuck in the machine. I went into the store and a young boy came out to assist me. He tried to get the card out, but it was stuck. He told me that this happens quite a bit and he usually can get it out. The young boy went back into the store for help. Another boy came out name Brandon he tried to pull it out it didn’t work. He said he was going back into the store to call the Director And he would be back. Brandon came back and told me that he had called the Director at the store and that these pants were not owned by Tom time they were leased and the company that services them would have to come out and remove the cart. At that time I advise Brandon that I was confused at that they hadn’t put out any signs letting customers know that there may be a malfunction with the machine and their card could get stuck. He proceeded to tell me that that had not happened prior to today. I advised Brandon that the other young boy told me that it had been happening for quite some time, Brandon got very offensive and stated you need to leave. I didn’t feel like it was Brandon‘s fault but then he proceeded to call me a stupid [censored] that got her card stuck in the machine, and when I questioned him about why he was having an attitude he told me that he was going to call the police on me that this was private property . I am six months pregnant. I couldn’t believe what he had said to me. I understand that these are young kids and as I explain to him when you work in the service industry, you might come across people that might question you and that there was no need to talk to me that way , I went over to the store and spoke to the assistant manager who told me that the Director was not there and she had not heard anything about the gas pumps having problems with peoples debit cards or credit cards being stuck. I advised her that Tom how Brandon had spoken to me and use profanity . She asked me if I would write a statement which I somewhat did but I was so upset by the whole ordeal. I shop at the store all the time and get gas at that pump. This was a Miss fortunate situation, but I don’t think that it called for Brandon to speak to me in that manner or toned , I had called my husband who had googled the issue and found that there was a spot under the card reader that you could push with a paper clip asked the young girl at the service desk if she had a a paper clip she gave me the paper clip I went back over to the pump and the card has been removed. I went back in the store and asked them if they had my debit card and the young boy replied. Yes let me get it as he handed me the card, Brandon then spoke again and said if you had just been patient, we could’ve gotten it out, he said, thank you for coming, but don’t come again. I was surprised that the debit card was released because the young boy had already tried to pull it out. I I don’t know why Brandon felt the need to escalate the situation I was upset yes but I didn’t feel like it was his fault that the card was stuck. I emphasize that to him several times I felt like he was rude and unless unnecessarily, talking ugly to me in a disrespectful manner. I advised him when you work in the service industry you have to interact with people and the way you’re talking to me is not professional or helpful. I know that Tom thumb strives to have the best people the best products that’s why y’all do the secret shopper? I don’t feel that Brandon is a good fit for Tom’s them. I’m not sure where he’s a good fit for , l work in the service industry and I feel like this is a teachable moment for Brandon
