The worst experience I've ever had!
The worst experience I've ever had! The Sales Director, or at least that's what he said he was, was very disrespectful, rude, and arrogant! Just a heads up, be prepared before you go there.
My son needs a new car that can fit six people
My son needs a new car that can fit six people. He's expecting a baby boy soon and already has three step-children. He needs more space, but he can't sell his leased car to anyone other than a Toyota Dealer. He currently has a 2020 Corolla. CarMax offered him $18,400 for it, while Toyota only offered $14,000. As a consumer, who would you choose? However, there's a problem - he can't take his car to CarMax because Southeast Toyota finance won't agree to their terms. We did ask if they could compromise and meet halfway at $16,500, but Toyota of Clermont declined and politely told us we were out of luck. This kind of practice can harm consumers and families. I suggest avoiding leasing vehicles from any company that tries to take advantage of the current car shortages. You can find a list of available cars at CarMax, it's displayed in their front lobby.
UPDATE:
We have found a solution.
Had a pretty bad experience at Toyota of Clermont
Had a pretty bad experience at Toyota of Clermont. As a loyal Toyota customer, I was expecting the sales process to be easy, but boy was I wrong. My issues don't lie with the product advisors though. Alica was great, super friendly and answered all my questions. The problem started with the sales process. First off, my credit score is 645 according to Equifax (the same service they used in-store, apparently). But for some reason, when they checked it in-store, it magically dropped to 580. Doesn't make much sense to me. Feels like they're trying to squeeze as much money out of their customers as possible. Another dealer actually pulled my credit and it was 645, so this must be a tactic to make you pay higher finance leasing payments. And now for the worst part, the trade-in value they offered me was insulting. My car is worth $40,458, but they only offered me $30,000 in-store. That's nowhere near the lowest values on any other platform or dealer. It's especially strange considering my trade-in was a newer Toyota with very low miles. Honestly, this sales experience was one of the worst I've ever had. I would never consider buying from this Toyota again, and I suggest you take your business elsewhere where they'll treat your wallet with respect and give you a fair and honest price.
BEWARE OF THIS SCAM TOYOTA!
BEWARE OF THIS SCAM TOYOTA! THIS TOYOTA IS ALL LIARS & SCAMMERS! I tried to buy a vehicle from this Toyota for over 48 hrs and minutes before I came to pick up the vehicle, they sold it to another buyer. I was LIED to by salesman LUIS, BROOKLYNN, TANISHA and JESSICA. They're "online sales representatives" is clearly an automated system designed to SPAM you and make you FEEL like you're being listened to, but in reality, they don't read their email...and when you call and actually speak to someone, they OUTRIGHT LIE TO YOU, including the sales directors! IF YOU CARE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HONESTY AND INTEGRITY IN A COMPANY--STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM THIS TOYOTA! THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND LIARS and I wish that everyone could read this review before they even CONSIDER dealing with this dishonest POS company. I sent the following email to their sales department and NEVER got a response...and when I came to purchase the car that I was told was "put to the side" for me, it was sold "minutes" before I arrived: It is clear that not only does your sales team NOT talk to each other, AND you don't read my messages.  I am NOT going to give you my phone number to "text" me the photos--at this point, I believe the advertisement to be a scam and will report it as such to all listing sites. Heck, your team can't even seem to to notice my name in emails and you keep referencing me by the incorrect name. Furthermore, I will post negative, but brutally honest feedback on every site associated with your dealership that I can find.  Your business model of heckling me for details that either I have already provided or have stated that I do not care to provide is absolutely ridiculous. I am in the market for a vehicle and what I assumed to be an easy request--to get actual photos, NOT stock photos--has proved more than your dealership is willing to provide.  Therefore, you must be a scam. Please remove me from future correspondence from ANYONE on this team or anyone from this dealership. GOOD JOB, TOYOTA OF CLERMONT! I truly hope this and every other review that I leave--from the ComplaintsBoard.com to Yelp to Toyota Corporate reflects negatively on your horrible, DISHONORABLE, NO GOOD BUSINESS MODEL. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!

On 10/31, I got myself a car from Toyota of Clermont in central Florida
On 10/31, I got myself a car from Toyota of Clermont in central Florida. After I brought the car home, my spouse told me that I got scammed and taken advantage of real bad. There were two different prices listed for the vehicle. The first price was $33,500, but then it magically increased to over $38,000 for a leased vehicle. The monthly payment for the lease is $686, and I have to pay that for 36 months, which adds up to $24,696 for the lease. If I decide to buy the vehicle, my lease agreement shows that I would still owe over $19,000 for the car. This means the total cost of the car would be over $43,000, even though it was originally listed at $33,500. It's a complete rip-off, and it's really sad because it happened on a Sunday. It's the worst trick ever!
I bought a new truck from Toyota of Clermont on 8/11
I bought a new truck from Toyota of Clermont on 8/11. They said I had to schedule an appointment for tinting the front windows and windshield, so I did, but it was two weeks later. On my day off, I had to wake up at 7am and bring the vehicle to them at 8am. I waited for four hours for the tinting to be done. When I got the truck back, I noticed bubbles on both front windows (they're still there today). The tint on the driver's side was uneven, and the windshield tint was installed three inches below the AS1 line (which is illegal in Florida). So, I had to bring it back again when their tint guy was there to redo the windshield tint. However, the redo was done very sloppily and looks terrible (I even had to trim part of it myself). Dealing with this dealership has been a nightmare. It's almost impossible to reach the right person when you call, and they give you the runaround and lie to you. Nothing ever gets resolved. I have to find a competent installer to redo the tinting, and I want the dealer to pay for it.
We talked to four workers who were tryin' to sell us a brand spankin' new Highlander
We talked to four workers who were tryin' to sell us a brand spankin' new Highlander. They said we'd get floor mats as part of the deal, but we never got 'em. On 12/10, me and my missus bought a shiny new 2021 Highlander after hagglin' with four Sales reps. They promised us floor mats and even threw in some cash to seal the deal. We paid the agreed price, includin' our trade-in, but them floor mats never showed up. When we got the new ride, we realized they forgot 'em. The next day, the dealer called askin' if we had a second key and an eighth seat for the trade-in. Even though they accepted the trade-in "as is," we went back to Clermont and gave 'em the missin' items. We figured the folks we dealt with were honest too, so we called 'em multiple times, but none of 'em bothered to call us back.

On 12/31, I acquired a new 2022 Toyota Tundra SR5 V6 4X2 Crewmax without disclosing the VIN.
On 12/31, I acquired a new 2022 Toyota Tundra SR5 V6 4X2 Crewmax, and traded in my 2018 model, still under Factory Warranty until 06/07/2022. As the second owner, the Certified Pre-Owned Warranty extends the original coverage plus an extra year without a mileage cap. The dealer and I shared the cost for an undisclosed issue in my previous car, resulting in an extra $1,000.00 charge. Later, I realized the Factory Warranty should have covered this, but the dealer won't refund the amount. Additionally, I was charged $5,000.00 over the MSRP, which felt like a forced monopoly. The transaction was made with honesty and integrity, with salespersons Jon P. and Joshua M involved.
I bought a car from Toyota of Clermont on 10/29
I bought a car from Toyota of Clermont on 10/29. They told me it was safe to drive, even though there was a recall for fuel pump failure. They even "gold check certified" the car, despite the ongoing recall. Oscar assured me it was okay to drive while waiting for the manufacturer to fix the problem. The next day, their salesman Dalton drove the car for 30 minutes to deliver it to me. On Monday, I contacted the manufacturer about the recall and found out that there was a stop sale for cars with the same recall. I went back to the dealer and asked them to take the car back, but instead, they had me sign a statement saying I wouldn't drive the car until the recall was resolved. They gave me a rental car to use in the meantime.
I got a new 2022 4runner from Toyota of Clermont
I got a new 2022 4runner from Toyota of Clermont. They took the old cross bars from my old 4runner and put them on the new one. But when they did that, they messed up the roof of my new 4runner. Now there are 10 dents in total, 5 on each side. It's a bummer because I didn't notice right away since the damage is on the roof and hard to see from the ground. I reached out to Toyota of Clermont and they said they never moved the old cross bars and don't have any record of it. But I have videos of both the old and new 4runners at the dealership, and you can clearly see the crossbars being moved. I was so excited about my new car, but now I don't even trust that they installed the cross bars correctly. I asked them to fix the dents, and I want their sister dealership to do it because I don't trust Toyota of Clermont anymore after all this damage.
On 05/14/22, I took my 2010 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited to Toyota of Clermont for regular service
On 05/14/22, I took my 2010 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited to Toyota of Clermont for regular service. They did an oil change, brake fluid exchange, filter replacement, tire rotation, and a multi-point inspection. I always make sure to keep my vehicle in great condition. However, when I picked up my car, I noticed that the front engine splash guard was hanging down and not properly clipped back into place. I showed this issue to the Service Manager, Luis. He claimed that the car was already in that state when I brought it in for service. But that's not true because it was fine before. Luis and I examined the splash guard, and it seemed like someone had pried the clip away and damaged the guard. I asked Luis if Toyota of Clermont would fix the damage they caused while working on my car. To my surprise, Luis said that I should buy another splash guard and they would install it for me, charging me for both the part and the installation. I refused because they were the ones responsible for the damage. I tried to contact the Head of the Service Department, but I haven't received a call back. It's only fair that Toyota of Clermont repairs the damage they caused.
So, I brought my 2016 Toyota Sienna minivan to Toyota of Clermont on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, and they said it would be ready for pick up on
So, I brought my 2016 Toyota Sienna minivan to Toyota of Clermont on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, and they said it would be ready for pick up on Monday, September 19, 2022. This was supposed to be a fix for the hail damage, but the first shop in Jacksonville did a bad job, so I had to bring it to this second shop that's certified in the network. They were supposed to fix four things.
First, the rubber runner strip that goes from the front to the back along the roof is hanging off the vehicle about 90% when I take it through the car wash. Second, the interior roof mounted light fixture at the front and the seatbelt roof mounted device at the rear are not secured to the roof correctly. And lastly, the hail damage is still visible on the exterior panels.
My wife picked up the vehicle on the completion date, and I returned on September 29, the day after the hurricane. I called them, but nothing happened. I took the vehicle back to Clermont Toyota Collision where they took pictures, and they said my representative would contact me, but I still haven't heard anything.
The car was at Clermont Toyota for almost two months, and they didn't compensate me for a rental even though I have rental coverage, which is now maxed out for this claim. The four issues that were supposed to be fixed in four days took almost two months, and yet the hail damage on the rear liftgate is still there, the rubber strips on the roof are still not repaired, and the front interior light is still hanging down. It seems like they only did one out of the four repairs.
Please arrange to pick up the car and fix it.
On Monday, February 14, 2022, my son took our car to Toyota of Clermont for scheduled maintenance
On Monday, February 14, 2022, my son took our car to Toyota of Clermont for scheduled maintenance. One of the things they were supposed to do was rotate the tires, which we always do there since we got the tires on November 15. We've had the tires rotated on March 15 (Tech: ***) and September 6 (Tech: ***). My son also brought the truck in on November 12, because he thought the brakes were getting low, but they didn't do any service that time (I don't think they checked the tires then). However, on February 14, 2022, they told us they couldn't rotate the tires because they couldn't find the lock key. We always keep the key in the same place in the truck, and we've only ever had the truck serviced at Toyota of Clermont. I called Cheri, the Service Advisor, to follow up, and she said that when she talked to the technician who worked on the car before (September 6, Tech ***?), he said he used his own lock key to unlock the tires. I think that during the service on September 6, or March 15, they didn't put the lock key back in the truck, and it got lost. The service department quoted my son over $300 to remove the locked lug nuts. I want to replace the current lug nuts with regular ones, but I don't think it's fair to charge us to remove the current ones since the key was lost during a previous service. On February 16, 2022, I sent a letter to Toyota of Clermont (Kim L, Customer Relations Manager), but I haven't gotten a response yet.
Toyota of Clermont quoted me $6,511 for a new engine replacement
Toyota of Clermont quoted me $6,511 for a new engine replacement. But when they finished the repairs, they suddenly told me it would cost $7,850. Eventually, they lowered it to $6,578. To my surprise, they also installed a new battery without my permission, and my check engine light was still on. They claimed it was due to a faulty relay driver for the secondary air injection system and wanted to charge me an extra $630 to replace it. However, I managed to find the part myself at a lower cost, replaced it, and cleared the check engine code.
After driving only 30 miles with the NEW engine, it started misfiring violently, and the check engine light began flashing. I noticed that several parts were missing from my engine, such as the battery bracket, engine cover, valve caps, and loose wire plugs. Additionally, the battery completely died and couldn't be recharged. After numerous discussions, they finally agreed to tow my truck back for warranty repairs and to replace the missing parts.
I tried calling for updates over the course of 3 weeks, but supervisor Danny M informed me that my truck had been fixed and the missing parts were replaced. Excited to retrieve my truck, I went to the dealership, only to be told that they hadn't even looked at it yet. Stranded and disappointed, I had no choice but to walk 12 miles back home.
About a week later, they informed me that my truck was finally fixed. However, upon arrival, I discovered that the catalytic converters had been stolen. Although they denied responsibility for the vandalism, they did replace the stolen parts. They also claimed that the engine was misfiring because it was actually used, not new as they had initially stated. Unfortunately, my truck is still misfiring and struggling to accelerate. Shockingly, they are now refusing to address the issue they caused. It turns out they sold me a used engine while claiming it was new. They only revealed it was used after it started causing further problems and damage. Had I known it was used, I would never have allowed them to install it in my vehicle, as it is now causing additional harm to the rest of my vehicle.
The service department lied and changed several parts at my expense, but it didn't fix my car
The service department lied and changed several parts at my expense, but it didn't fix my car. I paid $1886.89 and want a refund. On 01/03, I took my 2009 Toyota Camry (vin ***) to Toyota of Clermont for diagnosis and repairs. They had my car for 14 days. During that time, the service advisor, Michael, told me that I needed new keys. I spent $109.98 on a master key and spare key [protected]), but they didn't work. Then, he insisted that I needed a Transmitter Sub-a (***) for $495.98, promising it would fix the issue. It didn't. Next, they said the computer immobilizer was needed (***) for $189.99, and they were confident it would solve the problem. It didn't. Despite spending a total of $1886.89 on parts and labor, my car remained unfixed. I refused any further suggestions they had. I contacted the service manager, Jack, who was very rude, arrogant, and condescending. When I explained my issues, Jack interrupted me and told me to "get to the point." He claimed that it wasn't his problem because the car came from a "used car lot" and his service department did nothing wrong. I found it unfair that I was charged $1886.89 and my car still wasn't fixed. Jack made no effort to resolve the issues. The Toyota service department misdiagnosed the car and replaced unnecessary parts at my expense. I believe I should receive a full refund for the parts and labor done at Toyota of Clermont. After taking my car elsewhere, specifically to Toyota of Orlando, they were shocked by its condition. Parts were missing, and the parts that were installed by Toyota of Clermont were done improperly. After a proper diagnosis, Toyota of Orlando identified the exact problem and fixed my car within a few days. This isn't the first complaint about the service advisor, Jack, at Toyota of Clermont. There have been several complaints about him and the service department. I truly hope this dealership undergoes some changes.
The dealership was not honest, they didn't tell me important info, took my personal info under false pretense, and messed up my credit
The dealership was not honest, they didn't tell me important info, took my personal info under false pretense, and messed up my credit. I went to Toyota of Clermont on 3/6 to find a car. They said it would take 19 days for the car to arrive and I gave them my number to call me when it came. On 3/18, they called to say the car was there. The GM, Nick, even worked out some numbers and made an interesting offer. I told them I was out of town but would call on Sunday 3/22 to finalize the deal if the car was still available (I wanted more for my trade-in). The GM said it was okay and to text him on Sunday. At 10pm on Saturday, Nick told me they still had the car. I replied at 10am on Sunday that I would go to the dealership to get it. I arrived at 1:45 and the car was clean and right outside the showroom doors, just like Nick promised. I checked out the car, took it for a test drive, and after 45 minutes, went inside to talk about the price. Nick wasn't there on Sunday, so he introduced us to a salesperson named Scott. Scott had us fill out a credit application, gave us an offer, and 10 minutes later, the Finance Director, Joe, came over and said the car had just been leased. The finance and sales teams knew someone else was working on a deal for the car, but they didn't tell us. As a result, they got our financial info and ran my credit. They didn't tell us the car's status and it hurt my credit (it went down by 20 points) because of their dishonest business practices. I can't believe it's ever okay to risk a customer's credit just to sell a car. I want my credit score points back and I want this dealership punished for being unethical. I also complained to the federal trade commission.
