At 9:45 I entered Scottsdale Indian Bend location. I explained I have a medical condition and cannot wear a mask. I was handed a basket with a big yellow sticker that says mask exception. One of your staff thanked me for going along with this rule. I could see he was agitated, troubled, intense and nervous. I asked him what was wrong as I was holding my...

There is almost no hazelnut (seriously only drops) between the cookies which in the photo show a substantial amount (like an Oreo) and claims "...made with ground hazelnuts with a creamy Chocolate hazelnut center"
With a "Sell by JUL 28 21 B 2 "
Bought three boxes across two stores in LA and one just now in Oakland CA. Same lot of cookies I presume.
Desired outcome: Address with manufacturing company / product quality control ASAP
Covid protection for lines of consumers
The Trader Joe's in Ann Arbor has some excellent policies and others that could use improvement. In this case we are all learning how to deal with the Covid problem and many of their solutions were good from the first. However, there is no sign outside specifying you must wear a mask when in line. This results in customers waiting to put up their mask until...

My husband and I were not allowed to shop in your store yesterday, July 29, 2020 even though we were wearing face shields. I have researched face shields and feel they are as safe as masks. The woman employee said we would be endangering her health. I told her only if her face was on my neck. No other store has a problem with it. Very disappointed.

Employees at a 14th street Union Square New York City Trader Joe's store asked to check my bag and accused me of shoplifting today. I refused, they called the cops and an emt ambulance on me with their cell phones and told me to never come back to their store today even though I didn't steal anything. I finally showed them my bag when the cops arrived, they...

Just a quick warning to everyone on the Trader Joes Croissants and a product they call Raspberry Danish. They use to sell croissants in a box and they were amazing. I would put them out the night before when I was going to have a family brunch on Sunday. I would bake them in the morning and the house would smell like a bakery in Paris. These products are not in a bag and they are horrible. They do not need to sit out overnight so maybe the recipe has been altered. I literally threw these away instead of servicing to my guests. They also have raspberry danish in bags and the product doesn't take horrible but they look horrid. The raspberry filling in the middle slipped on to the baking sheet. I will not be buying these products again.
frozen mac and cheese
Last week, I bought a box of frozen mac and cheese. After nuking it in the microwave, I began to eat it and suddenly bit into something hard. Turned out to be a scary, jagged shard of glass. Wth? Wonder if I swallowed other pieces. They better do a recall pronto. This is the second time I've found a UFO in T.J. food. The first time was in their sweet Italian sausage.
the products contained the gluten
I bought some gluten free items from the website www.traderjoes.com. I received the purchase 4 days ago and didn’t mention before that the seller has mixed something and sent me wrong items. All products contained the gluten. I was lucky that I haven’t used these products, and I have noticed that these products contained the gluten. So, be careful, when you buy from them and receive orders.
wrongful termination
I was recently let go from my job for missing work due to ilness. I had a doctors note present. I was sick with bronchitis, as stated on my doctors note and full steam staffing ended my assignment. This is unjust and not professional, as the influenza virus has clearly taken a toll on the country this season . Something needs to be done about my situation, I have a mortgage to pay and other daily expenses, this was uncalled for.
Read full review of Trader Joe'sspoiled rotten food
I have been exclusively shopping at Trader Joe's for over 12 years. Over the past year, however, I have repeatedly had problems with food that is for 3-4 days pre-expiration date (ALL their refrigerated foods are only good for max 4 days from date of purchase), but when I bring the food home if it's not rotten already, it goes bad and is smelly/stinky/rancid/rotten by the next day! I have lost count how often I have had to take salads, veggies, dairy products, and meats back. I even had to take a plant I bought there back the next day because it had plant lice (aphids) and one of the staff said that's normal! Really?!
What has happened to this company? The store I shop at is one of the busiest in the area, so products should move quickly, which only leaves me to believe that Trader Joe's is putting out rotten product for profit, regardless of consumers' health.
I'm never shopping at Trader Joe's again!
I bought a salad on April 11 th and opened the package and had a salad that evening and the expiration date is the 20th. The producer of the Romaine lettuce and cut the lettuce across the leaves, including lots of the stalks. All those pieces were spoiled. Since you are a higher end grocer, you need to be more careful how your food is packaged and it’s quality.
I will get all me salad’s from your brother’s store from now on as Aldi has higher quality and lower prices AND I never have trouble with their salads being spoiled WELL in advance of the expiration date.
I think you are taking your valued customers for granted and it’s going to catch up with you!
Trader Joe's is too expensive to be pulling that nonsense.
I have been a loyal Trader Joe's customer for over 20 years and have always had a positive experience until I moved to the Arlington, VA area. Over the past 3 years I have purchased spoiled food I have had to return...Chicken twice, a rack of lamb, bagged Kale/Cabbage salad and yesterday fresh corn on the cob purchased Dec. 27th with a package date of Dec. 12th...the corn was packaged for over two weeks!
I returned the corn today Dec. 28th and complained to Captain 'Johnny Lawless' The captain was not apologetic and suggested perhaps I should shop somewhere else since their store handles thousands of items every day and it was impossible for his staff to ensure everything they sell is fresh. ** This explanation was not acceptable to me since I have not had this Trader's Joes experience at other locations.
The Bailey's Crossing staff has had no problem recently reorganizing their shelves and frozen goods. Every few months they move shelf stable seasonal items. (I would think fresh items should take a priority over the shelf stable and frozen items)
I seems to me there are enough staff members. The Bailey's Crossroads Management Staff is the problem. If the Bailey's Corner Management staff cannot take responsibility for ensuring expired foods are removed in a timely manner then Management retraining is necessary. Mr. Lawless should be made aware of my complaint and take action in the future regarding to rotate and restocking the fresh produce... and particularly fresh meats daily. Note: The Reston Trader Joes location donates their nearly expired breads, flowers and vegetables to shelters! Use to be a Big Trader Joe's Fan
I was so excited to have a Trader Joe's near my home. I shop there once a week. In the past six months, nearly every other trip results in a spoiled good product that I either throw away or bring back to the store. Last Thanksgiving, I ended up returning a turkey. Last week, I threw away most of a bag of apples. Tonight, it was $16.00 worth of salmon that was spoiled. Interestingly, the sell by date is still 4 days away. I'm wondering why this is happening so much and if Trader Joe's is being honest about their dating of food. Or maybe it is their food storage? Not happy. And really,

rotten chicken salads lettuce
First Iv’e been shopping at Trader’s Joes for approx. 30+years. I’ve never had a problem. Two weeks ago I purchased you lunch chicken salads (two of them) for lunch and dinner. Both had rotten lettuce leaves throughtout. I returned to the store and talked to the manger and he was nice enough. He told me to go get new ones. It was hard finding the same thing that wasn’t rotten on your shelfs. I then took the reduced fat brand again due to all the rotten reg. ones. I’ve gone back three times now only to find the same rotten salads on your shelfs. Maybe there not the exact same ones but the result is the same.
Brown lettuce that has been put out after their life was over. the location is the Trader Joe on Bouquet Canyon in Santa Clarita CA.. If nothing is done by the next time I go to that location it’s back to Vons. P.S. Today I was there again and the same problem still exists.
9/1/11 7:30PM -Irritating & RUDE blond female CASHIER ignores customers waiting to be checked out. Why doesnt the Mgr do something? 2 lanes were open, but female clerk in empty lane #2 was busy “chatting with some guy (worker?), ignoring me standing right there to check out! Busy Lane #1 male clerk kept saying “she will help you” (3-4 times..) -but she ignored him. I waited til she was done “chatting” and ignoring customers. She did not offer to help, just starred at me (wierd). So I had to wait in lane #1 (where the guy who kept saying she will help you…)
DOESNT Trader Joes train their people to be alert for customers wanting to buy and have some respect? SO irritating after working all day, wanting to get the hell out. Her lane was open but she intentionally stood in way where customers would stand.. Makes me want to return everything & not shop there again. Waste of time.

So, they still shouldn't have rotten lettuce!
rude clerks
Rude customer service. This store has to have the most adversarial clerks I have ever encountered. I was in the store today and got a cup of coffee. Upon realizing I didn't like it, I asked the clerk whether I should throw a cup hot liquid in the trash can (didn't want to create a mess) or give it to him to dump in the sink. Seems simple. He frowned at me...

I lost a molar(!) after biting into something in a Trader Joe's Chicen Sausage I had bought the same day. I cracked the tooth and had to have it removed as I didn't have 3500 for an implant.
Both Trader Joes and the Villa Roma Sausage company denied my claim as I couldn't produce what broke the tooth. The whole process was painful and humiliating.
I now am employed and am going through the lengthy, painful and expensive process of having an implant installed.
I haven't shopped at a Trader Joe's since (Dec 2009) and encourage everyone and anyone I know not to patronize them.
I'm sorry TD577 i mean to say (bridgetc) Lives in Washington and that Villa Roma Does not ship to that location.. She has the wrong company.
In addition to TD577 complaint.. Villa Roma Sausage Company doesn't even sell their product where they live. The complainer (TD577) lives in North Dakota and they do not ship that far. Bad Complaint. Complaints Board needs to take down this post!
I have bought Villa Roma Sausage products for over 15 years. I have never had a bad experience with them. They are the best all natural sausage and healthy sausage out there. The person who wrote the complaint sounds like they are lying. Why didn't you save the object that supposedly broke your tooth? Why didn't you take a picture? Sounds like they are just trying to get money from them. This complaint is probably bogus.
harrassd by employee
I have been a loyal customer of Trader Joe's since the birth of my son on January 1, 2000. Since that time I have shopped in the following stores Oceanside, NY, Hewlett, NY, Marleton, NJ. I recently moved to the Metro DC area an immediately looked for a Trader Joe's store. The nearest store to my home is Silver Spring, MD and I went along my weekly shopping routine as I always do.
Until today, on Friday December 3, 2010 at about 3PM I was harrassed at the Siver Spring store by an employee and accused of stealing. I returned an item as I often do. Somedays I have a reciept and somedays I don't. Since I buy my groceries on debit card there is always a record of my purchases. I noticed an employee stop what he was doing and take an interest in me when I evetered the store. I found that curious but did not pay attention to it as I was returning an extra bag of chips that I purchased.
As I began my checkout the employee who took an interest in my behavior interrupted the cashier and told me that I could not return an item that I bought the day before. He in fact did not ask me if I had a receipt but instead suggested that I had been taking items off the shelf and returning them as purchases. He then proceeded to tell me that he witnessed me on two different occassions take items off the shelf and return them as a purchase.
I was furious! I asked to speak to the manager. The manager at the time said "whatever he says is true" suggesting that the employee was telling the truth. The manager then stated that he watched me through the "glass" in the store and witnessed me do what the employee accussed me of. I asked the manager what it was that he exactly observed and he said" exactly what he told you"
Over the ten years as a shopper I have spent about 60, 000 dollars between the New York, NewJersey and Maryland stores. This means that I love the positive energy and products that you provide. I was extremely upset that I was profiled and accused of stealing without proof.
As a reslut, I feel unsafe going into the Silver Spring store for fear of being accused again or worse arrested. I am a father and a husband and I cannot afford that.
I would like an apology for being accused of doing somethingthat I did not do.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
This is a common occurrence at the Trader Joe's in which I work, which I will not name so as to avoid retaliation. I am very sorry this happened to you and know that not ALL Trader Joe's are like this. Crew Members are pressured to follow customers and accuse those which the Management decide are stealing product. We risk our own jobs and performance reviews if we refuse to follow through. It is indeed humiliated for our customers and for us as employees. So once again, although that particular store will not give you an apology, accept one from me, as a Trader Joe's Crew Member.
customer service
I went to the store on 11/23/2010 to buy a kosher turkey. It was the 3rd store I went to since 2 other stores were out of the product. Seattle just had a severe snow storm so I just rush in just for the turkey. When I went to the cash register I wrote a check but for the 1st time the check was declined in the machine that was processing it. The cashier went to a supervisor to figure out the problem and the supervisor tied again but no luck. I then said I had just enough cash but insisted on getting a phone number to call to clear up the problem. The supervisor told me to contact my bank. I said I was just at my bank earlier and they could even call the bank. He just replied that it must be my bank and I replied that I really need a phone number to clear this up and that it was not my bank that was the problem. He just repeated it must be my bank and would not give me a phone number. I was so frustrated I thew done the money on the counter and told him where he should put the money (up his ###). He said he will not tolerate such language and would not accept my money so I had to leave with no turkey. I tried to call the store later at home but the person just hung up on me. All I tried to say on the phone was how bad the customer service was and what can be done to resolve it. I then googled the headquarters and left a message about the problem. No one called me back the next day. When I call the office in the afternoon a women said she called the store to find out their story and to have them resolve the problem. She then told me that they were upset because I used bad language. I told her it was expected under the circumstances but she continue to defend the store. I continued to try to explain the problem but each raising my voice more since I was getting very frustrated (without shouting). She then said I was raising my voice and she would not tolerate that. I told I was raising it because she was not trying to listen. Then I was hung up again. I don't know if I will be able to get a turkey now since today the weather was undrivable and only 1 other store had a kosher turkey. Hopefully I can get to that store on Thanksgiving but more snow is expected tonight.
jumbo white eggs
Trader Joe's offers low prices on "JUMBO" eggs. However, although the price is good, the white jumbo eggs are not jumbo. At best they might be extra large. Should be sold as "MAYBE" Jumbo. Compare these $1.79 dozen white jumbo eggs with the $3.99 Brown Jumbo Eggs, which really are Jumbo. Or even Ralph's $2.99 a dozen jumbo eggs, which really are Jumbo. If it doesn't size don't give the price prize!

Trader Joe's Compressed Rawhide dog bones made my dog ill. He puked bile 5 or 6 times and had dry heaves after consuming the bones on a several different occasions. He did not have access to any other bones at the time nor have any other changes in his food.

purchased over $40 worth of beef for guest dinner,$11.99/pound), and it was so tough and gristly it couldn't be chewed. It ruined the rest of the dinner and cost me alot of $$ . The least Trader Joes can do is refund the cost of the meat. I am out all the veggies, etc that were to go with it. Sad.
Today, I was having a few of yours dried apricots, then one of yours fruits had something hard, I bit it, in result it CHIP OFF almost half of my tooth.
To whom I will need to forward or get reimbursed for my dental work. Will contact my dentist tomorrow.
I buy Trader Joe's compressed rawhide bones for my 4 dogs every single time I'm anywhere near my local TJs. They are top quality and a gigantic value (have you checked the prices for these at Target, PetCo, Petsmart?). And all 4 of my dogs are beside-themselves-excited to get them. BUT, just as with ANY rawhide bone or treat, I never let them eat them out of my sight. My black lab can chew through one in 30 min flat. About halfway through, I take the bone away from him to let it "air dry" at least overnight by placing it on a paper plate out of his reach. That way, the rawhide dries out and is hardened again. This not only protects my dogs from swallowing giant pieces of hard-to-digest rawhide, but also stretches the amount of time my dogs can chew. Once the rawhide has been chewed on for 15 or 20 minutes, moisture travels through the spaces between the layers in the bones, and literally softens the hide. It is then that this becomes an issue for many dogs because the dogs think the rawhide is chewy and soft enough to swallow in large sections. That makes it very difficult for the stomach to break down and begin digestion. So, the natural reflex is to vomit up the enormous piece. Unfortunately, it's a lot more difficult coming back up than it was going down. So, that's likely the reason your dog only vomitted bile.
These bones are not pacifiers, and should be used responsibly. Doing so, I've never had a problem with any of my 4 dogs, and they love them!
