trip.com not refunding money
I had booked (airline booking reference 4KZXCP, booking no. [protected]) via Trip.com on 29 august 2022, two Saudia Airlines flights istanbul to Bangkok the following routes:
11 january istanbul- bangkok -
22 january bangkok to istanbul.
the saudi airlines flight from riyad (transfer flight)was cancelled. And by trip.com I was alerted to this by.
tickets canceled but trip.com not refunding my money.
Yet to receive refund for cancellation of airasia flights booked via trip.com
I had booked (airline booking reference WZCS3V, booking no. [protected]) via Trip.com on 17 September 2022, two AirAsia flights to Indonesia amounting to SG$536 on the following routes:
20 Dec: Singapore - Jakarta
21 Dec: Jakarta - Sorong
However, the AirAsia flight from Jakarta to Sorong was cancelled on 12 Nov 2022. And I was alerted to this by friends who were on the same flight and had received prompt and direct notification from AirAsia.
On reaching out to Trip.com, the customer service support staff were not apprised of this cancellation even on my alert to them. And even when I shared the screenshot of my friends' SMS notification, they said they were awaiting official notification from AirAsia.
Anyway, it wasn't till days later that they made the change to my Booking. By which time I had logged into the AirAsia website to check on this, and after noting that my mobile number and email address weren't reflected correctly, had them changed to [protected]@live.com and mobile number [protected] which were the details I had submitted to Trip.com all along when booking my flights from the start.
Trip.com proceeded on request to issue a refund for both AirAsia flights and advised to re-book new flights to Indonesia, which I did (for SG$699). However, they promptly advised me by email soon after that they will not process the refund stating I had changed my reservation email address and mobile number on the AirAsia website.
I told them, I had done so only after noting the details were not my own on the AirAsia website. They reflected a number in China and email address there. Which was probably why I didn't get any notification on the trip cancellation. Trip.com said those were the details of the travel agent (possibly Sky Soho, No.99 Fuquan Road, Shanghai, China, Shanghai 200335 CN) they used to do the booking.
They said the only way I would get my money refunded was if I stated what the agent's email address and number was before I had changed it to my own email address and number. I told them I had no recollection of what that was, as I only changed it when I noted I wasn't duly and promptly notified of the AirAsia flight cancellation and noted the details under my name (number and email address) were incorrect on logging into the AirAsia using the flight booking.
They have been quite evasive since on regular follow-up regarding this. I told them they could just check in with their China travel agent regarding the email address and number they had used for my account.
Am feeling quite stuck and frustrated by this. Am unsure if I will ever get a refund from Trip.com regarding my flight cancellation by AirAsia where the details under my own name were updated to reflect my accurate email address and mobile number which were both furnished at the time of booking the flights with Trip.com
Would appreciate any assistance I can get on this matter please.

Refund not received due to App Mistake
I bought a ticket from Trip.com under booking number [protected]. It was a return ticket from Lahore to Helsinki. I wanted to cancel and get a refund for my outbound Trip back from Helsinki. My flight was on 11-10-2022 and i Requested a refund directly from turkish airlines on [protected].I furthermore requested refund from Trip.com on 11october before my Flight. The app has a problem that it doesnt allow me to select only the Outbound Ticket but instead selects the whole ticket/itinerary. My request got cancelled due to this error of app.And couldnt get refund.Now i contacted Trip.com but they say that i can only get a refund of 60€ now and cannot give me the complete refund that i deserve due to the error on their part.Please Help

Misleading student ticket information
I purchased a student ticket thinking it was at a discounted price for ANY student from ANY country. It did not state that I have to be a student studying abroad at the booking destination. I thought I needed the documents such as a letter of admission from my current university and my student ID card in my origin country to PROVE that I am a student to be eligible for a student-discounted ticket.
The website was misleading. There were no specific details as to what to find in a student in terms of the flight travel arrangements. The website only mentioned student discount without defining what constitutes the student. Accordingly, there is no specific term, excluding myself to travel on that ticket. The regulations of the airline and the laws of the country have no bearing to the agreement of purchasing a ticket to Trip.com. The terms and conditions were not displayed and they have breached contract.
Since I do not have a student visa and do not intend on applying for one as I am only going there for holiday purposes, I have tried calling Trip.com and Phillipines Airlines back and fourth for a request to change my ticket from a student ticket to a regular adult ticket but they were not able to do that due to “airline regulations”.
Trip.com should have provided more information on who exactly is eligible for student tickets, because I myself am a student in my country, but not a student who is going to study or work abroad at the booking destination. They have only stated “This ticket is only available for students” and I thought I was eligible for one. I have decided to edit their screenshot and send it to them for them to send to the IT department to make changes to this information so that it is more detailed and makes more sense.
The website must clearly contain all the terms and conditions. If anything is mist or term is ambiguous, you cannot change or make the term more specific after the contract has been entered into. Clearly, this is misleading, and you are now in breach of contract.
Now I need to pay an extra fee of $199.20 for the cancellation of this ticket and look for a regular ticket, but I find this highly unfair and do not deserve to pay this fee as the information stated on the website was misleading and caused a misunderstanding in purchasing the ticket. Please refund the cancellation fee immediately, or further action will be taken.
Can you please try and follow them up to refund my cancellation fee as well please? I would highly appreciate it and it will be something I will always remember.

We were on flight EI034 from Orlando to Manchester on Tuesday 8th November 2022 17:40.
The flight had to make an emergency landing shortly after take-off due to a fire in the cockpit. This resulted in travellers having to stay in a hotel overnight and travel 4 hrs by coach to Miami for another flight to get home.
I have contacted Aer Lingus direct who have offered delayed compensation. However, they have advised we are also entitled to a full refund of our flight costs and to contact you direct.

On February 2022 I purchased to one way tickets from trip.com travelling from Puerto Vallarta to Los Angeles. Within 3 hours of purchase these tickets were cancelled .
I have confirmation from United Airlines that these tickets were cancelled and refunded to Trip.com
I have sent over 50 emails to Trip.com over the course of the past 8 Months and every time they come up with an excuse .
This looks like a scam by collecting people's money and not refunding it.
How do I complain about these people to the department of transportation .

I have booked a ticket on this website, but due to covid I had to change the flight date, I called the airline and they changed it for me and I had the confirmation code. However, when I got to the airport, the actual ticket number was not issued, and the airline at the counter could not fix it for me. Thus, I purchased another ticket at the counter just to be able to fly. After I arrived, I contacted the airline again and they admitted it was their fault and approved for the full refund of my original ticket, but since I bought it through Trip.com, they sent me the confirmation of the full refund and asked me to pursue for the actual refund from Trip.com. So far, I have called them more than 20 times, 7 months have passed, everytime they are saying we will investigate into it, contact the airline, and get back to you in 72 hours. But 7 months passed, nothing happened. I don't have money, they have the script still when I called just now.

I bought a ticket by trip.com just in case I can’t going by stand by Delta airline. I bought in August 28,2022 and try to cancel 10 hours after that., was difficult to canceled by online didn’t allowed me. I booked flights with Trip.com . The return flight Bucharest to London Stansted I was unable to check in on line. When I got to the checkin desk at Bucharest ( Optemi) airport I had to pay 75 euro ( flight and baggage ) in order to be able to board the plane. I had already purchased the flight and only had hand luggage.

I have booked an flight from trichy to Singapore on July 9th through trip.com. Flight was the connecting flight from tiruchirappali to Kuala lampur and Kuala Lampur to Singapore, which means doesn’t need to through immigration in Malaysia( just a connecting flight). And they mention that she needs visa to Malaysia and Singapore both then only she can take flight. The language of officer malindo air line was rude and my mom is really old because of it we have to another immediate flight , which was at might night on the day. Denied my legal right to be rebooked on an alternative flight
The airline cancelled the outbound leg of my journey. Trip.com claimed there were no available flights and forced me into a refund, even though there are plenty of seats available. Now they are blaming the airline for the refund taking weeks to come, so I may never even see my money. I am missing an important event because this company is in China and they think they do not have to comply with UK / EU law. There should be a recording of me telling their agent repeatedly that I do not want to cancel, but even though they operate a UK phone number and are doing business in the UK, they think they don't have to comply with a subject access request for the information they hold on me. I will be reporting them to trading standards and the information commissioner.
Desired outcome: To be given a return flight to my destination in a timely manner, but by the time anyone reads this, it will be too late.

Good morning, on 5th July I booked a flight direct to Brunei for 4 people with Trip.com. One of the flights for Herrington, Deborah/Gail was booked in the wrong surname due to marriage change of name and passport being in my maiden name Lazenby, Deborah/Gail.
I contacted Trip.com immediately who then gave me an email address [protected]@trip.com to change the name and stated as this was within 2 hours of booking the name change will go ahead.
For 3 weeks I have emailed Trip.com and the Airline [protected]@rba.com.bn to rectify the name change. Trip.com gave me 3 options, cancel all the party which I would then loose nearly a 80% of the cost of the flights, contact the airline directly which I did, the airline could change my name from their end but could not issue new flight tickets as this had to come from Trip.com and the 3rd option was too turn up at the airport with my marriage certificate and explain the error and hopefully they will let you board your flight.
I then received an email on 16/07 that the name change was In Progress and after telephoning the airline again, they had told me that Trip.com had not contacted them at all but they can now see that there is a cancellation against my name for this flight.
I also contacted Brunei airlines brunei.[protected]@rba.com.bn themselves but they directed me back to Trip.com as this was booked via an agency.
After 3 weeks of trying to get this name changed my only option they could offer was to give a refund for Herrington, Deborah/Gail and for me to book another flight.
I have had to book another flight which has cost me another £850.00 and now I will be sat on my own for a 16.5 hour flight and not with my husband and family.
My refund will be approx £154.00 due to administrative costs and I have now lost over £700 pounds.
Can I ask you to look into this query and request a full refund for the cost of my flight, this has been a stressful 3 weeks and I feel I have got no where trying to rectify this name change, Trip.com policy is that you can amend a name or passport number and I was not giving this option at all as the 3 requests I put in online were cancelled.

Refusal to change a letter on a name for flight.
I have been on the phone with them a total of 20+ hours. I have spent 20 hours emailing them. I have called the airlines directly and they can't help me. They said Trip.com needs to change it. I am willing to pay the change fee, but they will not do it! I can't purchase a new ticket because the error was in the child's name and they won't let me buy a ticket for a child alone, even though I have my ticket and the child is traveling with me.
This company is truly a scam.
failed to send baording pass on time
Due to trip.com inefficiency, we were unable to board our flight Wizz Air · W62333 on July 11th form Budapest to Milan. After calling the call center several times for more than 3 hours, and being told each time by the customer service to wait for our boarding pass to be sent to my email address, we missed the flight because the correct boarding pass never came. Note that we had paid for the additional service of automatic check in by trip.com. If trip.com said in advance they weren't able to do it instead of telling us repeatedly to wait, we could have chosen to pay extra (again) for the check in, and still make it on the plane; when Trip.com finally said they couldn't process it , it was too late and the airline didn't let us check in on site.

Miss sold flight information
I brought a Turkish airlines flight to Istanbul in December 2021.
I was under the impression that my flight would be with TK. However, once flight information was available, to my surprise i was put on an anadol jet flight.
A cheap budget sister airline of TK however, i dis not purchase this and was unprepared.
I was miss sold the flight. If i had known it was a budget airline flight, I wouldn’t have booked it.
Trip gave no warning of this change nor dis they provide any information about
I filed a complaint on my return.

Failure to honour flight travel credit
In December 2021, I booked a flight via Trip.com – Alicante-Dubai, British Airways (business class). As the omicron variant began to take hold around the world, I called Trip.com to share my concerns about travelling as my husband is living with cancer and therefore immune-compromised. I was advised by Trip.com that I could cancel my travel and be issued with flight credit to be used for future travel. I received email confirmation that the flight credit was available to use by 31 August 2022. I am now trying to re-book the travel and being told by Trip.com that I cannot use my flight credit as the airway has changed their policy. However, on British Airways webpage, it clearly states that flight credit can be used up to 30th September 2023. If there were any policy changes, a flag-ship airline would be legally obligated to give substantial notice to customers - not 3 months as Trip.com expect me to believe. I have contacted the Customer Service of Trip.com who agree that the credit voucher is valid but when it comes to re-book, it is declined – I have now tried three times to re-book and all attempts have been declined by Trip.com. I now feel that I have been given mis-information, inaccurate advice and mistruths. Excuses from Trip.com are beyond belief and they are unwilling to honour an email, sent by them, that clearly indicates my travel credit.
Desired outcome: Trip.com should offer a full refund or successfully proceed with re-booking travel.
This happened to me as well. Except with my situation, their team kept stalling the process and then claimed that my travel travel voucher was expired. At this point, I'm not sure what to do, and have called multiply times but with no resolution.
