Terrible Accomodations
Don't be fooled by the website or the bright colors.
The accommodations at Calypso Cay were 3rd rate at best! We stayed in Building 25, room 301.
Almost none of the bedroom drawers worked.
None of the light switches for table lamps and bedside lamps ran lamps in the rooms
Every one of the mattresses sagged to the middle of the bed.
The floors in the Queen Bedroom would likely be condemned and found not suitable for inhabitants, if these rooms had been examined by a county Building Inspector (based on my experience as a construction superintendent.)
My 10- and 4-year-old grandsons wouldn't sleep in the Queen room, because the floor was "spongy feeling" and creaked badly when walked on. Even little kids got it, but not the Calypso Cay staff - who overlooked these issues.
When I checked out early (at the request of my wife) and notified the staff about the unacceptable status of our room, there was no attempt to mitigate the poor status of the accommodations. I was told that I would receive an email that I could notify management (as there were none on-site yesterday afternoon at approximately 2 PM.) No email has been forthcoming.
When we took our "tour," and let them know of our experience, their response was, "You should let the Front Desk know... Maybe we can get you a free week." However, when we did not purchase additional points, we were quickly escorted to the front desk for our gift and directed out of the building.
In addition, we were informed that the buildings in the area we were assigned is under renovation and that Silver Lake has been renovated and is in much better shape. If the building that we were housed in was under significant renovations, "Why were me and my family subjected to these 3rd rate accommodations, particularly when Capital Vacations is attempting to get us to purchase points toward future vacations?"
Based on all of the above, and the fact that not one of the Capital Vacation Club websites offer support to guests; lots of sales, make reservations, but no support for your guests, my wife and I are very hesitant to even consider discussions with Capital Vacations.
Recommendation: Avoid Calypso Cay Resor

Timeshare contract with Capital Vacations
I am writing to seek assistance regarding an ongoing issue with my timeshare contract, which has become a significant financial and emotional burden that I can no longer sustain. This is an absolutely terrible company. They bring you in wine and dine you, make you feel like they are really doing you a favor. They lie to you and make you feel like it’s the best deal. Timeshare ownership
I have been trying to get ahold of someone at Capital Vacations. I've written to them so many times and there has been no resolution yet! I have paid it off. I'm current on my fees, and no one is willing to work with me. We feel as if this whole timeshare ownership and Capital Vacations is a complete scam. We are sincerely hoping someone who represents the timeshare gets back to us ASAP.
Claimed loss: I have tried to reach out to them every month or so for going on two years.
Desired outcome: To cancel my timeshare account with Capital Vacations

Our experience with the communication process thus far has been disappointing, to say the least. In
August, we initiated contact with an email outlining our concerns. A response requested that we call,
which we promptly did, only to find ourselves in conversation with Mr. Davies who abruptly ended the
call promising to return it in 10 minutes - a promise he failed to keep. Further attempts to reach him
revealed he was ill, but we were assured a call back either from him or a colleague. However, when
the call came, we were unable to connect due to poor service. Several more attempts to establish
contact proved futile. This entire process, which has only left us yearning to terminate our ownership,
has been unnecessarily stretched over a two-month period. Never have we experienced such a
struggle in reaching out to a company.
Desired outcome: To terminate our time share
vacation package
I am left utterly disappointed and dissatisfied with the recent offer proposed by Capital Vacations. They've simply suggested we revert back to our initial contract, a far cry from our clear and firm request - complete release from the timeshare ownership. Yes, Paul H did show a glimmer of reason by offering a refund for the upgrade, which we appreciate. However, our desire for a total exit remains unaddressed. It begs the question, why not the whole thing? If there's a mechanism to get us out of one contract with money returned, it surely implies the possibility of a complete exit. Albeit with a compromised refund, it's a route we are more than willing to take. We remain hopeful for a more satisfactory resolution, one that respects our unequivocal request for a full exit from the
timeshare. Until then, our dissatisfaction and frustration with Capital Vacations continues.
Desired outcome: I want out of the entire package.
Points
I am writing to file a complaint against Capital Vacations, a company I have been a member of since October 2021. Despite my good faith efforts in maintaining my membership, which involved an initial payment of $15,000 and ongoing monthly maintenance fees of $53, my experience with the company has been profoundly disappointing and, I believe, indicative of...

My husband and I were pressured into buying a Capital Vacations membership last November. My parents purchased 2 units at BoardWalk One Resort in Ocean City Maryland in August of 1978.
In August of 2022 my father passed away leaving his wife, the co-owner of the properties, with no pension.
Due to failing health and an extremely limited income she is no longer able to travel, nor can she afford the maintenance fees for these properties.
At the direction of BoardWalk One, a hardship letter requesting that she be permitted to relinquish the properties and terminate the contract was sent to the Board of Directors in Sept of 2022. It is now a year later and there has been no response to that letter.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a response to the letter and agreement that the contract can be terminated, and the properties relinquished back to the company.
Time Share
It has become very clear in our conversations with Marta that our situation is going no where with this company. All they tell us is that there is nothing that can be done to release us, but that they will “push up the request.” It is not like we are coming to them about not having enough towels during our stay. We are coming to them about the LIES that we...

Had the strangest experience at the timeshare spiel at Capitals location in Myrtle Beach. We do these all the time for the cheap vacations and gifts so we aren't new to the whole timeshare game. They set us up at a decent place, went to the mandatory presentation checked in, and got offered breakfast when the sales guy picked us up. This is the companies mistake, you have 50 people in a room eating burritos. Burritos and farts go hand in hand, and boy were there some powerful farts in that office. Id never smelled stink like that. There was no escaping it, I walked outside and left my poor wife to sit in the room a few times. My wife went to use the bathroom and opened the door and immediately came and sat back down, she was pale and coughing from the exposure. I don't know how bad the women's room was but the men's bathroom literally made my eyes water, it was so strong I could taste it. I've smelled horrible things in my life, but never experienced ANYTHING like that. It's a smell that will haunt me, it's unholy on a level of rank I can't put into words. We gave them the 90 minutes and a guy walked us to get our gift card and check us out. He left quickly and the smell was somehow even worse in the last office. It's was unearthly, we ran to our car thinking it was over but as soon as we got in my wife looked at me with a look of horror because the smell somehow followed us to our car, we were going to eat lunch but went back to the room to shower. The smell had somehow soaked into our clothes so our room still had that lingering scent, we just threw the clothes away. The company isn't bad, and the product is better than most, but they really need to rethink the breakfast, they should know better than to stick 50+ people in a room and feed them Burritos, it's like fuel for a fart machine, the smell literally ruined our vacation. I thought my wife was going to divorce me for making her sit through that and then I had to throw away her favorite shirt and have my car cleaned.
Misleading sales offer-we were scammed
Our owner ID is 1032997... On 10/25/2022 we signed with CV at Stormy Point in Branson, MO... we did this to eliminate our Stormy Point deed and annual maintenance fee... also, were told to plan an owner orientation and went to Pigeon Forge, TN for this orientation on 2/28/2023...
At Pigeon Forge we were placed with Chris Watson, who told us since we had two other timeshares we could update our CV account and add those... we were concerned about the additional costs of adding these, but Chris Watson showed us 3 programs, on his laptop, we would be eligible for which if we could not use them in a year, we could turn them back to CV for cash $1000+ (not the points program)... I asked why and he said CV would use these as marketing tools for additional sales and we could apply that cash to our CV charges and maintenance fees... I asked how to do this when we were ready and he said just call him at [protected]... well Chris Watson could never be reached after that!
I have called the [protected] 5 times since June and was promised someone from management would contact me, never happened! What happened to Chris Watson? Are there legal options for us here as I believe we were scammed? Also, the accountant in Pigeon Forge, Cannon Keith, my be complicit in this scam...
Desired outcome: Contract cancellation and refund of monies paid or get Chris Watson to provide what he sold us!
Could not agree more about Pigeon Forge... interesting finding, Chris Watson came from Wyndham which has been sued many times for deceptive sales practices...
We too were mislead by Chris Watson Owner ID #1038042 while attending what should have been a new homeowners workshop but instead mislead on information to upgrade. We upgraded on lies and is now forced to figure out what has become a financial hardship based on the information he provided with this upgrade between the 4 exchange weeks and cruises the plan would pay for itself.
We were even advised by Andy that things would move smoother if we asked our questions before speaking with the quality assurance rep Cannon. I agree this entire office is in on the scam and anyone that upgraded or bought in with this location should gracefully be able to exit. The Orlando office was amazing and are practicing fair business but something needs to be done about Pigeon Forge.
Timeshare upgrade incentives
I was told I had a year to book my dream vacation. Now I am being told that I had to give s 4 month lead time and my vacation is expired. This was never told to me. It was expressed very differently as I was told I had the entire year of 2023 to use vacation, nothing else was said. The representative said I had to have the name of my salesperson before she could escalate call to management, she couldn't even find name of salesperson as their were 4 people telling us lies at the time of the upgrade sale. This can be shown by the recording of the signing which we definitely vocalized our displeasure with the lies as they kept being uncovered. Call never escalated. Hung up, called back, same thing, no assistance.
Desired outcome: I want my dream vacation promised or I am taking this to court and I'm getting out of this timeshare mess. You have over 45k from me so far and I have gotten nothing out of it.
Timeshare sales
Me and my wife recently purchased in Pigeon forge and took our "Dream" vacation at Peppertree in Myrtle Beach. I think I would have rather checked into the Bates motel and dealt first hand with Norman than ever check into that place again. Great first impression, I felt like I had done an Airbnb and was in a room share with a family of roaches. If that...

I am a timeshare owner of Calypso Cay in Orlando, Florida. I have been an owner for many years. First we had interval then RCI and now Capital Vacations. Ever since Capital Vacations took over management I can't access my account. They have tried to erased my account. I can't use my points.
I need access to my account. Every time I call their customer service they say the website is down. They say their manager will call me or their tech person will call me back. No one calls me back. Please assist here. Thank you.
Desired outcome: I want access to my account. I want to use my vacation points. I want what I paid for. I paid over $9K for this timeshare and they have stolen my account.
Timeshare
I recently tried to contact Capital Vacations, only to find out that there is absolutely no contact information on their website. I even tried to reach out via Better Business Bureau and no response was given there either. This company is not user friendly in the slightest and it is extremely frustrating.
I want an email or an address that I can write to in order to get some answers
Timeshare
My name is Christina Gaskins. My email is [protected]@aol.com. I owned a 2-week timeshare at Golf Links Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC for over 20 years. I originally paid cash for my property and was only paying yearly maintenance fees. In 2021, I made an appointment to relinquish the paid for timeshare and was told, by the associate, that I had to upgrade to the new points system and then could relinquish the points. The lie was that I was then locked into a new obligation of debt. I have since paid Capital Vacations $10,000 and am told that I still owe over $20,000 and they will not allow me out of this obligation until it is paid in full. I am in my 60's with a disabled husband who accrues many medical bills throughout the year. I can no longer continue to support this deception!
I have tried to talk to this company as a customer with concerns, and they have been dismissive of my struggles, relentlessly. I eventually got a text message that there were some options to get out of this and to reach out so we could discuss. I felt hopeful, UNTIL the representative made me seem like a liar and said that they would never send a message like that. I know that there has to be something to get me out of this web of lies. Even they said that there were options in that message - but they are refusing to cooperate and follow through. The only option they offer is a full payoff, AGAIN! This is an immoral, evil scam, and it seems endless.
Desired outcome: I refuse to pay any further after being misled that this was the path to relinquish an already paid for 2-week timeshare. I believe that there should be protocol against these predatory practices!
