Timeshare company
I exchanged through Interval to stay a week at their resort in Hollywood FL. I checked in and was directed to a rep who said that he wanted to invite me to a breakfast on Tuesday. I assumed it was coffee and donuts which many resorts provide to have guests met. Next he pulled out the presentation form. I told him I did not want to buy any thing. He then...

We were misled into purchasing this timeshare, and we tried to discuss this with their company directly. Instead of understanding and cooperation, we were met with a cold “nothing can be done.” This will not deter us, as we know that what we experienced should not be considered ok. We were preyed on due to the loss of my late wife, we were told that we...

I have been in touch with Carl who works at Capital Vacations, and have managed to hit a dead end. He said that he was going to be reaching up to a manager and then getting back with me, and now months have passed with no response. That said, I’m not sure if it was Carl or his manager who dropped the ball here. Regardless, I want someone to get in touch with me because I still want out of this timeshare! - This review was left on the Better Business Bureau site, and no one from Capital Vacations has reached out to me STILL. This blatant disregard for my situation is very frustrating and I just want out of the agreement with them for good.
Desired outcome: Cancel/terminate timeshare and all financial obligations.
Cash refund card doesn't work
Instead of giving us a check as a refund after attending a timeshare presentation Fort Lauderdale Florida, we were given this Capital vacations cash card. We have attempted to use it numerous times to know avail. I spoke with an agent on 3/14/23 they tell me I can use it today. On 3/15/23 I attempted to use it at two different businesses and it read declined both times! This is unacceptable, embarrassing & frustrating.
Desired outcome: I want a cash refund via check.
Hello...Same thing happened here! I want a check back from Capital Vacations in Branson, MO, instead of the Capital Vacations $150.00 prepaid card that they gave me that I have had now since March of thiis year and still haven't ever been able to use it anywhere that I have tried, both in town or when I have tried it online as well... So very FRUSTRATING that they're such a shady-[censored] company and their business is so much built on all of the lies and the false promises that they have been trained to give out to all of the people who've stumbled into one of their meetings and ended up falling victim to their gimicks and their high pressure sales tactics that they love to engulf everyone with after they get their meetings up and running... I'll tell you this much, after my dealings with them, it'll definitely be my last and they've lost out now on any potential future dealings with them that I may have ever had with them again after them giving us our $150 refund back on this joke of prepaid card that is usless to us and we aren't even able to use the damn thing.
I'm with you rhobbin@live.com ...My desired outcome: I want a cash refund via check. - laaannncer@yahoo.com

I have expressed my frustrations with this company, and they have chosen to continue to let them go without REAL, GENUINE resolve. So, I am sharing my experience with others as to prevent people from being stuck in the same situation that I am in now. Take my word of advice, move on! This company is all about the money, and it absolutely shows with every word they speak. They will manipulate the truth if it means getting you through the door, and then they’ll tell you that there is nothing that they can do for you unless you pay MORE. It’s always about the MORE. Eventually, they’ll realize that I mean business here and that I want out of this very desperately.
Vacation membership
I purchased 500,000 points. November 2022, I was told in January 1 2023 to redeem my 500,000 points for $12,500. This would cover my maintenance fee of $3,259, my Loan Payments for the year of $6,372 and I would receive $2,869 to apply to my down payment credit card charge. My salesperson was Frank. I have learned since that time, That the statements were not true. I checked again today, 2/21/2023 and was told there are no updates. I called the number Frank gave me and it says he is no longer employed by Capital Vacations. I can't get any help with this either. I even gave them my timeshare.
Desired outcome: I want my money back.
Timeshare
Capital Vacations has a Graceful Exit Program that they allow people to use to get out of their timeshares. I know this because I called some time ago and asked to get out and was told about it. The representative told me that she would put it in my file, but I have had NOTHING come from it since! Now maintenance fees have come and gone, and I just want them to honor what was already discussed! This could have already been taken care of, but they decided to wait until more money was owed to them. What kind of people do this and still sleep at night? Capital Vacations employees, that’s who. I am so frustrated, and I only want to follow through with what I was told about, and
without paying more money because it should have never gotten to this point.
We bought Capital Vacations timeshare (points) several years ago. Maintenance fees continue to rise to the point where they have become prohibitive. Promised improvements have not happened. Maintenance upkeep has been lacking.
Promises made at sales meetings are not valid. For instance, we have been told repeatedly that points could be sold to offset maintenance fees only to be told during booking that this is illegal. We have been told different stories every time we talk to them.
A gracious exit request was filed in November. Nothing happened until we made additional inquiries in 2023. The following was emailed to us by Capital Vacations: "After checking your account, you would have paid the same in October as you are paying now $6,047.00 and also responsible for the 2023 fees $5,567.00. You end up paying 2 years of Maintenance Fees, when you do the Graceful Exit." Maintenance fees for 2022 were paid in January of 2022. We shouldn't have to pay fees for prior years twice. It seems to us that rules are made up as they need them.
Rating of NO stars for this company
Desired outcome: Exit from Capital Vacations without additional fees, reimbursement of 2023 maintenance fees plus some reimbursement of our original investments, or threats from collection agencies!
Customer service representative tracy goad.
It doesn’t get any lower than the way that I was treated and spoken to over the phone with one of this company’s representatives. I spoke with Tracy Goad about the situation that my husband and I are in currently, as he has cancer and is currently withgoing treatments. I explained to her how difficult it is to make payments on this as well as those treatments, and asked if we could do something about the loan since my account has been closed and I’m no longer an owner anyway. She said that this was our fault and that we were responsible for it no matter what. It was even said to me that if I had to use my husband’s LIFE INSURANCE to pay them, then that was fine. To top it off, she said that the conversation was going nowhere and then hung up on me! How can this be tolerated? I was so upset that I was shaking. How can you speak that way on someone else’s life? Over money of all things! It is horrible to know that to Capital Vacations (or at least Tracy) my husband’s LIFE is worth the cost of this timeshare. I still can not believe what i went through. Date of phone call- [protected]
Inflated fees for lies to upgrade
I was offered a free week at the home location in Orlando Fla to be updated about the change of owners and new benefits to switch to Capital Vacations. I was promised a free trip to Hawaii, the ability to rent out my timeshare to offset the high increase in my payments and maintenance fees. Hawaii was a bust, I couldn't use any available discounts because I wasn't married. Robert and Joel both assured me that even though I'd be paying more money a month, I'd have greater options to travel and make money by renting it out. I was also told that they would show me personally how to do this and to this day, nothing. One doesn't even work there anymore. I have had a life changing event that no longer warrants me the high prices for a vacation that never has availability in locations shown and it was cheaper on bookit.com.
I need to cancel this asap and get whatever refund I'm deserving
Desired outcome: I'd like to cancel this agreement
Time share
This is not the first review I have left over the situation that I am facing under this company. This time, they told me that they would let me out but that I would have to pay nearly $10,000 to do it! Obviously this is not an amount of of money I saw coming my way, and I expressed that so they lowered it to $7,000 but that still quite a bit and they only gave me two days to come up with that amount. I was shocked! How are they getting away with this!
Desired outcome: To be released from the time share obligations with this miss leading company.
Timeshare sales misinformation
On Nov 14, 2022, I paid $10034.70 as a down payment and on 12/19 44078.42 for the purchase of 500,000 Capital Vacations Points,
I did this based on the salesman Nicholas Harvey promising that I could rent out all my points 1,727,500 (Including Aspire points transferred to Capital Vacations) in January 2023 and receive $27,400 for this rental.
He stated that all my points would be rented at $20/1000 and that I was to receive 80% of the proceeds.
I can now access the company website and see that it states:
It says you can only use 1/2 of your current use year points - I WAS TOLD ALL and also the Aspire + Bonus Points
It Says Platinum gets $7.50/1000 points - HE SAID IT WAS $20/1000
It says Owners only get 60% of proceeds - HE SAID IT WAS 80%
I have tried numerous times to get a resolution, yet he now passes the responsibility to a site leader Curtis Luallen (sp?) for which I have no contact information.
Since I now cannot get the rental money he promised (which was the only reason I bought the program), and I cannot get a responsible person at the company to talk to, I request a 100% refund of my payment.
Desired outcome: 100% refund of all payments, including maintenance fees
I had a similar situation, I purchased 500,000 points. I was told in January to redeem my 500,000 points for $12,500. This would cover my maintenance fee of $3,259, my Loan Payments for the year of $6,372 and I would receive $2,869 to apply to my down payment credit card charge. My salesperson was Frank. I can't get any help with this either. I even gave them my timeshare. If I don't get a response soon, I will have to contact a lawyer. Might be time for a Class Action lawsuit.
Class action/FBI involvement….
December 2022 I received a $40.00 refund in the form of a visa trucash gift card
On Dec.15, 2022 I attended their pre $40.00sentation for Vacation rental {ana timeshare] I gave a $40.00 deposit which they refunded with a Visa gift card. I used the card the next morning at McDonald for $3.39 for coffee. When I returned home I found out it was declined. I called cust. service # on the card, [protected] that got me nowhere. I sent Emails finally Diana Fletcher Phone #[protected] contacted me on E mail &told me she reactivated the card & I can use it. I used it on Saturday 1/14/23 at McDonald for $6.77 breakfast, it worked. Sunday 1/15/23 it was declined again. I tried calling Diana Fletcher her # is in Toronto, Canada I cannot make international calls on my Phone. This morning I received a voicemail from Melony RE. my problem asked me to call her at [protected] or was it 6782 again that is a Canada number'
Desired outcome: I have $29.84 left on the card reactivate or send a new card. Just fix it
Timeshare misrepresentation
We first met with a representative in late February of 2021. We were told to come back in April for New Owner Training. Instead of receiving the promised training, the representative, promised many benefits from this Company, if more points were purchased. We found out quickly, none of this was true. In May, we began the process of trying to opt out of the contract & were told we could not.
Capital Vacations wants $20,000 from us in order to get out of this! It is such an absurd amount, which of course we tried to discuss with them and reason out their excuse for this price gouging. Unfortunately, the only thing we have heard back from them is about continuing on this route. We want out of this, but for $20,000? That is unrealistic. We have paid our dues in simply being a customer for this long. There is no reasonable explanation for needing this amount in order for them to direct their business elsewhere.
Desired outcome: After paying over $12,000 & receiving nothing, we desire cancellation of the contract & all monies refunded, for the distress & anxiety this has caused us, by signing a contract believing we would received what was promised.
Providing interval international confirmation of dues paid
I am an owner at Ft. Lauderdale Beach Resorts. I paid my 2023 maintenance fees on December 7, 2022. I made and exchange for my week on December 25. My request was still pending on December 31. Called interval, they said call home resort, I did twice, first desk clerk did not know what to do, called back later spoke with another person (? Valirie) she looked up stated it showed fees were paid and she would send confirmation to interval. On January 4 exchanged still pending, called interval, they had not received confirmation. Called Ft Lauderdale, got desk clerk Emily, she did not know how to contact interval but would notify management and they would call me back. No call back to me so I called capital vacations spoke with Don Cantrell for 90 minutes, he tried several options to resolve issue and will get back to me in a day or two. January 5 exchange still pending and soon to be canceled. Called Ft Lauderdale again got Emily referred me to Romona, manager, she refused to speak with me.
Desired outcome: Send confirmation of dues paid prior to my exchange being cancelled. Explanation of why this happened.
Financials, customer service
It appears you have been charging me $25.00 late fee every month this year. Can someone please explain this to me. I have had nothing but trouble from this organization from the start. It has been nearly impossible to book anything after numerous searches and attempts, horrible customer service. This has been a complete waste of my money. And now I log into the account to find you have been charging $25 late fees monthly as well. This is unacceptable! I feel a complete refund should be granted at this point. Or simply cancel my membership and cease all payment collections at a minimum. If I find a way to sell this believe me, I will. And I will not recommend this organization to anyone, EVER. Do the right thing here.
Desired outcome: Refund or cancellation of membership stopping all collection of payment and maintenance fees.
Platinum membership fraud
Me and my parents are RCI - Silver Lake Resort time share owners for the past 25 years and we only decided to become Capital Vacations platinum owners because Capital bought out Silver Lake in 2022. We paid in USD 34,000 in capital and are paying USD 355 per month in inflated maintenance fees. Our agents Nick and Luciano who work in Orlando pitched high value properties including beach properties in the Caribbean/ Penthouses in New York, told us we would obtain annual benefits of USD 10,0000 to 13,000 per year and that our Capital Vacations points would be worth 2 cents per point. Tried to book vacations in Africa this year but suddenly my points are only worth 0.45 cents per point, choice properties are not available, company not returning calls or emails, and I only managed to book 1 part of my vacation but had to pay for using my points over USD 250. The bottom line is that I make nothing on my capital and have an annual net benefit of around USD 2,000 but when I pay for points used this falls to USD 500 in annnual benefits but total costs of maintenance USD 4,500 and opportunity cost of capital is over USD 3,000 making this an annual loss of USD 7,000 or one of the worst investments made in our lives. Contacted an attorney at the South Carolina FBI office. It's now clear this is a USD 10 billion plus unregulated industry and FRAUD is rampant but the US government and Dept of Justice turns a blind eye.
Desired outcome: Full refund or reformed contract to allow us benefits closer to the USD 10.000 annual benefit award promised by agents Nick and Luciano.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

Peppertree by the Sea
Capital Vacations booked us for 7 nights in this stench ridden condo. Unable to stay there with family. Spent another $700 for a better place. Capital Vacations would not help us. Horrid company. We signed an agreement worth Capital Vacations before Conviction for 2 weeks at a prime condo, resort etc. We paid $1500. Last year was a beautiful simple place for 6 nights. This year the place was uninhabitable the 1st 4 nights. The AC was running when we arrived on 10-15-22. We could smell the stench 2 ft from the front door. I woke up several times the 1st night to that horrid stench. We had to stay the 1st night as we flew in late. The condo was supposed to be for 6 people. The grandsons had a pull out couch in the living area which leeway us with about 50 square feet of space in the kitchen. They had taken us on tours of gorgeous condos and that is what I was led to expect. It was the reason I brought my son, his wife, and 2 sons on vacation with us. I will accept my $700 or a week in a nice condo next yr
Desired outcome: Capital Vacations owes us $700 for our vacation expenses as they refused to move us a to another place that did not stink of sewage and mold.

SCAM! Don't fall for their high pressure tactics. Don't accept a "free stay with only a 90 minute presentation"! You will spend hours there as they wear you down. Most people do not want to be rude and just walk out and they prey on that. They prey on the unaware. They prey on those desperate to find a way to vacation, improve their ability to give something to their kids. They will take your hard earned $$$ and then give you a middle finger. One person will initially talk to you, you say no. The manager comes with a special offer. You say no. They come back with another offer. They continue this tactic until you are so exhausted, you are not thinking straight. 3, 4 hours, they don't care, they want the sale! Then they will invite you back for a "Owners workshop" to teach you "how" to use your points and pressure you into "upgrading" because you have been unable to accumulate enough "points" to actually stay somewhere nice. The same high pressure tactics are used. We were told there was a high demand for rentals, or sales and have been unable to do either. Couldn't book at our "home" resort, never anything open, unable to book at other places, same reason.
RUN, RUN as far away as possible! As tempting as the sound of a "free" weekend getaway may be, not worth it and really you are not put in a nice hotel.
We have attempted to "give" our contracts back, but they will not offer reasonable exit strategies if you have not paid your loan all the way off. This after we have already paid significant money to them, and knowing they will just "sell" our contract to the next poor sap that they can scam. They don't care if financially you are not able to pay anymore. They are happier to ruin someone's credit than work with them.
Desired outcome: Want out of our contract with no additional money out of pocket.
Resort meeting and property
We were booked at what I can only say is a dump! Not at all what we were used to at Grand Crowne resorts where we have our home units at! The bathroom had a patch job on the faucet and you had barely any water pressure. No washers and dryers in unit and only two days you could access the laundry facility which we were not there on the two days offer! The furniture was uncomfortable and extremely dated! The tables and bedroom furniture was scarred up and dated! When we went to our sales meeting we were told they did not have 2 o’clock appointments and asked to see my confirmation email and I showed the young lady and she saw that appointment time stated 2 o’clock in my email from Capital! She asked if we could come back tomorrow but we were leaving and told her that! We asked about our cruise voucher and gift card we were supposed to get and she said to take it up with marketing!
I will be calling marketing first thing Monday morning! Very dissatisfied with this company!
Desired outcome: Vouchers given like we were promised!
I was solicited for a promotion, I paid-I was promised a 2 bdrm suite during April vacation-I paid-now no one will call me back to book the trip.
I was solicited for a promotion, April 2022, I paid-I was promised a 2 bdrm suite during April vacation 2023.-I paid and paid for additional nights. I spoke with "TONYA" who states that now she cant give that to me as April vacation is "Too much money". She said she would review the telephone calls and return my call by 4:30 PM 2/19/22. I have called everyday 8/19/22-8/24/22, left a message, now one will call me back. I asked Tonya to refund my money-she refused.
I am being frauded, I would like my money or the 2 bedrm suite in April that I paid for.
I plan to report to the FLA AG on 8/26/22 if this is not resolved by then.
Thank you,
Ms. D Sylvaria
Desired outcome: I would like my money or the 2 bedrm suite in April that I paid for.I plan to report to the FLA AG on 8/26/22 if this is not resolved by then.
I am familiar with this person, Tonya. Funny how she could not assist me after we arrive at resort and they said my reservation was for a two day stay not a three day stay. Here it was Thursday, my new owners meeting (which financially was not planned) is coming up Saturday (the reason for the solicited phone call one month ago) I was promised a 3 day stay with no expenses to me if we attend this meeting. Tonya said there's nothing I can do for you once you arrive at the resort. Lucky I had a comical personality, accomodation were handled and we checked out on Sunday. And the meeting only consisted of ten mins of knowledgeable material detailing the contents of our purchase. This couldve been handled in a virtual session, a video call, or even a simple phone call. Not to mention I spent unexpectedly $560 on the trip because I was forced to take a vacation when I didnt want to. I stayed in the room everyday. It was cold and on the beach, Not Florida.
