Capital Vacations / Capital Resorts Group review: Timeshare contract with Capital Vacations

I am writing to seek assistance regarding an ongoing issue with my timeshare contract, which has become a significant financial and emotional burden that I can no longer sustain. In 2015, I entered into a timeshare agreement with Capital Vacations at the Surrey Vacation Resort in Branson, MO. I was initially attracted by the promise of creating lasting memories with my family. Unfortunately, circumstances have changed drastically since my initial commitment. It has been over five years since I last utilized the services provided by the timeshare due to personal health issues and significant life changes, including the profound loss of my husband. His passing has not only left an irreplaceable void in my life but has also rendered me unable to travel alone due to my own advancing age and mobility concerns. The financial obligations associated with this timeshare are considerable, and continuing to honor them is unfeasible considering my age and current financial situation. My children, who are already managing their own financial responsibilities, cannot afford to inherit this timeshare. They have explicitly expressed their inability and unwillingness to take on this burden, and I would rather not saddle my children with ever-increasing financial obligations. Therefore, with a heavy heart, I respectfully request the cancellation of my timeshare contract and for all associated financial demands to be stopped at once. I believe retaining ownership of this timeshare would only serve to worsen my financial strain without providing any benefit to myself or the company for that matter. I have made multiple attempts to resolve this matter directly with Capital Vacations and have had no success in getting through to their support team nor have I been provided any assistance from their team to this point. I kindly urge your office to intervene on my behalf to negotiate a fair resolution to this matter and am hopeful that with your support, Capital Vacations will understand my position and agree to a mutually satisfactory conclusion that alleviates the undue stress and financial hardship currently imposed on me.
