2018 software program
Went with Turbo Tax because they professed to having the 2017 Form 8936 updated so I could file. Paid the outrageous fee and that began the problems. Took two days for their secure code validation to work. Then I was alleged to have been rejected for AGI, only I had my return in front of me from 2017 so it wasn't the wrong AGI. Find out I have to print their return and go to IRS website for the updated Form 8936 and mail everything in. Turbo Tax never did not have the updated 2017 Form 8936 like they claimed. Called credit card company to dispute charge . And of course customer service or complaining to Intuit is worthless. I also do not appreciate the requirement that I provide my phone number in order to file thru them. My phone number is not required by the IRS in order to file. Intuit sells your phone number to solicitors.

Second year in a row being audited. Not using turbotax anymore.
Just me and two dogs& a cat.
Part time work.
No property, kids, alimony, other income, yet once again I am being audited.
Lots of promises, yet I am going broke. Wanna Upgrade, no way turbotax, I am done.
Nothing has changed, just a single old man looking forward to a few dollars taken away all last year by the irs. Lots of hype by turbotax ads saying 10 days or something. Took 6 months last year, money came in three different installments... months apart.

Horrible experience! Avoid at all costs! They make you pay additional for the deluxe claiming then your taxes will be accurate- and charged my credit card before I filed. I still cant file with them because it is inaccurate and they wont give me a refund although I did not get ANY SERVICE from the additional 100 dollars i paid! Still have to pay someone else to do my taxes! What a waste! I tried talking to customer service- promised a call back from supervisor who never called. No place to email customer service. The worst part is they are inaccurate- and refund is higher elsewhere! ZERO STARS

My husband and I filed our taxes jointly. Our money came to our turbotax prepaid visa debit card. My husband called and reported an unauthorized transaction by me because he was angry with me and they allowed him! Not only did they allow this and cancel the card and locked up all our money, they told him I would be arrested if the money wasnt returned by march 1st and charged with a felony! For spending my own money and for stealing a card that was in his pocket! Them they told me I could still use the checking info to pay bills online, it was declined. So I called back and was told 100 more times it was no problem with the sccount, I was informed I couldnt touch a penny until the new card gets here in another week! Never again

I purchased Turbo Tax business to file my taxes but am unable to file electronically or print as it errors out every time I get to printing 8879.
I have sent numerous emails and messages and no help. Your customer service is the worst I've ever experienced. It is actually nonexistent - talk to a computer who can't help you. All I would like is to speak to an operator asap. I have been a loyal turbotax customer for 10 years but am thinking of halting that. I need to file my partnership returns and am not getting any help here.

There is no free tax filing with turbo tax if you itemize deductions so you have to upgrade to plus at $29.99 (with discount) then you are forced to upgrade to deluxe at $49.99 (with discount) as there is no option to stay plus to print and file. On top of that you have to pay for state tax $39.99 which is advertised as free. Then there is tax to be paid on top of the total. So the free taxes advertised by turbo tax cost me $100.

I have been doing my taxes through turbo tax for the past 6, 7 years and this time around I deside to use the green dot prepaid card 😲 omg what a mistake now turbo tax or whoever don't know yet, had me with 2 different account info and I was send the one card with the wrong info now my state tax is being paid to the one account I didn't know nothing about into I start to look through my tax paper to find out turbo tax put the wrong info in my tax return and now I figured it out and is being corrected and I am being send the right card with the right info but my complaint is if I would it not have check nobody would of find out and me still waiting and my money was being deposited to the wrong account. Turbo tax this was a huge mistake. Now I have to soffer with no money for 7 to 10 days which I could of being avoided if the person the put this info in was paying attention to his/her job. Because the customer don't the bank info into you guys put that info in. Now I'm broke. Help pls
filing taxes — free???
Our name is fidel & nancy moreno. We filed our taxes through (intuit) turbo tax absolutely free. That is a big laugh. There is nothing free about it. We had completed everything then all of a sudden it said we couldn't file for free. For 39.99 we could continue to file so we decided fine, then they charged us another 39.99 for both state & federal then they also charged us for e-filing. Which wasn't stated. You suck people in then you stab them in the back. You are greedy and money hungry but believe me when I say I will never recommend your services to anyone.in fact if I hear anyone say they are going to file with you, I will make sure they don't. You need to change your absolutely free because that is false advertising. We live month to month and the 117.? You took from us could have bought a few extra groceries. I want to file a complaint about a tax penalty which Turbotax charged me on my 2015 Tax Return. I have attached my 2015 Form 1040 with this complaint. Please notice the $204.00 penalty on Line 79. I have also attached a copy of the 2015 Form 1040 Instructions for Line 79. Please note the Exception which I have underlined. I don't have to pay a penalty if I had no tax shown on my 2014 tax return. I have attached a copy of my 2014 Form 1040A which shows that I paid no tax in that year. Turbotax also figured my 2014 return. The software fix for Turbotax would be to ask the user if he or she paid any tax in the prior year before slapping them with a penalty. In the meantime, Turbotax owes me $204.00. My contact information is below.

software glitch
I found a glitch in the software in the dependent section. I had a fully qualified full time student, age 23 with an late year income of 15K. The software said she was not a dependent because she made over $4050. Sorry that is for relatives that you are supporting NOT a child! I talked to the first tech, she was totally clueless. Did not know anything. Was just pulling answers out of the air. I called again and the tech knew exactly what I meant and said yes, it is an error. He had to pass me on to Technical Support, she too was clueless. I had to teach her the dependent rules. She finally understood what I was talking about and tried to tell me how to correct the error. After hanging up, I tried to resolve like she said. IT DID NOT WORK! The error now has cost me $1500. I would have to jump through hoops to fix this! I WILL NEVER USE TURBOTAX AGAIN! 2 out of 3 techs did not know what they were talking about. Pretty sad when the customer knows more than the employees. Thanks Turbotax! Will you refund me $1500 that I lost?

I decided to file my taxes with turbo tax this year because they said it would be free. Of course after going through the process I found out the product was not going to be free. In my own negligence I filed anyway BUT opted out of the turbo tax plus option. It then said that I could not take the fees out of my tax refund if I mailed it in. So i processed my debit card and after the transaction went through it stated that I signed up for Turbo tax plus when I did not! All I am asking is the same as every other complaint Ive seen about this issue! I just want the 39.99 back that you stole from me!

I normally do self employment on my taxes but this year I only had W-2's. Turbo tax customer service charged me for self employment and gave me no other option when filing which one I wanted to file because I did not need self employed this year. I call customer service and they said I can not be refunded. I have filed with this company for years and this will be my last. I also do other's taxes using them which I will no longer use. They have no customer service and happy to rip someone off knowing they did not file self employed.
charged more to file than approved
I was charged more than what I approved to file my taxes. I was charged additional 44.98, and the system continued to freeze, not submit my 6 digit code in a timely matter, it took additional 3 hours to get the code in a timely matter. Even called in and spent 40 minutes on the phone with no help from them. Turbo tax skipped the approval process when I finally got back in and billed me 111.98 instead of the 71.00
inability of customer support reactivate an account
I spent two and half hours on the line trying to revive my account after is was closed for "fraud indicators." No indicating was provided to me of what the fraud indicators. I called the 1st time. They told me to submit an ID. I did and received an email indicating the account was reactivated. I attempted to login and did not work.
I called the first operator to explain this. One hour and no action. I demanded to talk a supervisor. A supervisor came on the line and asked me to submit my ID and generated a new ticket. She indicated she would monitor it and provided my new ticket number. I received not call back from her. I then attempted to contact that supervisor. She was no where to be found. The first customer support is inept at the first line level.
In summary, my account has been deactivated for no reason explained and Turbotax support is unable to reactivate it. I wasted several hours on the phone and got no solution. I used turbotax for many years, but not anymore. This is not even a tax issue!
Same here, and it's December 2019. Be aware, that If you open an online account with Intuit/Turbotax, there is a high chance that one day your account will disappear and no one on the Turbotax side would be able to help you because their internal Skynet overpowered all humans there.
I had same problem, but I've spent DAYS trying to get them to reactiviate my account. One agent said it couldn't happen and a few days later another agent went through and "fixed our account" because the email was wrong, but I received an email that said they still can't reactivate our account. It's so frustrating because there are no reasons given for the deactivation and all our past returns and information has been lost.

Terrible software. I have used turbotax for 10 years. It always was fast and easy. The tax forms u filled out were just like the 1040 and 1040a forms / this made it very easy to use/ the 2017 turbo tax forms are a joke. I cant figure out how to input the info and where it goes; I made a mistake and tried to clear it and it wouldn't let me because I had paid already."to get a better price" this is a terrible tax preparation business. They need to go back to the way it was before if they expect to keep customers/

inaccurately completing my tax return
I am VERY disappointed with Turbotax. I live abroad most of the year so filing electronically is the best way for us. I went with the supposedly best tax site. While filling out my return they claimed that I had a "special" situation which would mean I would have to pay for a more expensive version of the software which we did. However, I received a letter from the IRS, after Turbotax submitted my return, saying that there were forms missing/incomplete. It was sent to my family in the US(since I don't have a permanent address abroad) so I didn't see it right away and the IRS only gives a month to send the required data. Now I have to deal with a tedious process of downloading/completing/sending these documents to my family so they can send it all in with IRS letter. This is not something I should have to do when I'm paying for a tax service. How does a professional tax service miss this information?! Next year I will be looking at other options for filing my taxes.
customer service is horrible
There were several issues with Turbo Tax during the 1st week of April 2017. Upon my 1st contact with customer service I asked for Desktop Premier software and the rep sent me the code for the internet software instead. He apologized and then it took another 20 minutes to correct it. He also assured me that there would be no charge to electronic file my state returns in this package, which turned out to be NOT TRUE when I got to finalizing my returns a few days later to electronic file. SO I HAD TO SPEND ANOTHER 2 HRS. calling back in to try and straighten it out with a supervisor who couldn't figure it out and said sorry but it was past the Mar. 15 deadline for free state returns. After much irritation, frustration and a waste of valuable time I had to physically drive to my state tax office and get the state PIT-1 forms to fill out by hand because as I had told the supervisor my printer was broken and had no way to print my returns. I was told that for all the bad service as a customer courtesy to me I would receive next years software FREE of charge for federal and state. The Turbo Tax case # was [protected]-----Wed., April 5, 2017 I have the email from Turbo Tax with some of the above info. that can be forwarded to the appropriate parties.
"free filing service" and deluxe edition
I tried TurboTax several years ago when I had one simple W2. I filed free, spoke to an agent when I had a question and thought it was ok. So, when I had to wait until the last minute because I didn't receive several W2s, I decided to just use TurboTax since I already had an account with them. First, they keep trying to trick you into paying for upgrades with pop-ups and promises of live agents, etc. When I successfully navigated through to free version, I was looped around transportation expenses several times because they have incorrect wording. "Did you sell or stop using vehicle for business in 2016?" I didn't sell. But their software only gives follow-up questions for sale/depreciation.
I tried to just not bother to claim my expenses but my only options were: Start over. From scratch. Or pay $54.99+$35.99 for Deluxe, because vehicle sale required an additional form - I DID NOT SELL MY CAR! Since Deluxe included speaking to an agent and I didn't know if I could start over and not have the same or another glitch - I paid. Now try to find any possible way to contact that promised agent! No phone number - actually they give the IRS phone number only! And no chat option! Just looping endlessly through their ridiculous customer question forums! If I wanted Tax advice from another confused taxpayer - I have friends and family! I made $7000 all year! I live below poverty and TurboTax gets paid to screw up a return that I could have done alone!
return calculations
I filed my income taxes using TurboTax for a fee of $101.00. The final calculations came out to my having to pay back $9, 099 to the government. I couldn't see how that could have been possible. It bothered me for days. I finally decided to have my taxes reviewed and it was discovered that TurboTax made a grave mistake. In the end I had to file an amended tax return costing me another $211.oo, but at least I am getting money back from the government. I am so annoyed at all the money I had to put out especially the cost of the TurboTax filing.
turbotax messed up and now delayed and getting paper check
To my surprise of not getting refund I called Irs and turbo tax screwed up and do you think they offered to help? Nope lady was rude and acted like it was my fault! I need my refund as soon as possible and these people don't care. It's already 2 weeks past being here and I have another week to go before they are sending it. Was told no supervisor or any person I can speak to for help. So I think being there fault they need to deposit my refund asap
incredibly bad customer service!!!
I decided to try TurboTax for the convenience of scanning my w-2 and filing Federal and State taxes at the same time. Everything seemed to work fine until, after providing my payment information, I discovered I could not complete the filing process because I cannot find my pin number from last year. TurboTax asked for payment information BEFORE they told me I had no e-filing option without the pin number. I am scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning, so I had to quickly complete a paper form and mail a check ( I'll be convalescing past the April 18th deadline). My taxes are not complicated-I used TurboTax for the promised convenience, which quickly disappeared when I reached out to their "Customer Service" department. After 15-20 minutes of waiting for someone to track down a solution, I was told by the representative and then his supervisor that I paid $29.95 to use the software to figure out that I owed $17 in state taxes and that I could not be refunded. I was then told that this was company policy and there was no one else I could talk about the charges. My complaint was not with the software, which I didn't need to calculate my taxes, but in the profoundly bad customer service I was experiencing and their utter lack of concern for me as a customer. I will never use Turbotax again! Beware...

Apparently Turbo Tax never fixed this problem - AGI not matching when trying to file E return. They say it is an IRS problem. I had to file by mail and was told IRS would correct the issue if I filed by mail. So, mad dash to USPS. As of 10/15/19 per extension. Will not be using Turbo tax again.
