TurboTax wont give me my refund!

Me & my hubby recieved our card, activated it than put it up until the date of my refund. I woke up on that morning called the card to find my card closed for no reason! When I called Customer Service they said it must of went to wrong address or we canceled it but niether happened! Then they made us go fax all our personal info, copies of our ids, ss cards, and proof of address and after all that they still wont release our refund until thier review is over usually a week or more! We didnt do anything wrong. I talked to the bank who sends the refunds to the card & they said if there was a problem the card company should of released our refund back to them than theyd issue a paper check but they r not doing it! TT Card has our $7000 & we want it back! Ive used Turbotax for years but this is insane! Be careful if u have your refund put on thier card!

Turbo tax card sucks ###, I've had the card since last year and I just went to check this year cause it had a balance on it that I was trying to save... Well it was closed on Jan 4th 2013 and I've called turbotax number on back of card multiple times and the only thing they tell me is my card was closed for security issues and was sent back to the IRS! I've called the IRS and they have no record of it, they said try the state so I called them and they have no record of it! WTF... This is ###! How can these people only give me an answer of your account was closed for security reasons and not tell me why or who exactly they sent the money too... ###s!

My issue is a little different. I took the card (after receiving a text that our money had been transferred to our account this AM (4/20/12)) and went to my bank to have the funds from the card transferred to my bank accounts. The bank told me that there is a fee attached to this transaction, and the bank has not been informed what the fee is. When the bank tries to initiate the transaction the response is that the "transaction is invalid". The bank has no idea what the fees or how much it is. There is no schedule anywhere that indicates what this transaction fee is, and there is no "live" body to talk with to determine what is going on. I'm expected to pay to get MY money?

i am having the same issue. They told me be ause of security reasons my card was closed and I needed to fax in a copy of my id, ss card, and a bill still the accoun has not been reopened. This is the biggest scam I've seen in years and the gov't nor the attorney general are doing anything about it. Holding everyones funds is helping them ti gain a large amount of interest. Never use the card.

it makes me sick to my stomach to see how many people are going through this as i search online looking for answers. turbotax locks our cards then asks us to send in very personal and sensitive information and after we do this they still dont unlock our cards! if i send you a copy of my drivers license, social security card and a bill in my name what more could you possibly need to re-open my account! once they get our info they should instantly reopen our card! i will never use turbotax again and i am going to tell everyone i know not to use turbotax! and i will be contacting my local news station and newspaper which i suggest anyone going through this should! we need to stand together and file a class action lawsuit and hold them accountable!

TurboTax misleading charges

Purchased Turbotax to do return because it stated free returns on federal. I completed the software install and filled in the forms for the taxes. on submission, it is misleading on how you get a refund. I selected direct deposit vs a prepaid card. When forms were submitted and printed, i see a charge of 29.95 for bank fees and 19.95 for turbo tax fees. These were not explained in the return and no where can i find in the software why i was charges especially since it states free filing. Very Very misleading.

The $19.95 fee is for the basic package. I'm getting charged $36.95 to file my state taxes with turbo tax, and I go through this every year. Somewhere along the line you selected that you want to file using their basic package which is not their free package. Once you select that they make it extremely difficult to deselect it, "every year."

When you need to file a state it costs extra money.

all the fees are clearly stated on their website:

http://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/compare.jsp

The $19.95 was for your state filing. Turbotax charges a fee regardless of the form you choose to file a state retrurn.

From their website: "Additional fees apply for efiling state returns ($19.95)."

next year when you do your federal taxes, I would recommend using the Freefile fillable forms recommended by the IRS. I have used them for several years and it is 100% free and you get your refund within a couple weeks.

https://www.freefilefillableforms.com/FFA/Gateway/FED.htm

as far as your state taxes, most companies charge extra for e-filing those. Depending on your state, you may qualify for free e-filing. You would need to check your state's department of revenue website for more information on that.

TurboTax I will never use them again

I filed for my taxes on February of 2011 on the 20th. My filing for the taxes was to be taken out of Turbo then deposited into my checking. I did receive my State but I called and called the IRS about my Federal. Just received an email today FINALLY from the IRS that it will be deposited before April 19, 2011 into my checking. Turbo never took there money out they took it out of my checking which overdrew my account! Then I never received my Federal payment. Did not credit the checking at all! Now, I have to go down to my bank and cover the charges that Turbo Tax did not take out of my Federal payment! I will never do Turbo Tax again. When I get back I am going to call Turbo Tax and ask them WHY they did what they did!

This is the second complaint I have filed and can get no answers or resolutions. I have used Turbo Tax for three years and have had small problems before but this year is one big screw up on the part of TURBO TAX. I am now trying to file a complaint with IRS about the service I have received this year.

I filed, the first time, on March 3, 2012. Was told that it had been sent. A few days later I received a notice that it had been rejected. I went to Turbo Tax and made all the corrections that I was asked to make. Again, I was told that it had been filed. About a week latter I received the message it had been rejected. AGAIN, I pulled up my tax file and made the corrections as you instructed and AGAIN the note said it had been filed. Later, I received a THIRD notice that it had been rejected. AGAIN! I made the corrections and Turbo Tax said it had been rejected.

After all this I found there is NO WAY to find information about Turbo Tax that allows me to speak to someone and find out what is going on, either by phone or computer. Now we are on April 5th and my tax form has not been sent. Not even going to try to contact Turbo Tax any longer but will pursue filling a complaint with the Government some way.l

I will NEVER use TURBO TAX again and will tell everybody else I know about my experience. Your help department has been no help at all, because I could find no way to reach them, until today.

Just wanted to let you know what I think of your company after this year. I am mailing my tax return tomorrow. I should have already received my return by now but thanks to your NON HELP, guess it will be six weeks before I receive it.

TurboTax nightmare

I used turbo tax online to do my taxes myself. What a nightmare. Filing for federal was free, and state taxes is a little over $30. I lived and worked in New York and Mass that year and so it cost over $60 to do it myself. Plus I accidentally clicked "deduction maximizer" which charged me an extra $10. Ok. That was my fault. So total was $76. I dont own property, im single, no kids, blah blah just had a couple of W2 forms to file.

An error came up at the end saying I could not file my MA state return electronically because in MA if you are a part year resident you have to mail in your forms. No big deal. Right? It told me to print out and follow the directions but the directions told me I e-filed and no further action was needed. Checking on the status, however, my MA return did not appear. I tried it a million different ways with the same result. What the *!@^?
So I contacted customer service. I told them I can not efile with my MA return I just needed to know what to do. After and hour of ### of these people who had NO idea what was going on, asking pointless questions and going in circles, I realized that there must have been some weird malfunction on their site that caused it to print out saying I had efiled. They kept making me check how the status was and transfered me around and no results. Said they could do nothing for me. I paid $76 and they can't do anything!

I ended up calling some revenue department or something in MA and a guy was like, here's an address just send x y and z and your all set. Took me 5 min to get my damn answer.

I will NEVER use turbo tax online again. Not only does it not work properly, customer service SUCKS.

California has a usage tax line on it's return - they want you to pay the state tax that Amazon refuses to collect (another story) and I'm just so square that I pay it. Turdo Tax says, try both options to see which calculation is best before choosing a box. I do that, I check my box. No mention of it in the "review your stuff" thing. Then, after I pay (thereby voiding the accuracy guarantee) I see that the amount is wrong -turns out they added together the results in either method. So I spend too much time in chat with some alleged enrolled agent who tells me "it only applies to autos" "it doesn't apply to individuals" "It is not a tax you pay, it is a itemized deduction" "it doesn't apply because your business (I don't have one) is in California"...all of which I knew was wrong because I can read the instructions for the form.
So:
Glitch in system -checking the box doesn't work - FAIL
Online chat "help" - Help! FAIL
Me for spending way too much time over this -ALSO FAIL

TurboTax scam

Hello, Last week I was checking my emails on g-mail and there was an ad serves ad stating Receive a GUARANTEED $2, 642 on your next Federal Tax Refund!I used Turbo Tax last year so I thought why not check it out knowing that it was probably untrue. It was just a link to Turbo Tax.

After thinking about it I got really mad knowing that I was not the only person that was duped. This is not a fair practice and companies that use this type of marketing should Be fined the maximum. The economy is bad enough without big companies scamming people during tax season. This is wrong and I think the people should know a bout Turbo Tax and the scams they Try to get away.

I filed a complaint with the BBB of Silicon valley, home of Intuit Turbo Taxes parent company.

Just FYI, there is no way to guarantee a refund amount of any size to anyone sight unseen. Without knowing your tax liability, amounts withheld from your pay, and other case-specific information, there's no way to calculate it. Unless of course you have the ability to read minds and predict the future. It's a very uncool advertising practice for Turbo Tax, clearly.

TurboTax glitch in their program

I've used Turbo Tax for 4 years. The first two years worked out fine since I could transfer all of my stock and bond info into the program automatically. Last year I received a notice from IRS saying that the income I reported on my 2008 return was inaccurate. I contacted Turbo via e-mail (no human voice to talk to) and was told I had put the information in wrong. I did 08 return again and informed Turbo it was a glitch in their program and I wanted to be reimbursed for the interest I owed the IRS as well as the charge for purchasing their faulty program. NO SATISFACTION I just received notice from the IRS on my 2009 taxes whereby the same exact problem has occurred and I owe IRS plus interest. I agree that with all the complaints against this company a class action lawsuit should be filed, and I don't say this lightly as I don't really believe in suing your brother. In hindsight I should have checked Turbo taxes figures but that is not what I PAID FOR. I put my trust in this company to be fair and accurate as they advertise if they were in error I could expect my purchase refunded. This is the first complaint I have ever lodged against any company or person. BEWARE CONSUMER DO NOT USE TURBO TAX. I've written a letter to the IRS NOT TO ACCEPT returns from this company AND HAVE ALSO CONTACTED MY INVESTMENT COMPANY TO STOP DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS SHODDY OUTFIT. They could never reimburse me for the fear, aggravation, frustration, and hours spent trying to settle this issue both with the IRS and Turbo.

TurboTax $90.00 rip off!

Turbo is suppose to be "free"...why is it then I had to pay $90.00 on a refund of $300.00? It would not let me file my federal taxes BUT yet they still charged me $49.00+ and $39.00+ for e-filing! What gives TT?

I want my money back if you are not going to file my federal. Sheesh, I want ALL my money back since this is suppose to be free. It says start for "free", okay, so I typed my name in, is that all I get for the "free" version?

I will not be using this service again if they cannot stick to what is described in all their ads. Turbo Tax Free Version, where is it?

TurboTax incorrect calcualtion taxes

I have my taxes done at H and R Block every year. This past year my 17 year old daughter got her first job. I showed the representative her W-2 wage and income statement from 2010. She indicated that she didn't make very much money $4, 400 to be exact and that she she would get a full refund. I went on the IRS web site and clicked on e file. The IRS had several free programs. I clicked on the Turbo Tax web site and the Turbo Tax showed a full federal return. Turbo Tax then calculated the Minnesota state taxes and it showed that she owed $90.00. I was a little surprised so I went back and put the information in again. Still $90.00. Not a lot of money to pay, but my tax agent told me should should get a full refund. I decided to do her taxes manually both federal and state using the standard 1040 from. My calculations indicated that she was due a full refund. I went on the Irs web site and clicked on E file. I selected another company I put in Tax Hawk. The calulations showed a full refund on both state and federal. I submitted my return through Tax Hawk. I don't know if they have problems with their software...Heads up.. Try a couple different online taxes services before submitting your return..

I just received a notice from the state of NJ and I have sevral errors on my NY and NJ returns. The information is supposed to be pulled automatically and I ovepaid taxes on about $9K of dividends not taxed in NY but the system added it. In addition I owe about 400 dollars to NJ. I am trying to amend a return and I have been on hold for over an hour. It took me 20 minutes to get their phone number. Do not use this company. I would have saved over $1, 000.00 dollars had I not used this garbage software package that they have. I might actually start paying someone to do my taxes so I don't have to deal with this.

TurboTax credit card charged before telling you you can't efile

The main reason I want to do my taxes online is to be able to efile. I expect that when my tax return is completely filled out and an online tax service like TurboTax tells me that I'm done, that I'll be able to efile. TurboTax online supposedly does a check of the tax return info and then allows you to move forward to charge your credit card and efile. But it charges your card AND THEN does one final check. In my case that final check turned up a specific date in my return, the sale date for a donated car, that does not allow me to efile. I have to print out my forms and mail them in this situation. If that's the case then I need to know that BEFORE my credit card is charged, not after. Then I can decide to abort the whole thing since I know that I cannot efile. As it is now I've had to call support once, get disconnected, call support again to explain, then be told that I need to wait a day before I have to call a third time to get my charges reversed.

TurboTax overcharge

1. They said the federal filing was free, then they charged me 29.99 and also charged me the same for the state. They lied and cheated about the cost. They wait until you are done and then want your credit card number, and you don't know what you are paying until you give them that. Scam! I did this because it showed up on the Comcast front page - what a ripoff!
2. The tax form was inaccurate. I got "penalized" for not having insurance, and although I entered the subscriber that the form needed, it was like I had no insurance when in fact I did (through my employer) all last year. I should not have been penalized. Three past years I used TaxAct but I thought I would try this company. Compared to Tax Act I was overcharged by 100%. NEVER AGAIN! But, it is taxes, so I got screwed 3 ways.

TurboTax wrong tax return sent to irs & excessive fees

I created the start of my return online FREE Edition with Turbo Tax (TT) and thought it upgraded to Deluxe, but after they filed and I signed release to third party to withdraw from my checking, they took $59.90 for a simple return. When IRS deposited my refund it was much higher than what I claimed to be filed with them. I learned TT kept record of my initial return (completed Monday), not yet sent. The next day (Tuesday) when I revised my return and much prior to TT processing and sending it out to IRS 2 weeks later, TT sent the Monday return and not the Tuesday revised correct return to IRS. I had to amend my entire return and owed IRS money. This clearly was no fasult of my own and TT is at fault. When I spoke to Rodney tonight (March 12, 2011) he dodged the ball and tried real hard for me to read what he felt was a useful enlightening article produced by TT, which had nothing at all to do with my issue. He said there was no phone number, no address or email to send a complaint letter to and actually ignored my chat when I stated I wanted a refund for services not rendered and having to amend my return due to their fault. Eventually I ended the session after being ignored by IM.

I had an experience about Tax free service in Portugal airport. I bought clothes and I get tax free document. It was just 13 euros. I went to custom after check in and I said that I wore what I bought. He didnt believe me. He said that I should have show to him instead of wearing. Finally he didnt stamp and I couldnt took my tax payments. They should put notices that "dont wear if you buy something with tax free shopping".

TurboTax direct deposit refund screw-up

We have been using Turbo Tax online to file our taxes electronically for several years. We filed for 2010 and had a sizeable refund coming for both federal and state. We asked for direct-deposit to our same bank as we had in previous years. After a couple of months, the refunds had not arrived so we checked with the IRS. They said the funds had been electronically refunded weeks earlier. We then checked our tax return printout and were alarmed to see that the bank information was not correct. We eventually found out that the routing number was for JP Morgan/Chase Bank (even though we bank with B of A) and that the account number portion was an invalid account. This was months ago, and after countless hours on the phone with the IRS, the California Franchise Tax Board, JP Morgan-Chase, and Turbo Tax, we feel like we are no where nearer to getting things resolved. So Turbo Tax was absolutely no help. They said they sometimes scramble the bank account numbers between years (normally all of our profile info is retained year-to-year) "for our security", and basically said it is not their problem and that we need to take it up with the IRS. The IRS apparently has no way after the fact retrieve any detailed information about which account number funds were transferred to. They cannot even tell us whether the transfer bounced back or went through. And JP Morgan Chase understandable is confused as to their involvement since we do not even bank with them. But they have verified that the account number is not nor ever would have been a valid account number, so that the transfer should never have gone through. But that info apparently is not enough for the IRS to send us a new check, since they cannot verify for themselves that the funds never went out. We are starting to wonder what it will take to get our refund.

TurboTax scam

I have used TurboTax for the past several years and have always been quite pleased with it. This year, I have even been using its free, on-line service called "ItsDeductible, " which allows you to track all kinds of charitable donations and attaches government-approved dollar values to them.

I was thinking about purchasing TurboTax on-line this year instead of buying a disk with all that packaging material that just gets discarded (or recycled, as appropriate).

So I went on-line to check it out.

Be cautious and pay attention to the costs if you want to download the program vs. buying the disk.

To download the TurboTax Deluxe version, the cost is $29.95. Then, to download the State version, that will cost an additional $36.95. Total download cost is $66.90.

To buy the traditional CD via the website, that will cost $59.95 -- and the State version is included!

I can't say that is the same for the other versions. And I do know they have a free, basic version (but you still need to buy the State version).

I find it a little disheartening that it would cost more to download the Deluxe programs than to buy the CDs with all that nasty packaging no one needs.

Seems like it makes sense that it would always be cheaper to offer something via download than to offer it on a disk with the expensive packaging, but I don't own the business, so what do I know?

I love TurboTax and know they can charge whatever they want. I have every intention of buying the software today. I will go to Costco where it will be cheaper than the $59.95 -- PLUS I will get to use a $10-off coupon there, so that's great!

Just be cautious when doing your own shopping!

I filed my 2010 tax return this year with Turbotax, as I have for several years past. I had expected my refund today, February 11. However, when I checked my checking account, the money was not in there. I had to check a secondary company's website, which informed me I had to contact Turbotax regarding my refund. When I called the 800 number provided, the "gentleman" on the other end of the line informed me, in no uncertain terms, that Turbotax had incorrectly filed an entire BATCH of refunds, and as a result, I would be receiving my refund via check. The "gentleman" also informed me that there was no recourse, nor was there anything that could be done on their end.

My story is much the same as the ones I've read here...did my 2008 taxes using Turbo Tax. All seemed fine until two years later when I received the notice from the IRS that I owed them $600 for not reporting state tax refund income and retirement income. Looked at my copy of the return printed from Turbo Tax and the state refund is clearly there on my copy, but not on the one the IRS got...hmmmm. Class action suit sounds like a pretty good idea to me. I also find it disturbing that, when I pulled up this consumer affairs page to read complaints about Turbo Tax, the first thing I see at the top is an ad for Turbo Tax along with a link to their web page!

On November 9th while checking my bank account I noted a recurring withdrawal for $64.15 from intuit. I called the number listed [protected] and talked to a representative who told me I never authorized an automatic renewal and should not have been charged. I called Suntrust bank and they sent through a disputed request, the next day that charge was not on my account. However on November 19th; ten days after the representative from Intuit told me they would refund my money and cancel the Turbo Tax Advantage I was again charged for $64.15 on my account. I called the number *** *** ****. After a lengthy menu and much confusion I talked to Ashwini who could not understand English, could not find my account, kept asking me for an order number even though I explained several times that I did not order anything. She told me a CD had been recently mailed to me which I have not received. I then talked to "a supervisor" Shankar who again told me I would receive a credit in my account within the next 3-5 days. My question is this why would they again charge my account 10 days after my first phone call and why would they mail me a CD several days after my first phone call unless they are trying to slip this through my account?

TurboTax messed up my 2008 taxes

T.T. prepared my taxes last year (2008) and put in that I paid $2, 189.083.00 in real estate tax. Their software did not catch it, I did not catch it (as this is what I paid them for) and the IRS did not catch it. I was refunded $4200 back and now received a letter from the IRS that there was an error in my 2008 taxes, and that I now owe them the $4200 back plus interest and penalty. I called TT and they gave me a site to file a complaint, but it is a non-existent place to go file a complaint form.

Bogus complain. Turbo Tax is not the same as hiring a tax professional. What you're paying for is software to e-file your return, nothing more.

I have never had an issue with TT. They stand behind their product. Try calling again and talk to a supervisor and keep calling until they get it right!

How is their fault when you entered the numbers? How the hell can it outguess what you put in there? Take responsibility and grow up.

TurboTax could not print ssa copies of w-2's and 1099's

After I entered all of the data to print w-2's and 1099's into Turbo Tax Business 2010 I was unable to print the copies that are sent to the Social Security Administration because they did not offer the option to print without the lines and text. This is necessary because the forms that go to the IRS must be on their pink forms - you know - the forms from the dark ages. Turbo Tax support was useless. The live community - again - useless. The business version did not even offer the option of e-filing to avoid having to use the IRS forms.

I had to enter the date all over again in another program that allowed e-filing.

TurboTax I will never use them again

Turbo Tax On Line cumputed we had paid excess social security tax and entered a credit on our 2008 federal return. Letter from IRS arrived 11-12-2010. It seems Turbo Tax combined social security tax paid (we both work) on our W2's to my husband. The goverment now wants the money back. I trusted Turbo Tax to cumput the information entered correctly. We have never had any problems with our taxes before not in 43 years. We will find someone else to do our taxes in the future. It seems 2008 was a bad year for mess ups at Turbo Tax as we weren't the only ones the happened to. I will never use them again.

I will never use them again either. I put down for both my Federal and State Taxes to be direct deposit. The web site said that both are filed and with direct deposit. When I downloaded the info to save my forms; the forms said that I would receive my Federal Refund in a paper check in FOUR to FIVE weeks! I was so pissed! I called them and waited forever; they had no answers; told me I cold call the IRS when my forms were accepted. I don't think the customer service rep had any idea of what she was doing! I asked for a refund; it took forever for her to do it. They said the refund for the services would take up to 90 DAYS! THEY SUCK...don't use them.
I used Tax Act without any problems in the past. I tried Turbo Tax because the websites said they were number one; so I decided to give it a try! I wish I had investigated further before using them. I really needed my refund sooner than FOUR to FIVE weeks this year!

TurboTax bad service

I have my turbotax online account,

recently when i tried to logged into my account, my password was not working, i tried to reset the password and I noticed turbotax is sending password reset link to some different email address, it was not my registered email address.
So the issue is someone hacked into online turbotax account, changed the registered email address, changed the security questions. By doing this they got hands on all my 10 years tax document, which consist of my and my son social security number and other confidential information.
To my surprise turbotax.com did not even send me email before making such a big changes and still they do not have any record about my email address in that particular account.

I am questioning major security flaws in turbotax.com product.

TurboTax overpayment in my refund

I received a notice from the IRS saying I owe $458.00 for my 2008 tax return filed with TurboTax. I have requested nearly 3 weeks ago to have TurboTax review the calculating error the sofware made and have not heard a word. I put in the exact amount of of my 1099-g and the software added 10% tax to my total tax withheld, which then caused an additional overpayment in my refund. When I reviewed my documents and tax return vs what the IRS shows to be the actual amount, one can clearly see the error TurboTax software made.
