TurboTax Online website

I had been using Turbo tax for a number of years and always file using the standard filing system. My 2021 filing kept directing me to the "Deluxe Edition" which I did not want and there was no way to back click out. I have tried emailing and calling only to be direct to the FAQ section which doesn't resolve the problem. I have written Twice last year wanting my Full Refund from the Deluxe Edition which I didn't want. I have yet to receive any kind of and answer from your company. I want my Money That you have kept fort a product I never wanted.

Desired outcome: Full Refund

TurboTax I would like an explanation and what the exact claim if fraud is.

I need to file a couple of years back taxes. I bought and downloaded the 2019 software with no problems. I filled out the forms and mailed everything off today.

I went back online this afternoon to buy the 2021 software and was not able to process my payment.

I contacted customer support and was told that my account was closed for fraud. I asked to talk to a supervisor to help resolve the problem. The supervisor at first told me that the notes on the account didn't make any sense. Then he abruptly to me that I was no longer allowed to use Intuit or TurboTax products and hung up the phone on me.

I am completely shocked.

TurboTax TurboTax

To be honest TurboTax used to be a great site I never had any problems with them until they stop doing business with the government and doing business with other companys it's been 11 months since I was supposed to have my refund and I still don't have it every time I call someone they tell me to call the other company and the other company tell me to call back to the company I just talk to any of that feels they'll tell me to call the IRS but the IRS has already sent me proof that they have my money and they even said they have my money but since there's so many companies it makes it impossible to get your money back because they're just giving you the running around you can never get a straightforward answer

Desired outcome: Still without my money

TurboTax Fix it

Amazing to report that their web site does not work properly. I have been trying to update my credit card information and all I get are forms that, once filled out, do not process to the next step. When you call tech support you cannot talk to a person and there are no options to do so.

I hate to say it that after so many years with Intuit, I may have to change companies.

I'm in the same boat as you , heck I cant remember last time I didn't use them. Last year though when they paid me, they did it through a 3rd party which took like $200-300 for some fee. Only thing I can say is at least I got my money, I hear A lot of people didn't. Not sure what or Where Ill go this year

TurboTax Charged me a $59 fee to expedite filing my taxes on 4/15/22, didn't do it, and didn't tell me until 2 weeks later

I paid Turbo Tax a $59 fee to expedite my tax return on April 15th, 2022. I expected that my taxes would be filed as there were no problems reported in their website app. I didn't find out until two weeks later that in fact my taxes were not filed on April 15th, 2022 at all. I was given vague and unsatisfactory answers as to why. However, at no point did Turbo Tax offer to refund my $59 fee which they have kept to this day, October 13th, 2022, no doubt collecting a small amount of interest on my money which I could have collected myself had the money been returned to me. Additionally, as a neurodivergent, chronically ill and vulnerable person, I feel that Turbo Tax has taken advantage of me in their lack of communications about my tax situation and returning my money to me. My income in 2021 was just over $17K, entirely from government subsidies during the pandemic. I owe approximately $273 in taxes. I am just over the poverty line, and I am a minority (Asian American). I also identify as a they/them. I am not in a place, emotionally, physically, or financially, to be put under any more stress considering the fact that I have been too physically ill to work this year so far, and have suffered societally in other ways. I am extremely disappointed in this corporation, which seems to profit massively, yet provides deceptive services, in my case at the very least. I called on 10/13/2022, was on hold for 18 minutes, the background music of their call-waiting system was very triggering to my misophonia, and I never was able to speak to a supervisor as I was told they were unavailable. I will follow up this complaint with complaints to any associations Turbo Tax belongs to, perhaps an open letter to The Mercury News, the MV Online, Complaints Board online, where Turbo Tax is ranked in the Top 10 Worst Companies, and anyone else I can find, including VC backers and shareholders.

Desired outcome: Refund of my $59, filing my taxes before the IRS deadline or if it's missed, they pay all interest and penalties

TurboTax Refund my $149.00

I filed my income tax with Turbo Tax after receiving information from Uber that Turbo Tax had a special for Uber and Door Dash Drivers. since the gas nd car usage are gray areas for deducting taxes, I jumped on this special deal

I completed my taxes and electronically submitted them. . I did agree to have the fees deducted from my taxes. I was getting $3638.00 back which I was extremely happy about. However this amount was reduced because I had submitted some incorrect information regarding a stimulus payment.

My taxes were delayed for several months. Then I received a notice from Turbo Tax that the fees of $247.00 would be deducted from my account on 8/6/2022.

I really did not have the money to pay the fees and when I saw how much they said I owed I started checking and complaining that $247.00 seemed a lot of money to pay to get my taxes filed.

The only reason, I used turbo Tax rather than e-file was because I thought I was getting some kind of special deal. I complained in the Turbo chat room, I wrote emails trying to find out why my fees were so high.

It was only after I wrote a scathing review of the company that a customer service agent called me to inquire why I was so angry. I explained that the fee of $247.00 seemed extreme for filing taxes online when there were much cheaper options and I did not receive any special advice.

The customer service agent mentioned that the reason my fees were so high is because I had used "Expert Help or Assistance that costs $149.00.

I asked him to repeat that and explain exactly what that was. he said I had some Live expert come online to help me file my taxes.

I replied that there was never an expert. How did that charge hit my account. I requested a refund because I was confident that with all the technology at Turbo Tax that they could see that I never used an Expert Assistant. So, I requested a refund of the $149.00 and requested and requested. Which is why I am filing this complaint.

Customer Service at Turbo Tax is absolutely the worst. They rely on robots to answer irate calls. These virtual assistants have a difficult time understanding English. My simple name becomes an unrecognizable combination of syllables that are babble! You are not able to talk to a real agent until the robot understands your name which never happens, Just keep hitting the 0 on your phone. Anyway, I am seeking my $149.00 back from Turbo Tax and will never use this company again.

TurboTax TurboTax and pay solutions

I never received my $2,500 refund this year. TurboTax never picked up the phone or answered my emails about this issue. They put down the wrong account and routing number and sent my refund somewhere else. It’s been 8 months and still no refund. The irs is still doing a trace on where my money could have gone, but no luck yet.

I won’t be using TurboTax again or pay solutions which is affiliated with them again. The pay solutions team never amended my return like they promised and never paid my $63 back. They blocked my number when it was time to pay me back. The guy’s name was John and he was an Indian man.

Please be careful, it’s a scam

Desired outcome: Would like to get my money back

Desired outcome: Refund my $212 because I did not receive any services from TurboTax I did all my own papers and receipts and filings. I would never opt for the most expensive service when I do it myself.

TurboTax E-file state income tax

On 4/10/22 I received confirmation via email from TurboTax that my California Personal Return was accepted. Form 8453-OL confirms that the Electronic Funds Withdraw box is marked, amount owed to withdraw, withdraw date 4/18/2022, and correct Checking account routing and account number.

On June 17, 2022 I received a State Income Tax Balance Due Notice from the State of California Franchise Tax Board with a penalty fee with interest added to my total owed. Implicating penalty code B that it had not been paid despite the confirmations I listed above.

I cannot get anyone from Intuit, TurboTax, or the State of California Franchise Tax Board on the phone to remedy this. I will now have to pay the penalty and internet to avoid additional interest and penalties.

Desired outcome: TurboTax confirm it is their fault that I was mislead to believe my e-file payment was taken care of and they reimburse to me the penalty and interest amount the State of California is now requiring me to pay.

TurboTax IRS denied a credit that TurboTax software applied & wants payment returned

TurboTax has a guarantee to cover my problem if their fault. I used TurboTax for my 2020 tax return. I recently got a letter from the IRS that they are denying a $200.00 credit that the software applied, and the IRS wants me to refund them for the $200.00. This credit was 100% applied by the TurboTax software program, not by me. I've tried to call and email. I finally found a site to attach the IRS letter but the page disappeared when I couldn't get the documents attached. I got an email from TurboTax this week (first week of June 2022) and I sent them images of my return and the IRS letter. I got a second email saying they couldn't read them and to re-send. I did this on 6/9/22. I sent many images of all pages, front and back, and again with my 2020 return copy as well. I just got a third email from TurboTax on 6/10/22 saying to go to their page and attach everything, which is what I tried in the first place. I can't get them to co-operate and suspect they are deflecting until I quit. They have a guarantee to pay if they make the error on my return to the IRS. I wrote the IRS a check and paid it while I'm trying to get TurboTax to cooperate and reimburse me. Note: I tried to add images of the tax return and photos of the IRS letter but I got an error message below. If you have an email address I can send them to you.

Desired outcome: TurboTax to reimburse me $200.00 for their software program's error on my 2022 tax return to the IRS that I just paid the IRS for.

TurboTax TurboTax Personal Tax Return

TurboTax defaulted to the standard deduction even though my itemized deductions far exceeded the standard. I had already requested that it use itemized, but when I made a change in my information it defaulted back to standard, which I was unaware of. This did not affect my federal return but had a substantial effect on my Missouri state return, to the tune of about $800 less in refund.

I attempted to use TurboTax to amend the return, but the numbers that resulted were incorrect.

Desired outcome: TurboTax should at least refund to me the cost of their service for this year.

TurboTax Product was bad, the customer "service" was even worse

I picked up Turbo Tax Deluxe (disc version) at a local retail location. My hope was that it would live up to what was advertised and what I had heard about the product. I wanted to be able to efile my taxes AND to make it easier in the future. However, this was not the case. When entering my information into the software, I noticed that when it asked for the AGI, the software would change the amount that I entered. I had not used tax software previously and entered the amount as it was on the forms from the previous year, which was also submitted to the IRS. So, after I tried to efile, I received an email and text that the return was rejected by the IRS. I followed the instructions that were provided and found again, the software would NOT accept the information I entered. After 40 min on hold and a horrible phone tree, I finally was able to speak with Eric in customer service. He explains that tax software rounds up and that there is a "workaround" in place for this issue. He tells me to select that I didn't file last year. Wait a min, isn't that lying to the IRS? He assures me that it is not lying to the IRS and there will be no issue as it is actually a 3rd party. Hold on, if it is a 3rd party, why does the email and text say it was rejected by the IRS? Additionally, why was I not notified that my information was being provided to a 3rd party, this was done without my knowledge OR consent. Eric assures me that there will be no issue and this will work. Reluctantly, I followed his instructions. I also said to him that if I have to print and mail my return, I expect a full refund on the software. He said this would not be a problem. After Eric puched me off the phone (so he wouldn't get in trouble) I received another email and text indicating my return was rejected by the IRS. Fast forward to now, I have been in contact with the Intuit Office of the President, the agent, Candace, which turned out to be one of the most unhelpful customer service agents I have ever encountered. I have emailed the executives that are listed on the Intuit site and have not gotten a response, I sent the email 6 days ago. It has become obvious to me, the culture of horrible customer service starts at the top. I requested a refund on the purchase price of the software AND to have my information removed from the Intuit systems, I also wanted my info removed from the 3rd party system as well. The only response I have received is to submit forms which in turn, puts more of my information into the Intuit system. The last email (which I am considering posting online) informed me that "I appreciate your candid feedback regarding this matter, and I will provide that feedback to our teams so we may continue to improve. I am sorry we could not reach a more mutually agreeable position on this matter; however, this is our final response." So, their final response is to pass the buck and still not resolve the matter at hand. Good job Intuit OOP agent, way to make a first-time customer feel "valued" Since I have worked in customer service for most of my working years, I have a very high expectation from CS agents, especially those working in an escalations dept. If you, as a customer want an easy experience, I strongly urge you to find something other than intuit products since this experience was everything BUT easy.

This issue began in April. To this day, I have not received a response from the executives of the company. Why put your email online if you are not going to respond to a customer?

Desired outcome: I want my refund and my info removed from the systems of Intuit and the 3rd party but, they will not resolve this without me having to put more of my info in their online forms which I have no faith in as being secure.

TurboTax TurboTax aka: Turd-oTax: Now owe money to IRS

I received a letter from the IRS saying that my Recovery Rebate Credit had an error and as such, they changed my return to correct the error. I went from getting a refund of $2012.00 to now owing the IRS $791.29.

Turdo-tax was the the platform that told me that I qualified for this credit that the IRS now says that I didn't. I never would have known about it if not for Turbotax.

When I called TurboTax to bring the letter to their attention and find out what I needed to do, they simply said "Oh, since you paid for TaxAudit, you need to contact them to open a case and they will get you all taken care of." WRONG!

I contacted them, jumped through their hoops to supply everything so that they didn't have to do anything extra, just to have them read the stupid letter and tell me the good news which is that it wasn't an audit. Apparently, Taxaudit now believes I can't read. I never stated anything about being audited.

Turbo-tax really screwed me over this year. The guarantee I have for them is that I will NEVER use their service again. And unlike them, I mean it. I have used this service for years and watched the price go up regularly, until now, no problems. When they screw up, they go all out to do it!

Desired outcome: I want the refund I was told I would be receiving. That was guaranteed I would be receiving.

TurboTax Turbo Tax

I did my taxes with inuit turbo tax. My federal refund amount was $2890.00. I received a notice that my refund would soon be deposited and so I checked my online account and they deposited $1343.00 a difference of $1547.00. I sent an email to the company that deposited the money in my checking account and they started a claim. From all I can gather they are not making good on the issues that people are having with them. Not a good deal fort them because I was sent a notice that there had been a ruling against them for millions of dollars for changing fee amounts on customers.

Desired outcome: I would like to get the rest of my money from Turbo Tax. Also an appology would be nice. I will not be using this product in the future since they are not trustworthy.
