On 7/4/2023, I made an ATM deposit with $674.00 cash, which I do every Tuesday. There were no problems, I got my receipt which details the number of each denomination of bills I deposited. By the time I got home, I had an email informing my that usbank had "corrected" a transaction. I then checked the app and discovered that you had reversed the transaction.
I called the 1-800 number, and got passed to 4 different departments (service, fraud, ATM, and an ATM specialist. Nobody could help me or even give me a reason.
I contacted the branch on 7/5/2033, and was told they couldn't help me. They told me I had to contact the ATM department and file a dispute. The ATM department told me that I couldn't file a dispute until the transactions completed.
The transactions completed on 7/6/2023, so I contacted the ATM department again. They filed the dispute, then told me it could be up to 10 days before it was resolved. I would have to wait for whoever services the ATM to service the machine and collect the cash, see that the machine was not balanced, call the ATM department, find my (and anyone else's) disputes, then make sure the cash is there, then I would receive the deposit.
In the meantime, you had the audacity to charge me overdraft fees, which had damn well better be waived, since usbank has had my money for 5 days and counting.
I absolutely cannot understand how this process can take 10 days, because even though I don't know when the machine gets serviced, I would darn well bet that it's not once every 10 days. There's too much money involved, and banks are too greedy. I also do not understand how you can keep my CASH deposit, when I have a receipt (actually 2) that show the successful deposit and how many of each type of bill I deposited (I mean really? It took them AND counted them, so obviously they are there in the machine). and, you even have video!
If I took your money and kept it for 10 days, I would have been arrested for theft long before now. I had to miss work for a couple of days, because I had no money to fill up my box truck. (I work for a delivery service). Technically I could probably take you to court for theft AND damages, but I really don't want to do that.
So, I just want my money deposited into my account ASAP and the totally bogus overdraft fees removed from my account.
Thank you
James Meget
Desired outcome: I want my money credited to my account and all overdraft fees waived, as you have had my money all along.
