April 2021, ordered a custom sized storm door (specific model and features). Paid for door and installation at the West Des Moines, IA 50th Street location. 8 weeks later they told me manufacturer sent the wrong size so reordering.
Sept 15, 2021 installation day finally arrived. The custom door they sent was a completely different door, no "top only" screen, and wrong color. The only spec it fit was "full view". Stopped installer, went to Lowe's. They informed me they sent different door because the one I ordered does not come in custom sizes. This was the first I heard of it. So, now they want more money to get me the door I want. Said no and they are checking on "their cost" to see if they will do it for the price we originally upon.
If they do not honor the original price, I am reporting this bait and switch tactic to Lowe's corporate and local authorities.
Desired outcome: Send and install the door fitting my specifications and measurements with no upcharge or give me a full refund!!!
Update, today Lowe’s called and said they are ordering the door. However, wrong height per what installer told me last week. John (installer who measured) said no higher that 76 & 1/2 (76.5 inches). However, Jake, who I believe is John’s boss, told Lowe’s 77 inches high. We can lower the fame to 76 but cannot raise it or the door will not open. I texted Courtney (installation coordinator) and John to work it out with Jake. Ugh, un-freaking-believable. If I wanted to enter and exit my house thru a window, I would have ordered a window. I ORDERED A DOOR THAT WILL OPEN!
Lowe's - fence install
The representative that is currently assisting me at this location is JC Lundy Project Specialist – Exterior. The service I have currently purchased is an install for a privacy fence. I enter this Lowes Facility on July 27th, 2012 to request an appraisal for the project. On July 31st or August 1st the project was appraised for 4200.00 with a 10% product discount coming to 3910.00. The product was ordered and the complete service was purchased on August 2nd. I was informed that I was waiting for the product to be delivered and was informed by JC that the product was to be delivered on August 13th. He also indicated that I would be contacted to set an install date. I currently still have the voicemail confirming this notification. I did not receive the call so I contacted them Monday to set the date and was told that the contractor will contact me shortly. I was patient and waited till the end of the week with no call made to me still. I called Lowes on 08/17/12 to find out what was going on with the install and if I can set a date. I was then informed that the contractor would call me by the end of the day and was also informed that the install could not be done next week but the following week which is sometime between 08/27-08/31. Needless to say, I was quite frustrated when I still did not receive a call at the end of the day to schedule the install and how delayed this was taking. I will be required to make my first payment before the fence is even installed which is not excusable. I have been more then patient and have tried getting this install complete with nothing but frustration. I expected a much higher level of service from your company, and I am quite disappointed. I will be informing my friends and family about this experience and will be taking my business someplace else after this install
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
