We contacted Lowes back in September 2021 to utilize our 3 year extended warranty protection plan on a dishwasher. A technician came out in early October 2021 to find that the main control board was shot, and that we would hear something back in 2 weeks. After not getting a call back, I called 3 weeks later to follow up. I was told they needed to determine if they were going to replace the board or refund me the purchase price. They would not give me an ETA. After being batted around by the store, the warranty department, and even the corporate number, I could not get any answer or ETA from anybody. I was finally told on December 2, 2021 (almost 4 months later than my original claim) that there would be a store buyout and I would receive a refund check or debit card. It is now December 15, and I still am getting the same run around from the warranty department, the store, and corporate. This is completely unacceptable customer service. I will not shop or recommend Lowes for any major purchases, and would not waste my money on these extended warranty plan. Lowes customer service, warranty department, and corporate is a joke!
Desired outcome: Send me my refund. It has been almost 4 months!
Lowe's - Home remodel
For a large remodel, Lowes hired for our contractor(they told us they get the best) a man who had no experience in the business and was not licensed.! His subcontractors were inexperienced in every area: Drywall, painting/finishing, kitchen/bathroom- cabinet install, etc. The tile layer was a drug addict. It was to be complete in 4-5 months. The exterior was to be re-sided, trex decks, windows installed, etc.
We were going back and forth from Oklahoma to Holland, Mi. to just 'check on' the progress of the job. Lowes told us they were overseeing the project as a part of their costs...they did not ! It didn't even get started for 3 months after we paid and was never worked on daily as the men were working us 'in' between their other jobs!
The whole remodel took a year, so we had to rent, have our furniture put in storage rather than moving directly into the house and then pay to have it moved again.(as well as for storage and renting a house for 4 months.
The workmanship was so sloppy, so poorly done with so much damage to all of the materials and cabinets, flooring, (tile and wood flooring) doors, walls, interior and
exterior doors, exterior trex and siding, appliances installed improperly...that it literally ALL has to be re-done.
Lowes required us to pay Hundreds of Thousands of dollars, up-front, before they would start! Our total charges from Lowes was over $400, 000.00 and it all looks like an old beat up house rather than a beautiful new one.
We were absolutely ROBBED, LIED TO, and frankly SCAMMED by Lowes. We have been trying to get our COSTS back for over a year. They charged great excessive prices for what could have been done for LESS than HALF of what they charged us for this nightmare experience.
Their contract only allows arbitration so there is no reimbursement for "Pain and Suffering" as there would definitely be if they were taken to court.
Do not risk using Lowes for ANY work to be done by them. They hire anyone who they can get and do not vet them. And, nobody who is worth anything will work for them. It's shameful to do so in the industry Lowes has such a bad reputation.
