I bought a Friedrich's air conditioner that proved so defective and involved so much of my time wasted on waiting for often no-shows to fix it that I purchased another very expensive air conditioner. The first one was installed and had to be uninstalled because it was defective and would not work. The second one worked well for a week or so and then began to make strange noises, a complaint that was verified by a repair person. I'm awaiting the removal of the defective product and the installation of its replacement which may happen any time between 12 and 4 tomorrow. I'm deeply offended by the treatment I received at the hands of P C Richard & Son sales representatives Joe Botros JR. 8246. I can't understand why I have to wait around, again, all day for the replacement of a defective product, one they claimed to stand over. I'd strongly advise prospective customers to steer clear.

Never ever buy a GE product! Especially at P C RICHARD & SON! The worst experience you could ever imagine! First, GE Products have a history of at least past 3 years of extremely poor quality control. Over a 96% premature failure rate!
Suggest buying all other brand appliances at Sears in Paramus, New Jersey, NY! they have a small awesome appliance department staffed by about 3 very courteous, extremely knowledgeable, wonderful people who live in the local community. They would never recommend or sell you anything that would be troublesome. They also take the time to research both the product feedback, and price matching for us and everyone we have recommended to them for the past several years without having to ask.
Sears is an authorized distributor/dealer of just about every name brand appliance available! We have been so happy with this local Sears store and the unbelievable knowledgeable customer experiences we have received! We have purchased over $20k with them, and that should speak for itself!

They do not care! Buyer beware! A word of caution, do not buy from P C Richard & Son. They are horrible to deal with. I purchased a Whirlpool Washer (still under warranty) that takes 90 minutes plus to do a medium load. They tell me this is normal. Their manager at their Params store told me it should take 50 minutes and that his boss (manager), ** would follow up with me. It's been 10 days and despite repeated calls (leaving voice mail), I have yet to hear from him. They do not care!

I purchased a GE Monogram ice machine. It required repairs on two occasions for the same issue. GE took the unit to their facility but did not correct the problem. The third time I made a request for repair, P C Richard & Son determined that the machine could not be repaired (defective product). They issued me a store credit for the purchase price of $1097.97. The same unit now costs $1, 500.00. If I take the credit, I will have to pay the additional money plus P C Richard & Son will void the remaining 7 years of the extended warranty that I purchased for $314.99.

PC Richard & Son - That statement is not true. I have pictures of it to prove it.
My washing machine broke like 2 months ago. The technician said the wires were destroyed and that voided the warranty. That statement is not true. I have pictures of it to prove it. This thing has been going on too long and they just can't fix it. I called the store manager and he can't help me. I called the service department. They did not call back.

I bought my Fisher Paykel washing machine from them a few years ago. I bought the extended repair agreement from them thinking I would get good service. Wrong! Numerous times, this machine has needed repair and not once have they ever come and been able to fix it. They always come and tell me they have to order a part and then when it comes in, call me to schedule another service call. On the average, I am two weeks without a washing machine! And every time the service man blames me and tells me I am overloading the machine. **! Things wear out. PC Richard & Son service sucks.

I went into the Parmus NJ store to purchase a TV . Salesman was very rude and inflexible with price and negotiation. Don't they understand if you come into the store it's to negotiate - if I want to pay list price I can buy online - and get free shipping.. After a heated exchange with THE salesman - we left the store, and went to Electronics Expo next door.. Made my purchase in 10 minutes at Electronics Expo..
PC Richard & Son should be more competitive, especially knowing their competition is right next door! This company may be 102 yrs old - the need to know how to compete in a retail environment which offers many different consumer channels

I'm not surprised of the bad reviews after visiting this store. I didn't find it at all "messy" or "poor service". Maybe they've renovated since some of the older reviews?
What I did find was a ripoff ### rapping. The store is packed with commission salesmen that won't leave you the alone. I walk down an isle and immediately have 3 sales guys flagging me trying to get my attention. No exaggeration on 3 sales guys.
They were selling a 12 ft HDMI cable for $100. I can get the same cable at Radio Shack for $60 and Radio Shack HAS HIGH PRICES! The way the sales people acted I felt like I'm supposed to BARTER the prices. WTF kind of store is this?
I've seen electronics stores take advantage of unknowledgeable customers but this is ridiculous.

I purchased a refrigerator from P C Richard & Son. When it was delivered I was very disappointed in the product. I called them and told them what happened. They said it would be picked up. They never came. I called again and asked them to please pick up the refrigerator?. The girl who answered the phone at their Paramus, NJ store was so rude and nasty". I had ordered another refrigerator from LOWES!. It was delivered and I now had 2 refrigerators in my kitchen:. I once again called and asked them to please pick up the *** refrigerator'. Once again I called and spoke to another nasty rude girl in customer service?. She told it would be in their terms'. After a week they finally came'. I am now doing my kitchen over and I will never buy another appliance from P C Richard & Son.

I think it be on pissed bought whirlpool front load washer a year ago it sees a service guy more than it washes clothes out of 4 times service man shows up need parts not on truck its the board next time shows up needs parts more days out of work and more time and money for local laundromat next its the heat element and another control after it was repaired waited the weekend went to use it then it would not spin customer service really stinks we bought a 5 year warranty they say you lose it if you get store credit for the lemon in the basement well still no call from customer service or customer disservice not happy hey P C Richard & Son can i do laundry in your show room dejected in woodbridge and not happy with service department after 3 guess you may want to give whirlpool a crack at it a lemon

I went to p c richard & son in paramus, I walked around a bit looking, I was attempting to get the atention of a sales person and they took notice of me and then turned there heads as if I did not exsit. there were many foreign sales person and seems not one american. I feel I was discrimated against. and I will never shop at p c richard & son again, I went there because I had purchased items before and the african american gentlemen there were very helpful and I went back to buy a ht system for my tv. the gentlemen there where just rude.

Their sales people may be fine but if you need service, it's exactly the opposite. You are at their mercy & they stink?. Today is the 3rd service call on the same appliance, a refrigerator'. They refuse to give you a time frame ahead of time, so you have to leave the entire day open:. Of course their time is more important than yours, every time". I spoke to a supervisor this morning & he was very uncooperative & offered no alternatives for resolving our problem?.
By the way, this is not the first time we had problems like this|. The last time we had to appeal to the salesman & the store manager for help:.
It is 9:30 am & we just found out that the tech will be here between 1 & 4!. We'll make sure to roll out the red carpet for him.

PC Richard & Son - 3weeks without a working fridge in this heat wave and I lost a lot of food thanks to p c richard & son!
I am unsatisfied with the product that p c richard & son sold to me. I purchased a very expensive LG regridgerator in July and already the motor went bad. I called to have a service technician fix it and they sent a technition over 4 days later. When the technician arrived, he assessed the problem and ordered the part replacement. For some reason, P C Richard & Son decided to have the part delivered directly to my house. And what did the geniuses deliver? A fridge door replacement. When the tech returned to fix the fridge it was of course a waste of time because he didn't have a motor replacement to work with, he had a door.
I was so upset that I called the service department to complain again. They were so embarrassed by the mistake, that they said they would give me a new fridge but I would need to purchase a new warranty contract as a result. I complained that I already have a 10yr warranty and this should still be active since the fridge is only 1 year old. They said replacing the fridge means ending my contract. I was so upset. I had no choice but to opt to wait longer for them to order the correct part and wait for the technician to fix the fridge. It's been almost 3weeks without a working fridge in this heat wave and I lost a lot of food thanks to p c richard & son! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND PLEASE DO NOT BUY MAJOR APPLIANCES FROM PC RICHARDS! YOU'RE BETTER OFF ELSE WHERE!

PC Richard & Son - I will never go back there again?. it is true what they say,
I went out to PC Richards to buy a stove and was in a hurry. Selected a stove from the floor. Salesman Ola looked it up on the computer and told me that he would adjust the price and throw in a 5 year extended service warranty which was worth $110. I told him that I did not need the warranty and asked for the price without the warranty. He told me that it would go back to the regular price.. Since I was in a hurry, I accepted". Luckily, I had a circular and looked back at the price|. It was actually advertised for $100 less than was it was on the sales tag?. The guy totally cheated me out.. I had to go back and have the price adjusted?. What was even worse, the manager who had to change the price proceeded to give me the same line about getting the 5 year warranty, but this time for $30 more'. I will never go back there again?. It is true what they say, never trust a salesman Ola who says "trust me".

how did it work out? They should have replaced your refrigerator depending on the brand you purchased and that manufacurers return policy and yes, every brand is different on how easy they will it is to return an appliance that is defective.
To me it sounds like you may have some difficulties already by describing a salesman as foreign or another as African American. They are salesman, they are all americans! why would race come into play here? It seems like you are the one playing the race card! Do you really have to take note of your salesman's race each time you go to the store? They are just people there to help regardless of race!
Just because they are not white doesnt mean they are not Americans. They work on commision so do you really think they dont want the sale that bad?
PC Richard & Son - I had indeed asked him how much delivery and installation of a new stove was just out of curiosity.
The night before the delivery, a man from P.C. Richard & Son called me to confirm delivery of a refrigerator and a stove. What? A stove? I didn't buy a stove. The guy argued with me and said I did buy a stove, as if I could forget something like that. It was very insulting.
A few minutes later Marc, the salesman who sold me the refrigerator, called me and said that I had called him and ordered a stove to be delivered with the refrigerator and he wouldn't believe me when I said I hadn't. I asked him how I paid for it and he said I put the refrigerator on my Visa and the stove on my P.C. Richard & Son account--the same one that does not exist, as confirmed by the bank! Not that again! I told him again that this was impossible as I do not have a P.C. Richard & Son account and their bank had confirmed that I never had one.
I asked him how wide the stove I supposedly ordered was and explained that it was much to large to fit in my kitchen and that the delivery people could confirm that when they brought the refrigerator. I finally convinced him that he must have confused me with a different customer.
While purchasing the refrigerator, I had indeed asked him how much delivery and installation of a new stove was just out of curiosity so this confusion was understandable if someone had called in an order. (It was almost as much as the cost of the stove itself!) Still, I did later wonder if this was another scam to try to trick me into buying a stove as well as a refrigerator. I don't know if it was or not, but what else am I supposed to think with all the other problems I had?

The whole shopping experience is terrible. Incompetent sales people who behave like vultures and have NO CLUE what they are talking about and/or selling. I was given incorrect information 2x and as a result bought the wrong AC unit. When I wanted to return it the next day, they refused. No returns on AC. That despite the fact that they told me that Id have 20 days. Got a sassy response from the manager James when I talked to him . Stay away.

Well, the refrigerator was delivered late, at a few minutes after 2:00 pm. I was actually okay with that--I would have preferred it to be earlier in the day but fifteen or twenty minutes late is no big deal with me, I've had people show up many hours late or not show up at all. Besides, I'm sure delivering appliances is hard work and not the most pleasant job in the world and this was confirmed when I heard the two guys cursing with the foulest Spanish possible outside in the hallway. Hey guys, I speak Spanish! Not a nice thing to do! However, they were polite to me and for all I know one of them dropped the refrigerator on the other one's foot.
While the delivery men were bringing the new refrigerator into the apartment, I saw that it had several small dents on the top right side, some with white paint in them, as well as a very large dent on the corner of the refrigerator compartment door. What? I had ordered a new refrigerator, not a floor model or scratch & dent special!

You ever go into an establishment after having done a little bit of research, only to find yourself being the most knowledgeable person in the whole store about that particular item? Well, if you like that experience and don't find it to be the least bit frustrating, then you'll LOVE going to this PC Richard & Son location.

Do you enjoy having salespeople quote you higher prices than are listed on the company website, and then act like they're cutting you a deal and doing you a favor by giving it to you for the advertised price rather than the inflated bogus price they just made up out of thin air? My friend, you have hit the jackpot...'cause this store has got it all!
Get yourself down to PC Richard & Son, Paramus for a good ol' time! Or just sit at home and chew glass, which is probably more enjoyable and less painful.

PC Richard & Son - I accepted the refrigerator based on the manager's promise of a $75 credit for the damage.
I immediately stopped the delivery guys and called the store at [protected] and spoke to the manager, Craig Ruppert, who said that he would give me a $75 credit for the damage. While he held the line, I looked at the refrigerator again and more carefully to see if there were other dents and I then asked him for $100 credit because the dents are so bad and show but he said no, it was $75 or I could "refuse delivery" and they would send another one, that those were my "only two choices" and I had "to decide right this minute". Wow. He wasn't even nice about it, like it was my fault they sent a dented refrigerator and that my time sitting around waiting for delivery was no big deal and that I could just take another day off to wait for another delivery to correct their error.I asked him how I could trust that I would really get the $75 credit and he said they had "been in business over 102 years" and he said "If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it." I accepted the $75 credit because I had already spent one entire day waiting for the delivery and my old refrigerator was already out in the hallway and I did not want to waste another day on a stupid refrigerator delivery.
I did note the dents on the driver's report section on the delivery receipt before signing and I accepted the refrigerator based on the manager's promise of a $75 credit for the damage--this was an oral contract, no doubt about that.
After they had finished delivering the refrigerator, I was still uncomfortable because I didn't know or really trust Craig Ruppert so I called the P.C. Richard & Son store back to confirm the $75 credit and spoke to Penelope who had arranged for the delivery insurance. They checked and said that the manager, Craig Ruppert, had indeed put in the request for the $75 credit to the main office and since I seen her and spoken with her, I felt I could trust her.

It of course sounds easy to you to give you another $25 but not so easy for a store manager as the max they can offer without going to a higher level of manager (a great deal of red tape) is probably $75. The store would rather have you keep that damaged appliance as taking it back will cost them a lot more. I would agree with you about asking for more $ though but I would even try to get them to redeliver you a perfect appliance and still give you $75 for compensation for your time! The best of both worlds!

Of course, I was still out $0.40 for the stamp and all my time and trouble because of Charlie failure to live up to our contract. Yes, it was much cheaper for them to give me $75 to keep a dented refrigerator than to replace it but they acted like I was an inconvenience to them instead of the reason they are in business.
