My Daughter (15 years old) went into your store located at 7478 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920 on December 30, 2020.
When she walked in she was still carrying her recent purchase from Wal-Mart which is right next door because we had not yet been to the car to put it up. She was instructed by staff there that she could not walk around the store with her Wal-Mart bag and would need to leave the bag up front. Which she did do.
Upon checking out she asked for her bag and they informed her that someone must have accidently picked it up with their Dollar Tree purchase and maybe they would return it. Her receipt for her Wal-Mart purchase of $49.81 was in the bag.
Since then we have spoke to the manager Tasha several times and she has been no help at all. She pretty much feels as this is our loss. She said an elderly woman picked up the bag by mistake and brought it back the next day but she refused to accept it (even though she knew we were to be calling her back to see if it was returned) because it was not dollar tree product and told the lady to return it to Walmart. Walmart knows nothing about it and I do not believe Tasha's story.
Regardless of what happened to my daughters bag of merchandise dollar tree should be help responsible for refunding her money. This is a teenager who had just used her Christmas money. Your staff made her leave her bag therefore they should have been responsible for keeping it safely put up until she checked out.
The manager Tasha is not very polite and not helpful at all. She says there is nothing she can do. This is not acceptable.
We can show on bank statement that the purchase was made at Walmart the same day. As well as the staff can verify that she did indeed come inside with it and left it in their possession. They did not put it up and it was taken.
