Value Plus Tried to cancel membership

I contacted SEM Value Plus to cancel my membership. Was told it was cancelled only to have a another charge on my credit card. I called them again, talked to someone else and was assured it was cancelled and the charges would be credited. Next bill showed late balance due with late fees - disputed this only to have my credit card company say they were unable to help me and would re-bill me for the amount. Called SEM, they say I don't owe anything...Eye.yi..yi! Next step, call the credit card company. I feel like I am on a merry-go-round and it does not stop.

Value Plus unauthorized charge

I inadvertently clicked the wrong button and got duped into subscribing to a service I did not want. A few minutes later, I cancelled the service, and then called them to make sure of the cancellation went through. They still charged my credit card. I have since cancelled twice more. And they make it very hard to cancel right away. In my opinion, they are duping consumers.
Thank You

Recieved a charge for 25.00 on 1/25/10. However, I have never heard of this complany. I called the phone number only to have the person that answered the phone tell me they have not idea what the charge was for, but that is was authorized by me back in Nov 2009. They could not offer any other info but the valueplus.com website which doesn exist. I did locate this websit showing this is a scam.

Value Plus unauthorized charges on my credit card

This company started unauthorized charging my credit card for a year and a half. Shame on me for not checking on this sooner. They sent me a form letter that said I didn't qualify for a refund. They offered no service, I've never received a call from them or any correspondence. I did NOT, at any time, authorize a charge on my credit card. I think they got my number when I ordered something off of my TV because after they took my order, they transferred me to this awful company that tried to sell me a trip. I told them to leave me alone because they kept calling. I think this is probably how they got my credit card. No more TV orders for me and I vow to check EVERY charge on my credit card the day the statement comes.

Value Plus gift card/magazine subscription scam

Hi there. I too was also scammed by these low lifes! i did get one of the charges dropped as a "courtesy" (yeah right a courtesy?!) I then immediately called my bank and cancelled my debit card to ensure no future charges be made to my account. Interesting how these ### made three charges within 2 days on one another. I did get call from their audio dept. They had altered my conversation completely. they left out out my statements that I did not wish to receive any of their products; enroll in any of their subscriptions or have anything charged to the account they had me verify. i did write to my Attorney General's office and would ask all of you to do the same. You can file an electronic complaint on line. It only takes a few minutes. i am hoping if enough of us do this some action will be taken. These losers need to get a job/life and stop leeching off of the rest of the hardworking population.

Value Plus Canceled My Membership in Response to My Complaint

I joined Value+ because after buying something else, I was offered a $25 Walmart gift card if I tried the membership. I did, and got everything they advertised, including a $20 rebate on the $30 item I purchased. I got rebates of $5 for gasoline and $20 for electricity each month, which covered the $24.95 membership.

I was also able to order 5 $20 Walmart gift cards each month for $100. The Web site stated that I could purchase $100 in gift cards each 30 days. To me that meant, on the 31st day, I should be able to order. but several times during the 9 months I was a member, the order page told me that I had already ordered $100. So I had to keep checking back each day and finally it would allow the reorder. One time when it went 4-5 days over, I used their "Contact Us" form to send an e-mail asking about this. They said they were revising their system to change the member numbers. (My member number never changed.)

Now this month, it went 2 days over, which means soon, if orders keep ratcheting forward like that, I would not get my order processed on the 15th, but on the 1st of the following month, waiting another 17-18 days. I complained about this, also stating that I love Value+ when it works. They simply stated: We require that you wait 30 days, reordering on day 31. I addressed to their Supervisor, CEO, and Attorneys that this was not happening and asked them to explain the interval and where I was counting the days wrong. Their response was "We're sorry you are unhappy with Value+. We have canceled your account, and we will refund your last payment." I responded, "Please reinstate my account. I did not wish to cancel. Why can't you explain the interval?" I have not heard from them, and probably never will.

It was a lot of work, but I had it organized with tracking files and labels and I "earned" $25 each time I could order the gift cards, spending only 2 postage stamps to mail the rebates.

I will report this to Better Business Bureau, because all I wanted was for them to do what their terms promise. They give themselves the right to cancel membership at any time for any reason; however, they should be held to do what they say they will do, or they should not say it, and they should do everything to keep their customers happy, or at least explain why they cannot.

Value Plus unauthorized credit card charge

I found an unauthorized charge of $24.95 from WC *Mon ValuePlus Tom.[protected]@SMN on one of my credit cards, charges incurred July 13, 2011. I never authorized this charge...do not even know a thing about this person or business. I am filing this complaint and also calling my credit card company to dispute the charge.

Value Plus credit card scam

Was apparently offered 30-day free trial of Value Plus Service, sold as a discount program for products and services by Kaymaro, 4/20, a vender in CA. Was charged $24.95 on 5/20; 6/20 and 7/20, 2011 and received NO services, discounts or products from Value Plus.
I consider all these charges fraudulent and part of a credit card scam.
My wife accepted this offer but considered the so called Value Plus cancelled when she returned $79.70 worth of product from the original Kaymaro order for a mere $29.95 credit to our Fidelity American Express card.

You must claim those gifts and offers, they won't just send them to you, though they do claim they will send a welcome packet. I haven't received mine yet but it's only been a week. I did get my subscriber number and can access all the rebate forms and gift offers online. I've never found a service like this that automatically cancels itself, they always depend on you forgetting to cancel. Good that you caught it in four months instead of four years.

Value Plus $80 gift card false

What in the hell happened to the integrity of this nation. Everyone is lying about gift cards or shopping sprees or lottery winnings clear down to the government run agencies such as Medicare. Also the legal or lack of legal system.
I worked for 33 years before becoming disabled. I was talking to a pharmacy company because this wonderful government no longer will help me with prescriptions and this lady was just trying to help me so I could eat etc. She gave me the number to Value Plus to receive a $80 gift card to Walmart which would have been wonderful. Of course, I was charged the $1 to get it and there is no such thing as this $80 gift card or valuseplusonline.com/open/form/80. $1 seems pretty minor, but not when your only source of income is disability. And then you get excited because you are going to receive a gift card that is needed so badly. And then you find you are being scammed once again. How are these companies allowed to advertise on the internet. Why can't they be screened very thoroughly before they can put their offers on the internet.
Again...what happened to the integrity of this Nation. I already know that this government and legal system only works for those with Power and Money, but now everyone is an unethical piece of ###. Sorry, but I could give you stories of how this government and legal system has burned me. Not because I am naive, but because I don't have the money or power to fight it. It is so wrong in every aspect it is pathetic. This Nation thinks they are #1...think again. Other countries make fun of the USA. Don't get me wrong...I love my country, but hate the government, legal or lack of legal system and now just regular people and their false companies. No wonder this Nation and World is failing. Doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure that one out.

Value Plus No $20 in cash or $50 in Gift cards

I was charged for the service and when I finally got the packet, which arrived after the first 30 days, so they could charge my account I went on line to find nothing. The web address they gave me in the letter does not exist and nothing is even close to it. All the promises that the letter made for $20 in cash and $50 in gift cards was just a scam and now that it is past the 30 day free trial period they have charged my account on the 31st day right after the free trial ran out. It does not matter that they waited until 30 days to send you anything, I guess so that you would not find out that they are a big scam. I would like what was promised to me, the $20 in cash and $50 in gift cards and I am stopping any further account withdrawls.

This company is a big fraud and should be put out of busssiness!

That pretty much sums up my experience as well. After a week of signing up, I called the number, got my subscriber number and downloaded the forms and put them in the mail. If you click "Welcome Gift" at the top of the screen it will automatically check the status of those forms or give you the option to print them. The form for the $50 Walmart card does say that you must "Return this Request Form to receive your Selection Form for a $50.00 Gift Card." So the form is not to get the Walmart card, but to get ANOTHER form to get the Walmart card. You can also purchase up to $100 worth of gift cards for 20% off, not a bad deal, but I'm not confident I would receive them, so I'll not take a chance. I'll give it another week and then cancel. BTW, when calling the service number you are usually greeted with, "Would you like to cancel your account?" The few times I have talked to reps they seemed quite helpful. We'll see when I actually begin the cancelation process.

You could have contacted the company at any time by calling their customer service phone number and asked for your membership #. There is indeed a website at www.valueplusonline.com You used a comma instead of a period in the company information at the top of your post. When you go to the website it is annoying that you have to download a "request form" for the $20 cash rebate and the $50 walmart gift cards and fill them out and mail them back. More annoying is that it says "please allow 8 to 10 weeks for delivery". Lastly, the welcome packet was supposed to arrive after 2 weeks but it has been over 3 weeks for me and still nothing. I think they do deliberately wait for you to get your packet after the 30 day trial period and end up charging many people money. I have been told that even if I cancel withing the trial period I should get my $20 rebate and the $50 gift card even if I send in the request form AFTER I cancel my membership, but who knows? Guess it will take 10 weeks to find out.

Value Plus Unauthorized charges

I have been charged $24.95 a month from VALUE PLUS MONTHLY for the last 9 months without signing up for anything from them. I called and canceled which they had no problem with. They didn't try to talk me out of it which I find suspicious. I contacted my credit card company told them I canceled it and asked how to stop/block them from continuing to charge me each month. I was told they can't block any charges and I would have to dispute each charge every month. I asked if I got a new card from them with a new account number would that keep them from charging the card. They said since they had an authorized charge number it would carry over to the new card. I then asked how they could get an authorized charge number when I didn't sign up with them. This is what they said:

Someone would have provided them with your account information. From what I've seen on other accounts, this company is usually an additional service that is added when you order online or over the phone from another merchant. If you don't unselect the offer then it is billed automatically.

I have had two unauthorized charges to AMEX from this company, for what, I have no idea. I went to the website to cancel whatever "account" they think I have with them, but will handle this further through AMEX and state Attorney General for refund of unauthorized charges. BEWARE: I was recently foolish enough to have made a puchase by phone from a TV infomercial, and the Value Plus charges have appeared since then. More than coincidence?

its not that i don't know how to use a credit card online the simple fact is that these pending charges just appeared i did not purchase anything online or offline earlier today and as i said before i explained this to one of the people whose number was on the pending charge and so they will be dropping it in a few days but as for the origin and how they got my information i am at a loss and have no idea how or where they got it which is why my card is now deactivated as we speak

i just got charged twice both times for the same amount of 39.95 from 2 different people one that had a number and the Kaydensupport.com Consett GB which gave no number no email no way of contacting the first charge with the number was able to be dropped fairly quickly with little to no real dispute on their part which is...very weird but alright. so the first charge will be down i a few days but they only had record could see the one charge and had no idea where the other one came from which upsets me greatly because i am now out of 80 dollars and i didn't even purchase anything, this is down right virtual theft. so of course i reported the charges to my bank and now my card is cancelled and since its a Friday I must wait til Tuesday to revive my new card with new number...and that express too which means 11.50 shipping express fee is now gone from me as well. this all happened earlier today so both charges are still pending and i cant yet file a fraud claim until the money is taken and no longer pending so it will be a while untill i actually get my 80 dollars back...this is a strange reality that we live in unfortunately

I have the exact same problem. That charge of 19.95 appeared on my AMEX account this morning. I called the number listed on the charge and still don't know what it is or what they do. They agreed to remove the charge but I have listed the charge as "disputed" with AMEX just in case they don't remove it.

Value Plus Scary Info Found

I sent for a free Pharmacy Discount Card. Before using it, I called the [protected] www.pharmacydicountnetwork.com number. I was told this card is good at any pharmacy EXCEPT Walmart. I called Walmart Pharmacist who had never heard of this 'provider'. oddly, ValuePlus told me since I'm in WA. they have a stimulus package & would like to send me a WALMART gift card for $80...free. Then they wanted my personal info. Several times I declined until I heard what's involved. Finally I was told it would cost me $1.00 to receive a 2 week benefits in their saving club. I said no. She persisted. I went online where I found many complaints of fraud, & no one gettiing money refunded. Told her this news. Then she told me I'd been selected for a free cruise, free meals, free travel. Again I declined and hung up. Online The BBB.org for MN lists the parent company as Provell, Inc. a BBB member! out of 790 complaints in the last 3 yrs. BBB closed 338 in 12 mo. Out of 790 complaints 451 were billing/collection issues. The Company is headquartered in Mn yet the state does not allow their products, services to be available to residence, according to ValuePlus small print. Next Googled [protected] and found this biz goes by many names...DiscountMed4You--RXSaveUSA-TrueRxSavings--MedCardRx, and *many* more. READ about ValuePlusOneline.com Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions. What an eye opener. You have NO privacy to your personal info once you sign up & sign in. Read very carefully what you allow this co. to keep on file & share with all their vendors. Your credit card info, IP address, name, phone, home addy, age, sex, where you click, how long you stayed in page, even your pc hardware, software info. Claim they need this from you to protect Provell from fraud. You have zero protection from your info being used in this way. Just visiting ANY of their subsidiary and network sites means 3rd party is given your personal info, to use for future credit card processing, marketing, surveys, sweepstakes. Their site says so. You'll also allow their biz partners to now offer similar services, & others within their Provell network. Besides cookies being allowed download to your pc t for tracking your every move, you will have "webbeacons" to offer you specialized offers to pop up. Again, READ carefully ALL the tiny print at the bottom of the page. These by the way can change without notice and the fact you are still using the site even without any purchase, you now agree to all new changes in policy. Needless to say...I will not use my free Discount Card to save $ since this in the end would be too great a price at any cost. Do your investigating and stay safe.

Value Plus Funds withdrawn without providing services

3/7/11 $24.95 was withdrawn from my bank account. When I called the reference number on my bank statement, I was told that I had agreed to a 30-day free trial for something and failed to call and cancel within the thirty-day time frame. I went through my mail, my e-mail and personal notes, not finding anything like this. 4/5/11 again $24.95 was withdrawn from my bank account. This time I called the bank. They advised me to call the number and get as many details as possible to clear this up. When calling [protected], I was told that they were only a distribution company, had no idea who they were collecting money for and since I had twice allowed money to be withdrawn from my account, I would have to sign a document to have my account cancelled and my funds returned. The woman asked for my name and address then said that the form would be mailed to me in a white envelope which I should receive in 8 to 10 days, to sign and return it and they would take care of it for me. I asked who had authorized these charges. The woman said she could not tell me for my own protection. That apparently I had agreed to a 30-day free trial period to get an $80 grocery discount and failed to cancel the membership within that 30 days. After reading the complaints at this website, I recalled ordering some CDs from TimeLife off the television and wonder if that is where this solicitor got my name, address and bank account number. I intend to complain to TimeLife.

The same thing happened to me, but one charge was on my bank account. I called immediately. They took the charge off and my account was charged a fee. I told them that they owed me for the bank overdraft fee. The person on the phone claimed that I had to write membership services in order to try to get the fee back.

Value Plus Charges

I have no idea why these charges are on my charge card bill. I never knowingly agreed to any kind of service from this company. I want these charges removed from my bills. I would like to know why the charges are on my bill and what gave anyone the right to begin charging me a monthly fee. I have never knowingly bought from a buying service that charged a monthly fee and I want this stopped immediately and my money returned. I feel this is fraud and insist that this be corrected immediately. jld

I have no idea who or what these charges are for. When I called the company, the customer service person didn't know either! They claim that they have a recording with our authorization, but they couldn't produce it. The best defense against this company is to cancel the credit card and to file a fraud complaint with the credit card company.

Value Plus Scam

Doing my taxes and looking at my bank statement. I had noticed that Value Plus had been taking out $24.95 but had rationalized it was something else. Yesterday I phoned the company [protected] and talked with a woman who offered nothing. Finally after my becoming increasingly angry she offered that maybe I had purchased something in Oct. of 2009. I did look at my bank statement and that is when it all started. I have no information about purchasing anything. What to do...well I called the bank, changed my card, stopped payment on the company and filed a complaint with the Fraud dept. of the bank. I will also go to the bank in person and follow up on this. I was going to call and demand my money be returned, but having read all your complaints, I see that would be futile. I may go to the Better Business Bureau. They actually took over $400. I wish I had caught it sooner and this is a lesson for me also. It is really disgusting that scams like this can get away with hitting so many people. We need to be alert. 9

I just found out they had been taking $22.95 a month out of my bank using my debit card. I didn't notice it until recently because of the way the word it on my account. I called and all I got was about 12 adds with no human. In all they got about $1, 700 out of my account since 2011. I am working with my bank with that and other companies that have taken money out without authorization.

I want to complain about every damn category. What is this ### about? I will definitely be calling my bank to stop payment on any transactions going on with this company. How can people just do this? It's just wrong. I work too damn hard for my money for some scammers to try to take it. They need to get a job. A REAL J.O.B They haven't heard the last of me at all.

I paid for a product and received a discount and was aware to call within the prescribed period of time to cancel membership before my card would be charged. I called on 3/18/08 and was told that I would receive a confirmation email regarding my cancellation within 24 hours and received nothing. I called on 3/19 /08 to check and was told by agent No. 62795 that the cancellation was not put in and that she would take care of it. I didn't believe her, of course, so she gave me her agent no. above. She said I would get a confirmation email within 24 hours. I checked my email this morning @ 7:15 am eastern time and there is no email confirmation from this company. I want a confirmation email stating that this membership is canceled and my card will not be charged because I called within the time frame.

This company used my debit card information without my authorization. They took out $1.00 but their just checking to see if account is valid and next time will be for a larger amount. I do believe they got it when I ordered a workout plan from an informercial. Also there is another company called Funsource which happens that these two companies have the same 800# has to be the same company.

I just joined. the $1 is for the trial period. Then $19.99 a month. I ordered a $25 gift card at 25% off to see if it was true. The one gift card I ordered was valid. So, now that I see complaints, I'm not sure how to proceed. I think I'll order a couple more gift cards and see if it is worth it.

I was promised a $25 gift card for Walmart. A free trial for 30 days and to call a number to cancel. I called the number and it was some kind of directory assistance and they told me they weren't doing that promotion any more and to call another number in which they gave me. Now I am being charged $19.95 for Value Plus. There is no way to contact them to cancel. This is a SCAM!

I ordered a "free trial" of Value Plus card that was supposed to came with a free $25 gift certificate just for trying their service.

I never received the card, but discovered that they started charging me a monthly fee for it. Calling them is a waste of time. Every time I try to call to leave a message the line is always busy. Does anybody out here know how to stop these thieves?

My bank account was short $19.95 due to an account called Value Plus. I don't know what this value plus is, and I don't believe I've authorised any transaction for them. I tried calling the 800 number to see whaat this was and a lady told me that my last name did not register on her computer, then she hung up on me. If I have any more problems with them taking money out of my account, I'm going to call the BBB, and the FBI.

Value Plus Unauthorized charges

Folks - If you are assisting elderly parents with bills, like I am, please look for unauthorized shopper discount monthly charges. Watch for these companies to change names like PRO*HOMEPLAY and PRO*VALUE changed their name to SEM*HOMEPLAY and SEM*VALUEPLUS in December 2010. I found at least 6 other different discount services on my parents' credit card - all listed as merchandize on the credit card. They can obtain your credit card through unscrupulous Internet retailers who may post a checked box on the page where you finish a transaction or offer discounts on future sales. Some claim they sent a $5 check and it was cashed. My folks are in their 80s and never received membership or benefit information, which may be required by some state laws. Some other names are AP9*SHOPPING ESSENTIAL, which I believe changed its name to MVQ*SHOPESSPLUS, which now is called MVQ*SHOPPINGESSENTIAL. Other names are SHOPPERDISCOUNT.COM, GREAT FUN, and NORM THOMPSON REWARDS. While I post this as a problem for the elderly, it can happen to anyone at any age. It happened to me when I bought some clothing and the retailer would not let me complete the transaction without checking the box. Fortunately, I caught it after two months of charges. Please consider helping your elderly parents make sure they are not subject to this . These companies know something is wrong because they 1) change names without notifying the member and 2) an alleged "member" never uses the service over a long period of time. Thanks for reading.

Value Plus Unauthorized Charge

This company removed $24.95 from my bankaccount with out my premisson. When I called Dri Value Plus Monthly
I was at first told that "they" could not release that infomation, whan I asked for a supervisor I was then told that I had ordered something on line and signed up, when in fact I did not! When I asked what it was for I was told it was for a 'membership" I asked what kind and was told. by the supervisor "Derrick operator number 70471 that he could not tell me what membership. I asked for my funds to be returned to my bank account and was told by Derrick OP number 70471.
He would mail the forms in 7 to 10 days. Not acceptable. So I filled a complant with my Bank. they are checking into it and will refund my moneys, AND WILL get theys back from this SCAM of a comany called Dri Value Plus Monthly.
So I say to you now LOOK at your bank account and if this SCAMMER got you go to your bank & file a report. then call your State police and file with them

I was charged $24.99 and do not know why. I cancelled an order previously from a company who said I would have to cancel from other companies. But since I cancelled them I never received the packet to know who I need to cancel from. I do not wish to continue with this company and want my money back.
