Terrible Experience with Vanilla Gift Card - Do Not Use!
I gotta tell ya, Vanilla gift is the worst. I only bothered to buy a dang gift card from them for my kid and they couldn't even get that right. My kid tried to buy some stuff but the card didn't wanna work. So she called up the Vanilla people and they said it was all taken care of, but the card still didn't work after they supposedly fixed it. I had to get involved, but since I wasn't the one who first called, there was a big fuss about who owned the card. Ain't that something? Anyways, the lady on the phone wasn't helpful at all. I even asked to talk to her boss, but of course I got put on hold for another darn half hour. I was so ticked off after being on hold for a total of more than an hour with no fix in sight. They're basically stealin' from my kid, can you believe that? Vanilla gift is a joke and they should be shut down. Don't ever waste your money on them.

This website called Vanilla gift is not the greatest but it's alright some of the time. I used the gift card once on amazon and left some funds, but then when I tried to use them again, I noticed that someone took my money and transferred it to someone on paypal. I was really angry and asked for help from paypal, and they gave me the name of the thief. The Vanilla people said they'd look into it but they said it would take a long time, like 45 days! That seems like a really long time to me, so I wonder if they get hacked all the time. So if you get one of their cards, be sure to use it all up or someone might steal your dough! I haven't heard back from Vanilla in like 2 months, and when I tried to get another card and check the balance, there were some errors in their system. Netspend might be a little better, but not that much. I feel real sorry for anyone who gets one of these cards and then finds out their cash got snatched before they could even use it.
A Cautionary Tale: My Experience with Vanilla Gift Card and CVS Customer Service
So, I gots this Vanilla Card from CVS for $500 on January 11 and it won't even work! Ain't that just my luck?! So, I call up Vanilla and they say it's a problem with CVS. Like seriously, can these two companies just get it together already?! So, I go down to CVS to talk to a manager and this dude straight up tells me it's not his problem and it's all on Vanilla. On top of that, he was hella rude about it. So, I'm sitting there on the phone for an HOUR or MORE just to get a Vanilla customer service rep on the line. And guess what, the CVS manager won't even talk to them! What kind of nonsense is that?! So, I keep getting told the same thing by different people in the "Escalation Dept." Oh yeah, they got a whole department just for this kind of stuff apparently. Supposedly something called the "BackTeam" needs to look into it and get back to me in 24-48 hours. But like, who knows if that ever actually happens 'cause I never get a follow-up. And let me tell ya, I've sent in ALL the documentation they asked for - receipt, drivers license, copy of the card - you name it. But it's been THREE months and still nothin'. Ain't that just a big ol' scam?! I'm never buying another Vanilla Gift card or ANY card from that CVS in Frankfort, IN ever again. They both seem to be in on this together. So, word to the wise, don't be fallin' for this mess like I did.

This company is a scam. I was gifted with one their gift cards. I used the gift card for $25 at a store. Since I used the entire gift card, I decided to trash it. However, a few of my items didn’t work for me and I had to return it. The store returned the money back to the gift card. I contacted customer service to get the full card number so that is the only information I have is the card number. I contacted Vanilla Gift Card. The first day a representative was able to share the amount of the return but put me on hold for two hours. The next day I was on hold 1.5 hours and they needed my name, address, email, DOB, Drivers License, and receipt of the gift card purchase. I verified everything they seen in their system about the stupid gift card and they still couldn’t issue me a refund of $22.24. They have all my personal information for nothing and still won’t issue a refund. I will be sure to never purchase a gift card from this company again!
Vanilla gift card purchased at cvs missing all the digits for the card number
I purchased the card that is missing numbers and simply defective to use. I am second day in a row on hold waiting for someone to pick up the phone and can't get in touch with any customer service representative to change the card. This is absurd and complete negligence on behalf of the Vanilla Gift card that was issued by MetaBank. Absolute scam! This needs to stop and someone must remove all the cards from purchasing since they are not even answering the phone on their defective product.

Card not working
I bought a vanilla visa gift card in person at CVS. The receipt said the card was activated, and when I checked online, everything seemed to be good. When I tried using the card, it would not work. I checked online again and it said the card was on hole and to call customer service. I called and waited over 30 minutes without speaking to anyone. The balance still says the original amount, but I cannot use it.

My card was used before I even activated it. It had a balance of $6 on a $100 card. I called customer service the first time and it took 32 minutes for someone to get to me. You have to listen to this god awful (I think Lynyrd Skynyrd in loop). Had to give them all the info. About a week later got an email that I had to send them a copy of the receipt and front of the card. Was told to call back in 10 business days. I called back and waited for 37 minutes on the phone. The guy answered and I started to give him my case number and was disconnect. I sit here now waiting on the phone and it's been 26 minutes. This card is a scam. Don't buy! I still have no resolution for my $100 gift card.

On May 4, 2023 I purchased 3 Vanilla Gift Cards @ 500.00$ each, only to find out that they had already been used by a company called WWW.HIPSHIPPER.Com. I've been fighting with that company all this time to retrieve my money. Well the company has finally given me my money back, they put it back on the cards but the cards are all on hold. Tells me to call the number on the back of the card, well guess WHAT? The number on the back of the card or any other number related to Vanilla gift cards aren't excepting calls, never excepting calls. On 12/19/2022 My dad was scammed out of almost $1800 dollars through Vanilla Visa gift cards. I filed a complaint immediately and Vanilla Visa determined that he was scammed and March 1st. 2023 they were suppose to send new cards reimbursing for the money he lost. He has never received any cards even after a many calls. We have been put off and told they sent them, there has been every kind of excuse! We are still waiting. There has been no resolution. This gives Visa a bad name.
Fraudulent charge
On the morning of 5/22/2023 I went to check my balance of my Vanilla Gift Card that was gifted to me. I was going to use these funds for my wedding in August. I went to this website below to check the balances.

After I put the card information in there, it told me that the card was not valid. So I tried a different website and I put in the card information and it then led me to my available balance of $428.27. I then tried to make a payment on Etsy and my card was declined. I went back to the Vanilla website and it said that my balance was $0.00 with multiple charges through Pay Pal. I do not even have a PayPal account. I have been trying to get in touch with the credit card company at the number provided on the back of the card for hours now with no response from their customer service. The PayPal charges are still pending.
Desired outcome: I would like to get a refund from that account and hopefully cancel the charge before it goes through. Thank you.
Harley parts
Ordered some used parts. From a man on Harley site on Facebook. He wanted vanilla card so his wife no find out, he said. so, I get the card give him the info and, He said was no money on it. Wanted me to buy again and send again. I then knew it was a scam. I immediately Called, Was online, and it had some numbers and letters of where it was going. Status was pending Had not been sent yet. I told them to cancel it being it was still pending. So, they said they have to check it out and would email me when they come to a decision After 90 days. Unacceptable I said being it was still there stop it but no so I guess I will have to take it Up a notch with the law.
My son is a Sargent in the detective division His wife is a lieutenant. in patrol division.
My Daddys sister's son is a Sargent in Charlottesville police department. But I guess they will be of little help being they are local. However, my mother's brothers Son and his wife both Work in the pentagon and her brother works there as well. He works with scams and fraud. So, I called them, and they will be here next weekend..

I got a 25$ vanilla gift card for my baby shower on 4/29/23
I havnt even got to use it yet , when I tried to use it it said there was only 2$ on the card .
I looked up the statement on the card an on 5/10/23 @ 4:44 am the card was charged 23 dollars to PayPal. I don't even have a pay pal account.

Since february 2023 I contacted Vanilla gift card regarding an issue that I have with a gift card that I received on my birthday. When I opened the card, some of the numbers got stuck on the card cover and I was not able to read all the numbers. so when I called , they verified that the card had not been used and the dollar amount was still in the card. They asked me to send a copy of the card front and back as well as my ID card. Since then, I have been calling and up until today the case is still in review.
Desired outcome: I would appreciate a final response whether or not a new card will be sent.

my vanilla card is on hold which has over 400 dollars on it and i have called the line on the back and there has been no response for 30 mins and i've called them 4-6 times now. i just want to use the card my dad had gave me and yet nothing is helping and i need this card and people have been saying that vanilla giftcards are a scam but i dont want to throw my dads money away.

I got this gift card from Sam's club and I haven't used it. When I tried to, it says declined. I checked my balance on line and it still says the same amount as I bought it BUT its says ON HOLD and that I need to call customer service. I was waiting for about 20 minutes before a customer service took my call. then when I was talking to him, he kept on getting my personal information, birth date and address. He kept on saying something about deals that I can save after signing up for a membership and even if I said I don't want it, he just kept on saying its part of the verification. then he said he will transfer me to a safe and secure verification line - then I was transferred to a bot then he went back to the line. It took me almost an hour then he said to listen to the whole program recording saying I can call [protected] to cancel the trial period - cancellable anytime. i was given a confirmation code [protected]. then i was given number [protected] to call so that I can get assistance with my issue. wasted an hour only to be scammed some more!

fraud on 3 cards
I purchased three Vanilla Visa cards for two days ago for $500 each and they were somehow fraudulently used by someone via Facebook using the name "Attorney Mary L. Smith" despite their being in my possession at all times and my never having heard of this person. The fraudster promised a $100,000 government grant, which of course was a complete lie.
Desired outcome: Refunds.
Somehow this person was able to access the Facebook message section of a friend of mine and write to me under his name and photo telling me how happy he is to receive the $100,000 government grant.

Feb. 4, 2023, purchased Walmart Visa Debit card; and loaded with $500. Registered card and lost. Feb. 5 2023, called WalmartGift.com [protected] to report lost. Per WalmartGift instructions; Sent copy of receipt and Drivers Lic. to [protected]@incomm.com who also provided Case # [protected]. It was never a Vanilla card. March 28, 2023, received email from Vanilla: [protected]@incomm.com, [protected] for f/u. Many calls in 3 months ; all lies; repeatedly told mailed x 2. Appears to be a scam/conspiracy for Visa to evade cost of replacement cards; defer to Vanilla who never provides.

Ok I waited a month to get money to buy a part online for my pickup.. So I got me a vanilla gift card prepaid 50 dollars.. So I go online order the part and told me the billing address is not the same as the card.. And declined the order so I tried to get a hold of customer service it took 4 hours to finally talk to some one and they told me my card had been compromised and I had to wait 7nto 10 business days to get one sent to me.. But it still don't solve the initial problems of the billing address.. They did even ask why is got declined because of the new issue of the damn card I can't believe a big company like that don't take care of their customers a little better..
