card not working
I have tried multiple times on my first card to make a transaction multiple times which made it block my card, I did get a new one but it still isn't working I put all of the right info but it still did not work. I tried to talk to costomer service to asign my postal code but the person I was talking to said I didn't need one and in the end did now help me.
Desired outcome: I'd like to get my card working so I can actually use it instead of it being a waste of money.
Unauthorized credit card charges
I received a vanilla visa gift card for 500.00. When I went to use it someone else used it. My daughter Jennifer knapp Dominick put in a dispute on [protected]. I never got a message that my dispute was being taken care of. The only thing I got was a dispute number which is (case number) [protected]. Hi my name is Chris, I recently got robbed on my vanilla visa card for $57. On 3/6/23 at 7:56 pm. They went on BetMgm LLC. I have tried to reach out to them,they emailed me back but nothing has happened. And I tried getting ahold of your customer service and nothing happened, really this is the worst! It was my birthday money and I was broke. I really don't have much money then this happened. Please please help me out,if not I would have to tell people never to buy your cards again and I heard this happens alot!

Vanilla gift card purchased 3/9/23 for $500 cash
On 3/9/23 I purchased a Vanilla Gift card for a family member who had an emergency and need money. I bought it a local Walgreens store, got my receipt and activation code receipt. Gave it to the family member and when they went to activate the card, it said there was an issue with the card.
Called the number on the back of card and spoke with a customer service representative and explained the issue and asked her to check it and tell me whats wrong with the card and card balance.
She checked and said there was an issue with the card and that she would have to create a complaint account so the company can investigate why there is a problem with card. I explained to her that this was bought for an emergency problem and I needed the card to be either activated today or refund my money back into my bank account today...she stated that I need to send copies of my card, front and back, my receipt of purchase and the activation receipt and my valid ID. told her I have been here before and still dont have a resolution from 6 months ago. Asked for a supervisor, said the same thing. Finally asked for the name of CEO, and or Legal dept. and now Im reaching out to find someone who can resolve this and previous problem and comment that this company that makes billions of dollars a year on us consumers needs to step up their game and either give faster response to the consumers and hire more staff to be able to do this and to check their protocol on how things are done and make changes. This is not acceptable and they will end up losing money for this company with over thousands of complaints...wake up Mr. Williams...this is not a game..you will lose

Missing half of my vanilla gift card after opening the package.
I received a vanilla gift card for 500.00 on March 4, 2023. After opening the package half of the card was cut off and missing. I tried calling customer service and I've been on hold for hours. It's impossible to get through customer service. I have all the info needed for verification. The only part that's missing of the other half is the 3 digit security code and the stripe of the card. Other than that I have the receipt of the purchase that came with the gift card that tells me the amount that's there.
Desired outcome: Please refund me a new vanilla gift card with 500.00.

I'm so disappointed with vanilla gift card. I have called asking for resolution on my stolen card for the past 3 months to finally get an email stating my case is closed and will not get a replacement. I Issued a card dispute case [protected] and sent copy of the rcpt I had of the purchase gift card that was a gift for me for my birthday. Vanilla Visa Prepaid Card
I purchased a Vanilla Visa gift card on Valentine's Day @ 3pm at a Walgreens as a gift for someone. And when the recipient opened the packaging, the gift card had an incomplete card number on the front. Nothing after the first 4 digits, so now it can't be used. I went back to the store and was told they can't do anything, and gave me a number to call. I called Vanilla Visa customer service multiple times, sent in all documentation requested by them, to still get no correspondence from them afterwards. However I was told on the phone that I would have my money back by 3/3...it's now 3/3 and I called again to now be told I have to wait 30 days for them to reissue me another gift card. Do not buy these gift cards! My friend didn't get the gift for Valentine's Day now because of this. I don't have another $200 to risk losing by purchasing another card, to then open it and get robbed! How nice of them to keep my money until they're ready to return it!
Desired outcome: I want a refund. Where's the guarantee that the next card issued will be usable? And if not, then I have to wait another 30-45 days to be issued another card.
Fraud charges
I received a gift card and my charges declined. I went online to check the charges and I saw there was a charge made to Nike store for 247.50 made online. I called Vanilla gift service number located on the back of the card 3 times waiting more than 40 minutes getting agitated and hanging up hoping they could just stop the purchase. Finally my husband waited a whole hour and got someone who keeps telling him he is unable to verify the card by the card numbers on the card so my husband calls me 3 way. The rep then proceeds to tell me I have to give him information on one of my own personal credit cards in order for him to pull up the gift card. No sir. My personal information has nothing to do with this gift card. I asked for a supervisor who then comes on who sounds just like the same indian speaking person an tells me the same thing when I asked for management or corporate head quarters number so Ben Matthews (indian man with that name yeah right) proceed to give me this [protected] number that has absolutely nothing to do with Vanilla gift card. That's fine. The person who gave me the gift card is in charge of a project that requires them to purchase multiple gift cards at a time at $500.00 a pop. That will be my next phone call you will not be receiving any more of NYCHA business
Unable to read the security code
We are unable to access the Security code. the first two digits are 85. We bought this Visa Card for our granddaughter's birthday, and she hasn't been able to use it. It was on the amount of $100.00. The card # is [protected] and expires December of 2030. I can't make out the security code. We purchased the Vanilla Visa Card on February 28, 2023 at Rite Aid Pharmacy on Drinker Street, Dunmore, PA 18512

Vanilla visa debit gift card
My 86-year-old father's wife passed away in September 2021.
Nine months later in May 2022, he called the customer service number on the card to inquire to see if there was a balance on the card (initially $100). They gave him a Case Number which he did not write down.
Online - it says that the card was activated on 9/16/21 and has a balance of $78.62. Not sure what the AMZN Digital $21.38 purchase was on 1/1/22, likely not his but now there is a block on the account.
He called about this then I called the other day. The customer service rep says they cannot help at all because we do not have the Case #.
Online Vanilla Visa boasts that these cards do not expire.
Why can this card not be reactivated by customer service?
My Dad is low-income so every $1 is helpful.
Vanilla Visa Debit Gift Card number is [protected], it says expies on 08/29 which should again not be the case because your cards to not expire and on line it lists a balance of $78.62.
The back of the card code is 430.

Vanilla prepaid mastercard
I received a $100 giftcard as a gift. It was in SEALED plastic that you had to cut open. When I opened it to get gas, it wouldn't work. I looked a the back of the card and there was a barcode sticker overtop of the real barcode! The sticker number matched the number on the plastic packaging. That tells me that this is an inside job. Someone is keeping the real gift cards and putting a sticker of the barcodes they are keeping. Then when people purchase the gift cards, you are activating their cards. The expiry date on the plastic cover was also different then the expiry date on the card. When I checked my giftcard it says it was not activated. But that is because the scammers card was being activated. This company needs to be evaluated. This is clearly an inside job because the packaging was sealed.
Desired outcome: I would like my money back, but more than anything, I don't want this to keep happening, so I would like the company and the employees investigated.
Vanilla Gift Card
I was given a $50.00 gift card for a gift in October 2022. I went to use it on November 23, 2022 and found out that someone had already used it. I called customer service to let them know and as we were talking , the person was still using the card. I was then given a case number and was told that it would take 45 days for the investigation.
Today which is February 21, 2023, I call customer service and they tell me that the date was modified to December 21, 2022. I couldn't understand why the date was changed why I was never notified about this. Customer service tells me that they didn't know why the date was changed.
I am very upset and frustrated and now I feel that vanilla gift card is a fraud and scam. I told the person that gifted it to me and they were very upset.
Desired outcome: Please refund money or send new card.
gift card received from co-workers
This card has never been usable. They constantly decline it and then when I called customer service they say that they will investigate it and return un-charged charges. I have yet to hear from them and charges keep accumulating. When I called the customer service again they "blew me off" and told me that it would be another month before the review is complete. I originally contacted them 3 months ago. When asked for a supervisor I was told it was a 40 minute wait and was cut off and put on hold again. Company transfers to India.

Reinstate my balance
I received a $100 Vanilla gift card a year ago (approximately). Last Nov. I went to use it and noticed a charge for approx. $34.00 that wasn't mine. The charge was pending so I called right away and tried to stop it. Your help desk said I couldn't do that but I could open up a dispute. I did and received a resolution last week with a gift card [protected]) for the remaining $34.37. I just went online to verify the balance and use it and there was a balance of $.06 left. I never used the card. I called your help desk and had no success resolving the issue with your agent (she suggested I open another dispute!) I asked to speak with a supervisor. By now I've been on the phone for over an hour. When the supervisor finally picked up she sounded like she was in a small room with several others. I could hear several conversations at once and not understand any of them. The supervisor said she was going to put me on hold while she checked something. I waited and waited then my phone went dead. I don't know why, but I do know it's a $34. problem and I've spent a lot of time trying to resolve it. How can I spend the $34.37 and go on with my life?
Vanilla gift cards
I bought $200 vanilla gift cards as bonuses for my employees at Christmas. Turns out the cards have a zero balance, and now I see that Vanilla is a known scam with this. The cards are fully packaged, but either have all of the numbers scratched off, or have already had the card numbers leaked. We are just now realizing this, as our staff has been steadily coming to us tell us of it.

Here's my story:
I just tried to use my $200 vanilla visa card. I went online to check the balance to be sure i remembered the amount. The Vanilla gift card check balance site showed that yes the balance was 200. Within minutes I went to amazon to load my amazon account so i could make a purchase. It was declined. I tried several times thinking maybe i entered wrong. Nope.
I went to vanilla site again and the site itself would not work for this card, it was not a site error because it worked for my other card just fine. i tried and tried and tried. it kept saying to try again.
By the time I got into the site the next day the balance was 200. I did the same thing with amazon. Again Declined.
Now today, I can actually see the transactions on vanilla and i see all my transactions declined but there are approved PAYPAL transactions with this: PAYPAL *ZHANGSHAAOJ - ! Like what the heck, right?
Now I am currently on hold with Vanilla for almost an hour and NO ANSWERS to what happened or how it can happen? Seriously?
DO NOT BY VANILLA GIFT CARDS. THEY ARE NOT RELIABLE AND THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WORTHY OF THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I HAVE SPENT ON THESE CARDS OVER THE YEARS~~!
The rep tells me that their policy is that it is like cash and therefore has the same risk. However, how is that possible when the card NEVER left my possession? It has been sitting under my computer keyboard and no one had access to it.
This is crazy. I asked to speak to a supervisor, manager, vice president, CEO anyone and they put me hold and here I sit on hold AGAIN!
Vanilla e card
I purchased a vanilla e card and vanilla put a hold on card not allowing me to use the funds. This all began Feb 6 2023. It's. Now Feb 16 2023. Numerous calls to customer service have netted not much help. I was giving a case number and told to call back in 2 days the customer service department was reviewing my case. I called back in 2 days gave my case number again and was told by the person on the phone it takes 3 weeks to get a refund and that I would get an email if there was a resolution so still nothing I would not recommend anybody by any services from vanilla Visa card or vanilla ecard the wait time on the call is at times 15 20 minutes I would advise to make sure you get the name of the person because that all customer service reps are putting notes in the computer I'm going to call back again tomorrow and see what I'm told because this is ridiculous
Gift card
Vanilla Gift Card was defectively stamped. Some numbers on the card were missing and some were partially obscured.
Its not a registerable card, and I wouldn't be able to register it if it were due to lack of full set of numbers.
Vanilla customer service required my drivers license.
How can they use that to verifiy what card it is, and that i'm actually the person holding it. It seemed unsafe to give them my drivers id. I contacted the place I purchased it from and most people there told me to get lost (paraphrased, but difference in wording is almost identical) one person there did say that vanilla needs the big scanned number that is on the receipt and that is the one scanned by the upc reader at the cash register that is the big number on back of card.
Its the only thing on both the receipt and the card. Its the only way for them to indentify the card (in that it exists and the other numbers do not wholy) and that i'm the real holder. I sent a photo to that company of the receipt and card and they forwarded it to vanilla and opened a ticket. they said vanilla didn't respond to them
I had my credit card company deal with it but they did a really bad job of it. they made many mistakes, didnt pay attention, didn't really read any of my comments or pay attention to my submitted info. because they screwed it up really bad I got mad at them and they gave me the money free.
I don't really have any real closure regarding that company or vanilla. they screwed up, ignored me, and my credit card company paid for it because they were kind of inept and didnt really care to spend the effort to go after either of those companies. oh well.
Guess I should be happy someone paid me money.
Desired outcome: dont ask for completely unrelated info that can be used for identity theft. do respond to the store when they contact you. realize this type of issue is not a company policy issue. its a product defect issue. its a legal issue.
Card no working, sent replacement and was sent a cheaper version which is useable
I purchased a card that states accepted worldwide for gaming including gambling because I know the regular cards have been disallowed for these games. So after coming home and trying the card it was not working. I went on the website on the back of the card to check the balance and see if maybe I had to register a postal code. I was able to login, seen that the card was loaded with 50$ as planned. But again when going back to the merchant the purchase was declined. So again going to check the balance on the website of Mastercard, it now stated I could not login. Confused I called the 1800 number and after an hour I was told the card was out on hold by the fraud department due to the fact I had checked my balance on a fraudulent website. I’m no slouch when it comes to the internet and understand safety. They stated not to click on any links but to write the webpage in the address bar. I laughed and again stated this was the case and I know I haven’t been on a fraudulent website. Unless you’re telling me your website has been compromised. After an hour of not getting anywhere I asked for the supervisor and got the same answer. Was not helpful at all and just wanted to replace the card, so I allowed her to send to my address after arguing with them for something I could use instantly. A month has passed and today I got my replacement card, went to the website that I have been playing casino on for years and the transaction is declined : (I have been on the phone now for 2 hours and the same thing is happening. I’m extremely upset 😢 pleae help

Concern:
Today we, as a group, tried again to purchase multiple gift cards for the families that we sponsor.
We spoke to a customer service representative who shared the same information that the previous vanillagift support representatives sincerely shared in their very professional & kind manner.
Reason:
We have had multiple colleagues attempt to purchase the egift cards, as a guest, with THEIR cards; from THEIR desktop, using chrome.
Each time, they all received the same error message that we tried to explain to the representative today. She did share the troubleshooting steps; we appreciate it very much.
Error Message:
The error message does not give a reference code to share.
The message states that the financial institutions cannot verify payment & to use another form of payment.
Today’s Call
The representative today stated that it is as simple as that - in regard to contacting the financial institution or using another form of payment.
We tried to express that we did follow the advice in doing all of those steps. We asked to speak to a supervisor who could check to confirm that the accounts were not flagged again from multiple attempts, as there were once before. We were not able to speak to a supervisor.
