PLEASE for the love of God, change your company's tired old photo of two women that appears when I open my app. There has got to be a budget somewhere for this. Please rotate with other photos and change the rotation more frequently. Get better models and a professional photographer too. I have worked in the photo industry for over 20 years. You can shoot several shots in one day to save money. That photo is so old and bad that I cringe when I have to open my app. Other than that, your app is wonderful. No complaints at all. Time to invest in some good photography.
Abuse of power - revocation of membership
The incident happened on Mar 23. I feel my VarageSale membership revocation was unjustified and based on the admins's personal grudge against me. According to VS rules, "Community membership can be revoked when a member has broken one of that community's rules or, in some cases, if a member no longer meets the community membership criteria, such as requirements regarding location or account settings". Neither of those two things happened. I was fully compliant with the rules and code of conduct when I was banned. Here is the reason the admin gave for removing me: "This user's membership has been revoked for repeatedly contacting other members simply to complain about me as an admin and that I am continuing to ask members to post items in the appropriate categories". 1). I did NOT "repeatedly contact other members". I only contacted ONE person ONCE at when the rule was finally posted asking them what they thought of it to see if I was the only one not getting it (that person disagreed with the rule too, by the way, like a few others). I do not recall seeing a rule forbidding communication with other members, so I did not break any rules here either. 2). I did NOT complain about her as admin. I was only questioning the rule. 3). I did NOT complain about her continuing to post items in the appropriate categories. In fact, I was kind of glad to see I was not the only one she asked to do it. It is very sad that people who were given the power, abuse it. It does not give VarageSale a good reputation. It would take too long to describe the whole situation here, so I am attaching the full transcript of my correspondence with this admin. The only things I will add to help understand the situation as it is not covered in the transcript: I was selling furniture that I refinished, and it was originally posted in the Furniture category. Then the admin asked me to move it to the Handmade category (no rules regarding that were posted at that point). The rest is in the transcript. I am outraged with this abuse of power. I strongly urge you to look into it as such things should not be happening. Thank you in advance.
I was able to discuss the situation with another admin for my community and got more understanding there. My membership has been re-instated.
Abuse of power / unethical behaviour
Administrator of the groups that she is entrusted to be impartial about buying and selling of goods or sales for small business isnt doing her job as specified. The groups that she is in charge of if it interferes with her sales she removed the posts and bans members who post items similar to hers for own personal gains and sales. I can see that she has alot of things posted over the time frame and alot of praises but its not hard to do when you are the only person basically in the province allowed to sell on a site that has thousands of people and no competition. Attached i have photos of her name and fb profile that shows her scentsy link to her personal sales page along with the message that say she will remove my posts from varagesale.com because it is against the rules. if so why dont the rules apply to them including having real pictures. I ask that she is removed from her position as administrator and allows everyone equal opportunity.
Terrible mods and admits - no help for a top member
I have been in Varagesale for over a year now. Making top member for about the last 6 months supplying the community with mostly electronic goods. I received a 2 week ban over a 10$ item that I sold because I supposedly broke rule 6a. I had no holds in my living so rule 7 should of applied. A mod banned me so I contacted an admin and she didn't reply. So I started a new account (which isn't right I know) but when I contacted admin, which upon she read my concerns, she neglected to reply back to me. The mod that banned me is an elder lady who accused me or my wife of deleting some of my messages in this conversation about this 10$ game issue. We have crooked people, thrives and criminals on the site and I got banned for something that I 100% believe I didn't do. Even if it might of been just, the mod wouldn't listen to my concern, and banned me 2 weeks. So I started a new account to which I woke up this am to the following picture below. I'm a 47 year old self employed businessman who sees varage sale sadly being run in Regina. I will move on to Let go, and tell everyone about this absolute horrible experience I have had with varage sale here in Regina because of its mods and admin. I have people constantly messaging me and looking for me on Varagesale and I only was off 2 days. Sadly what was done to me was unfair and unjust. You have lost a great Varagesale seller and the admin especially didn't address my concern about being suspended. She read my messages to her but refused to reply. Causing me to start a new account. Yes this I'm guilty of, but these ladies in question have superiority complexes. Something I wouldn't want in my business. Time to let go of Varagesale and head over to Let go. Perhaps they would like a person such as myself to be on their site. I can provide many people of whom vouch for me as well on Varagesale. But how this was handled is awful. Even with my eBay Store, and having to deal with customer associates from around the world is better and easier to deal with then these 2 ladies you have on staff here. A parting note, always when you as a business have a problem, and the person in question messages you, you need to reply to these things. Also, so you know the admin in question doesn't follow the rules either. She is on the autobody business and she told me "no store front businesses" allowed. Funny how she has so many car parts for sale on your site. Take it for what it is, but this should of never happened this way.

I wanted to buy something from VarageSale and found something I was interested in. I contacted the seller and asked about our meeting place. What I liked about VarageSale that there was all the necessary information about sellers and buyers, because most of the accounts were linked to Facebook. But this sellers personal information was hidden, there was no access to his Facebook page and no photo. When I asked for his photo (just to know how the seller looked like) he refused to show it! He said he saw my photo and will find me.
It's not good that people can do that and hide such necessary things! How can I meet someone I don't know? How can I be sure he's not dangerous?
I would not recommend this site.
Wow, I realize this is a very old post but I am curious as to how your admin handled this.
I admin several VS Communities and this would be terms for losing membership privileges.

so disappointed with varagesale!
I was selling stuff on VarageSale and one day I was contacted by a very strange customer. That lady asked too many questions about the product. I told her that we can meet and she will see everything herself. So we met and she decided to buy from me. Later my shop got blocked and when I contacted VarageSale to see what was going on they said they received...
